Places to stay in Henham
2 Hall cottages is set in the beautiful suffolk countryside 2 minutes from coastal town of Southwold. The cottage backs onto Reydon woods and is a quiet peaceful place to stay. The bathroom is downstairs and I do have two sweet little doggies. Plenty of parking and bus route to most other towns and villages. Directions; Coming from the A12 take the Wangford turn off and follow the road for 1.5 miles my 2 Hall cottage is the middle one of three opposite Wexford House.
Cosy cottage offers a friendly, relaxed and happy atmosphere like a home from home.
I live in a lovely little Hamlet with just 7 properties so quiet, countryside views and it is an area of out standing beauty.
  • Warm and cosy. Lovely host

  • Vanessa is a lovely lady, very easy going and helpful. I loved the quirkiness of the house. The bed is very comfortable and slept soundly both nights I stayed. The location is very peaceful and ideal for touring the area. The bathroom is down stairs which may not suit all. I would definitely stay again

    Elaine2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa was welcoming, and the accomodation provided everything I needed for my night's stay.

    Stephen2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kind and friendly host and a lovely character cottage. Everything was as advertised and Vanessa was very helpful - allowing me to arrive late in the evening and giving me a lift the following morning so I didn't have to wait for the bus

    Fiona2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa's place is compact small house in the middle of three with a single extension housing the bathroom at the rear. It is set in the most idyllic rural setting with nature to the front and back, being on the outskirts of Reydon. There is a sign for Wexford House opposite but it is hidden by trees. The venue room is to the front and I did not need to close my curtains at all, it was no private! The room is well proportioned with a lovely small sofa positioned by the window so there is view of nature. It's brilliant value for money, I had an extremely good rest before moving onto my next destination, and Vanessa is very hospitable. It does what it says on the tin, with the cherry being the gorgeous rural setting. Thanks Vanessa!!

  • All good - quiet and convenient

    Jon2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy room, warm comfy bed. Vanessa is very helpful.

    David2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa is a good host, very helpful and a calming influence if like me you’ve just played golf badly at Aldeburgh! Location is 5 minutes from Southwold and in the country side, i enjoyed my time in the sunny garden eating breakfast. Bedroom was comfortable and clean, internet was very good and of course there is off road parking on the premises. Two dogs bark on the first meeting and then you wouldn’t know they were there, lovely temperament. Bathroom is downstairs through the kitchen which i didn’t find a problem.

