Dan y Coed means 'under the trees'. Our cottage has nestled under the wooded hillside of Tan yr Allt for 200 years. The cottage is on the outskirts of Llanidloes, a 10 minute walk to town. We pride ourselves on guest satisfaction and the cottage is equipped to a high standard. We welcome all people and well behaved pets (downstairs). The Garden House is a peaceful stone cottage set in the historic gardens of High Glanau Manor, the home of H. Avray Tipping (1855-1933) the Architectural Editor of Country Life Magazine from 1907. High Glanau Manor is an important Arts & Crafts house set in 12 acres of gardens designed in 1922. The gardens retain many original features including formal terraces, octagonal pool, glasshouse, pergola and 100 ft long double herbaceous borders. There are spectacular views to the Brecon Beacons

If sitting back is not for you there are several local country walks and attractions. By car Wrexham is just 5 minutes away, Chester 25 minutes and if you fancy a day in Liverpool, it’s only an hour away.

The bungalow is minutes away from the town centre on foot with easy access to the Royal Welsh Showground. With tasteful decoration and plentiful amenities the property really does feel like home from home. It's the ideal base for enjoying nearby beauty spots (being roughly half way between the Brecon Beacons National Park & the Elan Valley). A maximum of 2 small dogs would be very welcome.
