It's also just a stone's throw from Watergate Bay, home to Jamie Oliver's Fifteen and a good base from which to learn to surf or explore Cornwall's other treasures such as the Minack Theatre and the Eden Project. The apartment itself is laden with everything you need to make your holiday a fabulously easy one, with on-site parking, amazing sea views, TV, DVD player, WiFi, central heating, all linen and towels. The Living Space The open plan suite is fitted with fully equipped kitchen, dining area and chill out lounge overlooking Mawgan Porth's beautiful beach. The first allows al fresco picnic dining; the second making the perfect roof-spot for tanning and chilling. Up some steep steps is where the Beach Pad sits atop a busy seasonal restaurant serving the most delicious seafood and steaks as well as hearty breakfasts, steaming coffees, lounging lunches and sunset cocktails [as a Beach Pad guest you benefit from 10% discount on all food and drink throughout your stay!]
  • Beautiful apart with a matching view of the beach. Very warm and welcoming. Highly recommend

  • Wow! What a wonderful location. We had such a relaxed cosy weekend in this lovely apartment. Who needs to put the TV on with a view like this one! So handy for coastal walks, beach time and relaxing. We also had a really fantastic evening meal at The Catch ( underneath).

    Lisa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We booked a two night stay, starting on Jan 28th. The place was easy to find, and warm and welcoming on arrival. Key safe check-in made everything easy. The place was spotless, with all the everyday essentials to hand. Although compact, the flat was stylishly decorated, and easy to relax in. Right next door is a comfy pub with good food, and on the other side, a well-stocked local shop. The only disappointment was that the seafood restaurant beneath the flat wasn’t open during our stay. (Only weekends in low season.) The best bit; the VIEW! Fantastic vista from the lounge area, straight onto the sandy beach. Watching the waves crashing in was mesmerising. Didn’t need the TV. As the beach is dog-friendly, our two boys are still worn out!

  • Great little flat in a lovely location.

    Tina2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A property set in a perfect location where you can watch the sea roll in from the lounge window. Warm and cozy accommodation with an excellent restaurant below. Very helpful and accommodating owner.

  • This beach hut was such an unexpected surprise! It is clean and warm (so nice to come to the hut after all day of exploring Cornwall) and is equipped with all the bits and bobs you will need. It was a real bliss to stay in the hut and the seaview is out of this world. I feel very lucky we could stay there.

  • Great place, great location and local facilities all on hand.

A small b&b within only a stone's throw of the harbour and in the midst of the shops and restaurants of this lovely Cornish harbour town. We only let one double bedroom with an ensuite cloakroom with bathroom adjacent. Our price includes breakfast.
Great location in the middle of town close to shops, pubs, and restaurants.
  • Pam and Peter were very welcoming. They provided us with a lovely breakfast and the b&b is in a perfect location to explore Padstow and the nearby beaches and bays.

Recently refurbished luxury holiday home, with sea and countryside views, hot tub, outside terraces, decking and private gardens. Tygwella is situated adjoining the National Trust headland, overlooking Porthcothan Bay, 5 miles from Padstow . The house is suitable for family beach holidays, or for groups of families or friends looking for a special place to spend time relaxing by the coast. We look forward to welcoming you to our very special place by the sea.
We have created a light and airy space, for you and your party to enjoy the breathtaking views out to sea and over the beautiful river valley. The large sitting room with seating for 10, TV and Sonos player, has bifold doors out onto the deck, which enjoys views over the sea and the river valley. The dining table seats 10 in comfort, for memorable mealtimes. The well equipped kitchen has a 5 hob halogen hob, with two fan ovens below. There is a dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. We have a large American fridge freezer with plenty of space. The kitchen is equipped with a long list of tools and utensils, and there are plentiful supplies of crockery and glasses. We have 5 bedrooms, including the stunning master bedroom, with bifold doors onto its own terrace, and two of the other bedrooms with French doors onto the deck. There are 4 bathrooms ( 2 with baths, all with showers, WC & washbasins). The house is set at the end of a lane, and has its own gated parking for 3/4 cars ( extra parking in the lane if required) The garden is fully fenced/walled in so is suitable for dogs The house has central heating and plentiful supplies of hot water The beach is a 5 minute walk over the headland, and the SW Coastal path is 2 minutes from the house.
Porthcothan Bay, a beautiful , sandy, surfing beach,is situated a 5 minute walk over the headland in front of the house. Porthcothan is a quiet bay , with a pub ( open all year) and a beach shop open from April to October. The village of St.Merryn situated 3 miles away has a convenience store, bakery and petrol station, as well as a number of pubs, restaurants and take aways. The fishing town of Padstow is situated 5 miles to the North, and the town of Newquay ( with airport and railway station ) is 10 miles to the south.
  • This place is beautiful. Just how it is in pictures, nothing is deceiving! There is so much space and the hot tub was incredible. Even on a windy/wet weekend we made the most of the beach which was only a 5 minute walk down the hill and had a Sunday lunch at the Tredrea Pub just at the end of the lane. Everything about this house was spotless and perfect! Newquay only being 25 mins away was perfect for a day out exploring and probably the cheapest taxi we’ve ever paid for on a night out. 10/10 for everything!

    Megan2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful- perfect for a family get together with lots of social space. Often with holiday homes you can find yourselves fighting over the bathrooms but there are 4 in the house so this wasn’t a problem. The views are stunning and the location on the coast path is fantastic but still private as the house faces away from the coast path over the village. Everything was clean and several of our guests commented on how well equipped the kitchen was. There was nothing else we could have needed! I would definitely recommend the property and would love to go back when we’re not in the midst of Storm Dennis!

    Grace2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely holiday home. Excellent communication with David for any concerns or information needed. Home was spacious, clean, accommodating, modern with really lovely views. Hot tub was an added bonus. Would definitely come back especially in the summer.

