At the foot of Mt. Insect Kura, at an altitude of 800 meters, rice terraces, and tin roofs, there is an old house in a small village with nostalgic scenery right in front of you. It was built in the late Edo period, and it was opened in the early Meiji period.I have relocated since I liked the presence, settlement, and location of the house itself, including the thick pillar, and since then I've built up self renovation.It is constructed using old wood to preserve the historical texture. The floorboards are reuse of chestnut wood and rice shelves laying under the tatami mats.The paved stone from the garden is a Goemon bath, and the warehouse used in Nagaya Gate is reused at the entrance. I spend the summer with only a fan.On the other hand, I think there is a creaky wind in the winter and it feels very cold, but it is also one of the things that I would like to experience is the creative way to live a little warm, such as a self-built ondol (floor heating) and a Goemon bath. Azumino Earth House

This is a guest house that was renovated by a 100-year-old farmer and his friends, located in an apple orchard at the foot of the Northern Alps. The name is Azumino Earth Hostel. Families with children can also stay with peace of mind. Enjoy a delicious meal with the host and the guests who stayed that day. ※ The price is 7,000 yen, which includes dinner and breakfast. (* Alcohol is sold separately) Children's rates are for elementary school to high school students, toddler rates are for young children to older children, and children under the age of one are free. In winter, a heating fee of 500 yen will be added. Nearby there are also hot springs with good views, the Alps Azumino National Park where children can play all day, and wineries. We also have agricultural experiences in the fields that the owner runs, and in the summer we play in the river and do Nagashi Somen. It's been 10 years since I moved to Azumino and opened this inn because I wanted to create a place where people could share their dreams and thoughts and connect with each other. Located in the heart of Hakuba Valley, this natural stone villa was newly built, nestled among the trees in a holiday homes area. It overlooks the Japanese Northern Alps. The backyard deck view of the birds’ daily visit to the birdbath will make you feel healed and relaxed.
