  • This place is beautiful. Just how it is in pictures, nothing is deceiving! There is so much space and the hot tub was incredible. Even on a windy/wet weekend we made the most of the beach which was only a 5 minute walk down the hill and had a Sunday lunch at the Tredrea Pub just at the end of the lane. Everything about this house was spotless and perfect! Newquay only being 25 mins away was perfect for a day out exploring and probably the cheapest taxi we’ve ever paid for on a night out. 10/10 for everything!

    Megan2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful- perfect for a family get together with lots of social space. Often with holiday homes you can find yourselves fighting over the bathrooms but there are 4 in the house so this wasn’t a problem. The views are stunning and the location on the coast path is fantastic but still private as the house faces away from the coast path over the village. Everything was clean and several of our guests commented on how well equipped the kitchen was. There was nothing else we could have needed! I would definitely recommend the property and would love to go back when we’re not in the midst of Storm Dennis!

  • We returned to David’s place for the 2nd time this year as we enjoyed it so much the first time. A lovely house with gorgeous views. Very well equipped kitchen - had everything we needed and more for our Christmas roast dinner! We really appreciated the Prosecco that had been left in the fridge for our arrival - thank you. We will surely be returning again at some point.

  • This place is amazing, really nicely laid out with a fantastic view from all areas especially the master bedroom (you'll need to flip a coin for that room) really comfortable and lots of space! very convenient with 4 bathrooms. The hot tub is must even in the rain! david was very helpful and we cant rate this place enough!! Thank you for making our celebration very special.

  • Fabulous place. Great views and amenities with close access to lovely beaches. We’ll definitely go back there again.

    Marianne2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, the property is a short walk from the coastal path and this part of the North Cornwall coastline is very impressive, so despite visiting during winter there were plenty of opportunities for us to get out and enjoy the countryside. There is also a lovely sandy beach 5 mins walk away. The house itself exceeded our expectations and is actually more spacious than the photos suggest. The small second reception room was useful for our teenage son to use to get on with his GCSE revision undisturbed. Rick Stein's Cornwall Arms pub is a 5 minute drive away and serves excellent pub food as you would expect. I recommend and we hope return one day.

  • A really lovely cozy place, close to the beach in a fantastic location

    Andrew2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really relaxing quiet spot by the beach

    Daniel2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and very comfortable shepherds hut. Gorgeous outdoor seating area. Couple of minutes walk to the beach - perfect!!

    Alice2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Everything we needed and more. Being able to walk to a beautiful beach in a matter of minutes was fantastic. Can’t wait for the second hut to be ready so the whole family can come.

    Lynne2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you want from a Shepherds hut! We attended surf camp in Harlyn Bay and this was a fantastic location for us to stay in whilst surfing and it really was a great experience. The hut is absolutely immaculate and has a really clear check in procedure. The facilities inside the hut are also great, really good to have a bathroom within the hut, most Shepherds huts I have looked at have outside bathrooms so this was a luxury! It was a great touch to have a hose outside too to get rid of sand from our wetsuits. Also is a very short walk to a spectacular beach - great for sunset picnics! Thanks for a great stay, we will be returning!

    Georgia2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Meg’s shepherds hut is beautifully presented and has everything you would need. It’s close enough to the beach to pop down the road for a swim without having to take kit with you. It’s the perfect spot to explore some of the SW coast path, which is easily accessible from the hut.

    Zoe2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place which had everything you could want. Located under 100m from the beach it was a perfect hideout for the weekend. Extremely quiet and not overlooked. Good location to visit Padstow and Newquay too.

    Craig2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolute gem of an air bnb. It is perfect for two people, with an amazing kitchen and bathroom (wouldn't expect it looking from the outside) and an extremely comfy bed. The location is private and secluded and you feel as though you have escaped, however a 5 minute walk down the adjacent road and you are on porthcathon beach. There is a pub within 1 minute walk however you hear no noise from here, and there is a lovely shop on the beach which has a variety of things you may need. It's a perfect location within 10-15 minute drive of Padstow, Mawgan Porth & Watergage bay. Everything was cleaned excellently, couldn't have wished for anything more from our stay. Meg is a wonderful host who we bumped into on one occasion and was extremely welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again, as we cannot resist a location so beautiful. The outdoor space around the hut is also wonderful, with an outdoor seating area with a fire pit/bbq if you require. If you're not booked in to stay here, you should be!

Touchstone is a character filled, comfortable, three bedroom holiday home a minute from the beach in Porthcothan. It has a large amount of garden & outdoor space, plus lots of family games, books & DVDs to enjoy by the wood burner in the evenings. We are unable to provide bed linen & towels, but the house has everything else that you could possibly need. There are six other local bays to explore and large stretches of National Trust Coastline walks as well as the delights of Padstow & beyond.
Our house is unique for its easy access to the beach. Our beach is unique for the wonderful amount of space at low tide and for being regarded as one of the safer beaches. Our two dogs adore their regular trips down here, and other well-behaved dogs are very welcome to stay too! Please note we are not able to provide bedding and towels, so please remember to bring your own (the double bed is a king size bed). £1 coins are needed for the electricity meter, however we have night storage heaters which are incredibly effective. There are lots of nooks and crannies to explore in the garden, including several grass lawn areas, a sunny patio at the back of the house and decking in the front.
The house is situated in a lane just off the coast road. It is a very peaceful, uncrowded hamlet with a seasonal beach shop which opens between April and the end of September. The Porthcothan Bay Stores website has an extremely comprehensive description of everything that is available in the area, so do visit porthcothanbaystores.co.uk
  • Terrific location a very relaxing and comfortable place. A perfect place for a family, with lots of space, it has everything you would need after spending the day at the beach (literally a minute walk) or a walk across some the most stunning coastline. Thoroughly recommend, we will definitely be staying again.

