Great spot! It is close to the road, so there is some road noise. All of the outlets have USB and USB c, making charging a breeze. The stove is a little small and there isn't much for cook ware, but we were able to make it work. On a positive note, there were beach chairs, an umbrella and a small cooler available, which came in handy at the beach! When we ran out of soap and TP, the host was very responsive and supplied more. Also, I suggest taking the garbage out every morning and not leaving any food scraps on the counters to avoid dragging the bugs out of their hiding places (especially the ants and fruit flies) 😅 There is one room with a queen size bed and a room with two super singles. Our youngest had to sleep on the couch, but he didn't complain too much. Overall a great stay for my family of five.

I was beyond impressed with her property. She has a stack full of goodies that you need for vacation and cooking. It has the perfect location for exploring both Kona and Hilo in addition to all those good beaches. Again, can’t say enough good things about this property and the management.

Beautiful house with tasteful furnishing. A bit cramped if the tv is pulled out because the tv is set up on a rollable cabinet but still very beautiful and comfortable place to use as base for exploring the volcano national park. Host is friendly and communicative.

we spent a week in Matthew's place and would be happy to come back on a future trip. The house is large and full of good stuff - games, kitchen stuff, and more. The immediate surroundings are beautiful as is the view from the porch. Matthew is extremelya helpful and thoughtful. He really cared that we will enjoy our stay. Indeed a five star host. Ocean view is about 90 mins from Kona airport. I suggest not arriving at dark the first time - the area is dark and following the maps app we entered one driveway too early - backing up at darkness was scary. Make sure to follow Matthew's instructions and not just the app. The driveway to the house is not fully paved. However, after you see the way once at daylight it becomes easier. overall, we could use the place as a most comfortable place from which we could reach volcano national park several times and many beaches. it was good to be back to a cosy place at night. We would be happy to do this again!

Such a relaxing and comfortable space, listening to the wind in the forest and the afternoon clouds was very peaceful. We canceled our day plans one day just to relax and read in the yard, and enjoy the space, it's a really lovely home.
