Conveniently located just 30 km from Pisa airport, the cottage makes a great home base for various day trips: 14.5 km to Lucca; 39 km to the beach of Viareggio; Florence or Volterra are an hour away. There is a bus stop a short walk from the cottage and the nearest train stations are Altopascio (12km), Lucca(15km) & Pontedera (16km).

Agliano is a small and delightful village near Lake Gramolazzo, a few km from Lake Vagli Sotto known for the submerged village called "ghost". Nearby, in Gorfigliano, is the old church of the early 1700s with the Museum of the Identity of Alta Garfagnana "Olinto Cammelli". Possibility of sports on the lake.