    Natasha2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent facilities, really well decorated, friendly fast communication, lovely location, perfect for a rest & recuperation in beautiful surroundings, hopefully we will come back again.

    Dave2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We returned to David’s place for the 2nd time this year as we enjoyed it so much the first time. A lovely house with gorgeous views. Very well equipped kitchen - had everything we needed and more for our Christmas roast dinner! We really appreciated the Prosecco that had been left in the fridge for our arrival - thank you. We will surely be returning again at some point.

    Beth2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing, really nicely laid out with a fantastic view from all areas especially the master bedroom (you'll need to flip a coin for that room) really comfortable and lots of space! very convenient with 4 bathrooms. The hot tub is must even in the rain! david was very helpful and we cant rate this place enough!! Thank you for making our celebration very special.

    Tami2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

  • Great location, the property is a short walk from the coastal path and this part of the North Cornwall coastline is very impressive, so despite visiting during winter there were plenty of opportunities for us to get out and enjoy the countryside. There is also a lovely sandy beach 5 mins walk away. The house itself exceeded our expectations and is actually more spacious than the photos suggest. The small second reception room was useful for our teenage son to use to get on with his GCSE revision undisturbed. Rick Stein's Cornwall Arms pub is a 5 minute drive away and serves excellent pub food as you would expect. I recommend and we hope return one day.

Touchstone is a character filled, comfortable, three bedroom holiday home a minute from the beach in Porthcothan. It has a large amount of garden & outdoor space, plus lots of family games, books & DVDs to enjoy by the wood burner in the evenings. We are unable to provide bed linen & towels, but the house has everything else that you could possibly need. There are six other local bays to explore and large stretches of National Trust Coastline walks as well as the delights of Padstow & beyond.
Our house is unique for its easy access to the beach. Our beach is unique for the wonderful amount of space at low tide and for being regarded as one of the safer beaches. Our two dogs adore their regular trips down here, and other well-behaved dogs are very welcome to stay too! Please note we are not able to provide bedding and towels, so please remember to bring your own (the double bed is a king size bed). £1 coins are needed for the electricity meter, however we have night storage heaters which are incredibly effective. There are lots of nooks and crannies to explore in the garden, including several grass lawn areas, a sunny patio at the back of the house and decking in the front.
The house is situated in a lane just off the coast road. It is a very peaceful, uncrowded hamlet with a seasonal beach shop which opens between April and the end of September. The Porthcothan Bay Stores website has an extremely comprehensive description of everything that is available in the area, so do visit porthcothanbaystores.co.uk
  • What a great house and superb location! Everything you would need is here and just over the road to the beach and South West Coast Path.

    Alan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant location. Lovely large family house with all the facilities and amenities that you might need for a family holiday. No WiFi. No signal. Great for a real relax !

    Lizzie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in Ros' home. Firstly the instructions were incredibly detailed and we had no problem at all finding everything we needed for the duration of the stay. Secondly, it was extremely affordable - probably due to the fact we were able to be self-sufficient with sheets and £'s for the electricity meter - but this made it more of an adventure. Thirdly communication was great - Ros answered all of my questions very promptly and I had all the info I needed before arrival. Porthcothan is a gem on the West Cornish coast, the beach being absolutely beautiful and moments from the Bedruthen steps and other countryside walks and explorations. Thank you so much.

    Susie2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, Ros is extremely helpful too.

    Cara2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location!! We have just returned from a perfect week staying at Ros and Tim's lovely home. The location is perfect - just a few minutes walk from the beach and the fabulous coastal path. Even with 2 teenagers in tow we only used the car once and instead spent the whole time on the beach, walking the coastal path, bodyboarding and enjoying lazing on the deck at the house. The house is clearly a cherished family home and has a lovely warm and happy feel to it - beds were comfy and every utensil/item you could need is there. Plenty of books, DVDs and games so even on a wet day there is plenty to do - no wifi but was great to get away from it all. There's a pretty garden out the back and a deck out the front. The local Porthcothan Bay Stores is just a minute or two away on foot and is fab - we hired wetsuits/boards there and enjoyed lots of their tasty treats on offer. It also stocked most essentials too. Berryfields - a short walk away - was great for cream teas too! This was one of our best family holidays in the UK and we hope to return again.

    Amanda2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! A fabulous location, 2 mins walk from the beach. The home is very unique, Enjoyed listening to the vinyl collection. We’re hoping to visit again soon.

    Greta2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • PROS: Great communication with Owner Ros Trouble free check in and out Touchstone is a good sized house, there were only the two of us (with dog!) but 2 families with 4-5 kids could fit. Awesome location, 10 minutes drive to Padstow or Trevone/Harlyn beaches, 25 mins from Newquay. Beach and cliff walks are only a 2 minute stroll from the front door, superb! CONS: Touchstone is a little 'tired' in places with worn carpets and sofas etc and just general cosmetic stuff mainly, but at these rates I think it's pretty churlish to complain! We stayed for a few days of walks with dog, visit some local places of interest and eat a lot of fine food. On the latter for a special occasion we can highly rate Paul Ainsworth's No.6 in Padstow, The Olive Tree in St Merryn 5 mins up the road was a good find and good value. Jamie's 15 at Watergate Bay was a lovely spot and pretty darned good food as well. The Fish House at Fistral Bay, Newquay was another great find.

Highly recommend Travellers Rest for dinner! And The Beach Hut at Watergate Bay for breakfast looking out on the surf.

The location of the studio is also great for visiting the other bays nearby (Treyarnon and Constantine) and close enough to drive to St Ives too. Best value for money in Cornwall - highly recommend, would stay again! Perfect for two!

