The only Corona on our ships is in your yeti cooler (provided)! Welcome aboard Pirate's Life! 1 of 6 stay-aboard rentals we offer. To view all of our boats click on my Airbnb profile. Featured on ‘Tiny House Hunters’ & dubbed “Charleston’s Best Airbnb Experience” Pirate's Life was gutted & rebuilt using reclaimed materials, sweat, & love. You'll find her spacious, tranquil, & comfortable. Enjoy morning coffee with dolphins (guaranteed...ish) & evening cocktails overlooking Charleston harbor.
Featured on FYI Network's Tiny House Hunters! Very spacious houseboat with a vaulted ceiling in the main cabin (living room). Sleeps 3 comfortably. Lots of room to move around with a queen size bed in the Captain's Quarters (Bedroom) and a twin bed in the living room that's a day bed. FAQ: Q: Location? A: Mid-Peninsula Downtown Charleston which is roughly 1.5 - 2 miles to the heart of the historic district. A five minute / $6 Uber away or take the bikes! The boats are located downtown in a private marina where our 5-6 boats are slipped & only shared with a large mega-yacht that rents the outside slippage 5 months out of the year. We rent this slippage from Seabreeze Dry Stack Marina (49 Immigration Street). This accommodation is for people looking for peace and tranquility as the setting of the marina is quiet and secluded. You'll have a stunning view of Charleston Harbor and the Ravenel Bridge. Q: How can I see all of your boats for rent? A: Click on our Airbnb profile (the round photo) & scroll all the way to the bottom below the aggregated reviews (on Mobile) or look to the left (on Desktop). You’ll see all of our listings - or check them out by clicking the link below: Listing Page: https://www.airbnb.com/users/1918595/listings Q: 1 Night Reservations? A: You can instant book a 1 night rental if it’s the same day as your reservation OR if you see on our calendar that your date fills a 1 night gap. We kindly ask do not instant book for 1 night reservations if your desired date doesn’t fit that criteria - especially on the weekend. We handle 1 night reservations on a case-by-case basis depending on availability but can almost always make it work. We will respond to an inquiry within minutes most times, most of the time immediately. Q: Is it comfortable? A: VERY! Our boats are designed with live-aboard / stay-aboard in mind with all the creature comforts of home. Fully stocked kitchens, premium furnishings, updated HVAC, TV, Keurig coffee makers… etc. Q: Any restaurants close by? A: TONS! Some of Charleston’s best are within a mile of the marina. Q: How to book: A: If you don’t have any questions after reading over the FAQ below then simple instant book. If you send an inquiry we’ll respond promptly, if not immediately. Q: Why is the price so different for my dates? A: Airbnb automatically sets our prices based on demand & seasonality. If you don’t search with exact dates Airbnb shows the lowest price throughout the season. Prices range from $99 per night for weekday day-of bookings in January all the way to $499 per night for weekends during peak season summer and everywhere in-between. Q: Bathroom… explain! A: The boat is equipped with an apartment sized (12 gallon) water heater ensuring you get hot water throughout the boat. You'll always have enough hot water to enjoy a 10 - 15 minute shower. The boat has a full sized marine toilet that is easy to use as long as you follow our simple instructions. Q: Heat? Air Conditioning? A: Our boats are equipped with BOTH ample Heat & Air Conditioning. No matter the time of year you can be assured that you will be staying in a climate controlled & comfortable environment. Q: Can we take the boats out & drive them? A: No. We don’t carry any insurance for bareboat charters but we do offer captained Charters on specific boats which are really fun! Charters include sightseeing in Downtown harbor, sunset cruises, full hay & ½ day cruises, special moments like engagements, or anything else you can think of. All charter requests are handled via inquiry & paid through Airbnb as part of your stay. Q: Can I check-in earlier than 4 or Checkout later than 10? A: We will do our best. Most days there’s someone checking in the same day there’s a checkout but we try & go above and beyond if this is requested. Q: Can we fish from the dock or boats? A: Absolutely! We ask that you fish either from the side or front of the vessel & stay clear of the props so your line doesn’t get prop/shaft wrapped. Fishing from the dock is also allowed as long as you mind the props of the vessels. You can easily get a fishing license from the DNR online. We operate on the honor system & don’t check for licenses but ask that you support the local DNR & pay the small fee to make it legal. We don’t supply fishing equipment & keep in mind there are no tackle shops in Downtown Charleston. Shrimp from the local Q: What to expect that's different than a hotel? A: It's a boat, it is a unique FUN experience. There may be noises and smells that you'd expect from a boat. Pumps, motors, ocean water, etc. Every boat is broken the day it hits the water, especially salt water. We take great care of our fleet but we expect guests to tell us if anything isn’t working properly & we will PROMPTLY respond & repair. Q: Waves? A: The marina has a sea wall which dilutes any waves. We are also lucky enough to be tucked behind Drum Island at the base of the Ravenel Bridge. which dilutes almost all the waves from the harbor. There is still a small amount of wave action and you'll feel a slight rock from time-to-time, mostly from boats passing by who don’t respect the no wake zone (feel free to yell at them & shake your first while doing so). If there's a bad storm or the wave action gets to a point that your stay is no longer enjoyable, we will do our best (no guarantees) to work out alternative accommodations for you as we have multiple condos Downtown for landlubbers. Your comfort is our top priority. 99% of the time the marina is almost totally flat and calm. We also keep dramamine on the dock incase anyone experiences sea sickness. Q: Will you reduce your price? A: No(ISH)... Maybe, but unlikely. Don’t expect a price reduction unless it’s the slow season & you’re messaging about days within 1-4 days of check-in or you’re looking for a long-term stay in the off season (see next “Q”). If you message us with a booking that somewhat fits the criteria above & tell us a budget we can try & work with you on one of our 6 boats. “Will you reduce the price of a weekend booking a month away” will always be a “no”. Q: Do you do long-term or monthly rentals? A: We have done long term rentals in the past. From March 1 - October 30 the boats are rented at a 90% occupancy rate so the monthly rate is only slightly reduced compared to the daily rate (around 20%). From November through February we’re much more flexible depending on length of stay & which vessel you’re interested in. It helps us to know your budget and we can tell you if we have anything that could work. Q: Smoking? A: On the outside only & please be responsible. Kindly don’t light the boat on fire. Q: Do you allow pets? A: You bet! We ask that dogs not be puppies, don’t scratch at doors, and don’t bark incessantly while you’re away. The boats are close together & a non-stop barking dog isn’t appreciated. We DEEP clean the boats after pets stay aboard due to future guests’ possible allergies so a $75 pet fee is applied for those who travel with pets. If you have a service dog & try to circumvent the pet fee be prepared to present FULL documentation. Q: Can we hold events or parties? A: No. This is a place to relax. We ask that there be no events or parties on the boats so the other guests can enjoy their stay. Q: You charge extra for more than 2 adults, do my kids count? A: Any child over the age of 13 is considered an adult & needs to be represented in the booking inquiry as an additional guest. Q: Is the marina safe? A: VERY. We have 24/7 surveillance & in the 3 years we’ve been here we’ve never had any sort of issue. We share an entrance with the port authority which has a 24/7 guarded gate. You turn into the marina before the guarded gate but it scares off any would-be pests. The parking lot & dock is well lit & the marina is right off East Bay which is one of the main roads in Downtown Charleston. All boats lock from inside & you can padlock the door when you leave if you wish to lock up your belongings. The marina is only us & we’re here daily looking over the fleet. Q: Handicap accessible? A: No. You'll need to get on the boat which requires a 1-2' step and there are steps on the boat. The deck stairs are steep and you'll need to be sure footed. Q: Parking? A: Yes, you can park your car. Since it’s a small private marina the walk to the parking lot from the boat is only roughly 50-70 yards. Q: Can I trailer my small boat & side-tie it to the boat I rented? A: You can bring your boat but it must be arranged with the marina & there’s nowhere to park a trailer. There’s also nowhere close by to slip the boat so do your research on boat landings. The marina will charge you small fee (roughly $40 - $60 nightly) to wet-slip the boat. Q: Space & Comfort? A: You'll find the layout of the boat extremely spacious and comfortable. The bed is a Queen (ish) size. Queen with slight modifications to fit the space. The shower is tall and comfortable for anyone 6’4” & under. Q: I have a non-profit, will you donate a free stay to my gala? A: I’m sure your cause is worthy, but we get this request far too often so we must decline. Q: I’m a blogger / photographer / ninja trainer… will you barter? A: No. Please don’t ask. We don’t pay our slip rent with your blog posts. Q: Will you partner with my local company or buy my advertising? A: We get penalized through Airbnb if we don’t respond to all inquiries which means we must respond to your spam. You won’t like our message so don’t send it. Q: Will this be the best vacation I’ve ever had and should I book now? A: Without a doubt.
Extremely safe and private marina in downtown Charleston. The entrance to the marina is shared with the Port Authority which has a 24/7 guard. There is a train which blocks the road to the marina leading into the port authority but it only comes 1-2X per day. Sometimes it can block the roadway for up to 20 minutes but that is infrequent.

