Secluded and Romantic Paradise on Somerset Levels

SueRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A beautiful restored Water Mill with artistic history linked to Picasso through Clementina’s Father , fascinating with book written in the Mill . On the day we were to arrive the weather was horrible and Clementina lit 🔥 a beautiful log burning stove and turned on the central heating to make us feel at home , she welcomed us a little early and showed us around and explained in detail about how to use the facilities in the mill . We have eaten at at 4 of the 5 restaurants she recommended and our favourite by far was The Boar at Barrington ( must book to be sure ) all the others were good but The Boar stood out by far . A big thank you to Clementina and Ben the garden looked amazing. Sue W 🐝🦋🐝

Romantic barn conversion in Somerset

NicolaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We had a wonderful stay . Romily and Neil are extremely welcoming . The breakfasts delivered to our doorstep were a considerate addition which we looked forward to in the mornings. The barn is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. If you like walks and history Muchelney is a beautiful intriguing place . We would very much like to return in the near future.

South Ham Barn

Both Peter and Liz were extremely welcoming and we appreciated the cake and wine and provisions. Our five year old granddaughter had the best of times feeding the baby lambs with Peters guidance. The pool was wonderful and We couldn’t get her out of it and she learnt to swim whilst we were there and has gained in confidence. Lovely peaceful location. We will be visiting again. Thank you Peter and Liz for making our stay so relaxing.

Blake Bros Wine & Spirit Merchants

Spacious, stylish apartment, full of character reflecting its history. Entry into the courtyard and from the courtyard into the apartment felt very secure. Rather steep uneven wooden stairs might be a challenge to those with mobility issues but not a problem for us. Substantial welcome pack and well stocked kitchen cupboards. Friendly hosts with interesting conversation about the history of the buildings.

Characterful barn on the Somerset Levels

MaggieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Beautiful barn in several acres of land down a very quiet country lane with walks from the door. Very well equipped, everything you could need. Showers were amazing and lovely bathroom products to use. Very comfortable beds and crisp linen. Loved spending time with the chickens who roam free during the day, and sitting listening to the birds. Lovely pub in Hambridge, very friendly, full of character and great food, about 1.5 mile walk each way. Andrea recommended Queen of Cups in Glastonbury for middle eastern tapas type plates…..food was amazing. We spent a lot of time at Avalon Marshes and RSPB Ham Wall (about 40 mins drive) which give a flavour of the landscape and saw some brilliant wildlife. We also explored Ham Hill which is beautiful with 360 degree views.
