What a wonderful introduction to the Isle of Mull. Ian was helpful in advance of our trip - suggesting directions and dinner locations. Once on Mull, our experience only got better. The house is truly spectacular - lovely, charming, and warm. You feel as though you've travelled back into a more glamorous time. A comfortable and private room - we enjoyed feeding horses next door, hearing sheep dogs and sheep before bed, but most of all we enjoyed our host. Ian is more than willing to share local history over a bottle of wine by a warm fire. You won't want to leave - Ian's lovely home was truly the highlight of our trip to Scotland.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of staying with Callachally House The house is set back from the main road to Salen, past fields, in a grove of trees. The house itself is filled with interesting things to look at- antique furniture, artwork, books, nooks and crannies. Ian welcomed us into his home with tea and biscuits, was more than helpful and was genuinely interesting to talk to. We would definitely choose to stay at Callachally House again.

We stayed only one night in Ian's house. Sadly enough. It's a house full of charm and character. The drawing/musicroom is the ultimate room I had always imagined in my dreams. So warm and cozy, old fashioned yet very stylish. Shere perfection. Having a conversation there with Ian near the blazing fire was a very fine experience. Something we will cherish as one of the great moments of our trip around Western and Northern Scotland. With the sublime Hifi the cherry on the cake. And Ian himself a very hospitable and pleasant host. A man of the world. Also breakfast was a treat (delicious salmon!!!), taken in yet another beautiful room. Staying at Ian's is not exactly luxury in its classical meaning, I would rather call it an atmospheric plunge into a world of old world charm, good taste and warm galantery. Highly recommended. Up to 4 rooms for rent; Perfect location for the ferry to Oban also.

As we pulled up to the house after making our way down the lane, we couldn't believe our luck - the 18th century farmhouse was beautiful! Ian met us with an incredibly warm welcome and immediately made us feel completely at ease in his marvellous home. Our room had deliciously colourful Moroccan rugs on the dark wood floor and stunning views on all sides. We had a ridiculously comfy four poster bed to boot, genuinely some of the best nights' sleep we've had. Ian rose at whatever time suited us to make us any breakfast we fancied. I went for scrambled eggs, which again, were the best I've tasted. Ian gave us plenty of recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try, all of which we did and thoroughly enjoyed - trust his judgement! He also laid a fire for us after our days our exploring and invited us to watch one of his favourite films in his cosy tv room up in the waves of the house. Really, cannot have asked for more. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much Ian!

Our best Airbnb experience so far, and we have visited many lovely places around the globe. Ian is a fabulous Airbnb host and the house is a real gem. Set in lovely grounds, filled with wonderful art work and treasures that tell of lives well lived and travelled. Each evening there was a welcoming log fire to come home to after a day's walking, cycling, exploring. I loved the bathroom with its huge claw foot bathtub and views out over garden and sheep in nearby fields. Breakfasts of the best local produce, bacon, eggs, smoked salmon were expertly cooked by Ian and served in a grand wood panelled breakfast room with ancestral portraits. Ian was great company and a great conversationalist. Hosting comes naturally to Ian and he plays a very large part in making the whole experience one to remember. If you are anywhere in Argyll or have any plans to visit the southern Hebrides you simply must include a few days here. Absolutely recommend .

Our stay at Ian's place was just fabulous. He helped us to find the quite hidden house on Mull. The room as well as the very historic house are so beautiful, we absolutely enjoyed our stay. Ian also made us a great breakfast the next day, which was very good. No complaints. The only two things which could be improved are that there was no shower in the bathroom and no wifi in the room available, but therefore the living room with the open wireplace made a really good alternative. We would recommend Ians place for sure.

Debbie was very helpful and had a great knowledge of the locality. The room was cosy, comfortable and immaculate. Breakfast was very good and there were a number of interesting walks nearby.

Ian's house was an amazing example of a Scottish farmhouse. It made me feel like I had finally arrived. With the sheep for company, older and period fixtures, and the great collection of Ian's family history on the walls it was a great place to explore. Beds were comfy, the place was clean. Breakfast was excellent and varied. Mull is a beautiful island and although more remote, Ian's location is centrally located on the island. The sitting room and formal dining were a great place to meet other guests and chat.

Fantastic surroundings, roaring fire, pot of tea. We felt very welcome. The house is lovely, feels like a step back in time. Breakfasts were excellent. Ian is a perfect airbnb host.

This was really one of those airbnb moments to remember, finding this almost magical house in this secluded spot exactly where we needed it and the opportunity to stay in it with a consummate host. Though we booked it on short notice everything went smoothly, the house was spectacular to behold and Ian was very helpful and gracious and cooked a great breakfast! We consider it a privilege to have been able to stay here.

We had a great stay on Mull with Ian at Callachally house. The room was great and Ian was a brilliant host. Really helpful with all the information he provided and breakfast was top drawer. The house is beautiful, in a great setting and a really convenient location on the island itself. Would strongly recommend to others and definitely plan to return.

Ian's home is a great mix of comfort and uniqueness. interesting art all around, a sitting room you could spend hours... sitting, good chats over a glass of wine. good breakfast, would recommend as a great base for seeing Mull.

The house is very comfortable, well equipped, and has a quite superb view from the conservatory, lounge and both bedrooms.

The cottage on the Isle of Mull is amazing and the natural environment is astonishing. We spent a couple of days at the cottage during storm 'Barbara', which was not a punishment as the cottage is spacious and cosy. The open fire was already prepared to be lit when we arrived. We will certainly be back soon.