Watch the koi carp swim lazily among the pond lilies before heading to the heated salt water pool, perhaps to expend a little more energy. French doors lead back to the living area, which in turn connects, via staircase, to the light-filled bedroom. City of Charleston Certificate of Operation #00292

Fix breakfast in the neatly arrayed, straight-aspect kitchen then serve it up at the breakfast bar in this cheery guest suite. The garage-based, studio-style space features no separating walls and offers warm polished wooden floors and a love seat. We JUST PUT IN A QUEEN SIZED BED! So disregard the reviews where people weren’t happy with the full sized bed ( even though it was listed as such when they booked it)!
This is a cool, clean, modern detached garage apartment in Charleston's coolest neighborhood- Avondale. Avondale has been named coolest neighborhood 3 years running by Charleston City Paper, and it's easy to see why. Walk or bike to over a dozen pubs, restaurants, shops, salons, yoga studios, etc... including Pearlz, Al di la, Triangle, The Glass Onion, Mex 1, Gene's Haufbrau, Voodoo, and The Roost, (to name a few) all just a block or so away from the apartment. We are only 3 miles to the heart of historic downtown Charleston, and only 20 minutes to Folly, Sullivan's or Isle of Palms. We are also only a few blocks from the West Ashley greenway- a local biking/walking/running path that cuts through the city. It's a great way to get your exercise in, or to get over to South Windemere shopping center to do a little eating at Med Bistro or shopping at Half Moon Outfitters. The apartment is a true studio- with no walls separating living areas, but it's charming and clean, and you can't beat the location. Fully equipped kitchen as well. This IS NOT downtown Charleston- it is just over the drawbridge from the peninsula. You will have access to beach chairs, a beach Umbrella and a cooler if you would like. Anything else, just ask and we will try to accommodate ! We try to meet all guests face to face upon check in if possible, but occasionally leave a key under the mat if we aren't going to be around. Other than that- we don't interact with guests much unless we see each other coming and going in the driveway. Feel free to approach us with questions, but we understand how guests prefer privacy on vacation, and we try to respect this. A car is the best way to get downtown- even though it's only a few miles a way there is no bike lane on the Ashley River bridge- so unless you are an experienced bike rider - I would drive- but once you are downtown, walking or biking is the best way to see everything. Closer to home, here in Avondale, almost everything is within walking or biking distance, and it's easy to get around that way. An uber ride downtown is $8-$10.Taxis are fairly inexpensive as well, and there is a city bus that stops a block away, but Charleston isn't known for its public transit, so I can't vouch for it. There are also water taxis that can take you to Mount Pleasant and back! There is a tall set of stairs leading up to the apartment and the shower is pretty small.
Avondale is a trendy community just outside the Charleston peninsula – about 3 miles from the heart of the historic district. It is comprised of several modest but eclectic neighborhoods surrounding a thriving bar and restaurant scene.
  • Lovely clean and comfortable place in great location near many good cafes, bars, delis and restaurants. Everything just as described-helpful friendly hosts too. We used the no. 30 bus (hourly, $2 each way, pay driver, 10min journey) into centre of Charleston to avoid parking there - stops at visitor centre and really easy.