    Craig2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a great house and superb location! Everything you would need is here and just over the road to the beach and South West Coast Path.

    Alan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant location. Lovely large family house with all the facilities and amenities that you might need for a family holiday. No WiFi. No signal. Great for a real relax !

    Lizzie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in Ros' home. Firstly the instructions were incredibly detailed and we had no problem at all finding everything we needed for the duration of the stay. Secondly, it was extremely affordable - probably due to the fact we were able to be self-sufficient with sheets and £'s for the electricity meter - but this made it more of an adventure. Thirdly communication was great - Ros answered all of my questions very promptly and I had all the info I needed before arrival. Porthcothan is a gem on the West Cornish coast, the beach being absolutely beautiful and moments from the Bedruthen steps and other countryside walks and explorations. Thank you so much.

    Susie2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, Ros is extremely helpful too.

    Cara2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location!! We have just returned from a perfect week staying at Ros and Tim's lovely home. The location is perfect - just a few minutes walk from the beach and the fabulous coastal path. Even with 2 teenagers in tow we only used the car once and instead spent the whole time on the beach, walking the coastal path, bodyboarding and enjoying lazing on the deck at the house. The house is clearly a cherished family home and has a lovely warm and happy feel to it - beds were comfy and every utensil/item you could need is there. Plenty of books, DVDs and games so even on a wet day there is plenty to do - no wifi but was great to get away from it all. There's a pretty garden out the back and a deck out the front. The local Porthcothan Bay Stores is just a minute or two away on foot and is fab - we hired wetsuits/boards there and enjoyed lots of their tasty treats on offer. It also stocked most essentials too. Berryfields - a short walk away - was great for cream teas too! This was one of our best family holidays in the UK and we hope to return again.

    Amanda2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! A fabulous location, 2 mins walk from the beach. The home is very unique, Enjoyed listening to the vinyl collection. We’re hoping to visit again soon.

    Greta2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • PROS: Great communication with Owner Ros Trouble free check in and out Touchstone is a good sized house, there were only the two of us (with dog!) but 2 families with 4-5 kids could fit. Awesome location, 10 minutes drive to Padstow or Trevone/Harlyn beaches, 25 mins from Newquay. Beach and cliff walks are only a 2 minute stroll from the front door, superb! CONS: Touchstone is a little 'tired' in places with worn carpets and sofas etc and just general cosmetic stuff mainly, but at these rates I think it's pretty churlish to complain! We stayed for a few days of walks with dog, visit some local places of interest and eat a lot of fine food. On the latter for a special occasion we can highly rate Paul Ainsworth's No.6 in Padstow, The Olive Tree in St Merryn 5 mins up the road was a good find and good value. Jamie's 15 at Watergate Bay was a lovely spot and pretty darned good food as well. The Fish House at Fistral Bay, Newquay was another great find.

Burwelle Cottage is a freshly renovated period cottage with a small beautifully landscaped garden and uninterrupted views across fields to the ocean. The property sits on the edge of the village of St Merryn, with a bakery, News Agents, Garage, shop, pubs, wine bar, restaurants and take away all within walking distance. Just over a mile away lie the stunning beaches of Treyarnon, Constantine, Booby's Bay and around the headland of Trevose Head, Mother Ivy's and Harlyn.
Our Cottage is one of the oldest in the area and has been a much loved home for many years. We have recently rejuvenated it, trying wherever possible to keep original features, we have also added an en suite bedroom with a Juliet balcony to make the most of the sea views and stunning sunsets. The cottage has a fully equipped open plan, light, airy kitchen/dining room space, including a double oven, microwave, dishwasher an fridge-freezer. The patio glass doors open out on to the beautiful garden. The cottage garden has been landscaped to make the most of the space. It includes a large table and benches that overlook the uninterrupted views to the sea and Trevose head, perfect for relaxing with a glass of something after a long day at the beach, a secluded day bed and a small under cover space. There is an outdoor tap to wash off the sand (and dogs) and an outside toilet. The sitting room is separated from the kitchen with bespoke glass doors which allow the light to flow through but keep the noise down and heat in in the winter, it includes a log burner, comfy sofa, chair, smart TV and stereo. We accept up to 2 small dogs but ask that they are kept downstairs, there is a door at the bottom of the stairs to accommodate this. There is a small bedroom downstairs with a double bed and 2 larger rooms upstairs, one with a double bed, built in shelving and wardrobe and a charming, south facing window seat perfect for reading and one with a king size bed, a small en suite and double glass doors opening onto a Juliet balcony. Both bathrooms have baths and showers. Next to the second bathroom upstairs there is a small laundry room with washing machine and dryer. The master bedroom includes a separate office space and this whole area can be locked. There is safe off road parking.
St Merryn is a small village with a big community, it boasts all essentials (listed above). Just outside the village (a virtually flat , safe 10 minute walk) you will find Rick Steins pub, The Cornish Arms, just across the road from the ancient St Merryn Church which can date its history back as far as 1259. The entire area is renown as being a culinary paradise, with the port of Padstow only 10 minutes away. Padstow boasts many world class restaurants, Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant, Paul Ainsworth's Number 6, Prawn on the Lawn etc and the surrounding area includes many more. Trevose Golf and Country club is a short drive away, here you will find tennis courts and a sheltered outdoor heated swimming pool open to non members for a small fee, also a bar and restaurant with some of the most stunning views on the North Cornwall Coast. Seven glorious sandy beaches are within a couple of miles of the property and there are 2 very well equipped surf shops nearby hiring every thing from wetsuits to stand up paddle boards. A comprehensive guide of all of the best local amenities is left in the property for your perusal.
  • A lovely cottage to stay in. Great location near numerous beaches and some lovely restaurants within walking distance. The cottage is quirky with a lovely back garden with distant sea view. The beds are comfy and the cottage well appointed. There is parking for one car; (we had two) but parking in the road right outside was no problem. The beaches nearby are great. Nicky is a great host. Thank you.