The cottage has a cosy, open-plan living/dining/kitchen with electric cooker & microwave. There is a king size double bedroom & small bunk room. • My friend and I had such a lovely stay. The place was in the perfect location to get to and from padstow as well as other Cornwall towns and villages, the cottage was also quiet and allowed us to have a very relaxing countryside break. The cottage was quaint and so clean. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

  • Very rural position yet only 5 minutes from Padstow and 15 from Wadebridge. Ideal for a couple small family. Thoroughly recommended.

  • A wonderful peaceful cottage tucked away, with only the sound of sheep and birds in the daytime and the occasional out in the evening. The space was very well equipped, extremely clean, and warm. Sarah was the perfect host, and very knowledgeable about the area. We were given some very useful tips about local walks and places to eat, all of which we try to follow up. We had a lovely birthday meal at the nearby Pickwick in, which is highly recommended if you are staying with Sarah. Although, I cannot fault The accommodation, and hope to visit again very soon.

  • A really lovely cozy place, close to the beach in a fantastic location

  • Really relaxing quiet spot by the beach

    Daniel2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and very comfortable shepherds hut. Gorgeous outdoor seating area. Couple of minutes walk to the beach - perfect!!

    Alice2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Everything we needed and more. Being able to walk to a beautiful beach in a matter of minutes was fantastic. Can’t wait for the second hut to be ready so the whole family can come.

    Lynne2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you want from a Shepherds hut! We attended surf camp in Harlyn Bay and this was a fantastic location for us to stay in whilst surfing and it really was a great experience. The hut is absolutely immaculate and has a really clear check in procedure. The facilities inside the hut are also great, really good to have a bathroom within the hut, most Shepherds huts I have looked at have outside bathrooms so this was a luxury! It was a great touch to have a hose outside too to get rid of sand from our wetsuits. Also is a very short walk to a spectacular beach - great for sunset picnics! Thanks for a great stay, we will be returning!

    Georgia2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Meg’s shepherds hut is beautifully presented and has everything you would need. It’s close enough to the beach to pop down the road for a swim without having to take kit with you. It’s the perfect spot to explore some of the SW coast path, which is easily accessible from the hut.

    Zoe2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place which had everything you could want. Located under 100m from the beach it was a perfect hideout for the weekend. Extremely quiet and not overlooked. Good location to visit Padstow and Newquay too.

    Craig2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolute gem of an air bnb. It is perfect for two people, with an amazing kitchen and bathroom (wouldn't expect it looking from the outside) and an extremely comfy bed. The location is private and secluded and you feel as though you have escaped, however a 5 minute walk down the adjacent road and you are on porthcathon beach. There is a pub within 1 minute walk however you hear no noise from here, and there is a lovely shop on the beach which has a variety of things you may need. It's a perfect location within 10-15 minute drive of Padstow, Mawgan Porth & Watergage bay. Everything was cleaned excellently, couldn't have wished for anything more from our stay. Meg is a wonderful host who we bumped into on one occasion and was extremely welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again, as we cannot resist a location so beautiful. The outdoor space around the hut is also wonderful, with an outdoor seating area with a fire pit/bbq if you require. If you're not booked in to stay here, you should be!

Great value caravan accommodation for up to 6 ppl 5 minute walk from a beautiful quiet Cornish beach. Minutes away from the world famous Padstow harbour and well placed to explore the stunning county of Cornwall. Child friendly facilities.
The caravan is on a very high quality site with full amenities
  • Lovely caravan in a gorgeous part of Cornwall. Close to Padstow, pubs, and pasties... and only a short walk from the beach too! We will definitely return (although maybe next time we’ll come when the weather’s a bit warmer!). Thanks for having us, Jeanette.

    Vicki2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanette was a great host and responded quickly to all our enquiries. The caravan was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. It is located in a beautiful location close to some stunning beaches and ideal for coastal walks.

    Julie2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in this caravan, everything we needed was there and we loved the welcoming gift of flowers, wine and biscuits! It’s in a great location on the site and the site is in a perfect location to explore the north coast and all it has to offer. The beach being a 5 minute walk is the cherry on the cake! We will definitely be back.

Lanthorn house is a 200 year old, 5 bedroom stone house full of character and original features which has been completely renovated and sympathetically modernised. Set on an unmade, unnamed road within 5 minutes walk of Porthcothan Bay - a beautiful dog friendly, surfing beach with life guards at peak times. At low tide it opens up to a vast expanse of sand with amazing rock formations and caves. The property has private gardens and far reaching views over the valley to the Atlantic Ocean.
Lanthorn house sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms. It has 2 separate sitting rooms - one on ground floor and one on first floor, kitchen/breakfast room and separate dinning room, study area, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with showers - one on ground floor. Guests can use all rooms in the house and all equipment. There are 2 TVs - one in the master bedroom (Freeview) and one in the upstairs sitting room (Sky TV) and a DVD player. The house has high speed internet access, darts/table football and an outside shower. There is ample parking for 4 cars. In the garden there is a table and bench which seats 10, a patio table with 4 chairs, a love seat with cushion and a bench with sea views. The top terrace of the garden is steep so is separated by a gate and should only be accessed by children under adult supervision.
Porthcothan has a pub with amazing beach views which is 5 minutes walk from the house and a beach shop (open Easter to October) where you can hire surf boards and buy all your essentials including fabulous ice-creams . Padstow is 4 miles away and Newquay 6 miles so a host of facilities from fine dinning to days out are within a short drive. Porthcothan Bay is the last of Padstow's "7 bays for 7 days" so there are 6 more dog friendly (all year round) beaches to explore all within a 10 minute drive.
  • Great house, with everything you need plus more. Even on rainy days there is something to entertain the family. DVD, jigsaws, books, table football, darts. It kept 15year - 78year olds happy. Plenty of bathrooms, powerful showers, whole house spotless clean. Location good, easy access to the beach was a wild path (not suitable for less able walkers or pushchairs). Lovely sunsets at the local pub or watergate bay. Cornish Arms provide homemade meals and good beer. Would definitely consider returning. Thank you.