  • Stayed here for a few days while visiting Charleston on spring break. The place was very clean and close to everything we wanted to do! Definitely would recommend!

  • Excellent location and very clean!

    Crystal2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a wonderful, cozy place to stay. The neighborhood was quiet, and situated a short Uber ride to downtown or the beach. Their recommendations for places to eat nearby were wonderful and several were a short (20 minute or less) walk from the house. We highly recommend staying here if you’re in Charleston.

  • Great spot, easy walking distance to loads of restaurants. Quick drive to downtown. Comfy bed and couch, and easy to communicate with. Would love to come back anytime.

  • We enjoyed staying in this lovely air bnb. Everything went well with communication and checking in. The studio space is beautifully designed with gorgeous hardwood floors. Very welcoming! We enjoyed nearby restaurants.

    Judy2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very comfortable, I love the open layout. The location provided great options for eating within walking distance or a short drive. There is Whole Foods for groceries and coffee/chai in the morning was a plus (hint, don’t wait in line at Starbucks). Travel to the beach (Folly) and downtown Charleston was quick. We are very glad we chose to stay with Brett and Shannon as we appreciated the local offerings more than where we traveled off to. Definitely worth the stay!

Gorgeous 76 acre Hampton Park is right around the corner as well as the Citadel Military College and the Ashley River. We’re downtown. We’re walkable. We’ve got it all! The vibrant C-E neighborhood has been the Holy City's “hottest" neighborhood for the last seven years. Known for its historic charm, friendly residents, and eclectic "mom and pop" eateries and bars, C-E has much to offer. Need an upscale salon or an old school barber shop? Take your pick. Upper King (only 2 blocks away) is bursting with shops, award-winning restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Every Saturday, Marion Square (10 minute walk) hosts a Farmers’ Market with locally-grown produce, handmade goods, and delicious food stands. With so many shops, restaurants and other sites within walking distance, our location provides you with the luxury of parking your car if you choose and hitting the pavement during your stay via foot, bike, pedicab, free trolley, or Uber. Charleston is an extremely unique city on the eastern seaboard. Unparalleled in its charm, growing rapidly, and always expanding its culinary and arts scene while still maintaining its historical integrity, the Holy City has much to offer. For an authentic Charlestonian experience, visit the Charleston City Market (20 minute walk), one of the oldest public markets in America. Stretching over four city blocks, the market boasts over 300 vendors. There are also plenty of great coffee shops and quiet places to take your laptop and work if you don't want to work "at home". Located outside the flood zone, Cayo Cañón is within walking distance to The Charleston City Marina, MUSC, College of Charleston, and Charleston School of Law.
  • If you love the history of Charleston, do yourself a favor and stay in an actual historic home. We spent our days admiring the unique local architecture and then got to come home at the end of the day to the Quinns’ place and it really added so much to the experience. I appreciated how much info they provided in both the listing and as our visit got closer. Everything was as advertised and the location was perfect. The basket of snacks was a life saver, too. I would 100 percent stay here again on my next visit to Charleston!

  • Stayed for a 10-day work trip and it was fabulous. Perfect for just me, and my partner came down for a weekend and was also comfortable with the two of us. Great location, I was working downtown and never had any commute issues (being a former Charleston resident I am very familiar with the traffic). Highly recommend, I’ll be keeping an eye out for this spot on future visits.

    Sarah2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this place. It was super clean, had everything we needed, was in a great location, and we would definitely come again. Other reviews had mentioned that the pull out bed wasn’t comfortable, but we thought it was very comfy and didn’t have a problem sleeping there each night. There were towels, sheets, and blankets available and the only thing I would recommend is bringing an extra pillow (there are only two) if you like a lot of support while you sleep. There was plenty of hot water and the combo heat/AC unit was very helpful as it got fairly chilly when we were there. Adam was very responsive and easy to work with, too! Would definitely stay here again!

Nestled in the Historic Plantation District between Summerville & Charleston, our timberframe "bunkhouse" offers privacy, comfort & convenience. This 850+ sq ft retreat includes full kitchen & bath, 2 dbl beds, twin bed & plenty of living space. There's a private entrance, so come & go as you please (we're right next door if you need us). We're minutes from Middleton Place, Drayton Hall & Magnolia Gardens, an easy drive to downtown Charleston, historic Summerville, beaches & golf courses.
Park under the grand oaks, follow the walkway around to your private entrance and make yourself at home! The "bunkhouse" is a newly renovated spacious loft above our detached oversized garage. It is completely private yet bright and cheerful, with large windows that look out over our wooded property. You may see deer and other wildlife (and our little flock of chickens) but you won't see another house and you won't hear the sounds of traffic, just owls, crickets and the occasional "cock-a-doodle-doo" of our good lookin' rooster. Step inside and you'll find a well equipped kitchen with a full size refrigerator and stove, a large island, coffee maker, coffee, tea, bottled water, ice, a few snacks and maybe even some fresh eggs from our chickens that roam the property. The hanging beds, cozy quilts and comfy pillows might just make you want to extend your stay! The bathroom has a roomy shower and plenty of fresh fluffy towels, shampoo, soap, hairdryer, etc. There's also satellite TV (Directv) and books & games for you to enjoy. You'll find a selection of maps, brochures and restaurant guides for Charleston and Summerville to help you plan your adventures. (Yes, food is an adventure in Charleston!).
We're located on a large wooded piece of property on a private road, so there's no traffic and lots of peace and quiet. We have chickens that roam the property, honeybees and (seasonally) a vegetable/herb garden. It's the perfect place to get away, relax...nap...maybe even write that novel.
  • Beautiful, quiet, cute, relaxing home away from home!

  • Thanks for a wonderful stay. Loved everything.

  • Bunkhouse was adorable & well stocked. Karyn(host) had so many extra thoughtful touches to make our stay great. Would definetly recommend this place!! Downtown Summerville is precious & was a nice drive to Charleston. 😄

  • Great place! I would recommend to any of my family or friends come to the area.