    John2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very enjoyable stay in Nicky's home. It was very well equipped and very homely. Exceptionally clean and a great location for all the beautiful beaches. I would have no hesitation in looking to rebook again or recommending to friends and family.

    Michelle2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage in a great location. It is homely and stylish with a great view from the garden. There are several pubs, restaurants and shops you can walk to, and only a short drive to many lovely beaches - we picked a different one every day! Nicky was a great host too.

    Suzanne2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property in superb location with excellent hosts.

    Marcus2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nicky’s place was the perfect place for us to staying for our family holiday (3 kids). It was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. Welcome treats on arriving were a lovely touch. The cottage is surprisingly spacious and the garden was a lovely place to enjoy sitting in too. It had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Nicky couldn’t have been more helpful too. Shops and places to eat a few minutes walk away. Local beaches were really easy to get to and there were plenty of places to visit in the area too if needed. We’ve never been back to the same place twice for a holiday but we all agreed that we would be very happy to come back to Nicky’s place next year.

    Anna2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in the 300 year old house. We had a very warm welcome. Both the great developed house and the great stunning garden show how much love Nicky and Rob put into it. The house is of high quality and has everything you wish for and we loved to eat in the garden. Only 5 walk minutes away you have a bar, restaurant and shops. During our stay we enjoyed the beautiful beaches and enjoyed the waves. We also enjoyed walking through Padstow and cycling along the Camel trail. Many thanks ft for letting us stay with you. Definitely a recommendation!

    Ronald2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 8 nights at Nicky's place. She made us feel right at home in a space which gave a family of four plenty of places to get together, and equally to find some time for ourselves. The kitchen was well appointed with a nice seating area, and the living area has Netflix etc. The extra bathroom was a must for us, and they were both in excellent condition. Garden provided a great place to chill out and watch the sun set, and is filled with lovely plants. Having a place to park was important as it is on a busy road. A short 5 minute walk gets you to a grocers, a deli, restaurants, take-aways, surfshop (of course). We had some great food here. One of Britain's top 5 beaches is just over a mile walk away along a few pretty fields. The scenery along the coast is spectacular, and I would recommend that you explore the many bays. My personal favourite being Mother Ivey's. Within 5 miles there are a number of smaller places to visit like St Eval candle factory, Kernow Chocolate, Tarquin's Gin distillery...... Padstow, a mere 3 miles away, is a lovey place to visit, with excellent restaurants and the beautiful Prideaux Place a perfect spot for a Cornish cream tea. I am not one for returning to the same place for a holiday but I would make an exception for this part of of the UK. Thankyou Nicky.

Spray is a charming traditional Cornish cottage tucked away in the peaceful farming village of Penrose. Very close to some of North Cornwall's best beaches including Porthcothan Bay (dog friendly all year round), just over 2 miles away, Treyarnon, Constantine and Watergate Bay. A perfect place to stay to visit the bustling fishing village of Padstow with its award winning restaurants from Rick Stein's to Paul Ainsworth's or explore further afield to the Eden Project, Minack Theatre or St Ives.
Freshly decorated Spray is modern and contemporary but still retains lot of cottage charm and original features including flagstone flooring, wood burner (and some low ceilings in the dining area). There is an open plan kitchen dining area (with Nespresso coffee machine / Dualit toaster & kettle and induction hob), separate lounge with TV (inc Amazon fire stick) and a piano if you fancy a sing song! as well as a downstairs toilet. Whilst upstairs there are two bedrooms one with an en-suite (including bath) and a separate shower room. The garden is south west facing and very private and tranquil so provides the perfect spot to relax and read a book or dust off those barbecue skills. A complimentary welcome pack is left for guests on arrival including tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and sugar to help you settle in when you arrive. We welcome well behaved dogs who get their own bowls / bed and treats for the stay.
Penrose is a lovely little traditional hamlet tucked away in the Cornish countryside with local farms selling fresh eggs for breakfast and rolling hills and countryside views. The closest beach is approx. 2.5 miles away, a short drive or stroll down through the valley to Porthcothan Bay where there is a lovely coffee shop and deli and car parking - and a dog friendly beach all year round! One of the closest pubs / restaurant is the Cornish Arms owned and managed by the Rick Stein family which is approx 3 miles away along with The Travellers Rest and Farmers Arms both traditional nearby pubs.
  • A lovely little cottage perfect for a little break away! Easy to get to the coast and Padstow and a number of local attractions. Nicola is a wonderful host very attentive. I would highly recommend!

  • This is a true Airbnb gem, the house is absolutely lovely. The decor is very stylish but homely and we loved the little touches - daffodils and scones with clotted cream awaiting us! The nespresso machine is also a lovely touch, we brought our own pods so we got to enjoy a great coffee before starting the day. The location of the house is great, only a 12 minute drive from the Bedruthan Steps and only an hours drive from St Ives so plenty of exploring opportunities. We loved the fact the house has a secure private garden for our dog. Essentially this cottage was fantastic and we can’t wait to come back!

