A cosy 3 storey, 3 bedroom townhouse with all modern facilities in the centre of Llandeilo, walking distance to Dinewr Park, Dinefwr Castle, NT's Newton House, the Towy River and its historical bridge as well all the lovely shops, cafes and pubs. I only take one booking at a time regardless of the number of rooms booked so there is no sharing.
The house is part of a former Auction House which has been converted into a courtyard of 6 terraced stone town houses, individually painted with slate roofs. Each room is well presented and all modern facilities are available.
The Welsh love to chat so call into any cafe, pub or restaurant and you will feel at home. Llandeilo is a very welcoming town to visitors. We are also a short drive to The National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn Castles, The Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the West Wales coast with its lovely beaches. From my house you can walk to Dinefwr Castle ( 1 hour round trip), and in town The Gin Haus, Cawdor Hotel, Angel Hotel and The White Horse ( local brewery) are all within a 5 minute walk.
  • A lovely, comfortable, clean and very well presented home with every amenity you could need . The breakfast provisions were a welcome extra. Parking right outside. Very conveniently located in town centre and near to several parks, gardens and castles.Great stay!

  • We had a lovely stay at Dawn's house in Llandeilo – it's clean, comfortable and cosy. We'd recommend it to anyone. Dawn sent helpful directions prior to our trip, and left nice touches on our arrival. We didn't have much opportunity to explore the town of Llandeilo itself, but it looked lovely. The National Botanic Gardens are also nearby, which was great for kids.

  • Dawn’s place was decorated so beautifully. It was comfortable and clean and the town is small and charming.

  • This house is tucked away nicely in the town of Llandeilo, within easy reach of amenities and main roads. The house is warm, clean, comfortable and full of many extra bits and pieces that make your holiday special and more enjoyable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to cook evening meals, dawn has provided a breakfast tray with cereals, jams and teas/coffees. The living room was very comfortable and if you get time there is sky TV available. The bedroom was a good size, very comfortable and I slept very well here. There is a courtyard garden and two parking spaces making this very convenient if you have a dog or muddy boots. The price and location make this place a must visit. Highly recommend and will definitely look to go back.

  • Helen's place is a little gem. I booked this for my daughters birthday to switch off and enjoy some time together. The hut has everything you need, and the log burner makes it very cosy indeed. The welshcakes, fresh eggs and BBQ pack were great. The books and games kept us entertained for hours. The hot shower was a real treat. We hope to visit Helen and her family again, not forgetting all of the friendly animals too.

    Sabina2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a place. We’ve had such a restful stay. Due to a storm we arrived later than planned so Helen lit the fire and a candle, and put hot water bottles in the bed for us. Such lovely thoughtful touches. The cabin is super cosy, has everything you need, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. The home made welsh cakes on arrival were lovely, and coupled with the amazing welcome we received made the stay awesome. I would definitely stay again. We went for dinner locally to the Angel and that was lovely. But just being able to switch off, and enjoy the tranquility was a wonderful but very rare treat. Thank you so much Helen.

  • Very neat room away from pubs and other noisy places that you might find in a town or village. The bathroom was very clean and the shower has a proper head that allows enough water to flow to get cleaned properly. Amanda was a very friendly host.

  • What a amazing place with fabulous hosts. We felt welcome from the minute we arrived and great communication beforehand. Had full access to the house and was even offered a separate room for my daughter. Great local advice and nice to chat. We had a selection of lovely breakfast options for a perfect end to our visit. Above and beyond all expectations and a prime example for the reason we use the site. A five star all over rating for an unbelievable price. Could not rate our stay highly enough. Do not pass this one down. Thank you both so much and hope to stay again soon. Rick & Ella