    Tracy2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect stay for a good group of family or friends. The 2 lounges made it perfect to host lots of people. Plenty of seating at the dining room and farm style kitchen. We stayed for a 4 day break, took 6 hours to get there, and we felt instantly at home when we arrived. Loved the games room, and the short walk to the beach. Absolutely loved this place, and would happily return again! Thank you.

    Georgie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great house for big groups lots of areas to to relax outside of the lovely bedrooms. Would definitely recommend this place if you want to visit Padstow or the surrounding areas as it is central to lots of attractions. Would definitely come back and stay here again

    James2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Superb property, off the beaten track but a short stroll to the beach, even shorter to the pub and a simple drive into Padstow. The property adequately accommodates 10 people in 5 bedrooms but importantly provides individual spaces with one bedroom a suite, tables to sit around in the kitchen and dining room and a further two lounges. If you are looking for a base to walk the coastal paths, play in the waves, with the option of dropping into Padstow for shopping, lunch or diner, you will struggle to better spending time at Lanthorn House.

    Bruce2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect house for a large group of friends or two families in an outstanding location just a few minutes walk from the beach. Plenty of well thought out touches in the house to help make your stay a proper joy. Could not fault it in any way. Brilliant.

Situated within 200m of the beach at Harlyn Bay in an attractive courtyard setting with a private sunny patio garden. Choca is a perfect retreat offering a relaxing place to unwind only 2 minutes away from the sand. The cottage is dog friendly, and the beach allows dogs all year round too. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, and with the south facing aspect, the cottage is always very sunny. If you are interested in a short break, please do enquire directly.
The interior is lovely and bright, with a spacious open plan living area downstairs with patio doors from the living area leading out to the private patio garden. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, a twin room and a family shower room.
Harlyn Bay offers a beautiful stretch of golden sand, a superb surf school, stunning coastal walks, a local pub and seasonal shop. The village of St Merryn is just a mile away, and Padstow just 3 miles, making Harlyn an ideal spot to enjoy the peace of the coast within easy reach of the hustle and bustle of the town and everything you need.
  • Choca is a perfect hideaway for a week (or 2) by the beautiful Harlyn Bay. The house itself is deceptively spacious and so well equipped with everything you need to self cater. The house is literally a 2 minute walk to the beach, and a short drive to Padstow or other bays like Watergate. It has the added bonus of being dog friendly (as are most of the beaches in that area) so a perfect home from home with your four legged friend. Highly recommend

Small Studio Apartment, above Jo Downs Handmade Glass in Padstow. Centrally located in the heart of Padstow. Kitchenette for basic cooking only. This is a one room bedsit with a shower room /toilet. The majority of guests have found this convenient but a small number of very tall guests have found the toilet difficult to use easily.
Located above the Jo Downs Handmade Glass gallery at the corner of Middle Street and Church Street.
Padstow has established itself over the past few decades as a go to location for holiday makers visiting Cornwall. With award winning restaurants and Rick Stein's Bistro it is very popular food lovers. A lovely fishing village harbour makes it a popular picture postcard destination.
  • the flat is small but has all we needed for our stay and the location is fabulous

  • A fantastic studio apartment right in the heart of Padstow and 2 minutes walk from the harbour. Excellent facilities and warm and cosy with easy access. Really recommend for a stay in Padstow. Spa shop at end of road and cafes and restaurants near for breakfast lunch and tea. I had a wonderful stay.

  • A lovely small studio in the centre of Padstow. Looks exactly like it does in the pictures. Fresh and clean. Comfy bed. This was the second time we stayed here.

    Tracey2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is in the perfect location, right by all of the shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Check in was an absolute breeze, safe lock for the keys so you don't need to worry if you arrive late about bothering anyone. There is a pub right outside the flat (bear this in mind for the evenings, can get a little loud ) There is a shortcut up some stairs to the right as you leave the apartment to a car park which is only £3 for 24 hours, this was perfect for our stay. The place was clean and tidy, the only downside is the toilet space, it's a little snug. But other than that, we would definitely consider staying here again

Figgy Barn is a newly renovated 18C barn, situated on a quiet farm lane 3 miles from famous fishing town of Padstow and the 7 surrounding bays all within a short drive. Visit Treyarnon, Constantine, Trevone, and closest Porthcothan bay... Dine in some of the counties finest eateries, such as Rick Stiens seafood, st petrocs bistro and Paul Ainsworths No6. (Booking in advance strongly advised). The accomodation boasts a stylish bathroom, kitchen/bedroom/living space. Perfect for couples!
Stylish and Contempary but with cottage charms. Clean, comfortable, airy and with all necessary mod cons. Country views. Long dog walks. Tractors, cattle, sheep passing by your door. Walks to the finest beaches in cornwall
Penrose is a beautiful rural peaceful Hamlet, surrounded by long walks along public footpaths. It is mainly inhabited by local families, and has very little of the "tourist" vibe that so many Cornish villages now have. A farmer sells his eggs on a stand outside his barn, livestock stroll freely through feilds, a stream trickles down through the valley towards Porthcothan bay, and secret a smugglers cave lies hidden beneath the undergrowth waiting to be discovered...
  • This is all that’s great about airbnb getting to stay in a location like this. I loved it.

    John2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy Cornish slate barn with everything we needed as a couple for a great stay. Brilliant location for local beaches and access to Padstow and Newquay.

  • Fantastic location for visiting Padstow, calm and quiet in the countryside but within 15mins you can be in the heart of Padstow. The barn is lovely, clean, well equipped and Rose is a fantastic host. I’d highly recommend. Anna

    Anna2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Super little bijou place. Rose is an amazing hostess, nothing is too much trouble. The location is so quiet with great dog walks and better still so many outstanding golden beaches nearby. A real treat.