  • We arrived at spray to a lovely welcome hamper and the cottage looking homely and welcoming and of course the lovely heating making the entire cottage nice and warm. Spray is a lovely traditional cottage great for a relaxing break away for it all but also in a great location to explore the northern coastline and surrounding towns and villages, all a short drive away. After spending a week at this cottage we were sad to leave but will hopefully be back again. Definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break or a base for exploring Cornwall. Nicola’s communication was great before and throughout the stay aswell which is always a benefit. Can see this cottage being a popular air bnb.

  • I can only echo what other guests have said. Its Fab! We stayed over the weekend that Storm Dennis hit. Spray coped remarkably well given wind speeds & driving rain. We felt quite safe in our warm & cosy cottage tucking into a Cornish cream tea(waiting for us on arrival) sat by the log burner! We will return for sure, many thanks Nicola for a wonderful stay.

  • I’d recommend to anyone who’s looking for a lovely, authentic cosy cottage bursting with character and style to book Nicola’s cottage (it even comes with a piano in the lounge!). Handy location which is very close to some lovely Cornwall beaches. Great styling, value for money and terrific communication. There was even treats, a bed and blanket for the dog! Highly recommend.

    Raymund2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Spray to find a lovely welcoming cottage, complete with fresh flowers. It has a charming mix of contemporary decor and traditional quirky character, with some intriguing roof timbers which might have been made from the hull planking of a ship. The cottage had everything we needed. Nicola was very communicative and there were clear instructions about what was available (and how it works!), and also for nearby facilities. The beds are very comfortable and the place was lovely and warm. We had a lovely walk to Treyarnon Bay (about 4.5km), and the gorgeous beach at Porthcothan is only 30 minutes walk away. Bedruthan Steps and Mother Ivey's Bay are not far away either and both are worth a visit. We will definitely be recommending Spray to our friends and families. Thank you very much!

    Matthew2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • From start to finish the experience we had from booking this cottage was excellent. We were lucky to be the very first people to stay in this lovely little cottage. As soon as you walk in you feel at home. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. Nicola’s use of lighting means that every area feels warm and inviting. The cottage is very rural so make sure you bring all essentials that you may need when you first arrive such as milk etc. The nearest supermarket is about a 10 minute drive but if you’re not familiar with the little lanes this might not be something you wish to do at night. We were very impressed with the Amazon stick which meant our girls could watch Netflix in the mornings and me and my husband could continue our box set in the evenings! Nicola was an excellent host. She replied promptly and helped with any last minute date chances and questions. All in all a wonderful stay and I would 100% recommend. The Nieddu’s x

Figgy Barn is a newly renovated 18C barn, situated on a quiet farm lane 3 miles from famous fishing town of Padstow and the 7 surrounding bays all within a short drive. Visit Treyarnon, Constantine, Trevone, and closest Porthcothan bay... Dine in some of the counties finest eateries, such as Rick Stiens seafood, st petrocs bistro and Paul Ainsworths No6. (Booking in advance strongly advised). The accomodation boasts a stylish bathroom, kitchen/bedroom/living space. Perfect for couples!
Stylish and Contempary but with cottage charms. Clean, comfortable, airy and with all necessary mod cons. Country views. Long dog walks. Tractors, cattle, sheep passing by your door. Walks to the finest beaches in cornwall
Penrose is a beautiful rural peaceful Hamlet, surrounded by long walks along public footpaths. It is mainly inhabited by local families, and has very little of the "tourist" vibe that so many Cornish villages now have. A farmer sells his eggs on a stand outside his barn, livestock stroll freely through feilds, a stream trickles down through the valley towards Porthcothan bay, and secret a smugglers cave lies hidden beneath the undergrowth waiting to be discovered...
  • This is all that’s great about airbnb getting to stay in a location like this. I loved it.

  • A cosy Cornish slate barn with everything we needed as a couple for a great stay. Brilliant location for local beaches and access to Padstow and Newquay.

  • Fantastic location for visiting Padstow, calm and quiet in the countryside but within 15mins you can be in the heart of Padstow. The barn is lovely, clean, well equipped and Rose is a fantastic host. I’d highly recommend. Anna

    Anna2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Super little bijou place. Rose is an amazing hostess, nothing is too much trouble. The location is so quiet with great dog walks and better still so many outstanding golden beaches nearby. A real treat.

    Karen2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Figgy Barn was the perfect escape for us. We have a 1 year old so we were close enough to local beaches and attractions but remote enough to be away from any noise. The barn has a bath, cot and high chair making life and travelling much easier! It was cosy, clean and stylish and Rose was such a lovely, kind and helpful host with lots of communication and clear guidance upfront and very attentive during our stay. I would definitely recommend the cottage for a young family like ours.

    Leanne2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to stay! Cosy, clean, quiet and felt like home as soon as we arrived. Rose is an amazing host and even left us fresh milk in the fridge for when we arrived. Great communication and lovely little touches in the barn like candle in the bathroom and brochures for things to do in the area. Definitely recommend a stay here. Thank you:)

    Pamela2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Figgy barn is a cosy studio barn that has everything a couple could need for comfortable stay. The space is super clean and stylish and in a great rural location for exploring the North Cornish coast. Rose was a great host and made us and our two borders feel very welcome. I would highly recommend Figgy Barn.