Wild Dragon Escapes' latest addition, Mr Imp has had her decks scrubbed, her insides refitted and has now been dry docked in her very own field on the 22 acre private nature reserve. Mr Imp has room for two passengers and is ready to take you on an adventure of a lifetime. Fitted out with 1 double bed (incl bedding), wood stove, gas hob and grill, fire pit, showers, WC and compost loo, Mr Imp has all you need for your voyage.
Mr Imp is 2 berth 25' yacht which includes a wood stove, gas hob and grill, sink, led lighting, a double bed (NB bedding NOT provided), fire pit and compost loo. WC, shower and laundry also available nearby. Dry docked in her own field within a private 22 acre nature reserve with lakes, ponds, flower meadows, huge oaks, hammock swings and a Whomping Willow, Mr Imp's guests are invited to enjoy the peace and explore locally. Surrounded by wild land, Mr Imp is situated down a long track. There is no litter, no dog mess and no traffic. There are trees to climb, dens to make, and streams to play in. There is an indoor play space with ride on toys, a large trampoline, and a basketball hoop. There is also a massive bird box in the barn, but that is for the owls! As you adventure round the land you can spot the other owl boxes and will also hear the owls almost every night. Due to some hazardous drops Mr Imp may not be suitable for very young children. The nature reserve is not a tidy place, what is mess to adults can be prime real estate for wild animals or fun stuff for kids. In our long career as parents and foster carers we have found that children (and adults) tend to be happiest when they can make dens and play in the wild. Our aim in setting up this holiday business was to create an environment that gave native wild animals and children some much needed breathing space. We aim to keep the nature reserve free of harmful chemicals and we provide eco friendly shampoos and soap for our guests. Even the water here is chlorine and fluoride free as it is from our own spring. We believe we are creating a children's wonderland and it's pretty wonderful for adults too! If all this clean living is too much you can escape to the excellent village pub which is an easy walk away! Nearby Llandeilo is a beautiful market town with great cafes, pubs and bars, antique and craft shops. Other local attractions include Newton House, Dinefwr Castle, Carreg Cennen Castle, Aberglasney House and Gardens and The National Botanic Garden of Wales. There is fabulous walking and mountain biking in the Brechfa Forest and, the beautiful beaches of The Gower, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion are just an hour away.
  • Wow, this place is awesome and the ideal retreat to chill out and relax. I booked this stay last minute after my Dublin trip was cancelled. I’m glad I chose to stay here and I really enjoyed my weekend aboard ‘Mr Imp’. The location is perfect for all nearby attractions and the Brecon Beacons is not far to drive for some serious hiking. The weather was lovely, sunny and warm for March, but chilly in the evenings but the log burner sorted that and the boat was cozy and warm. The bed is comfy and plenty big enough for me (I’m 6’5). The only thing missing on the boat is a power socket. I was doing lots of photography and videos with my phone so a power point on the boat would have been ideal. There was ample sockets in the laundry room, so it wasn’t a major problem. The nature reserve itself is lovely and waking up to birds singing and woodpeckers pecking was a joy! I absolutely loved my stay here and I would like to visit again in the summer for a longer stay. Thank you so much for a relaxing and fun weekend, just what I needed! Jesse x

  • A wonderful find. The nature reserve is magical to explore and it’s all v practical too with everything you need. Mr Imp has its own field with a hammock and swing at the bottom. And I never knew a compost loo could be so nice!

  • Expect the unexpected with this adorable place. It was truly an experience and the kids just LOVED IT! Thanks to Sheila x

  • Wild dragon escapes is the most amazing place. We have had a wonderful stay aboard Mr Imp and are looking forward to visiting again soon. We are a family of 4 and found we had enough room. The reserve is an incredible place to make memories. Our children loved the nature package and can't wait to visit our family tree soon. If you are on the fence about visiting, just do it. You won't regret it. The whole team at wild dragon are welcoming and friendly but we also felt we had the privacy to enjoy our holiday our way.

    Amy2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a great holiday and experience. We were concerned that the space might be too tight for 2 adults, and 2 fully grown children, but it wasn't. You would have less room in a tent, and this was much more fun and quirky. Such a different experience staying in a boat on a field. Location was amazing, privacy was amazing and everything we needed was to hand. Couldn't ask for anymore. And our hosts were friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and were okay. What a fantastic trip, enjoyed by us all. Thank you for providing an experience we needed, enjoyed and will remember.

    Darren2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a amazing and magical place to go and stay, the ship itself was incredible charming and the land around make me feel like a was a nature reserve.

  • Had an amazing time staying in the boat. Cliff and Sheilas place is so beautiful and tranquil it was great to relax here. Will definitely be back for more!

  • Really enjoyed our stay at Andrew and Tai's. They've put a lot of thought into the facilities and amenities to make this an exceptional and easy glamping experience, especially for those new to it - fire pit was pre-laid for us to just simply light when evening came, provided with milk and water in a coolbox that stayed cool for the duration of our visit. Was made to feel comfortable and welcome upon arrival. Great hosts, great location, great amenities, already planning a return trip.