    Charise2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karyn & Russ are just wonderful! I would recommend anyone visiting Charleston to stay at the bunkhouse especially if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle. Moreover, it is so close to all the plantations if you are interested. It is so cozy, lovely, wonderful, well I think y'all get my point! The fresh baked bread and eggs just another touch from a wonderful airbnb!

    Barbara2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Most charming bunkhouse! We really enjoyed out stay, just wasn't long enough. Thank you for being such a lovely hostess. And, the bread, oh my.... wonderful!

    Jennifer2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fun place to stay! We were greeted by Karyn a few minutes after we arrived to let us know that we could just holler if we needed anything. We also had fresh bread and eggs left in the room for us when we got there! So nice! And the bread was DELISH! We were very close to the Magnolia Plantation which is where we planned on spending most of our time on our exploring day so that was perfect. Just a short drive from downtown Charleston. A great place to stay!

    Kayla2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A unique, clean and charming open floor living space close to Middleton Place, Magnolia Gardens, and 27 minutes from Charleston. Pros: clean, full kitchen, comfortable and well-designed/built/decorated. Privacy (detached above the garage). Hanging beds are unique but work well in the space. Con: No WiFi (but cell reception is good).

We love living in Ravenel! Secluded enough to enjoy the beauty around us yet close to everything we love about Charleston!
  • Really cute and great place! The family is very sweet and considerate, and the tiny house was perfectly clean when we arrived.

    Paige2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The space was very well laid out & incredibly spacious for a tiny house. It was super clean & they thought of everything you may need! Juliette was an incredible communicator & definitely went above & beyond to make sure any questions were answered & help was extended when needed. Thank you so much for your hospitality & opening your space to us! We loved your home!

    Kyndall2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Juliette's tiny house! We were looking for something fun and different, and this property delivered. It was comfortable and efficient. The queen sized Murphy bed was great and easy to use. When it was up during the day we had plenty of space. We cooked several meals and had everything we needed, including eggs from the family's chickens. It rained a lot during our stay so we were unable to use the fire pit area, but it looked so cute and private. The toilet and sink area is pretty small, but the shower is roomy and very nice. This was a great location and a good introduction to tiny house living!

    Joshua2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Magical experience! My kids said this was their favorite part of the trip! Zip line, feeding the goats and chickens! They loved the tiny house and the composting toilet was fascinating for us all! The shower had nice hot water! We enjoyed the handmade soap, fresh eggs, marshmallows for the firepit, and playing cards in the evening! So much sleeping space and comfy amenities! Thank you for sharing! We spent the next day at Botany Bay plantation on Edisto Island. Easy drive from Ravenel.

  • This tiny house is not only so clean, but spacious! Not to mention Juliett & her husband are thoughtful enough to come and greet you. The animals are such an adorable touch to the entire experience!

    Lauren2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Juliett and her family were wonderful. Everything went according to plan and schedule. We all loved the tiny house experience and the setting just made it so much more fun. With goats on one side, a fire pit on the other, and the lull of an occasional train not too far off in the distance, it made for a unique experience. Fresh eggs from the farm were left in the fridge and we even bought some goat milk soap from them. The compost toilet was another experience in itself... there’s a first for everything! But what was so interesting about the toilet is that when used properly, it doesn’t even smell! Very unique and fun experience. If you’re thinking about it, just do it!

    Dana2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a unique experience! The home is adorable and very comfortable. There were baby goats who love attention. Fresh eggs waiting in the refrigerator and delicious coffee.

Your own PRIVATE house on our pastoral horse farm. NO CLEANING FEE! 30 mins from downtown Charleston. A perfect place to enjoy the rural country life, yet so close to the shopping, restaurants, and the nightlife of Charleston. Just listed, mid 2019, as house is new.
Thank you for considering a guest house stay. No added cleaning fee!!!!! It is a new and private home. 3 bedrooms 2 full baths 1 queen bed. 1 queen sofa pull-out bed. 2 twin beds. Located on 110 flat pastoral acres. 30 minutes to downtown Charleston. 15 minutes to West Ashley. 17 miles to Folly Beach. 20 miles to Edisto Island. 24 miles to Charleston International airport. In addition, guests can rent use of a 2 person ATV ($25 per day). We offer free interaction with the goats, horses, chickens, and cats. Make sure to latch the goat pen door after or they will run straight into the barn, where they spend the nights. As for the horses, we prefer guests stay OUTSIDE of the paddocks...only petting them over the fence. You are welcome to come to the barn, at our nightly check (text me) and give cookies to the horses. Please wear boots in the barn and around the horses. We also have a fire pit if you would like to have a bonfire. We set it up with seating, an optional cooking grate, skewers, extra logs, and extinguish it after ($10 set up fee). But, I am available at anytime to answer any questions during your stay. If you are trying to reserve this guest house and the dates you want are unavailable, please try the other Airbnb titled “Club House on Horse Farm Near Charleston” it is 2 bedroom 1 bath home on the same farm.
  • The most amazing Airbnb experience we’ve ever had. We went for my daughters 13th birthday and we had the best time. When we got there we had a cupcake birthday party with the goats and Clover the miniature horse who had on a unicorn horn. We added a bonfire set up and the s’mores were delicious! We went to The Fillin Station for dinner and everyone out of our family of 5 loved it. The next day we rode horses and hung out at the barn. The house was very clean and comfortable. We can’t wait to go back!

    Kasie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • SOOOO charming and perfect! The thoughtfulness put in to the decor to the abundance of snacks! Our vehicle got stuck in the mud (due to it raining for 2 weeks!!) and quickly Lizabeth was able to help us! Our 2 year old loved all the animals! Can’t wait to book again!!

    Magdalene2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most enjoyable, peaceful, and nicest places that I’ve ever visited.

    Dustin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Where to start? This was a dream come true for our girls. Feeding the horses and goats and walking the farm was so special. The weather didn’t allow for a fire in the fire pit but we baked cookies with the kit Lisabeth left for us which was a ton of fun. The style of the place and attention to detail was incredible. Amazing value and truly unique experience cleaner than my own home! Make sure to bring boots and have a ton of fun! Thank you Lisabeth!

