Honestly one of the best host I’ve encountered here on Airbnb. Super responsive to any and all questions and concerns. Beautiful home, exactly as pictured. Would absolutely stay here again!

The view alone is worth the price! Everything was so lush and beautiful! We felt like we were in our very own private resort. We enjoyed the spacious house itself and the outdoor area. The pool was great and the beds were super comfortable! This was a great base to explore the entire Big Island of Hawaii! I would recommend this home to anyone! Just book it already!

We had a great stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was perfect—close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The host was friendly and responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

Such a beautiful, peaceful and private property. Postcard views everywhere you look. Clean, comfortable, and well appointed. It was hard deciding each day if we should head out and see the various sites or stay and enjoy the house. By far the quickest responding hosts we've ever had the pleasure of staying with. Our stay couldn't have been any better. We can't recommend this place enough!

We enjoyed the private and peaceful location and it worked out well for our brief stay on that side of the island with a reasonable drive to some areas that were just too far from the west side of the island. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the AC as my husband gets hot and sweaty at night without it. The frogs were loud at night but the fan helped cover the noise so we appreciated it. We didn't get the chance to meet our hosts but had a great stay overall and would happily stay again in the future.

Absolutely perfect! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow—what a gem of a place! This tropical paradise is everything we hoped for and more. The home is spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and feels both comfortable and luxurious. Our group toured the house in amazement of all the little touches that really added to the experience. Breakfasts on the Lanai were relaxing. We truly wished we could have stayed longer! Chase, our host, was outstanding—he’s incredibly responsive and helpful, and his guidebook was a lifesaver. We followed his advice and headed to The Kea’au Deli to pick up lunch before heading to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. Everything was so delicious, from the coffees and teas to the sandwiches and salads. For dinner, we tried another recommendation - Kaleo’s, just down the road, and again, the food and atmosphere were amazing. Chase and his family clearly know the area inside and out. Staying here is living in paradise—highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing experience!

Hilo Shangrila is a stunning, private oasis that provides the glory of the ocean without the busy crowds. We loved sitting on the cliffs and watching the sea turtles! Also had a few crabs and a mongoose while we sat and watched the waves. We also enjoyed being able to swim and look at the ocean at the same time! Amazing! The hot tub was fabulous as well, especially after getting out of the pool. The place is private which was fantastic! One neighbor doesn’t live there and the other keeps to themselves for the most part. There are a few people who come and stand and walk across the cliffs from nearby rentals but they don’t stay long and they move on quickly. We enjoyed the birds, and watching the geckos. The coqui frogs can be a bit much for those used to extremely quiet places when we sleep but we were usually tired enough from enjoying the day that it didn’t matter. Beautiful Maku’u Point was right up the road as well! The only bad part is having to use fans and ac machines. A+

Gina was very friendly but also gave us plenty of privacy during our stay! She gave us amazing recommendations for restaurants and places to visit! If we come back we will 100% stay here again. Her garden is gorgeous and the cliffs behind the house are amazing and we saw spinner dolphins swimming there on our last day at sunrise. This is about an hour from the volcano and we were able to witness an eruption. The bed was comfortable and the pool was so clean and refreshing! I highly recommend staying here!

Yonnell’s place was so nicely equipped! Everything was there from spices to soft towels to a nice welcome bag of snacks , well stocked kitchen, drying racks. - to anything you could need… even a multi-connector charger! Peaceful, residential neighborhood though a short drive to town and many things to do. It was Mabe 40 minutes to the Volcano National park and we happened to be lucky enough to be visiting when it began to spew. Resturant recommendations were helpful. Beds were comfortable.. ceiling fans in every room. Can’t say enough great things!

