Cottage holiday rentals in Middlesbrough

We had a fantastic stay at Tim’s place! The location was perfect – just around the corner from local amenities and right in the heart of town. It was also only about 10 minutes to the forest and around 30 minutes to Whitby, which made day trips really easy. The hot tub was spotless and ready to use as soon as we arrived, and we were greeted with a lovely bottle of Prosecco – such a thoughtful touch. Tim was an incredibly responsive and understanding host throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back in the future

Sundial is a beautiful cottage, central to Skelton. The cottage is comfortable and has the convenience of a downstairs and upstairs bathroom / shower and a separate utility room. I booked Sundial for the hot tub and this feature didn’t disappoint. A superb way of relaxing after a busy day. We visited Saltburn (walkable along the Cleveland way) and Whitby (I highly recommend the Park & Ride). Before coming home I drove to Marske-on-sea where my dogs and I enjoyed a gorgeous walk along the wide, open beach. Marske has a dog friendly cafe (The dog house) if any dog lovers are reading this review!

We had a lovely couple of days at Laburnum Cottage, it’s a beautiful cottage and location. Hopefully we’ll get back one day.

3 Railway Cottage is a fantastic base to explore the amazing beauty of North Yorkshire. The cottage is located a 20 minute walk from the centre of Pickering but is in a really quiet and private location. The only exception of course is the opportunity to wave at the heritage railway trains that pass at the back of the cottage a few times a day which is really amazing, especially if you wave from the comfort of the hot tub! I can’t recommend this location highly enough, it is a really comfortable and well equipped cottage in a fantastic location - what more could you ask for?

Julia was a brilliant host from booking until check out! The cottage was absolutely stunning and so was the surrounding areas. Julia was very friendly and helpful, we went as a group of work friends and was being a little too loud without realising, Julia was understanding and just politely asked if we could quieten a little outside due to neighbours, to which we apologised and enjoyed our night. I would definitely return in the future, hopefully with the family for a longer stay. Thank you so much Julia!!!!!

We had a fantastic stay here for 4 nights. It was beautifully clean and had everything and more we needed. Such lovely hosts, very responsive should you need them. Great location! Such an easy drive to a lot of places. We visited Whitby, Scarborough, Pickering, Thornton Le Dale and more! All under 1 hours drive away. Cottage is so homely and very welcoming 😊 Amazing that each room has their own en-suite. Beds are so comfy! Downstairs bedroom was great for us with someone in the party having mobility issues. Games room is a fabulous touch! Sauna and hot tub both very clean. Highly recommend to stay here. Thanks for a wonderful stay 🥰

We love Rambling Rose Cottage! Dawn is a great host - all the extras - wine and chocolate on arrival, things like salt and even tea, coffee and milk to get you started. My daughter loves this cottage so it’s becoming a tradition to come for her birthday! Thanks so much Dawn! We will be back!

We’ve had the most wonderful time staying here. The Loft is spotless, beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The views from the hot tub are breathtaking , it’s genuinely like stepping into a postcard! The perfect location for exploring The Dales. Claire and Neil are very welcoming and thoughtful, providing great recommendations. We’d thoroughly recommend staying here and would not hesitate to book again! Thank you for having us x

Lovely cottage ,clean and spacious with lovely views also really appreciated the extra touches like the flowers ,cake etc , really makes a difference

Perfect! Exactly what we wanted, the cottage was pristine and equipped to a high standard with everything you need. Although dogs are welcome you would never know that a dog had been anywhere near. The location is secluded and peaceful with great views with horse stables next door and horses in the field. Swallows nesting in the stables constantly flying around. The enclosed garden is ideal for dogs to wander freely safely. Joanna is a great friendly host responsive and only too happy to help. Would highly recommend!

The cottage was perfect for our weekend doing a bike event. It was clean and tidy. We liked the fact we could get the cars off the road.

We absolutely loved our short but sweet stay which was perfectly located for the wedding at Danby Castle. The Airbnb is spotless, spacious and has the most breathtaking views. And in addition to that Ann was very kind, responsive and accommodating to any additional needs we had. Thank you for allowing us to stay here and we hope to return to soak in the area a bit more next time!