    Jen2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely amazing! It's set on a large piece of land with beautiful horses, goats, and chickens. The home itself was beautiful, with everything we could ever need! Everything was clean, and ready for us. She even let us check in early! We enjoyed feeding the animals and a nice fire one night. I look forward to hopefully coming back and staying again soon!

    Raven2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very scenic and comfortable farm setting. Amazing sunset and a very comfortable space. Lizabeth was very communicative and responsive. Feeding the horses and goats and the farm fresh eggs were nice touches. I’d definitely come back

    Greg2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say, our stay was amazing. We arrived at dusk and upon entering the gates of the property we were greeted by a group of beautiful white tailed deer. The drive wound us through a picturesque horse facility. The host has put heart into the furnishings and decor of this house that we immediately felt at home. She has added so so so many personal extra touches that you don’t normally get. The kids loved feeding all the critters, large and small. In the morning, just to sit out on the front deck and sip our tea while watching the horses graze in the pasture was such a great start to our day. I highly recommend this AirBnB to all that are hunting for a location in the Charleston area. I could write a book about all the wonderfulness here. I would like to say a special thank you to our host and that we enjoyed ourselves immensely. A huge hug to you and take care.

NO CLEANING FEE! 2 bedroom 1 bath house on our horse farm near Charleston. This house sleeps 6 adults. 3 queen beds including the sofa which pulls out. Although the club house is private and separate, the wall abuts the farm managers house. So there might be some noise with the tv or doors closing. 30 mins from downtown Charleston. A perfect place to enjoy the rural country life, yet so close to the shopping, restaurants, and the nightlife of Charleston. Just listed December 2019
Thank you for considering a stay at the Club house. It is a private 2 bedroom house. Both bedrooms have queen sized beds with brand new mattresses. There is 1 full bath with brand new (2 seat) shower and rain head. The living room sofa also pulls out into another queen sized bed. The Club house has a cabin or lodge type feeling. Considered romantic if it’s just 2 of you.... or easily family friendly if you have children. It is warm, homey and inviting. The furniture is super comfy. The house feels like you are staying at your grandma’s house when you were a little kid. The bedding and linens are new, yet mismatched, to lend a country casual feeling to your stay. The house is cozy. The windows let in lots of light and have great views of the sunset over the ponds and paddocks. Located on 110 flat pastoral acres. 30 minutes from downtown Charleston. 15 minutes to West Ashley. 17 miles to Folly Beach. 20 miles to Edisto Island. 24 miles to Charleston International airport. Make sure to re-latch the (HEAVY) lifting door. As for the horses, we prefer you stay OUTSIDE of the paddocks... petting them over the fence. • This is the second property I have stayed at with this host, and I just love it here. The location is just beautiful. Waking up each day and seeing the horses and other farm animals is pretty cool. Picking fresh eggs from the chicken coop is not something you get at a hotel! Lizabeth is always helpful and is just a pleasure to talk to. From the minute you arrive she treats you like family. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Paul and Kelly truly think of everything here, and the space is very, very pet friendly. Our miniature dachshunds loved the big yard area and the “kennel” (which is huge). We’ve stayed in houses that weren’t as full of amenities as this RV is. They have basically a full kitchen in here, fully stocked with cookware and utensils and it’s very nicely decorated. It’s also in a good spot relative to Charleston/Mt. Pleasant, but don’t miss out on the dining options nearby. Most importantly, Paul and Kelly are very attentive hosts who during our stay were tremendously helpful and were highly accommodating to us.

    Nick2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • For being a dog friendly Airbnb, you’d never know there had been dogs there before you. Even my dogs didn’t sniff ferociously as if there had been tons of dog smells! The camper is extremely clean, the air is clean and it smells great. They have excellent cleaning protocol so you don’t have to worry about transmission of fleas bedbugs etc. Paul was great with communication and set up several wonderful things for me during my stay such as a fire pit (even though I didn’t get a chance to use it). He was such a kind person and I will 110% be back. I hope he only has respectful tenants in the future so he continues to rent this beautiful place out!!!!

    Amanda2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Paul’s place is very well thought out. The location is awesome with local stores in close proximity yet the rental itself is quiet and peaceful. We were so greatful for a dog friendly place that’s also safe for our pet. Paul is quick to respond to questions regarding locations of things we were interested in as well as any other questions we may have had. Super nice host! Thanks for an awesome stay for my family members!

  • Thank you so much Mr Paul for an amazing experience ! I really enjoyed myself at my little home away from home this weekend. Mr Paul was very welcoming and attentive. Every time I needed something he was either outside the door or texted back within minutes. So sad to have to leave this place behind, but til next time!! 😊

    Susan2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Could not ask for better hosts! The living space was exactly what we needed. So thankful to have understanding, dog-owner, hosts that did not discriminate our dog breed. The warmest and friendliest interactions. Very comfortable bed. Suitable accommodations. If you're any bigger than myself however, the bathroom/shower may prove difficult for you. All in all a perfect way to spend our weekend getaway. The location being smack dab in between Edisto and Charleston was super convenient. Can't wait to go back.

  • Nancy and Joe were the absolute best. The property was something out of a fairytale and the hospitality was way above and beyond what I was expecting. I will be using them again in the future for all my trips to Charleston and I will be recommending them to all of my colleagues and friends who visit Charleston.

  • Nancy and Joe were very helpful and sweet ! They let us check in whenever was convenient for us as well as check out a bit later. We were on our honeymoon and they put a little bottle of champagne in the fridge as well as homemade muffins, YUM! They had a very lovely and detail book in their accommodation that explained the rules and recommendations on where to eat and go! They even took us out on their boat for a small fee and we all shared some beverages with them that they supplied which was extremely generous. The boat ride was a blast and we saw LOTS of dolphins and a beautiful sunset. They made us feel like we had known them for years and like we were family ! The bed was comfy and the little condo was clean and quiet! I highly recommend this place ! Nancy and Joe made our stay perfect! -Chelsea Piche

    Paul2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Joe's place was great. It was nice to escape the city of Chicago and enjoy the outdoors. Joe showed us how to shimp/crab and it was a ton of fun. Felt more like we were staying with family than a random person. Would recommend.