Sleeps 6 I 2 King Bedrooms I 1 Twin Bedroom I 1 Bathroom I 1 En Suite Shower Room with Separate Bath
The light and airy living/kitchen/dining room sits at the heart of this characterful property - cosy in the winter thanks to the wood-burner with cooking chamber; perfect for indoor/outdoor living in the spring and summer with wall of glazed doors opening onto the deck. The original beamed wooden ceiling remains from days gone by when the property was a coach house where the horses and coaches could be taken into the pond for cleaning. All three bedrooms are generous and stylish, with the master on the ground floor being particularly lavish with grand four-poster bed, free-standing bath and en suite shower room. Fascinating artwork belonging to the prominent art collector owner is displayed throughout, this superb accommodation. Fishpond House sits in an exceptionally tranquil spot on private land, conducive for total relaxation on a short break or holiday with friends and family, with just the owners house, peacocks and frequent donkeys for neighbours! The hot tub gives the ultimate in decadence, sitting on a deck furnished for dining in the dappled light filtering through willow trees overhanging the pond. Ground Floor To the right of the hallway is the master bedroom with double doors to the deck and door to the shower room. There’s a step down to the main living area and open tread stairs to the first floor. Reclaimed wood flooring from a gymnasiam runs through the house. Living Space Step into the hallway with cubby holes for your footwear, hooks for your coats, an open treadstaircase to the first floor landing and a step down to the living space. The area is cleverly divided with traditional kitchen units running along one wall with a built in oven, four ring ceramic hob, upright fridge/freezer (four drawer), built in microwave and a washer dryer. The unique dining table sits in the light by the windows with six spindle back chairs; a gorgeous wicker hanging chair is positioned so you can curl up with a good book or simply gaze at the view. Furnishings are sumptuous with a chic velvet sofa and chair, footstool and retro-mirrored coffee tables, all snuggled around the TV and wood-burner where you’re sure to have some fun making toast or baking a potato in the cooking chamber. Master Bedroom Simply gorgeous with the four poster bed taking pride of place beneath the double height beamed ceiling, opposite double doors to the deck - convenient for the hot tub! The luggage rack invites you to unpack with a corner unit providing hanging and shelf space. Additionally there’s a bookcase and desk/dressing table with chair under the window. For added indulgence there’s a modern free standing bath in the corner of the room with hand shower. En Suite Shower Room The double shower cubicle has a rain and hand shower; there’s a WC wash-basin and heated towel rail. First Floor Open tread painted stairs rise to the first floor where both bedrooms and the bathroom open off the landing with desk and chair. The first floor also has wooden floorboards and beautiful beamed ceilings. Bedroom Two The Juliette balcony is a special feature in this room that has a king-size bed, side shelves and plus a cupboard with shelves for your storage and hooks on the door if you’re wanting to hang some clothes. Bathroom Conveniently between the two bedrooms. Natural light from a skylight above the bath floods this charming bathroom with its feature Victoria and Albert claw foot bath, reclaimed sink, WC and heated towel rail. Bedroom Three Wake to the view of the pond and fields beyond. Twin beds sit either side of the door with bedside units and there’s storage in a wardrobe with hangers and a shelf. Outside Fishpond House sits on a private estate with an uneven private drive taking you past fields and round the back of the property where you'll find parking for two cars and an external plug for anyone needing to charge an electric car. A wooden deck wraps around two sides of the house, overhanging the pond on one side, with furniture for outside dining and doors from the dining/kitchen area making it easy to eat in the open air. The hot tub sits on the deck at the side of the property, conveniently close to the master bedroom. At the side is a lawn with graceful willow trees rustling in the breeze however, due to the grass being sown in the winter, the area's not well established as yet.
This substantial holiday house is in a great location for exploring all that the picturesque Suffolk Coast has to offer, with fashionable Southwold just six miles away with a sandy beach, iconic pier and excellent range of shops, eateries and, for beer lovers, home to the famous Adnams Brewery. From a practical perspective, the market town of Halesworth is just three miles away, with a good selection of both independent shops and supermarkets, a railway station with connections to Liverpool Street and The Cut Arts Centre with a two-week arts festival in the autumn. Halesworth Golf Club is close by, there are plenty of amazing walks and cycle roots, fishing and sailing close by. Bird lovers are sure to enjoy the fantastic birdlife right on the doorstep or go further afield to Minsmere Nature Reserve.