Lan chalet sits on part of our 13 acre smallholding with it's own access off a country lane to a gravel parking area, large garden and raised decked area where you can see our two alpacas and take in the view. Lan Chalet is situated in Broad Oak just 3 miles from the picturesque town of Llandeilo where you will find an abundance of award winning pubs, unique shops, and bistro cafes. Just on the edge of Llandeilo is Dinefwr Castle and Newton House which is a great day out for all the family.
The Chalet has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, the great thing about this space is the two large bay windows where you can sit and watch our alpacas and pet sheep whilst taking in all the views. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Off the hall are three bedrooms each sleeping 2 people, two with double beds and one with two single beds. There are also two bathrooms one with a shower and one with a bath. On the side of the Chalet is a porch room with a washing machine and plenty of room for your muddy boots after your walks. Outside there are flat and sloped grassed areas leading down to the alpacas field where our very friendly pet sheep will often come up to the fence for a stroke. There is also a raised decked area with table and chairs for 6 people so you can sit outside and enjoying the view and relax whilst the kids and dogs can run around and play.
There are plenty of dog friendly beaches as you head towards the coast. Our favourite being Pembrey country park and beach which is a 40 minute drive and boasts 8 miles of golden sandy beach and 500 acres of woodland to explore, perfect for cycling. Within the country park there is a dry ski slope, toboggan ride, crazy golf, minture train rides and adventure play area. If you are looking for a more relaxed day Aberglasney Gardens is just a 7 minute drive away which is one of Wales' finest gardens. The national botanical Gardens of Wales is a 20 minute drive away and offers dog friendly days every Monday and 1 weekend a month (check their site for more info and dates). National trust dolacothi gold mines is a 30 minute drive away, great for dogs with lots of walks and kids will love it there exploring the old gold mines. Carreg Cennan Castle is a 20 minute drive and a great place to visit if you want to venture onto the Brecon Beacons. For those of you who like mountain biking or are looking for a great dog walk Brechfa Forest is a 30 minute drive and offers lots of mountain biking trails and walking routes.

  • Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay at Serenity Lodge. The weather wasn't on our side but we came well prepared. The drive and walk to the lodge was very bumpy and slippy but the host was very helpful in getting us there with our bags just make sure you bring your wellies! The lodge itself was very clean and nicely decorated. It was very cosy and had everything we needed to cook and eat. There was a small basket of goodies waiting for us including marshmallows to toast and Welsh cakes, yum! The bed was incredibly warm and comfy! The toilet is located just behind the lodge but it's nicely decorated and very clean so that didn't cause any problems. Carly was a great host and we really enjoyed our stay, especially listening to the stream at night, very relaxing! We plan on returning when the sun is shining so we can use the firepit!

    Martha2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

It has been styled with complete relaxation in mind, and is situated in a peaceful, quaint spot but just a stone’s throw from the town, described by the Sunday Times as one of the coolest places to stay in Britain! Quay Cottage has been renovated by the owners to preserve the period charm but offer all the comfort you could want from a holiday home. With exposed stone, original beams, latch doors, wooden floors and a cosy wood burner, you can’t fail to feel the authenticity. The large, white-themed, country-style kitchen/dining room are equipped with everything you will need, including a range cooker and a Smeg fridge/freezer, and leads directly to the enclosed and private decked terrace with lovely views to the side. There are three bedrooms on the first floor, one with an en-suite shower and toilet, and a magnificent, Victorian-style family bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower cubicle. Situated on a hill above the River Tywi, Llandeilo is known for its classy boutique shops, great choice of eateries and regular festivals of music and creativity. From here, the Brecon Beacons National Park is a short drive, as are the equally wonderful landscapes of Carmarthenshire and the Black Mountains. If you explore a little further, you will discover the sandy beaches of the Gower Peninsular, or the seaside resorts of Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. If you want to park the car and leave it at the property, you can walk to Newton House and Dinefwr Park, or there are lovely walks which you can do straight from the doorstep of Quay Cottage. After a day of exploring, come back to your cosy retreat for a soak in the deep bath, a glass of wine by the crackling wood burner and a restful sleep in crisp white bedding and fluffy duvets. Bring back some delicious fresh food from the local butchers or one of the delis on the high street, and sit around the big farmhouse table. Though with all the delicious food on offer in the local bars and delis in town, you might find you don’t need to cook much at all! Beach 25 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile. Free WiFi