Lanthorn house is a 200 year old, 5 bedroom stone house full of character and original features which has been completely renovated and sympathetically modernised. Set on an unmade, unnamed road within 5 minutes walk of Porthcothan Bay - a beautiful dog friendly, surfing beach with life guards at peak times. At low tide it opens up to a vast expanse of sand with amazing rock formations and caves. The property has private gardens and far reaching views over the valley to the Atlantic Ocean.
Lanthorn house sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms. It has 2 separate sitting rooms - one on ground floor and one on first floor, kitchen/breakfast room and separate dinning room, study area, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with showers - one on ground floor. Guests can use all rooms in the house and all equipment. There are 2 TVs - one in the master bedroom (Freeview) and one in the upstairs sitting room (Sky TV) and a DVD player. The house has high speed internet access, darts/table football and an outside shower. There is ample parking for 4 cars. In the garden there is a table and bench which seats 10, a patio table with 4 chairs, a love seat with cushion and a bench with sea views. The top terrace of the garden is steep so is separated by a gate and should only be accessed by children under adult supervision.
Porthcothan has a pub with amazing beach views which is 5 minutes walk from the house and a beach shop (open Easter to October) where you can hire surf boards and buy all your essentials including fabulous ice-creams . Padstow is 4 miles away and Newquay 6 miles so a host of facilities from fine dinning to days out are within a short drive. Porthcothan Bay is the last of Padstow's "7 bays for 7 days" so there are 6 more dog friendly (all year round) beaches to explore all within a 10 minute drive.
  • Fabulous house, location and host. A wonderful base for anyone wanting to explore this charming, beautiful area. Just make sure that you book long enough, as time goes far too quickly.

    Fi2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, with everything you need plus more. Even on rainy days there is something to entertain the family. DVD, jigsaws, books, table football, darts. It kept 15year - 78year olds happy. Plenty of bathrooms, powerful showers, whole house spotless clean. Location good, easy access to the beach was a wild path (not suitable for less able walkers or pushchairs). Lovely sunsets at the local pub or watergate bay. Cornish Arms provide homemade meals and good beer. Would definitely consider returning. Thank you.

    Tracy2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect stay for a good group of family or friends. The 2 lounges made it perfect to host lots of people. Plenty of seating at the dining room and farm style kitchen. We stayed for a 4 day break, took 6 hours to get there, and we felt instantly at home when we arrived. Loved the games room, and the short walk to the beach. Absolutely loved this place, and would happily return again! Thank you.

    Georgie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great house for big groups lots of areas to to relax outside of the lovely bedrooms. Would definitely recommend this place if you want to visit Padstow or the surrounding areas as it is central to lots of attractions. Would definitely come back and stay here again

    James2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Superb property, off the beaten track but a short stroll to the beach, even shorter to the pub and a simple drive into Padstow. The property adequately accommodates 10 people in 5 bedrooms but importantly provides individual spaces with one bedroom a suite, tables to sit around in the kitchen and dining room and a further two lounges. If you are looking for a base to walk the coastal paths, play in the waves, with the option of dropping into Padstow for shopping, lunch or diner, you will struggle to better spending time at Lanthorn House.

    Bruce2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect house for a large group of friends or two families in an outstanding location just a few minutes walk from the beach. Plenty of well thought out touches in the house to help make your stay a proper joy. Could not fault it in any way. Brilliant.

Every care has been taken to provide a comfortable, spacious property ideal for a family holiday. Lucerne enjoys uninterrupted views over farmland to the coast. From the garden and decked area you can see Trevose Head and as daylight fades in the evenings you'll be able to count the flashes from the light house - one every 7.5 seconds. The nearest beach, Porthcothan, is just over 1 mile away and several other glorious sandy beaches are easily within reach.
  • The house is fantastic, very clean with anything we could possibly need and all topped off with amazing views. Lucy was a great host and made us feel very welcome upon arrival. Highly recommended and I can only imagine it would be even more spectacular in the summer.

    Rob2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Lucerne as a party of 6 with 4 adults, 1 toddler and 1 infant. It suited us very well, and we loved staying here. Very quiet and close to lots of natural beauty especially Bedruthen steps which was a highlight. 2 main large bedrooms (with very comfortable beds) upstairs with smaller single bedroom downstairs with bunks with large open plan living dining suited us very well. 2 Bathrooms was great. Would highly recommend and would stay again. Thanks Lucy!

  • Newly-built detached cottage on a blissfully quiet arable farm in St Eval. Surrounded by fields of barley overlooking the countryside towards the North Cornwall coast. Spotlessly clean with great amenities. Walk-in monsoon shower was particularly welcome. Very comfortable beds too. Lawn with picnic bench and a nice decked area with table and seating. Superb views. Our host Lucy was very welcoming and lives in the farmhouse next door. Was easy to find with the directions given. Mobile reception is patchy - so good Wi-Fi was appreciated. Bedruthan steps and Porthcothan bay very close by. St Eval church and nearby candle factory worth a visit. Short drive to Padstow and the North Cornwall beaches. We had a fantastic holiday here and perfect for a peaceful stay near the coast.

  • Lovely house in good location with amazing views. The house is very clean and has everything you need.

  • A very lovely place. Lucy is a great host she welcomes you warmly and does everything she can to make the guest feel welcome.

    Bibesh2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Could not fault Lucy’s property. Stunning views (can even see the sea!), spacious rooms and spotless. The house was lovely for our girls trip, but we commented that it would be absolutely ideal for a family holiday to Cornwall. The garden is entirely enclosed and neatly kept, and the open plan kitchen/diner/lounge with big patio doors is ideal for spending time altogether whilst away. Lucy couldn’t have been a better host; she greeted us on arrival outside but allowed us to discover the house ourselves. She was the perfect balance of welcoming and available, but not at all intrusive. Overall, one of the best places I’ve stayed and would highly recommend!