    Karen2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Figgy Barn was the perfect escape for us. We have a 1 year old so we were close enough to local beaches and attractions but remote enough to be away from any noise. The barn has a bath, cot and high chair making life and travelling much easier! It was cosy, clean and stylish and Rose was such a lovely, kind and helpful host with lots of communication and clear guidance upfront and very attentive during our stay. I would definitely recommend the cottage for a young family like ours.

    Leanne2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to stay! Cosy, clean, quiet and felt like home as soon as we arrived. Rose is an amazing host and even left us fresh milk in the fridge for when we arrived. Great communication and lovely little touches in the barn like candle in the bathroom and brochures for things to do in the area. Definitely recommend a stay here. Thank you:)

    Pamela2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Figgy barn is a cosy studio barn that has everything a couple could need for comfortable stay. The space is super clean and stylish and in a great rural location for exploring the North Cornish coast. Rose was a great host and made us and our two borders feel very welcome. I would highly recommend Figgy Barn.

Allocated private parking is onsite, secure locker for surfboards and outdoor showers. Enjoy surf, kayaking, kite surf, cliff & beach walks, snorkelling & unforgettable sunsets. There are a fantastic choice of beaches, restaurants & shops in the area including the pub Wax, The Beach Hut & Watchful Mary.
  • We had a wonderful stay. The apartment is delightful - clean and fresh and well kitted out - and the views are spectacular. We love Watergate Bay and the ‘Swim and Dine’ deal at the hotel was amazing value. The pool, gym, sauna and hot tub were a lovely respite from the high winds and the included 3 course meal was really special. ‘Cornish Fresh’ in Mawgan Porth was also a great find for all our food and alcohol needs. Great walks and amazing scenery in every direction. We loved our stay. Thank you.

In association with Trinity House, Rural Retreats is pleased to present Brook Cottage at Trevose Head Lighthouse. Brook Cottage is one of four holiday cottages available at the lighthouse which is located on a headland between the sandy beaches of Harlyn and Constantine Bays, four miles west of Padstow. The Lighthouse was built in 1847, electrified in 1973 and automated in 1995. The site is not open to the public and the four cottages are sheltered beneath a headland and are 75' above the sea, accessed via a one-mile-long private road. There are fine views out to sea and the chance to watch fishing boats coming in and out of Padstow. The cottages are semi-detached, with the lighthouse positioned in the middle. At the front, there is a communal tarmac forecourt with parking. To the rear, on the sea side, there is a shared walled grass area which is fenced at the cliff edge. (In the interest of safety, it is recommended that guests do not use this space). The South West Coast Path runs around the headland and on towards Padstow. This holiday cottage at a glance Sleeps four guests. Two bedrooms and one shower room. Large communal, grassed area to the side of Brook Cottage. Parking for one car. Additional public parking available 100 yards away Sorry, charging of an electric car is not permitted. One well behaved dog is welcome (small additional charge). Minimum of a two night stay. Additional features Microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. TV and DVD player. Payphone. Two travel cots and highchairs are available on request (shared between the four cottages). Garden furniture. Also on this site is Verity Cottage, sleeping four guests, Pelorus Cottage, sleeping four guests and Nimbus Cottage, sleeping four guests. Attractions and nearby amenities The picturesque fishing village of Padstow and its harbour. Enjoy a delicious meal at Rick Stein's seafood restaurant, bistro and cafe or arrange to have dinner cooked in the comfort of your cottage by Georgina Campbell. Harlyn Bay, on the road to Padstow in the lee of Trevose Head, offers surfing and a sheltered family beach with a wide crescent of yellow sand and rock pools and safe swimming (a lifeguard is on duty in the summer months). The Eden Project is a 30-minute drive away.
  • Great setting, would recommend. Amazing views! Property did include hairdryer and Carbon monoxide detector - not on Airbnb listing but there. Well resourced kitchen. Comprehensive hamper on arrival, welcome phone call with housekeeper and fresh flowers. Beautifully clean (sofas a little worn). When we had a power cut this was followed up by Rural Retreats. Note that Airbnb list the main bed as a super-king size and it’s not (one of the reasons we chose this property)

    Jen2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The lighthouse was stupendous, just like being on a boat in the middle of the ocean. It was very quiet through out our stay. The “welcome hamper” was great and got us through the first day. Caroline was very helpful and fun to talk with. The cottage was very clean. The only negative was the padlock we were suppose to use every time we went in or out. Wouldn’t work. Very annoying.

  • Without a doubt the best air bnb service we’ve ever had. Rob & Deb are the standard by which all Airbnb’s should be set. Can’t recommend them enough. The apartment was, lovely, spotless and perfectly stocked. They even left a bottle of Bubbles for my wife’s birthday. Easy walking distance from Padstow port. Perfect if, like us, you’re off to Rick Steins. So happy...

  • A very comfortable, calm and spacious apartment in close proximity to Padstow centre. Very clean, very helpful hosts, very good wifi. We would have no hesitation in returning.

    John2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, excellent location, helpful tips on local places. Rob & Debbie were really quick with their communication before & during our stay.

    John2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment, very clean with some really lovely extras. Great hosts - would recommend!!

    Bekki2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is in a great location for a visit to Padstow and takes just a few minutes to walk down to the centre. It is spotlessly clean and we arrived to flowers and a bottle of Prosecco for my birthday which was really thoughtful. Parking was not a problem at all and there is a Tesco across the road which you can get bits from if needed. Rob and Debbie have left lots of information on things to do in the local area which is good if you’re looking for inspiration! The apartment was good value for money and was ideal for our long weekend break.