Quiet & relaxing, perfectly positioned for exploring the Heritage coast (and with an eclectic book collection!) "The cottage has been everything we could possibly have wanted in a holiday retreat - warm, comfortable, divinely pretty and romantic!"
Welcome to Mill End From May to the end of August our aim is to let weekly Friday to Friday, short breaks will be considered at short notice if we have no weekly bookings. From September to the end of April any booking will be welcomed subject to our minimum of three nights. Please note we have seasonal pricing so make sure you have entered the dates you want to stay to get the right cost Recently refurbished, with new kitchen and new double glazed windows. Upstairs is the large, light, south facing bedroom with king size bed, armchairs and a coffee table. There is a TV with DVD player and a selection of DVDs. The bathroom is adjacent with a bath and a shower. Downstairs is the newly fully fitted kitchen/living/dining room with TV. It is a small room but sunny in summer and cosy in winter. There is a sofa bed for the occasional guest(s). (£15 for linen or bring your own) The kitchen has an oven, microwave and a 4 ring hob with cover which acts as a splashback when open. There is also a larder fridge, a freezer, a toaster and, of course, a kettle. There is a downstairs WC. The cottage has oil fired central heating. Immediately outside is a south facing terrace with a large table and an electric awning. If you have friends/family in the area you can entertain up to 10. The awning can act as a sunshade or an umbrella so even if it is drizzling it is still possible to be outside. It's an extra room! There is parking for one car. You have an exclusive private garden area - south-west facing, with a table and chairs and 2 "rocking loungers" ideal for relaxing and sunbathing - see picture. The whole garden, of which this is part, is designed mainly for wildlife - shrubs, trees and many scented hip bearing roses.
The Suffolk coast has many attractions. We have wonderful sunrises as well as sunsets in our garden. We have good bird and wild life. We are 3 miles inland from Walberswick and Southwold and close to Dunwich and Minsmere with many good walks. As well as the White Hart in Blythburgh, which has wonderful views over the estuary, there are excellent places to eat in the surrounding villages (The Anchor at Walberswick and Mains at Yoxford are in the good food guide). The nearby cafe at Darsham Nurseries has had very good reviews for unusual dishes. There are a number of farmer's markets and shops close by. Blythburgh is famous for its large and beautiful church, known as "the Cathedral of the Marshes". Concerts are held here as well as at Snape Maltings (25mins drive) during the Aldeburgh Festival and at other times of the year. The Latitude Festival (mid July) takes place about a mile from the village.
  • Highly recommend this gem of a place. Lovely cottage, courtyard and garden. Very peaceful, comfy bed, great shower. Felt like a real haven from away from busy lives.

Eastwood Lodge is a great place to start if you’re looking to relax in the exuberant countryside of Walberswick. The entire twin unit is for yourself. You'll be in the heart of the Suffolk Coast National Nature Reserve, just 4 mins drive or 15 mins walk from Walberswick town and its stunning coastline beaches. Walberswick have the best salt marshes around. The lodge dates back to the 1900 and still keeps its historical rustic nature and traditional roots, perfect for a relaxing holiday.
The lodge is composed of four separate units: On the ground floor brings you the main unit and on the first floor, three more units with different set ups to meet all different guests needs. The newly refurbished, self-contained studio sleeps two people and has a spacious bedroom overlooking the garden. The studio has two single beds, a fully equipped shower and a separate kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and also comes equipped with crockery and cutlery, however please be aware these are not cooking facilities.
The surrounding scenery is very accessible; there are plenty of woodlands and beaches to explore which are walking distance from the property. You also have the famous Blyth Estuary, which is just behind the property and is upmost a pure haven for bird watchers and nature lovers. The property is located within the heart of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty nature reserve. A very beautiful area surrounded by breathtaking aspects of nature. You are just 4 minutes drive or 15 minutes’ walk from Walberswick town and its stunning coastline beaches. In the Town, you will find food stores, pubs and restaurants to suit all your needs during your stay. Suffolk coasts have large areas of protected wild naturals habitats along the coast, which includes beach, dunes, forest, heathland and the river Harbour. Dunwich heath is a 10-15-minute drive which is owned by the National Trust. Many beautiful areas with mixture of exuberant views to see. You will also have access to RSPB Minsmere, which is 20 minutes drive from the property known for the many species of birds they consist of alongside fellow birdwatchers. There are also many other attractions which is open most of the year round and you will find more information in the leaflets provided at the main entrance giving a more in-depth of the locations/opening times/prices etc. These include visiting Framlingham Castle, Orford Castle, Stonham Barns Owl Sanctuary, Africa Alive (zoo), Eastern Farm Park and more. If you walk/drive into Walberswick you are then able to walk over the Bailey bridge and you are then in Southwold, which is most definitely worth a visit. You can also use the little ferry, which takes you over the harbor once again ending up on the Southwold side.
  • The upstairs twin apartment is an ideal little bolt-hole for a rural stay on the Suffolk coast. The lodge is about a 10mins walk into Walberswick, but only 1min in the car. There is a little Co-Op store in the village. This is a rural stay on a farm, so ideal for getting away from it all. The heating is really effective, the WiFi good and the shower was great. The breakfast bits were nice - milk, cereals, bread OJ and yoghurts - ideal. Do be aware there is no hob or oven - just microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, but as long as you're aware it's fine! The half hour walk to Southwold can be done across a bridleway (so off road) and is lovely. I would re-book another trip without hesitation.

