Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Mills River

I really loved staying in Liz’s cottage. It was so peaceful and private. A perfect home base for our girl’s trip to the North Carolina mountains. The little stream that runs behind the cottage was one of our favorite parts. A great place to have some quiet time in the morning. Liz was also so responsive and helpful to the questions that I had. I cannot recommend enough.

This was a lovely home with great views. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Even dropped off dishwasher liquid. Everything was clean and today and well laid out with instructions and helpful tips. There was a gas grill we used to barbecue and a fire pit. Privately location but fast access to stores and such. Highly recommend.

we loved this little house! it was perfectly located between Brevard & Hendersonville. the neighborhood felt safe for us. (2 elderly sisters) The beds were very comfortable. and the house was stocked with everything we needed. and given the opportunity, we'd stay here again. Jerica was a wonderful host and very quick to respond to any questions I had. Highly recommend. this sweet little house!

Wonderful stay at Andrea's place. Everthing was clean and felt like home moment we walked in the door. Bed was amazingly comfortable, linens and bathroom towels spotless and of excellent quality (Im very picky about this)! Beautiful big yard that our dog enjoyed. We also sat out and enjoyed the view. We loved Andrea's coffee shop right across and hit it every morning!! Wonderful convenient location to all you may want to do in the area. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again. Beautiful private home. The pictures do not do it justice of how gorgeous this home is. Enjoyed walking in the creek, and relaxing in the living room. I would definitely recommend for a peaceful vacation home. Lita was a fantastic host!

This was our second time staying here. Absolutely love it! She is a fantastic host! The location is gorgeous!! Close drive to a lot of great shops, restaurants, hiking trails, and breweries! She is a wonderful host and her dogs are great too!!!!

This loft on the mountain was a perfect retreat with a great little view off the deck, yet a short drive right into downtown for shopping and restaurants. We even saw one of the "locals", a white squirrel, playing in the tree right next to us! Everything was clean and neat. Julie was great to send directions ahead of time, and especially great at communicating with us during our stay is we had any questions. We'll be back!

Caleigh and Timm were wonderful, responsive hosts. Super communicative, and the place was exactly what we expected. Would stay again!

This is my second stay here, which I rebooked on the spot during my 1-night stay last year. I stayed 5 nights this time to attend a dance weekend at nearby Warren Wilson College, a mere 7-minute drive. The space was very clean and well equipped abd felt very private, despite actually being attached to the main house. The hosts were attentive and responsive to my needs and were friendly, helpful, abd informative when we happened to run into each other outside. Wildlife was abundant, and I really enjoyed watching whatever might happen along from my own front porch. Fireflies at night, birds galore, roosters crowing nearby, chipmunks, butterflies, and yes! I actually saw 2 bears one day, each at a separate time, wandering on different sides of the yard. One of hosts alerted me the day before that there were 2 in the yard, but I missed seeing that (he did send me photos), and the day I saw the bears, I sent him video and he sent me a photo of a coyote that had been out there earlier.

We LOVED our stay at Elizabeth’s! We were two humans plus a dog and found the unit to be very comfortable. There were so many incredibly thoughtful touches that made our stay so lovely. It really did feel like a little home away from home — which was perfect for our little WFA (work from Asheville) adventure. The house is well stocked with everything a traveler could need. And the yard is perfect and secure for any furry travelers. The location is convenient to Asheville and in super close proximity to some great hiking in the Bent Creek forest and around the NC Arboretum. We will absolutely be looking to stay here in the future! This spot is such a gem!

We stayed at Lynn’s place for a few days while visiting family nearby. We appreciated the clear instructions and easy check-in. The Airbnb was very clean and comfortable- we were able to find everything we needed with ease. There are a lot of thoughtful touches that make this place special (we loved the towel warmer in the bathroom). Lynn was very friendly and accommodating and provided a comfy high chair for our 10 month old baby. Thank you!

Our stay at Hiker’s Hideawqy was perfect. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed for coffee in the morning, meal prep, and tea in the evening. It’s a great location too. I’m sure we will be back!

Schuyler’s place is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. The view is gorgeous! We will definitely be back soon!

This was BEYOND what we could've imagined ! Midalia's place was welcoming and absolutely beautiful inside and out ! Not only was there gorgeous views, but so many good spots around town to check out ! I also appreciated how responsive Midalia was. Any questions or concerns I had she was quick and super helpful ! If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with endless activities and restaurants nearby, this is the place for you !

We had a great stay at Donna’s. It was clean and comfortable, and Donna is very responsive.

We stayed in the cabin for a death in our family March 2025 and wanted a place clean, relaxing and quiet and we got just that!! We did have a "tiny" issue but when Tamra found out she was on it, and it was corrected quickly and we even talked on the phone, and she was the sweetest person. The Cabin was clean and comfy and so relaxing, and the beds were so comfortable also. We would definitely come back to stay & recommend it to anyone!!

I really loved the location, my room and bathroom were perfect. They were responsive, and quickly, whenever I had a question. Their place felt like a second home for the moment. I loved it!

Lisa went out of her way to make her condo a great 'home away from home' experience. She was very personable and it was obvious that she loved being a great host, after all, she is great at it! We don't travel a lot, so it was very important to us that this was going to be a memorable experience. It was that, and more. I won't hesitate to make a return visit.

Excellent location to explore downtown Asheville. Accomodation was exactly as described in the listing. Comfortable bed and has everything necessary for a short stay. Appreciate the additional information John provided when he found out we were in town for a concert. Having a parking spot and WiFi was important for us.

Our group was new to Asheville and we all felt so at home, comfortable, and cozy in this condo. Parking was easy and we were able to walk to breweries, shops, a co-op, restaurants, and a music venue. Highly recommend booking this place for your trip!