    Emma2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little place to stay. So much to do in the area. The apartment had everything we needed. It was cosy, warm and comfortable. Debbie and Rob are excellent hosts. They responded extremely promptly to messages and gave us some recommendations on places to eat and pubs to relax in. We appreciated the extra touches including a bottle of prosecco and fresh flowers. Everything was very clean and well looked after. Thank you Rob and Debbie.

Our cabin is totally self contained, located in the village of St Merryn within easy walking distance of bars, restaurant and shops. There are at least 7 beaches within a few miles where you can enjoy surfing, walks and a bit of the good life! The cabin is ideal for families or couples, there’s a double bedroom and a bunk room, open plan kitchen/lounge area. Eating is either on the bar stools in the kitchen area or “alfresco” on those balmy summer evening...chiminea for those chilly nights!
We have lovingly prepared the cabin to ensure that it has everything that you could need... if it’s not there, just ask! As parents, we know that you don’t want to lug around toddler gear. We can provide a cot, booster seat, potty, changing mat and steriliser.....meaning all you have to pack is the kids!
For those of you who haven’t already fallen in love with this area, St Merryn is nicknamed “7 bays for 7 days” There are so many coves and beaches to explore that you certainly won’t be short of adventure. Within an easy level walk there are is a bakery, a few shops, a number of eateries and take always; fish and chip, Thai and Chinese. There is also “Rafferty’s Restaurant,” “The Olive Tree”as well as “The Farmers arms” pub and the “Dog House” wine bar. Also within walking distance is Rick steins “Cornish arms” where you can enjoy a bowl of moules or a pint of your favourite Cornish ale! Trevose golf course is just a couple of miles away, and of course the lovely harbour town of Padstow is just 3 miles in the other direction, pop over on the ferry to Rock after enjoying a lunch at any of Rick Steins other restaurants. The area is wonderful for walkers, we are around a mile to the coastal path, where you can explore more of what Cornwall has to offer. You can also take part in a wide range of water based activities, coasteering, stand up paddle boarding, and kayaking. The area is mostly known for its fantastic surfing beaches. There are a number of surf school where you can sign up for some family fun!

  • Loved our stay! Was a perfect little break, not too far from new quay centre, only a short drive. House was a great size, clean and homely! Hot tub was well kept and clean too. Would definitely recommend and would love to return. Thank you!

    Amy2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • A welcoming house perfect for our extended family group that ranged in age from 6 to 80! The outside deck is a perfect sun trap even in late October and everyone loved the hot tub with the disco lights. Wood burners, cooking on the Aga and the easy walk down to Watergate bay all made this a great autumn half term break. Justin was in regular communication checking everything was ok and even helped organise surf lessons for the little ones. Just love this area and this is a great house to experience it in!

  • We all had a lovely stay at Watersend House and very grateful we were able to bring our fur babies who also had a lovely holiday! Would definitely recommend and stay again when we’re next in the area.

  • Sand Dune's in a lovely little apartment, very roomy for two people. We stayed for five nights whilst visiting friends over the New Year period. Clare our host added a few lovely touches in the apartment; tea, coffee, cookies, milk, sugar, prosecco and a small christmas tree. It was a good social media/phone detox as we couldn't get phone single or Wifi while in the apartment or Mawgan Porth area. We didn't mind but I can understand if you have children/teenagers it might be a problem, but most bars and restaurants do have Wifi. Sand Dune is very clean, nicely decorated with every amenity that you can think of. The kitchen is fully equipped.

    Sue2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay, thank you so much. Such a cozy, airy and welcoming apartment that was perfect was local walks and heading into Newquay. I will back for sure!

  • Highly recommend, it was our first time using airbnb and I feel as though we couldn't have found a better place for the value of money. We loved our little flat it was definitely a big sun trap during the day, we were able to open the big doors for some fresh air. The bed was comfortable, there was milk in the fridge on arrival. Everything was clearly explained on how to get there. Any questions we had Clare was happy to answer. We definitely hope to return next year.

    Lucy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place - really well located just above Mawgan Porth with easy access to the coast path. Very comfortable, with many useful amenities such as the wetsuit drying room. Good in any weather - dry when it's raining, and good garden when the sun is shining :)

    Frederick2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for money. Had everything we needed for a short stay. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to travel to all the sights of Cornwall. None were further than an hour away. Travellers rest pub which is 2 mins walk, has excellent food and great atmosphere. Make sure you book though! This would be the perfect place to stay if you have a dog.

Enjoying a superb riverside position down on the tidal creek at Little Petherick, Kingfishers is a charming, dog friendly cottage with lovely views and a tranquil surrounding. The cottage has a private decked terrace which is perfect for unwinding and observing the abundance of wildlife. There is a parking space next to the property. Peaceful and tranquil, Kingfishers is the ideal get away yet within just 2 miles of the busy harbour town of Padstow with its fabulous choice of restaurants.
Kingfishers is set in a quiet and idyllic position down in the valley of Little Petherick, accessed down a private lane next to the riverside. There is a lovely walk to Padstow along the Saints Way beside the Camel Estuary, a great trip on a dry day. On the ground floor there is an open plan living room with a door out onto the terrace, a twin bedroom (2 x 2'6" single beds) and a shower room. A spiral staircase leads to the first floor where there is the master bedroom and bathroom. The master room has a balcony where you can enjoy a lovely view out over the water.
Little Petherick is a peaceful hamlet situated within easy reach of Padstow, just two miles distant. Set in a pretty valley, Little Petherick gives its name to the tidal creek of the River Camel, where you can enjoy an abundance of wildlife, or a walk along the Saints Way into Padstow. Nestled in the bottom of the valley there is a pretty church and ‘The Old Mill’, a lovely spot for a bite to eat. With Padstow just a five-minute drive away, you have everything you need on your doorstep, without the hustle and bustle.
  • This place really is a little gem. Beautiful setting especially if you love birds. It’s amazing to wake up and sit on the decking and watch all the wildlife. The house is perfect for two couples or a family with older children (as the one bedroom is downstairs and one up, with own bathroom). It’s a great base for exploring the whole of Cornwall. We did the whole coastline. Make sure you visit Kynance cove, but get there before 10 or you won’t park. We ate at the pickwick inn nearby and the food was delicious. The views from the restaurant are amazing, but you need to book. We visited Constantine bay which is really close by and is well worth the visit. Amazing walks and beach. Padstow is lovely too, but very busy this time of year. We would not hesitate to come back and stay here again. Excellent value and we loved every minute.