    Mark2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A comfortable stay and welcoming to our dog. Lots of good walks and some excellent places to eat. Takes a little while to warm up in cold weather and the plumbing could be better, but this wouldn't prevent us from returning. Working wifi, TV and refrigerator are nice touches.

    Leo2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge was delightful. Super clean, nice touches with the breakfast, good location and overall, great value!

    Paul2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here! Paolo responded quickly, gave us the use of a cot bed free of charge and was very accommodating to our needs. The place itself was easy to find and enter. It was very clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the special touches that were left - milk, butter, bread, croissants and teas and coffees. Walberswick itself is absolute beautiful and you are just a short drive into the village from here. Thank you Paolo.

    Kara2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nice fresh room in a quiet location just out of the village but great to head off over the common in several directions for the great walks. Comfortable beds and clean and quiet.

The kitchen is well equipped and any qualms I had about cooking Christmas lunch in a strange kitchen were quickly eased! Lovely towels and toiletries provided, and a few kitchen basics. There are comfy beds and a good shower and bath. We had a relaxing few days and caught up with our daughter who was in panto at Lowestoft. Thank you Alison!

  • My friend Tom and I had a great stay at Kal’s place. We had a quiet and comfortable stay and a delicious breakfast. Kal even gave us a drop in Southwold in the morning. Lovely family. Highly recommended.

    Thomas2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • I really loved my stay with Kal and his family. The rooms are lovely and oldy worldy. It was very hot the days that we were staying and there were harvesters going by but that didnt deter us from having fun. The family is very caring and giving offering to take us to Southwold and giving us a beautiful breakfast. All amenities were really good and I thus would highly recomend them although it us best to have your own car!

  • Had the loveliest stay for my husband’s birthday - despite the constant rain! Would definitely recommend.

    Jessica2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The photos do not do it justice. It is gorgeous and so very clean. The setting is beautiful and I was simply blown away with it all. My only disappointment is that I didn’t find out about this place earlier in the year but I will be booking up again in April when it reopens. The bathroom was spotless and much better than other camping/glamping sites that I have experienced. The kitchen amenities were more than I expected...infact I had completely overpacked and took plates etc that weren’t needed as they were already there. All in all it was a perfect stay with perfect hosts...thank you x

  • Ann’s place is a spacious, clean, unique, two bedroom apartment near Southwold. Amazing views all around the building with access to a gym, games room and large clean swimming pool which we struggled to keep the children out of once back at the apartment. You can expect regular communication from the host who recommended lots of places for us to visit as a family. We went during October half term and found lots of Halloween trails. This place is great for couple or small families.

  • A spotlessly presented house with lovely facilities, especially the swimming pool which we used every day. We loved it!

    Lee2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 6 night stay at Graham’s place. The house was immaculate, newly decorated and very light and bright. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels including extras for the pool, well equipped kitchen - everything we needed. Our boys (12 and 10) loved the pool - early morning and late evening they had it to themselves most days. There were a few families there late afternoon, but it was never too busy. The table tennis and pool table were also great to keep the boys occupied. Graham provided some useful recommendations of things to do and there are plenty of places to visit within a short drive. Lovely beaches that were not at all busy even on a sunny day in the school holidays. We had a very relaxing time and I wish we could have stayed longer.

    Jo2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant 6 night stay in this lovely house. Everything in it is of high quality and I got some design ideas from it! It’s conveniently located for exploring Southwold and Suffolk in very peaceful surroundings. Our son loved the pigs just down the road. Having the swimming pool on site made it have a real holiday feel. Graham was an excellent host leaving very clear instructions about the property and was available if needed although we didn’t need to contact as the stay was very smooth. The space in the house was brilliant for us having our bedroom on the same floor as our 3 year old who enjoyed the very comfy single beds and we had the grandparents upstairs with the en suite. I would highly recommend this house, we shall hope to return!