    Amie2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely house. Better than the pictures even. The main bed is a super king which is great and very comfortable the house is sparkling clean with everything you need. Lucy is a super host as she couldn’t have been more helpful when we had a problem with the WiFi which was excellent when it was sorted just a temporary glitch. The location and views are fantastic. Don’t hesitate to book.

  • Lucy was a great host and was really quick responding to any questions. The house was great it has fantastic views and a lovely garden. The house was very clean and is in such a good location near Newquay and Padstow and the beaches around the area are amazing. We couldn't of asked for more!

Stunning 5-bedroom semi-detached house with large garden and ample parking, situated in a peaceful valley, and only a 5 minute walk from the beautiful sands of Porthcothan beach. Close to the South West Coastal Path, so there is plenty of walking to be enjoyed whilst the nearby towns offer plenty of great restaurants and amenities to entertain adults and children alike.
The Mill House is a semi detached house built in 1897 and is situated at the end of a quiet, rough track in a beautiful valley, only a 5 minute walk from a sandy beach. Owing to being the penultimate house on this private road, it is very peaceful and is the perfect combination of coastal and country. The house has 5 bedrooms and was entirely refurbished in 2013/14. It boasts a large kitchen dining area with ample space for 10 to dine, whilst a modest sized living room is situated off this space and contains a wood burning stove. The living room has a modern, internet enabled TV and there is very good wifi at the house. The house is split over three floors with a substantial bathroom on each floor, fitted with power showers and heated towel rails to dry your beach clothes. The top floor is one entire bedroom and ensuite bathroom with original feature wall and skylights and dormer windows that provide nice views over the garden and valley to the rear. There are four rooms on the 1st floor comprising of a children's room with a bunk bed for two, a further room with two separate beds, followed by a small room with a double bed and larger room with double bed adjacent to the bathroom. The large garden is situated to the front of the house and offers plenty of space for children to play. The garden is south facing and therefore gets the sun virtually all day. There is a patio area with a table and seating for at least 8 whilst a dairy provides storage space for surfboards and other beach gear. There is a brick built BBQ adjacent to the patio for the outdoor cooking enthusiasts. The parking borders the garden and can accommodate at least 4 cars when well parked. If needed, a car can also park to the left hand side of the house. The beach is accessed via a footpath across the field. Owing to this, depending on the weather, this footpath can become muddy and wet so wellies or walking boots are recommended.
The local Porthcothan beach is a spectacular part of the Cornish coastline that avoids getting too busy thanks to the modest car park. At high tide, this sandy beach is small but becomes enormous and long once the tide goes out. This enables plenty of opportunities for rock pooling and coasteering as well as swimming and surfing. During the school holidays this beach has a life guard patrol and dogs are welcome all year round. The beach benefits from a fantastic little shop (run by Emma and Barney) that sells the essentials as well as coffee, ice cream and beach toys. The beaches of Treyarnon and Constantine are walkable in under 1 hour from Porthcothan whilst in the other direction, the Bedruthan Steps and their tea room can be found in a similar time. Within a 10 minute drive of the house is the town of Padstow where plenty of excellent restaurants can be found. There is also a stunning walk / cycle from Padstow to Wadebridge along an abandoned railway track which is highly recommend. In the other direction can be found Watergate Bay where Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant and the Watergate Bay Hotel can be found (the Living Space being a great place to dine when open to nonresidents). Excellent food can also be found at the Scarlet in Mawgan Porth amoung other places. There are plenty of amenities nearby from a children's farm to surf schools, boat tours, St Eval candle factory, go-karting, numerous walks to name just a few. You will not get bored!

Treyarnon Bay is a fabulous large surfing beach with beautiful golden sand. Wonderful for families, building sandcastles, fishing in rock pools and surfing. When the tide is out there is a large natural swimming pool – an amazing experience not to be missed. The beach also has a local convenience store in the summer months – handy for milk and a morning newspaper and there are a few pop up cafes along the beach. At Constantine Bay you can indulge in an ice cream or enjoy the perfect cappuccino. Open all year, at Treyarnon Bay there is also a youth hostel situated just off the beach, which serves food and good beer and wine.
  • Location and views are amazing. short drive to Padstow which is a very dog friendly town. The beach is beautiful and only a minutes walk. lots of shade or sunshine. Fab convenience store on your doorstep for things you might forget to pack. I would come back to this apartment in a heartbeat. Really lovely.

  • Great place! Amazing location and immaculately clean. All staff on site are extremely friendly and helpful. In the day the car park outside the property is full and the fish n chip van can spoil an evenings view of the sea but you won’t find a better place to stay at this incredible beach! So so easy to get to the beach without the need to bring the kitchen sink! The host was extremely thoughtful and generous and we would definitely recommend this place with 5 stars!

  • As a family staying away for a special wedding we couldn’t have asked for more. The kiddies play room was brilliant and superbly thoughtful. Each bedroom was spacious and beautifully presented. Richard was a warm and responsive host who even shared his Sky pin to allow us to access catch up tv. The house was overall superb and fitted three couples with aplomb. Thanks for making our hectic week feel luxurious :)

  • Great family friendly house - clean with a great kitchen/dining room and cosy living room. Location was fab. We visited the Eden project, Newquay Aquarium, Padstow and lots of local beaches - all within 10-40 minutes drive. The local Chinese takeaway was great and we loved the bakery just around the corner, as well as a small play park for younger kids. Although a few attractions were closed we really enjoyed the quiet roads/beaches etc on our first visit to Cornwall out of season and would love to come back again soon!