This is such a cosy little cottage! My partner and I stayed here for a week, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a warm, welcoming place, with a great kitchen and a wood burning stove in the lounge room- luckily we'd thought ahead and brought along some marshmallows to toast! The whole place is very comfortable, and we had a lovely time exploring the island, and when the weather turned (December, enough said) it was a wonderful place to stay cosy up in. We managed without a car using public transport, but life would probably be a little easier if you had access to a vehicle. Loved this place!

Lovely place....great location, such beautiful walks nearby...stunning sea views from the house, very cosey, warm and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the underfloor heating in the conservatory!

It was a pleasure to stay with Bev and Martin. They went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible, gave good advice on where to go and what to do on Mull and were kind and open people :) the room was spacious and comfortable and there's a pub/restaurant in walking distance. If you plan to visit Mull, we recommend to stay with them!

A great meeting! The b & b Bev and Martin is very comfortable. Bev is committed to provide best hospitality to its guests; she cooks small varied and delicious breakfast (haggis, pancakes ...). At Bev are like at home!

Bev & Martin are really friendly and bubbly. Both checking in and checking out was a breeze. They offers good and helpful suggestions on where to eat and play. Rooms are comfortable and breakfast are sufficient too. One night, my 76 years old mother was experiencing tummy upset and Bev save the night by providing a hot water bottle. We really can't thank her enough.

Quite good location as we travelled by Ferry, so only within 20 mins driving from the port. Bev has been very helpful and friendly, by providing directions and information for local attraction and lots of books for our reference to decide where to visit with our short duration in the island. The sunset view from the garden is excellent. The house is clean and quite.

Bev and Martins place was lovely and very central for all main Mull attractions with a local restaurant and pub in walking distance. Very friendly atmosphere and Bev used her own fresh hens and quail eggs for a lovely breakfast with gluten free pancakes for my partner.

We had a really nice stay at Debbie's house. The room is perfect for a family and was very comfortable and clean. Delicious breakfast!

Had a great few days at Debbie's on Mull! Great location near Tobermory for food and amenities but also near the tourists attraction of Mull and great for getting round the island. The B&B itself is great as it is in a quiet, peaceful and relaxing location. The room was friendly and inviting and easy to settle in. Breakfasts were fabulous with a gorgeous fresh fruit selection and homemade yogurt as well as either smoked fish or full Scottish.

We do not had much contact with Debbie, but the room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was ok. The bnb is in a good location to explore the island. The rooms are clean, wifi is provided. Thank you

Unique B&B experience on Mull. Jas/Ian is one of the most personable hosts we've met in a while. Very warm, genuine, flexible and laid-back which made for a brilliant two nights. The house is full of character, and we wish we could have stayed for longer.

We stayed three nights at Ian's Callachally House and really enjoyed it. Ian is a great host: He gave us useful hints for hiking and eating, he made us feel like home. The house is amazing, we liked to sit in the living room in front of the fireplace, chatting with Ian and the other guests. We also enjoyed his breakfast with cereals, ham, sausages or smoked salmon and eggs. We were sad to leave Callachally House and would like to come back again.

A lovely tastefully decorated house in the middle of the Mull countryside. Yash (Ian) was a great host and provided a lovely cooked to order breakfast each morning - the produce was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Yash is a charming host and likes to chat over a glass of wine in the evening too.

It is a magical place, the house is really wonderful, time is suspended there. Ian was extremely helpful and welcoming and sweet. The time to regain all the fire was relaxing and very enjoyable and it was an evening full of surprises where we met an English couple just delightful, Ian made us all really really great restaurant and we are making we were ébaillis by all the animals that were found around the house: deer, fallow deer, buzzards ... so the house was fantastic over the location is central and therefore perfect to finish the breakfast is outstanding in sublime room. Really hope to return!

I stayed 4 nights at Ian's lovely home earlier this month. Ian was a fantastic host (tea as cake on arrival!) and full of recommendations about places to go on Mull. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a relaxing stay at Callachally House!

We stayed here for 4 nights and wish it could have been longer. Lots to do on Mull and this is a great place to be based. The house is beautiful and Ian is a fantastic host. We had lovely breakfasts and he was able to recommend good places for dinner and days out. Staying in this house added greatly to our experience of Mull, I would recommend it.

Ian (Jas) was a very welcoming host whose beautiful family home is full of charming character and little details that deserve as much attention as the rest of Mull. As a host Ian was very kind to accommodate a change to our booking despite it changing his own plans - we appreciate this a great deal as it made our holiday that much better. He provided us good recommendations for food and things to see, and his breakfasts in the morning were delicious and just what we needed to start the day properly for lots of walking and touring around Mull. As a source of pride Ian pointed out he tries to source local foods (including the delicious sausages made on Mull), which we appreciated a great deal. Callachally itself is conveniently located and central to many of the major attractions on the island. It is off the main road and so is very peaceful (despite the occasional nearby sheep or highland cow making some noise in the morning, which just adds to the charm - and our kids loved them!). The bedding and towels were clean and Ian graciously allowed us to use his laundry facilities, which were excellent for such a remote location. Also of important note is that Ian provides Wifi with good speeds which is absolutely essential as mobile coverage on Mull can be extremely spotty. Our only real criticism is specific to our family - which is that we had 2 small children (aged 4 & 1) - and that staying in one room is a bit cramped on the bed. Ian provided a cot but unfortunately I misinterpreted that as being an extra bed for our older child, not a baby cot, as was the case. This isn't Ian's fault but it did mean our sleeping arrangement was tight for our family of four. I'd recommend either 2 rooms if you visit as a larger family, or getting the End Room, which has a King sized bed and more space for the family. Ian did point out he has a larger mattress on order, so this may not be an issue in the future. Overall we'd definitely recommend staying with Ian as he is very welcoming and his home is full of Isle of Mull charm.