    Suzanne2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Blyth view! It was a great location, the kids loved the pool which we used every day. The house was stylishly decorated and very clean. We loved the welcome basket which was left for us and was unexpected. The kitchen was stocked with all the things we need but forget to bring like dishwashing tablets, oil, foil etc. Great hosts and great communication! We will definitely be coming back again in the near future!

Kate's Cottage is in a peaceful village that has a local store within a 5 minute walk. Located only 3 miles from Southwold and Walberswick this is an ideal place for couples and families to explore the area. The stairs in the property are steep and turn a corner so may not be suitable for people with mobility difficulties.
  • Excellent base from which to explore the Suffolk coast. Charming cottage - not huge, but more than big enough for our family of four. Super village, with pub ,shop etc close by. Cottage faces the church - lovely view. All in all, very much recommended

  • We stayed here for New Year’s Eve and it was the perfect quiet Suffolk getaway. Kate’s cottage is a wonderful little spot just a 10 minute drive from Southwold. The cottage itself is beautiful, the bedrooms are comfortable and spacious. Amenities are great and the full kitchen is very appreciated. We will be back again for sure.

  • Thank you for the use of your cottage. A last minute booking but so glad we did. Fab little cottage, next to a great pub with very high quality food. A great hub to explore the area. Children friendly with lots of toys. Beautiful village, opposite a church full of traditional character, great and reasonable priced village shop and a great park for small people. Thank you once again.

  • Nice cottage and ideal for exploring the surrounding area.

    Tom2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at Kate’s cottage. It was just as we expected. The stairs are very steep and there’s not much head room so probably not suitable for tall or less able folks. Beds were comfy and it was just a short drive, about 10 mins from Southwold. Would recommend the Angel pub just a few steps down the road, excellent food and atmosphere. Local shop, again very close, well stocked and friendly.

  • We had a fab time here. The cottage is in a great location with a dead end at the end of the road so very little traffic outside. Opposite a church which has areas which encourage wildlife so a bit of a sanctuary. It was very pretty in July. The Angel Inn was fabulous. Lovely staff. Very friendly and accommodating for me and my two children. And the Village shop with great playground behind it, makes it ideal for children. When the wind got too strong at the beach in Southwold, there was plenty for us to do in Wangford. I think this place is a bit of a hidden gem and I have a feeling it will only get better. The cottage is quaint and was ideal for us. The children loved the staircase which is quirky but fine for us little people. The bathroom being downstairs wasn’t an issue. We liked being there and would definitely return!

  • We stayed at Kate's Cottage as a base for a nearby wedding and it was perfect for what we were looking for. The cottage is cute and well furnished. The beds were very comfy although some of the door frames and the bathroom ceiling are low if you're tall, as was expected for the style. Sophy was very helpful; she provided the number of a great taxi driver and recommended the local Angel Inn which does lovely food. An overall great stay

  • Fionas house is wonderful. A place that you can call home as soon as you arrive. Nice and clean. Feels homely and welcoming. High recommended.

    Karla2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend Fiona’s place to stay. The house was fantastic, location, clean, swimming pool and all the touches in the house were fabulous. Our only regret was we wish we had stayed longer. Fiona was fantastic at communicating prior to the trip - if you are staying in this area a must to stay at - I know we will be returning.

    Rebecca2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful with outstanding amenities. Well and tastefully furnished and decorated. Very large living room and bathroom with well equipped modern kitchen. Have stayed in more than 20 Airbnb - this ranks among the very best. Instructions clear with well researched list of local services and attractions. Communication with Fiona was perfect. Highly recommended.

  • A lovely, modern holiday home in a good location close to the Suffolk coast. Has everything you need (and more!).

    Rachel2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay. Even better than expected. Our 18 month old loved the pool which is nice and warm. Good location for exploring Southwold, Walberswick etc.