Nestled between Newquay and Padstow, Porthcothan Beach is a beautiful North West facing cove backed by grassy dunes. Featured in the Marine Conservation Society Good Beach Guide for 2014 you may also recognise it from BBC’s Poldark as it features as Nampara cove. With the South West Coast Path running through Porthcothan Bay, the surrounding area is easily accessible, where you can enjoy the spectacular panoramic views. The beach has its own small shop with a reasonable sized council carpark right opposite the beach. However if you fancied stretching your legs a bit further, National Trust’s Bedruthan Steps offering stunning clifftop views, is approx 45min walk (2.1 miles). Padstow is just a 16min drive away offering a plethora of restaurants, cafe’s, pubs and many wonderful boutique shops. Rick Stein has his infamous restaurant, cafe and cookery school whilst also available during the summer months are boat trips, sea life tours and guided walks. In the opposite direction is Newquay (8.7 miles away). Larger than Padstow, Newquay is the surfer’s mecca during the summer. Even if you’re not into catching the waves, you can always chill out on the beach or paddle in the shallows. With plenty of shops and eateries it’s the perfect place to while away a day taking in the sea air.

The village of Penrose is close to the beautiful '7 Bays' including Porthcothan, Treyarnon, Constantine, Mother Ivey's and Harlyn. Trevose Golf Club is 5 miles away, and Newquay airport is 15 minutes drive away. The picturesque fishing village of Padstow is 10 minutes away by car, here you will find many boutique shops and restaurants. The local area gets busy in peak times but Penrose always remains quiet and peaceful. We have excellent local knowledge and can advise on great places to eat and visit :)

St.Merryn village is 2 miles away that has shops, restaurants, a hairdressers, pubs, a bakery, a church and a garage. The nearest supermarket is Tesco's in Padstow. • We are just back from a wonderful week at Roselea - a beautiful cottage with everything you could need and in the perfect location to explore and enjoy stunning Cornwall. Nina and Dan were so lovely on arrival and very fast responding prior to our arrival. The cottage was so clean and beautifully styled. We could not recommend Roselea more. Thank you so much for having us!

  • This was a lovely stylish home to stay in. The beds were very comfy so we had really good sleep after surfing and body boarding at the different local beeches. It’s very quiet and away from it all. The kitchen was great to cook in. My children all loved relaxing in the house in the evenings!

    Selina2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Truly beautiful home, with gorgeous décor throughout. We had everything we needed and the place was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfy and lots of little touches made it feel like a home away from home. Perfectly located for exploring the surrounding beaches, with lots of amazing, relatively quiet coves within 5-15 mins drive. Thanks so much Nina and Dan!

    Kay2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful family friendly home! Lovely quiet location, with only a short drive to the local beaches and some lovely places to eat. The hosts were extremely prompt with communication, very friendly and have thought of everything for their home. The little welcome bits were a lovely touch too! Our girls loved the bunk beds and were thrilled to be allowed to play with the toys that were in the children's bedroom.

    Catherine2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is incredible. It is the perfect base for a family looking to relax or explore Cornwall. Nina and Dan are great hosts - we were welcomed with fresh bread and eggs and some extra luxuries in the fridge. The place is spotless and beautifully looked after. Not only does it look great but it is so comfortable. Our 2 year old had the time of his life - the home is spacious enough for him to run around in and there were lots of toys that Nina and Dan allowed him to play with. The home is located in a peaceful little village away from all the commotion of a busy town but it is only a 10 to 15 minute drive to nearby towns and beaches so it has the convenience of both worlds. I cannot recommend this place highly enough - we didn't want to leave and we plan on coming back again as soon as we can. This home has everything you could possibly want and much more.

    James2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean, comfortable, every possible requirement has been thought off, lovely hosts, delightful location, best air bnb yet, cannot praise the accommodation highly enough, could have moved in thank you Nina and dan x

    Viv2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nina & Dan’s house is perfect if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and with all the comfort, home appliances and things generally that you’d want in a house whilst away for a week. Perfect for couples and also for families. It’s super quiet and peaceful. Coming from London that’s what I enjoyed the most. Nicely placed 10 minutes from Padstow and close to some beautiful beaches and walks. You will definitely want a car, though. Nina’s contact was always just what you would want and I sensed that she and Dan were ready to help if I had needed any. But as I didn’t, I was just left quietly alone in the house for the week. You’ll definitely enjoy this holiday home. Gary

    Gary2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We booked at the last minute to go to Penrose - literally the day before we arrived - but this was no problem at all. The house is fantastic and is even better than the photos show. There’s plenty of space for a family - we are two adults and a baby. The parking is really good - we had a station wagon and there would have been space for another small car. We loved the location as it’s easy to get to the local beaches and places of interest as well as further afield on the south coast. Nina and Dan answered all of my messages really quickly and were quick to offer advice and suggestions. The place was spotlessly clean with great amenities. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Seagulls is a lovely house a very short walk from Porthcothan bay. The house has everything you'd need and Wendy and Geoff are great at communicating. I'd recommend this place for anyone who wants a quiet retreat/ family holiday by the seaside.

    Carla2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the house is gigantic, 200m to the beach and from the terrace you could watch the sunset. There is nothing missing and the house is quite spacious. The garden is a small paradise, everywhere colorful flowers, fruit trees, shrubs ... We felt very comfortable! We had a wonderful time in Porthcothan Bay. Just dreamlike the bay !!! The beach and the cliffs are phenomenal, there was always something new to discover ... caves, coves, rock formations, viewpoints over the sea ... The beach is a real insider tip, unlike the other bays in which we were (St.Ilves, Newquay, ..) he is not overrun by tourists. Was monitored by lifeguards until 6pm.

