Genes place was very clean,and comfortable. lots of space and nice kitchen area. ceiling fan is a life saver as it can get warm but everything worked great and the the view from the balcony is nice over looking the pool with all the greenery. Mahalo to Gene and O'hana!

Thank you Melissa for sharing your beautiful 5 star home. This home is immaculate! I can’t say enough about the furnishings, views, privacy, cleanleness and the pool. We loved sitting back and enjoying the ocean views. We did enjoy the last day by the pool, reading, and taking a nice refreshing swim. It was a great way to end a long vacation. The recommendations for food and things to do were helpful. The beaches are gorgeous and low key. We will be back to visit Hilo and when we do, Melissa’s place is where we will stay.

This place is magical, and if you let yourself settle into it, you will feel the aloha all around you. The mango cottage is nestled in the jungle, with high ceilings and a spacious place to be one with the life all around. The windows are open (with bug nets) so you really feel immersed in jungle life. There is a river stream flowing out into the ocean a 10-minute walk away. Two beautiful local beach parks within a short walk. Come ready for simplicity and peace and that’s all you’ll end up needing. This place is good for those who want to take a slower pace to island life- to feel connected to the local village and community. I joined the zazen meditation twice a week and there were many books n the property about Buddhism, which I liked learning more about. The mango cottage is tucked away so you’ll have your privacy, but if you want to be social you can easily hang out with others on the property. Akiko is full of life wisdom 💚 mahalo nui, I would love to be back here again 🙏

Beautiful home, the waves put me to sleep every night as well is the comfortable mattress. Kids enjoyed playing Pac-Man and watching the Nena from the back deck. Coffee and the sunrises were the best. Thanks a lot!

We've stayed in this condo complex last year for Merrie Monarch and really like the location. The view was amazing! Walking distance to restaurants/coffee shop we frequent. Everything was clean and we appreciated having access to netflix, etc, when relaxing at night. We never cooked, but noted that the kitchen was well stocked. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay in the unit again.

This was one of the best airbnb's we have stayed so far. This place was equipped with everything we needed and more. We loved our stay as a couple. They even gave us wine bottle and fresh delicious lychees. Fridge was stocked with juice and more lychees as well. Hilo was just 17 minutes drive and had nice restaurants. Overall it was wonderful and would recommend everyone to stay here.