    David2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Blyth View, the place was sparkling clean and perfect for a family holiday with our little ones. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need. Communication with Fiona was very easy and a comprehensive information booklet was available at the house. We don't want to rave about the stay too much, as we hope to go back frequently and we don't want it to be booked up! Seriously though, this was one of our best Airbnb experiences., and the swimming pool was a real bonus.

    Helen2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Well located, spacious house, in great location. The on-site pool and games room were a massive bonus. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will be returning at some point in the future.

  • Lovely place tucked away in the country, place was nice and clean and very private. Host was great, I couldn't have asked for any more. Great stay

  • Great stay at Debra's place. The Secret Shed was the perfect getaway in the English countryside and a lovely cosy night in.

    Alexander2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the Secret Shed. We were running in a nearby race in Dunwich so the location was perfect for us. The space was a lot bigger than we were expecting and lovely and quiet and secluded. Debra was really helpful and had left lots of breakfast goodies which were greatly appreciated. We’ll definitely be back!

    Ruth2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

  • Debra fitted us in at the last minute due to our booked accommodation having to cancel at the last minute. The Secret Shed is 15 minutes away from Southwold and Minsmere, so for us, location wise ideal. Facilities are brilliant; offroad parking, a serene and tranquil spot, a very spacious accommodation with everything that you could wish for including great breakfast items, a brilliant wet room, lovely comfortable beds, sofas, games, DVDs and lovely touches like fresh flowers on the table. Debra was there to meet us and to give us a quick tour round the accommodation explaining important issues such as heating but then leaving us to enjoy the peace and quiet. We would certainly return if in the area again.

You're welcome to enjoy our beautifully renovated home away from home. Our cottage is very private and surrounded by a beautiful garden. With 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and 1 wet room, it sleeps six & is family friendly. There's a fab pub a few minutes walk, we're surrounded by nature trails and only a few miles to Southwold, Walberswick and Dunwich.
Our holiday cottage is private, comfortable and our home away from home - settle in and make it yours as well. Recently renovated, the cottage offers you three bedrooms, one bathroom, one wet room, two sitting areas and a large kitchen diner. We've done our best to make it comfortable and a pleasure to relax in. Our home especially suits families with toys, a trampoline, high chair, cot etc all available for you to use. What we love most about the cottage though is the garden - it's huge, private and very pretty - a real change from the city. Located in the heart of Blythburgh, it's a stones throw from walking trails, a fantastic local pub and the Blyth River. Easy riding and driving distance to Walberswick, Southwold and Dunwich, along with all of the natural and foodie spots of Suffolk's coast. Finally we have a young child and often have children stay, as such, the cottage comes equipped with a cot, stair gate, high chair, toys, trampoline and kids eating gear.
Blythburgh is a pretty, unspoilt village located 3 miles from Walberswick, just over 4 miles from Southwold and surrounded by walking and cycling paths. It is a small, quiet village with an historic public house serving fabulous food, beautiful views of the estuary and the famous 13th Century church known as the Cathedral of the Marshes. There is also a village shop and post office. Literally just across from the house are walking paths - perfect for rambling or running.
  • Clean and comfortable house in a lovely area - fantastic walks just minutes from the house and great local area.

  • What a beautiful home, exactly as described, if not better! Sitting by the warm wood burner in the Lounge was perfect after a day of walking. The cottage was well equipped and really beautifully decorated. Perfect area for us, near all the local villages of interest. The pub, the White Hart in walking distance, we would definitely recommend, extremely welcoming and gorgeous food. We can’t wait to return!

Hall Farm Shepherd's Hut is situated in a field behind the farm buildings in the peaceful Blyth valley. With Southwold, Walberswick & Minsmere less than a ten minutes drive, this back-to-basics experience provides the perfect place for exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Shepherd's Hut, which is over a 100 years old, provides a simple but charming away-from-it-all experience. The Shepherd's Hut has a half glazed door opening onto a narrow veranda facing the rising sun. Inside, the Hut has a raised double bed with goose down duvet and pillows, a washstand-bedside table, a cupboard and a fitted side table with seating for two. With no electricity, hurricane lanterns are provided for light. Extra blankets are provided. Less than a minute's walk away is the shared toilet and shower room facilities located in the farmhouse on the ground floor. A continental breakfast, including freshly ground coffee, freshly baked croissants and home-made bread, is delivered to the veranda. Lighting is provided by battery operated hurricane lamps. Centred around a fire-bowl and shaded by a mature ash tree, are a bench, table and a hammock. A tree swing can be found on an oak tree further down the field. Cars can be parked next to the Shepherd's Hut or in the car park by the farmhouse. The setting is ideal for those who desire simplicity and tranquility.
  • Totally charming!