    Simone2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Seagulls has all the ingredients for a wonderful holiday - it is in the most stunning location, only 5 mins from the beach and is really comfortable for 4 people.

    Kathryn2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • 'Seagulls' is a wonderful place for a holiday. It is exceptionally relaxing, with very good up-do-date amenities, a quiet location, convenient parking and a warm and cosy feel. The garden is lovely and the short stroll to the outstanding beach is brilliant. There is a handy beach shop for essentials, papers, coffee, ice cream, but this is a relatively quiet part of the coast and ideal for starting coastal walks. Communication was great and gaining access is simple so you can arrive any time. Overall thoroughly recommended.

    Martin2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Seagulls was a great homely place. Just a short walk from the beach where you can relax enjoy a bit of bodyboarding by day and BBQ by evening. Beautiful scenery along the headland as you amble along to Constantine bay stopping off at the YHA for lunch at Treyarnon Bay. Seagulls was everything you could want for a relaxing chilled out holiday.

It's about a 15 minute walk from the beach and there is no footpath or sidewalk for most of the way but if you're driving anyway, it's not a problem. The breakfast is FANTASTIC, too. Thanks, Michelle!

Treyarnon beach and Constantine Bay are our favourite beaches, so it was lovely. The garden was perfect if you have a dog, for drying them off in an enclosed safe space. • A comfortable, clean and well-equipped house which we used for 3 nights off season (November) while walking the south west coast path, which runs a short distance away. Although booked through Airbnb, it is a commercial holiday let run by a company in Sussex. We met the caretaker, Kirsty, on arrival who was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Treyarnon is one of the 7 Bays between Trevone and Porthcothan, and all are walking distance from the house. The area's famous for unspoilt scenery and surf beaches. The picturesque harbour town of Padstow is 4 miles away, with many good shops and restaurants.
  • Just an amazing house. Kathy said we wouldn't be disappointed and we weren't . The best feature was the glass doored, wooden floored balcony overlooking the beach and sea.

  • This place is heaven. The most idyllic setting and private access to one of the best bays in Cornwall. The house is spacious and immaculate. Our host even left wine and a few other bits to welcome us. Lovely touch. Would highly recommend and hope to be back soon!

  • Just wow! The pictures look great but you will still be overwhelmed at the beauty of this house and location when you arrive - it’s perfect!!

    Catherine2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy’s house is by far the best air bnb we have all stayed in. The photos do not do it justice, it exceeded all our expectations. We booked it for my father in laws 70th, 8 adults and 3x under 3’s. We wanted for nothing. The house has been very well designed, everything in the house is chosen to a very high spec and finished to a very high quality. The views from every room are absolutely breath taking, rain or shine! The beach is less than a minute walk out of a private gate, we have never had such a convenient beach experience with a hot outdoor shower and purpose built utility shower rinse down room straight off the beach! Kathy was extremely helpful, quick to respond, and was very accommodating to the 3 children we had with us. We all came away feeling completely rejuvenated and will 100% be returning next year! Thank you for opening your house for others to enjoy!

  • This house lives up to and far beyond all expectations! I have just returned from a long weekend with a group of friends and we have had the most amazing time! From sitting on the balcony or in the hot tub enjoying the views to running down to what feels like your own private cove to body board, this house has it all! The host, Kathy, left us a fabulous welcome pack and has thought of everything to ensure your stay is one to remember. I can’t wait to return!

  • A spacious family home with everything you need to feel at home! A great location to explore - Eden project / cycling the Camel Path) and the amazing beach at Treyarnon Bay where you can expect great waves for body boarding. Lots of delicious local eateries nearby too. We had a fantastic week in Cornwall.

  • Katie is so helpful and gives you plenty information ahead of your stay for the cottage aswell as places close by! Cottage is beautiful, set in such a lovely place with plenty nearby but also perfect location to go exploring further. Our whole family plus dog stayed here and enjoyed our first holiday in Cornwall.

    Vicky2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • A most comfortable, warm and welcoming home. We were a family of eight with ages ranging from 8 to 70. We were coming from three different locations and on arrival it was a delightful touch to have a home-baked cake and tea facilities provided. The rooms were spacious and quiet and the situation of the house was very peaceful. There is a hot tub in the garden with views over the countryside. The nearest beach, Treyarnon, is approximately 15 minutes walk away. If you walk on another 10 minutes, you arrive at Constantine Bay. Both beaches are lovely and enjoyed in equal measure by both the children and the dogs. There is a youth hostel Association above Treyarnon beach. The food was very reasonably priced, enjoyable and with excellent service. Katie is very friendly and was most helpful in all respects. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending a stay in Hillside.

  • Beautiful home, and fantastic place to spend Christmas altogether as an extended family! Plenty of space in the house for everyone to find their corner! The drive is tricky but you get used to it. Utility room is fab for muddy boots and dogs!

    Olivia2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • A very cosy, comfortable home from home. Beautifully clean and well equipped. The house had a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere and the generous space meant we could all spread out. Being able to walk to the beach in a matter of minutes was fantastic, in fact we hardly used the car!

    Chris2018-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great property. Well situated for the bay, with a nice private place to sit and relax. Fabulous views of the sunsets from the deck or the hot tub. Evenings watching local barn owl hunting and lots of other birds. Katy and Helen were very helpful throughout our stay. The warning about the tight drive was most useful. Reversing cameras have never been so helpful.
