This was the perfect spot for our short stay in Kyoto. Central enough, but on a quiet street. The room had all that we needed, and we appreciated the free use of the washing machine.

Good place to stay in Osaka, spacious rooms

This place is the standard that others should always strive for: professional, personable, and kind. If I visit the area again, I will be definitely be looking to stay here again.

We had a pleasant stay. The room was very comfortable, clean and convenient. The bathroom is clean too, and there is an excellent washing machine! I really recommend this wonderful place!

Chie & Chris's place is located in a tiny, very quiet alley in the heart of Gion. There are several temples & shrines located within walking distance, & we found incredible restaurants nearby. They gave us clear instructions on what to tell the cab driver to get there, & self check-in was easy. The accomodations were pristinely clean. The master bedroom with a large Western style bed is upstairs, & the steps are steep which was no issue for us at all but might be for elderly, injured, or handicapped folks. My 6'5" husband had to be careful to duck under door frames because of his height but staying in a historic machiya was worth the small effort. Our 14-year-old son slept on a futon on the main level & loved it. Communication was excellent, & they gave us numerous recommendations for restaurants. There is a Lawson konbini & a grocery store close by, as well as a quaint bar across the alley. We loved being within walking distance of the action coupled with the quietness of the night.

We spent 8 nights in Osaka, and Tony's place was perfect. Nakatsu station is ~5 minutes from the house, and you can get anywhere from there. Tony was phenomenal, meeting us when we arrived, showing us how everything operated at his place, and then taking us to the train station on our departure day. Tony is great and his place is great. I could not imagine staying anywhere else now. Phenomenal host. Honestly, the best we've ever had, and we've had great hosts. Book now!

We stayed here for few days during our Japan trip. The house was beautiful and you can get a true guesthouse experience. Location was good, in a quiet neighborhood and not too far from public services and some good temple sights with almost zero crowds. Owner was very kind and responded quickly to any questions. Book this if you want to experience living in a traditional Japanese residence.

Our host Ichiashi responded to messages instantly, which always made us feel safe, and was always open to questions. The house was like a dream, you feel like you are in a Japanese house. The bicycles waiting for you in front of the house are perfect for experiencing the spirit of Kyoto. The host has even prepared a map for you for places to visit in Kyoto. Peace flows in through the windows overlooking the backyard of the house. Everything from iron to plate, from coffee to shampoo, even bath salt for the bathtub has been thought of inside the house. We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful traditional Japanese-style home in Kyoto. The house perfectly blended old and new, with charming touches like tatami mats and modern comforts. The beds were very comfortable, and the home was spotless, well-equipped, and thoughtfully arranged. The location was ideal — just a 5-minute walk to Nijo subway station and within 10 minutes of Nijo Castle, one of Kyoto’s main attractions. Our host, Hori-san, was incredibly welcoming and shared great local tips that enriched our trip. She also gave us a warm tour of the house, helping us feel right at home. We highly recommend the ‘Memory Kyoto Bike Tour,’ which starts just five minutes away. We’re so glad we chose this place and would happily return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic and comfortable stay in Kyoto.

The location of this house is excellent, close to the JR train station, and there are many supermarkets, restaurants and attractions nearby, which is very convenient. We stayed in Nara for more than ten days. Living here is very convenient for walking to various parts of Nara city, or taking trains/buses to various parts of Nara and Kansai. All the tools needed for washing, drying clothes and simply cooking food are available in this house. The noise and vibration caused by the passing train are minimal and have almost no impact on life. Our host Kyoko was very friendly and tried her best to help with everything. She prepared a rich breakfast and snacks for us, and also invited us to another of her properties to enjoy the Wakakusa Yamayaki and fireworks, and said goodbye to us at home when we left Nara. Kyoko is the best host I have ever met and I would really recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy Nara life.

Lovely clean place right in the heart of Osakas Dottonburi district, close to everything and right near the station so it was just perfect. Great communication and easy to find, would totally recommend. Thank you Sakura 😊

All in all good!The kitchen is fully equipped, there are basic living items, and the homestay owner is also very friendly, helping to carry your luggage upstairs!But there are a few places I think it can be mentioned, first of all, the equipment to regulate the water temperature in the bathroom is more complicated, didn't understand at first, it took more than 15 minutes to turn to the heating water (go to the cold water first, then move the hot water slowly, there is warm water).The second is that although it is only 4 minutes from the nearest MTR station access, the entrance with the lift is 8 minutes away and is slightly inconvenient.
