Farmstay holiday rentals in Matamata-Piako District

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Teresa and Peter’s place. Having a second bedroom for our 15 month old to sleep in worked out well. Teresa had kindly placed some breakfast items in the fridge for us and Denver the dog would constantly drop fresh avocados outside our door. The tree-lined driveway ushers you up a hill to the main house and detached apartment that has magnificent views over the countryside towards the Kaimai Ranges from the lounge and main bedroom . The large wooden deck is a great place to relax and take in the scenery after a long drive. Matamata has a good choice of restaurants just 5 mins away. I highly recommend this AirBnB. It is clean, modern, well appointed and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating.

Our stay at this Airbnb was nothing short of fantastic; the host was incredibly accommodating, and the space was clean and beautifully decorated, making us feel right at home! None of our Airbnb did, but Mia provided the best breakfast, the kids love the freshly made breads!

What a fantastic house to stay in, it really feels like you are in Italy. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was lovely to have the open fire for the colder nights and the well setup outside area for the warm sunny days. There were heaps of activities and games to play. We loved our family stay here.

We really enjoyed staying at Sue&Ron's place. It was nice and cozy. The view was spectacular. Sue&Ron are very friendly. We highly recommend their place🤗

Great spot. Sue and Stephen provided milk as well as tea, coffee and snacks. Much appreciated.

Pretty little cabin. Didn’t get too cold, short walk to the toilet ( 10m aprox I would say). Kitchen is a bit far but not too much, you have to walk next to the guest house to get there. Beautiful landscape and horses. Host was friendly and gave us our space and privacy. A thing we noticed is they don’t give as many essentials or amenities as we have found in other places and Internet was very poor. Overall, we enjoyed a lot our stay!

Another lovely stay at Adrienne’s. Her place is spotless, comfortable, beautifully designed and the pool was so nice as the weekend was very hot and sunny. It’s a peaceful spot and has everything you need plus a few extras. This is definitely our favourite place to stay in the Hamilton area and we will be back.

Susan's place was great! Very comfortable, very clean and neat. The surrounding area is very peaceful. She had everything we needed at hand. We aren't used to the cold, yet she had heaters for each room available which kept us warm nicely. Thank you Susan for your hospitality!

Accomodation was great, very handy for anyone looking to be close to the Racecourse. Tidy space and easy to find and check in. Dayle was very friendly and accomodating.

Perfect place to rest after busy days at Fielddays. Would recommend if anyone wants a place in the country but still close enough to get to Mystery Creek and Cambridge. Wish we had more free daytime hours to really see what the place looked like but it was everything we needed, great little pantry and fridge stocked with breakfast and drinks and nice and warm with heatpump and instant hot water in the shower. Jane was lovely and so kind :) Thanks so much for allowing use the use of your place :) - perfect also for leaving our trailer somewhere safe with security around it

Steve and Pauline were so accommodating! Pauline met us on arrival and talked us through everything we needed, they both provided recommendations for all the activities we planned on doing during our stay, which were extremely helpful! The best part of our stay was the outdoor hot tub where you could view the stars for miles, it was incredible. Thank you both, we will definitely be back next time we’re in the area! X

Mum and Dad loved staying at Maria’s place. It was perfectly situated and had a large grassy area for their small dog to run around. Maria was lovely, very friendly and responsive. I would highly recommend Maria’s place to others.

Really beautiful place to stay, quite close to Hobbiton and Matamata. Nice distance from other houses if you're looking for a more private location. Caren is lovely and really responsive.

Michele and her husband were very friendly and helped me get my car to the right place after I took the wrong turn. Follow their instructions, not Google maps once you start going down the driveway 😉. Had a fantastic stay.

Great little cottage in beautiful surroundings, not far from Hamilton or Cambridge

From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were welcomed into a home rather than just a place to stay. Denise went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, offering helpful tips, local recommendations, and making us feel truly valued. The space itself was absolutely incredible—cozy, thoughtfully decorated, and so inviting. It really felt like a home away from home. This stay truly felt like a dream, and I can't thank Denise enough for creating such a warm and wonderful experience. I would absolutely recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a special and memorable stay!

Melissa and Charlie’s home is beautiful and peaceful. Getting to meet all the animals was so nice! Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay.

Every detail was thoughtfully curated — from the fresh baking that greeted us & supplied during our stay, to the beautiful, luxurious bedding that made for an incredibly restful stay. The space was spotless, cozy, and stylish, with everything we needed and more. Sue has truly created a warm and welcoming haven. We can’t wait to come back!

This place is what makes Air BnB a good platform to use when travelling as you can find little gems like this in secluded places. The cottage was pretty much spotless, had all the amenities we needed to cook breakfast, lunch & dinner daily and the kids toys, books and games were an added bonus. The views from the living room and bedrooms are beautiful and having a fireplace to warm us up at night was the cherry on top. One of our favourite Air BnB's we've ever stayed in.

This place was amazing! The views were gorgeous. Our toddler loved the enclosed patio and was OBSESSED with Ginger the goat. The house was immaculate and the Cai was so helpful and available for any questions or guidance. Everything was so thoughtfully put together and the amenities were wonderful. There was even a drawer with items that were available if we forgot a hairbrush ect. We absolutely loved staying here and it was about 20 mins from Hobbiton. The local town of Cambridge was also so cute and had everything we could ever need! Thank you so much Cai and Mike!