  • Fantastic location for our family half term break. Looking forward to returning soon!

    Moray2018-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at Kingfishers, for tranquility and nature it would be hard to beat. The location is amazing. The cottage is lovely, excellent beds, living room and kitchen/diner are comfortable and have all you need. No phone signal at the cottage (not that I missed being connected at all) but there is wifi. At the end of the lane there is a lovely restaurant inside The Mill B and B, food was great. There is also a bus stop at the bottom of the lane for service to Wadebridge or Padstow. The Saints way footpath to Padstow passes right past the door and is about 2.5 miles to Padstow through some lovely countryside. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Padstow is famed for it's range of dining experiences for any time of the day. There are plenty of breakfast options in the town, our favourite being the Chough bakery that is open early, a take away croissant and a coffee whilst sitting by the harbour, you cant beat it! To avoid disappointment we recommend booking a restaurant for your evening meal. We highly recommend ‘The Seafood’ ‘St Petroc’s’ ‘No.6’ ‘Rojano’s’ and ‘Prawn on the lawn’.
  • We really enjoyed the stay at Gary. We were warmly welcomed, the room is tastefully decorated to a high standard. The room is full of quaint little touches and has everything you need; tea, coffee, cereal, milk, iron, DAB radio and even a little dram of sherry! Lots of nice little touches and the room was sparkling clean! Our room overlooked the established gardens full of lovey flowers and shrubs. The front of the property has a delightful decking area with seating which overlooks the sea. We enjoyed our breakfast here and even took some drinks before we went out. Parking on site too, can’t beat this quaint b&b for location or hospitality.

  • Just back from another visit to this wonderful apartment. It’s clean, well equipped and centrally located for Padstow. We took the ferry to rock as we booked The Mariners for Sunday lunch which was exceptional and then took the bus to Harlyn then walked back to Padstow along the SW coastal path on another day. For price, location and amenities would highly recommend.

  • The Nook is a little home-from-home in rural Cornwall. It has everything a person could need, in a cosy space. The bed is comfy and the shower is hot. You can walk to Porthcothan beach in about 40 mins through the lanes and the pub there does an excellent G&T and nice meals. Check in was so easy and Lucie was a great host, leaving a map and local suggestions too. I’ll definitely return.

    Helen2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Nook and were delighted by all the thoughtful touches provided in such an idyllic location. We appreciated the local advice, and the Nook itself was so cosy and comfortable to come back to after a day's exploring. We'd recommend staying with Lucie to anyone looking for a perfect stay in Cornwall.

Burwelle Cottage is a freshly renovated period cottage with a small beautifully landscaped garden and uninterrupted views across fields to the ocean. The property sits on the edge of the village of St Merryn, with a bakery, News Agents, Garage, shop, pubs, wine bar, restaurants and take away all within walking distance. Just over a mile away lie the stunning beaches of Treyarnon, Constantine, Booby's Bay and around the headland of Trevose Head, Mother Ivy's and Harlyn.
Our Cottage is one of the oldest in the area and has been a much loved home for many years. We have recently rejuvenated it, trying wherever possible to keep original features, we have also added an en suite bedroom with a Juliet balcony to make the most of the sea views and stunning sunsets. The cottage has a fully equipped open plan, light, airy kitchen/dining room space, including a double oven, microwave, dishwasher an fridge-freezer. The patio glass doors open out on to the beautiful garden. The cottage garden has been landscaped to make the most of the space. It includes a large table and benches that overlook the uninterrupted views to the sea and Trevose head, perfect for relaxing with a glass of something after a long day at the beach, a secluded day bed and a small under cover space. There is an outdoor tap to wash off the sand (and dogs) and an outside toilet. The sitting room is separated from the kitchen with bespoke glass doors which allow the light to flow through but keep the noise down and heat in in the winter, it includes a log burner, comfy sofa, chair, smart TV and stereo. We accept up to 2 small dogs but ask that they are kept downstairs, there is a door at the bottom of the stairs to accommodate this. There is a small bedroom downstairs with a double bed and 2 larger rooms upstairs, one with a double bed, built in shelving and wardrobe and a charming, south facing window seat perfect for reading and one with a king size bed, a small en suite and double glass doors opening onto a Juliet balcony. Both bathrooms have baths and showers. Next to the second bathroom upstairs there is a small laundry room with washing machine and dryer. The master bedroom includes a separate office space and this whole area can be locked. There is safe off road parking.
St Merryn is a small village with a big community, it boasts all essentials (listed above). Just outside the village (a virtually flat , safe 10 minute walk) you will find Rick Steins pub, The Cornish Arms, just across the road from the ancient St Merryn Church which can date its history back as far as 1259. The entire area is renown as being a culinary paradise, with the port of Padstow only 10 minutes away. Padstow boasts many world class restaurants, Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant, Paul Ainsworth's Number 6, Prawn on the Lawn etc and the surrounding area includes many more. Trevose Golf and Country club is a short drive away, here you will find tennis courts and a sheltered outdoor heated swimming pool open to non members for a small fee, also a bar and restaurant with some of the most stunning views on the North Cornwall Coast. Seven glorious sandy beaches are within a couple of miles of the property and there are 2 very well equipped surf shops nearby hiring every thing from wetsuits to stand up paddle boards. A comprehensive guide of all of the best local amenities is left in the property for your perusal.
  • A lovely cottage to stay in. Great location near numerous beaches and some lovely restaurants within walking distance. The cottage is quirky with a lovely back garden with distant sea view. The beds are comfy and the cottage well appointed. There is parking for one car; (we had two) but parking in the road right outside was no problem. The beaches nearby are great. Nicky is a great host. Thank you.