  • Annie was a wonderful host, we had a great nights sleep, an incredibly relaxing morning, loved the homemade breakfast & lovely views. We will definitely be back!

    Jack2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was THE BEST Air BnB that I have ever stayed in, and believe me I've stayed in a lot! Can't recommend a stay at the Shepherd's Hut enough. Everything was perfect, the hospitable nature of the hosts, the beautiful setting, the thoughtfully decked out shepherd's hut, the BEST breakfast in the world, the tips on the area, the chats, and even a leaving gift of a marrow from their vegetable patch! If you like the beauty of being outdoors, but with the comfort of a proper bed and a roof over your head to sleep (glamping), with goose down duvet & pillows and fairy light lanterns, this is the place for you. The hut is in a meadow all of your own, with a fire pit (we BBQ'd sausages on the grill for hot dogs, and marshmallows for Smores!). There's a hammock to relax in, and even better that we could add Annie's homemade elderflower cordial to our Prosecco, then lay back in the hammock and enjoy. The stars at night, incredible. The peace & quiet, only interrupted by the hooting of an owl! The evening mist coming in from the sea, the morning sun bathing the whole area. Annie & Bob, as per everyone's reviews were the best hosts ever, giving us lifts from the train station, and to the beach, and giving us tips on where to go and what to do on our stay. And just generally lovely to chat to. The farmhouse where they have 2 x B&B rooms was lovely, and we got to use the shower room and toilets in the farmhouse, so warm and clean, rather than any outdoor shower debacle! The breakfast... what a surprise! A hamper packed with freshly baked bread (by Bob), homemade marmalade, honey & jam (by Annie), warm croissants, stewed fruits from the farm, fresh fruit salad, vanilla yoghurts, fresh cafetiere coffee, apple juice made from their orchard apples... the delights on opening that wicker hamper superseded any breakfast at any top hotel! Can't recommend this place enough, and the area is amazing too. Southwold, Warberswick, the area directly around the farm. The local pub just up the road, the Sole Bay Fish Company restaurant that you have to visit, the Sail Loft cafe/restaurant that is just behind the sand dunes of the most beautiful of beaches. Don't take my word for it, just book it and enjoy!! Thanks Bob & Annie, what a place you have and what a stay we had! x

  • We absolutely loved staying here! Annie was a brilliant host and checking in and out was really easy. The shepherds hut was beautiful and we loved the special touches like the history of the area and lovely basket of breakfast treats in the morning. We Highly recommend a visit here!

The bedroom is lovely and the bathroom is a good size. The garden is beautiful too and it's very peaceful around the cottage. There was a folder with places to visit and things to do and Julia had even left a bottle of wine for us. Parking was easy as we were able to leave our car right outside the cottage. We would definitely love to come back for another stay here.

