Family-friendly holiday rentals in Nueces River

We stayed a week at the river hollow retreat. We got lucky recent rains had the river over a two feet high in most places the fist couple of days. The property was beautiful and if you want peace and seclusion with no other people in site this is a great option. We had a 5 yo boy and a dog and never did we worry about where they went in the river. The location is great close to anything you may need but far enough away from kerrville to feel you are in total seclusion. The hosts were great and very tentative to your needs if they arise. My family will go back to the river hollow retreat.

Tim’s place (Rio Bajo) was very delightful! We enjoyed sun bathing by the river, watching Tim’s bird feeder attract many cardinals and all sorts of beautiful birds, hot tub time, star glazing and so much more! Thank you Tim for sharing your beautiful place with us!🙂

The love shack was perfect for a weekend away! We grilled, enjoyed the hot tub, relaxed by the fire ring and on the back porch with gorgeous views. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed, from fire wood for the fire ring to k cups for the coffee pot, and lots of clean towels. We came down for a motorcycle rally, and scenic rides, but this was such a perfect little cabin, that we will absolutely be back. The host was thorough with the instructions, and super friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We were secluded but not too far from grocery stores or restaurants, they were just a little drive away. The bed was SO comfortable too, we both slept great! We had a wonderful time here at the love shack, and can’t wait to come back.

We had an excellent stay, it had very beautiful surroundings with deer coming on the property in the mornings for a beautiful sunrise view

The location was exactly as described and conveniently located for our purpose. The condo was very clean and modern. Overall, we were very pleased with the total package.

This is a lovely home with many amenities and great space! The home is located at the end of a very quiet, small road, and is just a few blocks away from main roads. Kristin was friendly and helpful, start to finish, and we had a great stay!

Great place, great location and easy access to the NW side is San Antonio. Carlos communicated well, everything in the house was clean, neat and cozy.

My family and I had been searching for a home that would have the space and such that we needed. We found Vanessa’s beautiful home and it was more than expected. We had an amazing time and my kids enjoyed the pool so much. My husband even made a comment that he would buy her place if he could! Vanessa was a responsive and accommodating host. I couldn’t have asked for a better host. Thank you for everything! We are looking to rebook if plans don’t fall through for next year!

This is our second time out to the property. The property was just as if not more beautiful as we remember. The cabins were also very clean, welcoming, and warm just like last time. We love it out here!!!! Bruce and his lovely wife are absolutely wonderful people!!! We will definitely keep coming back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house and deck were so Nice. Seeing the deer every morning and evening was such a treat. The massage chair was awesome. The hosts answered all questions quickly and were always kind and helpful. We hope to return in the Fall. Thank y’all for everything

We had an amazing time at this house in Kerrville. The photographs of this house just don’t do it justice - It’s even better in person. The location is 10 minutes max from town and has the most lovely views from the backyard. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals from scratch- probably the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever had in a vacation rental. The beds are very comfortable. The living space was roomy and had such interesting artwork. The back porch was a delight to sit out on any time of day. The pool was a little chilly the weekend we were there but that’s just because a big storm system had gone through the night before. We still had a fun afternoon in the pool. If you are not there in the height of summer and want to swim, you might want to consider paying to heat the pool- but remember that you need to do that in advance. We would highly recommend this rental home and hope to return.

Had a lovely few days in hill country at this place. Very peaceful neighborhood, no loud neighbors , plenty of birds chirping and occasional deer trodding by. Bandera isn’t the most lively town, but if you were searching this region for a place, you probably know what you’re getting into or this is close to what you’re attending or visiting.

Our family of four spent four nights here. It’s such a unique spot, with the house being just above a shallow part of the river running over rocks. The sound is incredibly peaceful. The property has a long riverfront that you can enjoy, ranging from the rocky shallow areas to a deeper section where you can start canoeing. We used one of the canoes, plus there was one single kayak and one SUP. A 15-20 minute paddle puts you at Angel Falls which is a beautiful area to splash in the water or just relax. We caught some little bass along the way. The area has fun activities as well, including The Point Theater and Crider’s Rodeo & Dancehall. The house itself could have been cleaner but the location felt so amazing that we didn’t really care. So thankful for the opportunity to stay at this magical property! Truly unique!

Book this place! This property is made up of Wyndham vacation villas perched at the top of a hill with amazing views. The property is beautiful, the rooms are very nice, and customer service is excellent. There are several lakes on property for fishing and a beautiful pool for swimming. There are limited pictures on this site but many more if you go to the Wyndham site directly. This is a perfect getaway for those looking to leave the business of the city to get out to a more remote place. 20 minute drive from several public spots on the Guadalupe River. There were a couple issues with my reservation but the host took care of them quickly. I can’t say enough great things about this place. We will be back.

The inside was beautiful and made you feel like at home. It was very quiet and the town is beautiful. The only thing that really needs attention is the outside of the home. It has too many dead plants and the corners of the home was surrounded by wasp and you couldn’t sit outside comfortably. The area of the hot tub had too many dead plants and others were so near the entrance that we found three scorpions on top of the cover of the hot tub/ I understand nature but fumigation and a little cleaning over the plants and keeping them trimmed and treated I don’t think there is a necessity for those creatures so near a home. I really hope they can fix up a little outside and be able to visit again.

Beautiful place. Beautiful view. Tons of fun things to do. *I totally missed in the description that it’s a studio space with a Queen Murphy bed. It turned out fine, but that was a surprise.

Beautiful peaceful place to stay, loved the jacuzzi tub and the bed was very comfortable. The fire pit was a perfect touch for the clear nights to see the full moon and the stars. We loved our stay!! We will definitely be back.

Great Stay! Everything was as described, and the host was wonderful. Very organized and communication was the best! Comfortable beds, lots of room for our party of 4, and it would accommodate a larger group easily. It is obvious that the host takes pride in the property and wants the guests to have a wonderful stay, which we did. Would highly recommend.

This was the perfect place to stay when we came to BMT Graduation. Theodore was an amazing host! There were stadium seats, umbrellas and a cooler for us to use. The house was perfect for our Airman to come back and relax after graduation. There is plenty of space. I would highly recommend this place to any family visiting the San Antonio area, especially if you are hoping to be close to Lackland. Theodore had amazing communication and was very responsive. The house was clean, cozy and looked exactly like the pictures. Thank you Theodore for helping make our stay so wonderful!

Our stay was wonderful! The cabin was perfect and it was a beautiful property. Upon checking in, the bathroom door was locked and the host had someone there to fix it in minutes! Highly recommend staying here