  • We had a very enjoyable stay in Nicky's home. It was very well equipped and very homely. Exceptionally clean and a great location for all the beautiful beaches. I would have no hesitation in looking to rebook again or recommending to friends and family.

  • This is a lovely cottage in a great location. It is homely and stylish with a great view from the garden. There are several pubs, restaurants and shops you can walk to, and only a short drive to many lovely beaches - we picked a different one every day! Nicky was a great host too.

    Suzanne2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property in superb location with excellent hosts.

    Marcus2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nicky’s place was the perfect place for us to staying for our family holiday (3 kids). It was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. Welcome treats on arriving were a lovely touch. The cottage is surprisingly spacious and the garden was a lovely place to enjoy sitting in too. It had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Nicky couldn’t have been more helpful too. Shops and places to eat a few minutes walk away. Local beaches were really easy to get to and there were plenty of places to visit in the area too if needed. We’ve never been back to the same place twice for a holiday but we all agreed that we would be very happy to come back to Nicky’s place next year.

    Anna2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in the 300 year old house. We had a very warm welcome. Both the great developed house and the great stunning garden show how much love Nicky and Rob put into it. The house is of high quality and has everything you wish for and we loved to eat in the garden. Only 5 walk minutes away you have a bar, restaurant and shops. During our stay we enjoyed the beautiful beaches and enjoyed the waves. We also enjoyed walking through Padstow and cycling along the Camel trail. Many thanks ft for letting us stay with you. Definitely a recommendation!

    Ronald2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 8 nights at Nicky's place. She made us feel right at home in a space which gave a family of four plenty of places to get together, and equally to find some time for ourselves. The kitchen was well appointed with a nice seating area, and the living area has Netflix etc. The extra bathroom was a must for us, and they were both in excellent condition. Garden provided a great place to chill out and watch the sun set, and is filled with lovely plants. Having a place to park was important as it is on a busy road. A short 5 minute walk gets you to a grocers, a deli, restaurants, take-aways, surfshop (of course). We had some great food here. One of Britain's top 5 beaches is just over a mile walk away along a few pretty fields. The scenery along the coast is spectacular, and I would recommend that you explore the many bays. My personal favourite being Mother Ivey's. Within 5 miles there are a number of smaller places to visit like St Eval candle factory, Kernow Chocolate, Tarquin's Gin distillery...... Padstow, a mere 3 miles away, is a lovey place to visit, with excellent restaurants and the beautiful Prideaux Place a perfect spot for a Cornish cream tea. I am not one for returning to the same place for a holiday but I would make an exception for this part of of the UK. Thankyou Nicky.

The Nook was purpose built in 2019 to be an ideal place for a single person, couple, or small young family to stay; we also welcome well behaved animals! We are very easy to find, and a short walk from the beach ( we are upper Trevone ). Close by is a fabulous farm shop for milk, croissants and other essentials. The neighbouring town of Padstow is a couple of minutes away by car or a walk through the fields or along the coast for some world class dining options. There is parking for one car.
The property is a lovely detached dwelling adjacent to our main house with its own private courtyard for wet dogs and wetsuits which is a lovely sun trap and big enough to sit outside and have a bbq if you fancy. The double patio doors in the living area open up to extend the living space into the courtyard for a lovely open area!
Trevone is a magical place, it both dog free and a dog friendly beaches, a surf store and cafe/restaurant serving great food, a friendly local pup, two farm shops and footpaths for breathtaking walks along the coast. The small village sits between the historic and famous port of Padstow and Trevose Head, the headland is surrounded by more beautiful bays and coves to explore and enjoy.
  • Wow! Firstly the place was immaculate, stylish, homely and super comfortable, but there’s more... ... Benjie was so lovely to communicate with and keenly helpful. The place was exactly what I was hoping for, warm, chilled and just perfect for a cozy retreat in such a stormy-wintery time of year. But I will be definitely coming back in the summer, with the full tribe. I think in any time of the year the Nook will surpass your expectations and make any holiday a special one.

  • Such a great space with wonderful attention to detail. Although it is small the high ceilings and loft really make it feel spacious. Appreciated the design thoughtfulness that so many holiday rentals tend to overlook. Hosts were there to help with whatever we needed and gave us privacy. Would definitely stay again if ever in the area.

    Kyla2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great little ‘nook’ to stay in - really close to Padstow, lovely outside area (if it’s not raining) - Benjie was a great, friendly host. Will definitely stay there again when I’m back in the U.K. perhaps not during peak season with lots of tourists. Also a Lovely little touch, had some snacks and a bottle of wine waiting for us too :-)

  • Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The studio had everything we needed for myself and partner. Very stylish and functional. (Best shower) Ben and his wife were very accommodating on arrival and pointed us in the right direction for food that evening... The local beach Trevone is just under 5mins walk from studio, with a car park, full amenities and cafe/shop. Padstow is just over 1mile so easily walkable or a 5 minute drive. All in all this place was fantastic, my partner wanted to live there which says a lot. Many thanks and we will be returning soon.

  • Great little cottage, really comfortable, lovely underfloor heating in the bathroom! Gorgeous styling. And the hosts Benjie and Rose were really friendly and helpful. Very handy location with the beach at Trevone just a one minute drive, amazing waves, coastal path and great little cafe with live music. Plus very easy to get to Padstow, (plus Rock on the ferry), and lots of other beaches along the cost (make sure you get to Porthcothan).