Set in the delightful Suffolk countryside, Strawberry Hill is surrounded by fields so has magnificent views across the Blyth valley. Wenhaston is just a ten minute drive from Southwold with its Blue Flag beach, pier, lighthouse, shops and restaurants. Drive inland and within ten minutes you are in the traditional market town of Halesworth. Enjoy luxury and comfort in the tranquility of the countryside, watching the magnificent sunrises and sunsets, relaxing in our spacious lounge or garden.
I have one double bedroom with newly refurbished shower room en suite. Also a large modern lounge/dining room for your use, where there is another TV and plenty of working space. This leads into a conservatory with comfortable seats. Venture further and you are welcome to stroll or sit and relax in the garden. At breakfast time the courtyard by the pool is the place to enjoy the morning sun. The hammock by the pond is perfect for coffee time, while the seats in the corner by the front door catch the last evening rays of sunshine. We serve continental breakfast (wherever you choose!), but full English is also available to order at a small extra cost. Our solar heated pool is usually beautifully warm by the end of May until the end of September. You can book hourly slots and there is a small charge towards its upkeep. Please let me know in advance if you would like to use the pool so that I can ensure availability.
Suffolk Coastal is an area with a beautiful coastline of beaches and rivers full of birds and other wildlife. It is punctuated by pretty villages and lovely old pubs where you can enjoy a pint of local ale or eat a delicious meal of locally produced food. Wenhaston is a vibrant and delightful village with several heaths, a network of walks and St Peter's is famous for "The Doom". The Cut in Halesworth has a programme of theatre, concerts and cinema; Southwold Summer Theatre is always worth a visit; Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh and of course Latitude Festival are all within a few miles of the village. Birdwatchers will find RSPB Minsmere just down the coast. Take a day trip north, you are soon in the Norfolk Broads and if castles are of interest, we have two contrasting styles at Orford and Framlingham, as well as Norwich Castle with its changing museum exhibitions.

  • Amazing hosts. Anything you need there was a quick response. Lovely place to stay, would definitely recommend.

    Maisie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place exceeded any expectations I had! We stayed in the Hawthorn tent as it looked as if it had the best views from the photos, and it most certainly did. It was also in the far end of the field. We were lucky to be the only people on site so it felt even more like a getaway to have the place to ourselves. Everything is just so wonderful and I can't wait to book to come back again. The little details, the decor, the surroundings and the amenities are all just brilliant. Worth every penny, and a memorable stay for us. Cannot recommend enough, 5 stars all round.

    Beth2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Firs Glamping is perfect for a getaway from it all! Lovely little touches, each yurt is positioned so it feels private-highly recommend staying here-thanks Tom and Sophie!

  • Tom and Sophie are truly wonderful hosts, from us enquiring about our stay, through to booking, even during our stay. They were so helpful and responsive and made our stay so stress-free. The bell tent and campsite are so beautiful , we arrived in the evening and all the fairy-lights were on and twinkling, out tent looked so inviting, everything was laid out and prepared for us, even down to marsh-mellow and hot-water bottles. The showers and toilets were clean and warm and there was everything we needed in the kitchen. Thoroughly recommend staying at Firs glamping, was a really relaxing experience :)

    Vee2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

  • The perfect little getaway location. For a couple or for a little family. The cottage is fully stocked with everything and they provided a high chair and cot bed with no fuss, the separate garden is because and big enough to play in and the hot tub is just a bonus, especially when the baby went to bed... There is even a little outhouse/shed, with a bbq and fire pit too. It was so good. You are not far from Southwold which was ideal for us as it’s a favourite of ours. Highly recommend it here and we will come back.

    Jennifer2019-09-09T00:00:00Z

  • Excellent house, set in a beautiful garden. The location is excellent for exploring the local area, 15 mins drive to Southwold and lots of other attractions nearby.

  • Lovely cottage with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Several pubs serving great food nearby (we especially enjoyed the White Hart at Blythburgh); lots of fabulous places to visit close by - Southwold, Minsmere and Sutton Hoo. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

    Clair2019-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cottage just in the right location between Beccles and Southwold, so cute inside and the kitchen was amazingly well-stocked with everything we needed to cook dinner with! Sam & Stuart are brilliant hosts, communications were nothing less than perfect and so very friendly too.

    Dan2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic place for a break. Highly recommended

    Mark2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great home and made to feel very welcome from the owners who live next door. Nothing too much trouble. Offered loads of advice of where to eat and stay. Home from home will everything you need. Although we were advised they don’t supply the basics there were bits in the home which we used and left bits when we left. The home is immaculate, warm and cosy. Kept beautifully and we were allowed to use their bbq/fire pit and summerhouse. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return.