    Matt2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ok, we can't even get over how amazing it was staying in Nancy and Joe's space. It was so special there... AND BEAUTIFUL BEYOND BEAUTIFUL. Not to mention insanely clean (hard to reach my level of clean, but it was!)... and Nancy made me super healthy vegan muffins and left vegan creamer for us when we mentioned we were plant based!! We also got to meet their sweet kitty Cotton who sadly passed away when we were there.. she was such a special soul. Also, please take advantage of the boat tour... they are both so knowledgeable of the area and we saw SO MANY DOLPHINS!!!! We really can't say enough good things. Relaxing on that dock is all we wanted to do when there... we barely went back to the city!!! We can't wait to come back for longer!!!!! ❤🐈😊

    Nichole2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • An uncrowded and beautiful area, a wonderful dock that allows you to experience the location (including dolphins), and an attractive, clean, comfortable apartment! Nancy and Joe are helpful, friendly & responsive, but not hovering.

This is a really neat 1000 sq ft. bungalow on tidal creek facing the intracoastal waterway. It has a back deck to grill out, relax, and catch the most beautiful sunsets you'll ever see. On the other side is a pond filled with fish. On the high incoming tide kayaking is accessible. The bungalow has a fully functioning kitchen, small living area with TV, and 2 queen. Location is Rural Charleston, away from all the traffic congestion but short distance from all the beaches and downtown Charleston.
This bungalow is a Rustic, Peaceful, Private, Eclectic haven. It's low country look and antique flare give it a neat place to stay. Coffee maker, basic kitchen necessities, and toiletries are supplied. There is a queen size bed down stairs with a couch. The loft upstairs (steep ladder to get up there) has a queen bed and love seat. We just added a washing machine and dryer. There’s a back screened in porch (with a grill) to watch the most beautiful sunsets and cook out. We have 3 hammocks on the property along with a pond and salt water inlet. On the high tide you can use the kayaks to fully take advantage of all it’s beauty. There are also 4 bikes that are available for use anytime!
This neighborhood is a beautiful spacious circle of homes located on a peninsula of open waters.
  • Loved the kayaks! And fishing! Sweet spot and very relaxing!

  • This is a really neat cabin and a great place to stay. Our pups enjoyed the giant yard and we appreciated all the amenities (wish we could have kayaked or bikes but it was too cold!) Thank you for the hospitality!

  • I absolutely loved the cabin. It was a wonderful place to get away for a relaxing weekend. The property is beautiful, and the cabin is very cozy. It was a quick 30 minute drive to downtown Charleston. Miranda and her family were wonderful hosts and she responded very quickly to all of my questions. I have stayed at a lot of airbnbs and this was by far one of my favorites. I would highly recommend staying here.

  • If you are looking for a smaller quaint cottage for some country "getting back to your roots" time then this is magic. Great front porch offers a wide view of the marshes. Really nicely equiped for the space. Would love to come back for a fishing trip. Off the beaten path and comfortable. We enjoyed it.

  • Great place to stay! Private and cozy! The view is great and the screened in porch is a great place to spend the morning. I like that it’s away from the hustle and bustle of Charleston but still within a short car ride to everything. Would definitely stay again.

  • The private suite had everything that you need for a great stay. Large comfortable bed, plenty of room and great light. Neighborhood was about 10-15 minutes from downtown and from Folly Beach so it was perfect!!! it was about a 10-15 dollar Uber ride each way so again pretty cool. I would definitely stay with Erica again.

  • Awesome Host

    Sara2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Aiden and Cyrus's home is the most affordable, chill, and welcoming home in Charleston. Renting this Airbnb isn't renting a hotel environment where you never see the hosts but more like renting a room at a rents house. Aiden and Cyrus were so nice that they even showed me around Charleston and made sure I woke up on time to make it to my flight. I would definitely suggest staying here if you want to stay at a place that feels like you're staying at a close friends house.

  • PEACE and QUIET :)

    Betz2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great view of the River!! Had a great experience with Susan and Nick . Their little cabin is better than advertised, it is a quiet location on a very pretty part of the river and John's Island, and very conveniently located to West Ashley and the Greenway. You cannot beat the value, and Susan leaves the place with all of the important must-haves when traveling. We traveled with a toddler and whenever we thought to ourselves "we wish we thought of packing [random item]" we'd look in the cupboard and they had it ready for us. The cabin is very quiet and offers a very peaceful marsh/river setting. We would love to come back.

    Eric2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing getaway with a view that was well worth it! Perfect location and only a short drive from all we wanted to experience in the Charleston area. Susan and Nick were quick to respond to our questions and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed (even with our big moving truck)! Highly recommend both the location and the hosts! We’ll be back!

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet getaway close to fun and beaches. If you want to go to Kiawah, Charleston, or Folly Beach it is all near by. The cabin is warm and cozy with a porch and view for relaxation. Susan and Nick are wonderful host. Will definitely return.

    Jane2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly situated against the backdrop of the Stono River, this property overflows with a combination of character, charisma and Southern charm. The cabin itself is cozy and comfortable, we felt right at home quickly, a hallmark of a great cottage. Susan and Nick are pros at hospitality, quick with responses and thoughtful + thorough in their local recommendations. Check-in/out was a breeze, also a number of great restaurant choices nearby, two favorites were Fat Hen (John's Island) and Lost Dog (Folly). Highly recommend this cabin and staying with Susan + Nick!

    Jake2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a perfect get away. Susan and Nick are wonderful host. There are lots of little touches in the kitchen and bathroom to make you feel like you are their special guest. They have everything you might need. The porch is a peaceful respite to enjoy watching the boats that pass by, water and wildlife. It is a great location to Charleston, and Kiawah. Great restaurants and shopping nearby. Cannot wait to return. Thank you Susan and Nick for sharing your peaceful getaway.

  • This is a great little place to stay if you're looking for an affordable place to stay near Charleston. We love staying in guest houses like this one because you are provided with everything you need to live like a kitchen with cooking utensils, with plenty of space to move around in addition to yard space. Our kids loved playing on the trampoline, zip-line, and swing. The host was there if we needed her but not in our space if we didn't. We would stay here again and recommend to a friend.

