Guest house holiday rentals in North Kona

This is our second time staying at Mango cottage. The location for snorkeling is unbeatable, and Puako is such a peaceful little town. Less than 5 min walk to the snorkeling at the keyhole at the end of the road. The cottage is comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The outdoor shower is lovely, and it was so fun to hear mangoes falling on the roof and “catching” them fresh. A/C in the bedroom helped a lot. Scott is a considerate host. Was sad to leave, would love to come back soon.

This is a perfect little spot for a vacation or if you have family in town. The power went out for a couple of hours and Malis met us at the door with a lantern. She was friendly and responsive, considerate and kind. The space itself is adorable with a comfortable bed and a wide variety of appliances. I highly recommend!

We love this area. We stayed for several weeks and loved it. The bed is super comfy and the elevation is perfect - no AC needed but still just 15 minutes to most things. loved it!

Stepping out of my car, I was greeted by Karen and we walked through the magical lights towards my place for the night. There was a little “welcome Annie” sign at the door. Karen then walked me down to the beach to see where I could snorkel in the morning. This museum like home is full of LOVE. Art, Elephants, surf boards, even a buddha gong. Unfortunately for me, it was also full of little spider roommates that hung high above the bathroom and bedroom. The occasional spider is okay, but to have that many eyes on me was unnerving. I couldn’t stay a second night. I know, I know….I have an unnatural fear. I didn’t see any other friends. I would stay here again if I was with someone else. The bed was super comfy…. and the shower was heavenly. That was the best part for me! The fridge and stove were dirty so I opted out of eating there. ‘The Coffee Shack’, is a very delicious restaurant with an amazing view!! Call ahead to get on the waitlist.

great location, easy to find. Plenty of parking for both of our vehicles. safe, quiet, clean, plenty of room. We used the beach chairs that were provided and checked out the snorkel equipment. Annette was super quick to respond to all of our questions. We felt very comfortable and welcome. It worked out great for us to share with our son and daughter in law. We were only there late at night and left early each morning. Great set up!

FABULOUS!! This was the most perfect landing spot for my vacation to Kona. This cottage is about 30 mins up the mountain from Kona. There’s breeze, ocean views and the jungle sounds at night at absolutely magical! The house is private, clean and spacious with plenty of outdoor space. We would stay here again in an instant!

Loved staying at Chris and Karla’s! Our boys not only enjoyed the pool but all the little wildlife around. Us adults loved the ease of the bnb, it had all the things we needed for a great family vacation. Close to everything we wanted to see and the road was great to run/walk in the morning. Chris and Karla are great hosts, they think ahead of so many little things that make your stay more pleasant. Would highly recommend this place to stay!

Lovely peaceful spot. Waikoloa Village continues to modestly grow, with more food and coffee options and a good gym. Cooler in the evenings than staying down on the coast, and only a short drive to the amazing beaches. The hosts are friendly and responsive. Look forward to staying there again in the future.

Libby’s cottage was a beautiful place for our time on the Big Island. What a welcoming place and she went above and beyond in welcoming us. We so appreciated the extra touches and conveniences. Thankful for her fantastic dinner recommendations, too!

Essentially your own little home with the most beautiful view of Kailua-Kona. We stayed just one night after our tour of the Big Island before heading to the airport the next afternoon, but this would be a great spot to park it for a whole week as a base camp. We hit up the Manta Ray tour at Manta Ray Advocates the night before and came back to a relaxing soak in the hot tub and stargazing afterwards. Fully stocked kitchen and pretty much any condiment you'd need in the fridge. And we really appreciated the chance to do some laundry midway through our trip to Hawaii.

Nana is an exceptional host. It was easy to follow her instructions to Check-in & check-out. She is super responsive and offered great local recommendations.

Beautiful place! As locals we will be back again TJ enjoy the waterfall and stream! We felt right at home and envy this location! Well worth the stay!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! A private oasis minutes from restaurants and many of the activities we booked. Brittney was the perfect host! So sweet, always quick to respond, thorough in her instructions, provided perfect instructions and recommendations in her notebook, and checked in on us via text a couple times throughout our stay! We wish we could stay longer :)

Chris and Hannah's place was exactly as described, and just what we needed for a base for lots of different Big Island adventures. Hannah reached out a few times to make sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly. IF you are not a confident parker or have a big vehicle, make sure to let the hosts know so you can swap cars for street parking. I was Austin Powering into the parking space every evening in a rental Chevy Malibu, but considered it an opportunity for personal growth as a driver.

KoKo cottage was the perfect little place for our family of 4. It was centrally located, clean, and had enough space for us! While the cottage did not have AC (which I will be honest at first worried me with a baby and toddler at the start of summer), the fans and tips of keeping the windows open actually cooled the place down considerably (especially at night— we even were chilly!) Luke and Shelley were super responsive hosts and we loved our time on the Big Island!

The place was spacious enough for three people and very comfortable. The location was great, with beautiful views and a nice café nearby. We really enjoyed our stay!

Joe was super friendly and easy to communicate with. The pool and hot tub are as amazing as they look in photos! The landscaping is beautiful and we had the entire outdoor area completely to ourselves the entire time.

We loved our stay at Julya's place! The lanai is everything! I will definitely try to stay here next time I'm in Kona.

Our stay at Paula's place in Kona was absolutely perfect! The location was incredibly convenient for exploring, and the place itself was spotlessly clean. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like the provided snacks, the dedicated parking spot, and all the fantastic beach gear – the umbrellas, chairs, and boogie board made our beach days so much easier and more enjoyable. The AC was a dream, keeping us cool and comfortable. Everything was just wonderful. Highly recommend!

A quiet, cool spot to get away from the crowds and beach area. We enjoyed the temp drop when you climb in elevation to the house. The area seemed very safe and I never worried about theft or trouble. Nice area with nice people around the house. You will be about 20 minutes from Costco and are at a central starting point to go north or south. We didn't spend a whole lot of time at the house other than to sleep and be out enjoying the Big Island.

Highly recommend this place, very clean, and well decorated. There was enough room for two and the bathroom is a beautiful design/set up. We enjoyed the recommendations they had in the guest book. Would recommend anyone to stay here. It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle on the main drive but close enough to a main road for easy travel to the rest of Kona.