Beautiful little cottage, clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We loved watching the amazing variety of wildlife including curlew's with their chicks in the wildflower meadow behind the cottage. Being located on the top of a hill, the views are stunning as are the sunsets. We highly recommend Hilltop Cottage and will be returning hopefully soon. Anna was a perfect host, quick to respond to any questions. The cottage is in a great location with lovely views overlooking the fields. The cottage itself was nice and cosy, well laid out with all the facilities that you'd need. Everything was clean and easy to find. The welcome card and hamper was a nice touch. There are lots of walks around, we had two spaniels, we took them around the village and on the old Teesdale railway line. We also went up to High and Low Force waterfalls which is only a 15 min drive away. A great weekend stay despite the Saturdays weather. Would definitely book again if we go to the area.

A very well presented cottage, walks straight from the door. Peaceful and impossible not to have a great night’s sleep. And very good access instructions …. no hunting around for key safes after a long journey ! Everything was clear and easy.

Lovely cottage, super clean, lovely to get a little pack of cleaning cloths, oven gloves and tea towels. Very easy instructions and quick responses. So private and very peaceful. BEAUTIFUL garden, so lovely to walk around early in the morning with the dog. Extremely safe. Everything you need in this little gem.

Saltwater cottage was absolutely fantastic! In the perfect spot near the harbour, it’s literally steps away from the best spot to watch the sun going down over the beautiful cliffs surrounding a Staithes. The cottage was squeaky clean and had everything we needed for a fab stay. Bed was super comfy and cosy shower was perfect and living room lovely to sit with a glass of wine. We ate in the Cod & Lobster and the Royal George both were great. Lovely cliff walk to Runswick Bay is also recommended. Staithes is a really stunning village and we’ll definitely be back to stay at Saltwater cottage!

The Granary is a beautiful and cosy place to stay that is accessible to many fantastic places such as Dalby Forest and the coastline. The accommodation is beautiful and we were made to feel very welcome where nothing was too much trouble. The animals were an added bonus. A truly outstanding place to stay that we would highly recommend. Thank you Duncan and Adrian.

We absolutely adored our stay in the Little Barn. We felt so at home there. Everything about it was really comfortable - the sofa, the bed (REALLY comfy!), the furnishings, and the warmth of the place (good heating). The kitchen had all that we needed, and we loved being able to use the outdoor pizza oven, enjoying homemade pizzas and a bottle of Prosecco on the last night (Rebecca had very kindly left us the Prosecco and lots of other lovely things; eggs, coffee capsules for the coffee machine, some lovely chocolate - thank you so much!). The surroundings are really cool - the moors are so different to what we’re used to (coming from Hampshire/Surrey) and the walks through them and out onto the Dales were just spectacular. The view from the cottage was very cute; sheep and rabbits nearby. The cottage has books in it with great suggestions as to what to do/where to go, which we used to plan our outings. Truly a wonderful stay and we will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful place, as Bev says - the place gives you a warm hug. Relaxing, quiet, and perfect rest for us and our anxious rescue dog! Lovely being near the river, lots of birds and wildlife nearby. Felt right at home and hope to return again soon!

Great accommodation with all amenities you could require. Walking distance from bars and restaurants, with easy parking Friendly and proactive service. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return In future.

We loved staying in this cosy terraced cottage a few steps from the shops and superb restaurants on Yarm high street, and from the glorious Tees river walk. It was a very convenient place from which to visit my Dad and explore the area. This is a comfortable home in an historic building with small rooms and characterful features including slightly uneven floorboards and steep stairs, which were a breeze for me, my husband, 12 and 14 year olds, but might be less convenient for someone with mobility issues. The house has been beautifully decorated to maximise the space and light. Everything worked and it was spotlessly clean with a lovely functional little kitchen and great bathroom with plenty of hot water and space. We parked outside at night / on the Sunday, and found one of the suggested car parks just a minutes' walk down the road for the other daytimes. Overall it was a lovely stay and we hope to return next time we visit my Dad because it is such a great property.

Gorgeous house, so cosy, perfect location to stroll out on to the local high street, which has some lovely cafe's , a pub, gift shop , fish & chip shop, brilliant butchers and more just less than a 2minute walk away so perfect for that self catering stay.