    Jacki2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Much more spacious than expected! Lots of furniture and hangout space yet didn't compromise room.Always could use more kitchen stuff if a guest wanted to stay. Really nothing negative to say all in all- beautiful yard, trees and next to the water.

    Israel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great setup. Lots of outside space for your furry friends. Very convenient to Kiawah Island, Charleston Tea plantation, Angel Oak Tree, and more. Getting to Downtown Charleston itself will take about 25 min. , but not a bad drive. The only thing to keep in mind is that you are staying in a converted basement space and below the host's living space, so if you mind the pitter-patter of kids footsteps, you might reconsider. It didn't bother me, but perhaps it's because I've been working with kindergarteners for so many years and I'm immune. Host was very respectful of our privacy and quick to respond to questions.

@RockvilleAirBnB: This nationally registered historic home was built in the early 1800s and is a 35 minute scenic drive to downtown Charleston, Popular beaches, as well as many historical landmarks and parks. If you are looking for a place defined by Natural Beauty and Southern Charm--there is nothing closer to stepping back in time before the busyness of modern life than here in the village of Rockville. We welcome anyone looking for some peace and quiet on a front porch overlooking the river.
There is history around every corner in the house! The house was built in the 1800s and has been home to four generations of the Stevens Family who originally moved to the Island to start their shrimping business. The shrimp boat dock operated right outside the front porch! The Deepwater dock was destroyed during hurricane Gracie in 1959 and moved to Cherry Point. The business is now owned and operated by my cousin Micah Jenkins and is called “Cherry Point Seafood Co.” You can stop by and purchase fresh seafood right off the boat. The shrimp business also expanded to include tow boats as well as ferry boats that took islanders all over Charleston before the major roads and bridges were built. The best part of the house in my opinion is the front porch where I have spent hours reading in the hammock, sipping on sweet tea, and talking with friends and family. A weekend or day at the house feels like a week when you are in Rockville. Time really seems to slow down and you feel like you can just take a deep breath of fresh air. To reflect the character of the area and history of the home we do not have cable tv or internet. When you come to visit we want our guests and family to be able to fully experience the peace of nature by unplugging and giving your spirit the chance to recharge. I remember riding down Maybank highway as a kid... as soon as the oak trees and the draping Spanish moss came into view I knew we had made it home! *We do have a t-mobile hotspot available and connected for use. *There is a dvd collection, books, board games, cards, and a radio for entertainment. Remember, this is a very old family home. With any old house you will find beauty, character, and many quirks. If you are looking to book a modernly immaculate resort, try looking at Kiawah. If you want to experience simple and charming Southern Living surrounded by natural and historic beauty, this is the right place for you!
The surrounding neighborhood is a living museum. “The Rockville Historic District” is part of The National Register of Historic Places. As described by Charleston Daily: “Just a few miles outside of Charleston, Rockville offers you a look at the way life used to be. It is the beauty, decor and natural scenery of simple Southern living. Come with us to Rockville, South Carolina where the air is fresh, faith is strong and peaceful ambiance is a way of life.” The village is a testament to the notion of natural preservation. Rockville is one of Charleston County’s oldest surviving summer resorts (est. 1784). The summer community’s serene, slow-moving, lifestyle is reflected in its architecture and landscape. Live oaks draped with Spanish moss and palmettos dominate the landscape and add to the quaint atmosphere of the community.
  • Elizabeth is a wonderful, communicative, thoughtful host and this home is tranquil and beautiful. Perfect for lovers of historic homes, the waterfront, and quiet. Close enough to Charleston that we found ourselves there at least once a day, but far enough away that the sky is full of stars. We loved our time there!

    Coleen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great retreat to be away from it all yet a quick drive to Charleston for work or fun.

    Drew2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place to get away, yet still an easy and quick drive to all of Charleston. I would highly recommend this. Spent as much time as the weather allowed sitting on the front porch relaxing. The local roads were great for long runs. The wifi worked impressively well for the day I worked remotely. There were three if us, (three generations too) and we want to try and organize a family reunion here.

    Drew2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home, full of history! We wish we had planned a longer trip to enjoy the views from the porch even more, our children already are asking if we can go back this weekend

    Lauren2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the house, and I would absolutely love to visit again. The house is extremely clean and every room is decorated with care. The porch is fantastic - we even saw dolphins one morning! Elizabeth always responded quickly to any questions and was a kind and cordial host. Great experience!

    Maria2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space built in 1850 on the water that was full of antiques. Very clean. Amazing view. Friendly host.

    Amelia2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a small family reunion here and we had a wonderful time. Our kids loved exploring the yard and down by the water. The porch facing the water is so spacious and relaxing. I could have sat out there all day. We enjoyed walking down to look at the little chapel nearby as well. The house has so many neat details and furnishings and the beds were all super comfortable. Elizabeth was great at communicating and very kind. Nearby, we enjoyed the angel tree, the tea plantation, and took a drive to the Charleston market. Overall, a lovely home and great stay.

  • This home is clean, bright, and cozy, with beautiful touches throughout. The house has more than enough towels, and blankets, comfortable beds, and a great kitchen. We made french-pressed coffee in the mornings, and the location worked out well as we were showing our friends around the area for the first time, it was a 15 minute Uber ride downtown, a 10 minute drive to Folly beach, and didn't take long to get to Sullivan's or IOP. We had a great stay.