We booked The Whale House for our Big Island stay. Only four of us were there - 3 kids and an adult - but this house could easily hold several more. We used the 2 bedrooms on the main floor and one of the bedrooms on the lower floor. Each bedroom comes with its own bathroom, which felt like such a luxury coming from city living. My daughter loved the decor. She enjoyed that each room had its own theme. We were in the dolphin room. The kitchen is very well stocked. The garage has beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, coolers, and other beach supplies that came in handy as we explored. The backyard was so lovely. We enjoyed exploring the different flowers and plants. The view of the ocean is unmatched. The sunrise and moonrise were both visible and stunning. We were so lucky to find the Whale House.

Perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing.

Joe and Cindy's place was such an amazing place to get to experience! It's definitely a must for anyone looking into staying on the East side of the Big Island of Hawaii; especially if you like seeing the sun rise!

Lovely home! 2 adults, 3 kids age 12-19 stayed for a few nights. Amenities for all. Nintendo a hit. Yoga mats a treat, ping pong fun, beautiful back deck view. This place is in a quiet residential neighborhood and was a garden sanctuary to rest and relax with our family after a day of exploring. The first day of our trip we didn’t even get out until 3pm because we felt so at home! Nice kitchen, well stocked. Great laundry room. Easy drive to town. Got a bunch of interesting fruits at the Saturday farmers market in Hilo and feasted on them outside on the back deck table watching the birds. Garden paradise. Peaceful and relaxing home. The frogs are loud at night, we loved it.

Iliahi gave us instructions and recommendations, also prepared the place well before our arrival. They were friendly and helpful. The place was exactly like what was shown on the site. It is right in front of the ocean. We enjoyed the stunning ocean view right from the balcony. Thanks, Iliahi!

Awesome place, so peaceful & very close to Volcano National Park! Absolutely perfect place to stay if planning a trip to the park!

We loved the location and having our morning coffee on the back deck with the distant ocean view. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. Although the host gave detailed instructions to arrive at the property's gate, it is recessed from the road and easy to miss especially if you arrive after dark.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This place felt like home in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood. It was so perfect for our needs. 2 hours to South Point area/Green Sand beach. Less than an hour to Volcano National Park. Half hour to Pahoa beaches and geothermal ponds. Super clean, well stocked with amenities, very responsive hosts. I would absolutely stay here again.

We love “unique stays” and this was so unbelievable peaceful and luxurious and so uniquely beautiful. It was the most perfect place to stay to make the most of Volcanoes National Park. Would absolutely recommend!!

Brian is very nice and responds enthusiastically to all kinds of queries. The house has a beautiful view and you can enjoy a very nice view of the ocean from the comfort of your home. The rooms are also very well appointed. The kitchen is very well equipped with a dishwasher and a wide variety of dishes. The washer and dryer were also great. It was a very desirable house and we had a great time here.

We had a party of 6 which included a 6 and 9 year old. The home was clean, especially the bathrooms and kitchen you felt right at home. Although no AC it was still comfortable with the fans and we would be out during the day where it was hot the most. The tv was available and the kids enjoyed it. Loves how there was lots of sitting space and layout of the house. Two bathrooms helped so much with the 6 of us. The outside porch was terrific too. Labels on the light switches helped and were thoughtful. A very convenient location. Thankful for airbnbs available like yours !

Remote (and we like remote), private and quiet setting. Off the grid, but comfortable. Location a bit of a drive, but great for viewing lava and wave action on the beach. Not swimmable though due to recent lava flow. Awesome stay.

The place is a beautiful gem! Everything was super clean and they responded to our texts right away. They had a basket full of goodies for us, so thankful for that! They were on the top floor and we never heard a sound from them; the neighbors were very friendly too! Cozy beautiful place! We loved it! ❤️

We had a wonderful stay! The location was fantastic and the views were absolutely stunning. The space was beautifully decorated, cozy, and well thought out. The host was very communicative and made everything easy from start to finish. We’d love to come back!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here! The house was absolutely wonderful, and just as described! Located close to Hilo, which was very nice. We loved the spacious front porch and yard outside. It was perfect for drinking coffee in the morning. The portable AC unit allowed for a cooler bedroom at night, which was great for us! We’d recommend staying here to any couple looking for a secluded spot on the Big Island!