Perfectly situated between Folly Beach and Downtown Charleston our newly renovated home is the best location for those wanting to explore Charleston. The home is part of a duplex. There is 1 Bedroom with a queen bed, a queen-size pull-out bed in the living room and 1 bathroom. There is a small kitchenette in the living area. Enjoy a small patio with two adirondack chairs. There is room for 2 cars in the driveway.
Our space is cute, clean, modern and also compact. The same size as a small 1 BDR apartment or studio we recommend our space for couples. The sofa in the living area pulls-out into a queen bed. We like our guests to have a heads-up that when pulled out the sofa bed makes the walkway to the bathroom a tighter space. The kitchenette has a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The kitchen is stocked with dinnerware, utensils, coffee, and tea. The bathroom is fully stocked with towels, hand-towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a hairdryer. The shower is a stand-up only; there is no tub in the bathroom. The living area has a Roku enabled TV with Netflix, Hulu, and other apps already logged in for your enjoyment. • Dan's place was wonderful. If you are there with a friend (like me) and not a significant other, it is great to have the bedroom and the sofa bed option. Actually, both nights the bed in the sofa wasn't even used because the couch was so comfortable! One note that my friend is making me put in here-- if you are poop shy, just know that the barn-style door (which is adorable) doesn't hide much in terms of noise. Depending on how busy the weekend is (we went during the Charleston primary) and whether you're on a tight schedule, make sure to check Uber/Lyft apps a bit ahead of schedule just in case it takes them slightly longer to get to you. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to go visit Folly Beach, so I can't recommend or give any advice on that side of things. Overall, Dan's place was a great, clean, quiet, and pleasant place to stay. Would definitely recommend!

Relax, enjoy this country setting; Mini-Horse farm on a private lake just 20 minutes from Charleston and area beaches. Fishing, kayaks, paddle boat and bicycles included. Beautiful deck with flowers, fountain and great views. 2 bedrooms, private bath
These are 2 spacious bedrooms with 12 foot ceilings that share a jack and jill bathroom between them. One room faces the horse and donkey paddock. The other faces the lake and opens up with sliding glass doors onto the screen porch. The house has an open floor plan with a Great Room that has a fireplace and a 22 foot ceiling, that opens into the dining room, kitchen, and sun porch. The attached deck is filled with flowers and a water fountain, which faces the private lake filled with ducks and geese.
  • For good old country peaceful enjoyment, this is the place to stay. Wake up to the beautiful lake view and watch the geese swim by. Hae coffee on the private porch that adjoins the downstairs bedrooms. Enjoy the cool evening breeze on the deck. Great proximity to local restaurants and Charleston attractions. Very close to the West Ashley area too. There's information available at the home about the area should you want to venture out and see the sights. If it seems that the property may be a little out of the way, know that it is absolutely worth the drive. What you see online is what you'll absolutely get and more...

  • Tom & Jan's place is perfect for a relaxing getaway. They are kind hosts, and the space is clean, the beds are super comfortable, and you get your own private porch to enjoy some quiet while looking at the lake. The horse, donkeys, dog, and cats are an added bonus! They are close to several attractions and just 30 minutes from downtown Charleston. We'd definitely stay with them again!

  • Thomas and Jan are incredibly nice and thoughtful people. A fantastic experience. And their animals are so friendly!

    Anastasiia2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Jan have an elegant home in a charming setting. The space is clean and they are accommodating, which was very helpful for my family with special needs and a toddler. My favorite part of the experience was the special kindness and attention shown to my children. We’re grateful for a nice place to stay with kind people while we visited my old stomping grounds!

    Crystal2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas and Jan have a lovely farm and are hospitable hosts. The rooms we stayed in were immaculately clean and very comfortable. They provided suggestions for sites to see and restaurants to eat - even provided a way for us to get a discount at Magnolia Plantation (much appreciated!). If you want to be a bit off the beaten track for your visit to Charleston, this wonderful, little farm is the place to be!

Come and stay in this recently renovated mid-century modern-style home. Proximity to I-26, I-526, Mt. Pleasant, Summerville, and Downtown CHS (less than 20 mins) makes this a convenient location for business travelers. Proximity to airport (less than 10 mins) makes this a great spot for those catching early AM flights. Plenty of awesome food and drink nearby. Also an outlet mall nearby. Guests have private bathroom and access to the large open-concept kitchen/dining space and living room.
Travel times by car: to the Charleston Peninsula (15 minutes) to Mt. Pleasant (15 minutes) to Sullivan's Island (25 minutes) to Folly Beach (25 minutes) to Charleston International Airport (5-10 minutes)
Just a head's up, the neighborhood is pretty mixed racially and economically. So while the neighborhood is on the upswing--a series of recent remodels and new construction are peppered throughout--you'll notice some pretty shabby rental properties and a couple of trailer parks on the way in. It's a neighborhood in transition. Older houses in the neighborhood are selling below 100K, and remodels are selling for about double that: often right next to one another. If you're familiar with N. Charleston or areas of Charleston off the peninsula, you'll know that such a mixture of housing is pretty common. And even on the peninsula, this was the case less than 10 years ago. All that's to say, I've never felt unsafe in my yard, in my house, on my street, or walking around the neighborhood. And guests have indicated that they feel safe in the home. When different partners have lived with me, they've indicated that they don't feel unsafe in the house, in the yard, or on our street. This is more of a head's up than anything. Charleston isn't monolithic. And I'm happy to answer questions about the neighborhood via messaging. Those of us who live there--especially 30-somethings, families, renters, and long-term residents--love and care for the neighborhood because of its proximity to nearly everything--especially Park Circle--and its affordability. But, this neighborhood isn't a mirror image of the downtown, historic district of Charleston.

  • Great location, close to downtown. There is a convenient store across the street. Comfortable and cozy. The house does have a musty smell, but that is my only issue. Otherwise, enjoyed the stay! Felt safe and great value.

    Tara2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Megan’s place was cozy and charming! We had four adults and a baby so we filled the place up quickly but it worked out perfectly! Since we traveled with our son and daughter-in-law we didn’t mind sharing the upstairs shower and bath - and it was nice they had their own half-bath downstairs to use during the night! Perfect for a family or a private get-away for two!

City of Charleston STR Permit#: OP2018-00026 Great place to quarantine in lovely Charleston SC, where residents still have freedom of movement. Quiet, creative space, conveniently located in the West Ashley neighborhood of Charleston. It is 4 miles to downtown and 5.2 miles to Battery Park at the tip of the Peninsula. My place is 13.2 miles from Folly Beach and 13.1 to the beach on Sullivan's Island.
I've lived in the house for about 10 years. Its full of relics from my travels.
My house is in the centrally-located Heathwood neighborhood West of the Ashley River. It is less than a mile from Home Team BBQ and Tin Roof, which are good local places for food and live music. You can also walk to Charles Towne Landing, the State Historic Site, which is a lovely park.