The Coach House is a charming cosy cottage situated well off the beaten track amongst the beautiful Carmarthanshire countryside & bluebell woods. Situated on the owners' smallholding; you are welcome to wander in the fields and woodland to meet our extended family of pet sheep, alpacas & goats plus 2 friendly horses and a donkey. In the garden are assorted hens & ducks to help wake you up in the morning & help to keep you entertained! Come and enjoy picnics & stunning sunsets in complete seclusion in any of the fields. Some of our recent lovely guests shared pictures on Instagram too! https://www.instagram.com/izogadventure/
The Coach House is a peaceful cosy retreat. It has been lovingly converted from a former outbuilding and has much charm and character. Consisting of one beautiful open plan space with cosy living area with large antique wood burner (that can be opened to give the experience of an open fire), there is oil fired central heating but we would advise bringing slippers if booking in the winter months, Wi-Fi (nb. signal can be intermittent especially in bad weather!), TV (freeview over 100 channels), DVD player & CD/radio (with Bluetooth connection for playing music from any of your own devices). There is a beautiful bedroom on the mezzanine level as well as a fully equiped kitchen and bathroom. The private covered outside area is perfect for enjoying the peace of the countryside with a drink and a bbq. The dark skies at night are perfect for stargazing. There is a beautiful view from the owner's garden which you can enjoy from the bench (pictured) just below the Coach House and also from the stunning circular feature window in the bedroom. The Coach House is perfectly suited as a romantic retreat for couples but can also be enjoyed by families due to the sofa bed in the living area. A cot and high chair can be provided on request; although care should be taken with small children due to the cottage layout with 2 sets of stairs and the sitting area is not enclosed. Initial supply of logs included and additional wood can be provided for a small charge.
The Coach House is situated just a few minutes from the beautiful village of Talley with it's stunning lakes, fascinating historic Abbey and plentiful woodland walks. There are some village pubs in nearby Cwmdu and Llansawell and the historic town of Llandeilo is approx. 7 miles away. Here you will find all amenities; Co op supermarket, local butchers & bakery as well as plentiful pubs, takeaways, cafes & restaurants including the famous Gin House, The Cawdor & Chocolate Emporium. Here in Llandeilo you also have the fantastic National Trust Dinefwr; stunning parkland with historic house and castle. Talley is situated within 30 mins drive to the market towns of Llandovery, Carmarthan & Lampeter; all of which have their unique history charm as well as modern shopping facilities and cinema, swimming pools etc. Close by you will find other National Trust treats such as the famous Goldmines. The fantastic Brecha forest, Black Mountains and stunning Pembrokeshire beaches such as Pendine Sands, the Cardigan bay coastal beaches such as New Quay & Aberaron as well as the Gower are all within an hour's drive. Nearest beach is Llansteffan, only 45 mins drive.
  • Claire and Shaun’s little haven is absolutely dreamy. The views are idyllic, the space is peaceful and private and the animals are such a joy. Claire and Shaun are wonderful people with a wonderful ethos. The couch house was a lovely space, with everything you could need! Thanks for everything! 💜

  • We’ve just returned from a few days away at The Coach House and are already planning when we can return! Claire and Shaun are wonderful hosts, we felt so welcomed and it’s obvious how much they care about their guests’ experience. A perfect place for a relaxing getaway. We loved all of the animals, and especially appreciated the opportunity to feed them! They all have their own characters and it was lovely to hear the stories of where they came from, and to see how much Claire and Shaun care for all of them. The Coach House itself is cosy, super clean and a relaxing space to stay in. It has everything you’d need and more! If you’re thinking about staying here then just book it, you won’t regret it!

  • If you want cosy, secluded, relaxing, clean, beautiful, close to nature, quiet, calm, characterful, off the beaten track...the list goes on, then Shaun and Claire’s Coach House is the perfect getaway. From the gorgeous building itself, to the warming wood stove, the cute animals to the stunning views, the friendly hosts to the characterful coach house, this place was a beaut! We will be coming back in the summer!

    Chris2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Claire and Shaun's Coach House and it was just as perfect as the first time. It's such a cosy space and the rural location is so tranquil. The Coach House has everything you need for your stay and is so well looked after. We absolutely love it here and hope to return soon!

    Gemma2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t be disappointed! The Coach House is an immaculately converted home with high ceilings and comfy furniture. We loved the opportunity to feed the animals and enjoyed opening the curtains in the mornings to see the faces of inquisitive geese and ducks peeking back at us. Claire and Shaun are wonderful hosts. We were only away for a day and a half but we feel as though we have had a week’s holiday. We’ll be back 😁

    Rebecca2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Claire and Shaun are the most spectacular hosts going above and beyond to cater for their guests. Prosecco and welsh cakes on arrival is always a treat! Stunning home, with breath taking surroundings. Happy to make this our annual get away when visiting family and would recommend a million times over to anyone to stay here. Thank-you again for a wonderful experience, we look forward to seeing you again very soon x

    Jade2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for two nights and couldn't have asked for a better stay. The coach house was beautiful - spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything we would need for a comfortable stay. However the thing that really made this weekend break amazing was the atmosphere and the hosting. Shaun and Claire are the perfect hosts. From showing us around the fields and introducing us to all their beautiful, gentle animals, to providing extra board games for the children. They absolutely respected and ensured our privacy but were always on hand for a chat or if we needed anything. We felt completely relaxed, welcome and at home. We couldn't recommend the coach house more, and we are already planning our next stay with them very soon!

  • We’ve had a lovely weekends stay at Helen’s place! Everything you could need for a comfortable stay, plus more! The treats on arrival (including some for the dog), the spa like gowns and a super comfy sofa with lots of blankets were a real treat! Everything was clean and the kitchen and bathroom were of high spec. There was also a big garden for Gruff, the dog, to explore. Whilst there, we crossed the bridge to Llandeilo many times. Enjoyed the Ginhaus, the Chippery, the toast shop and a steak at Cawdor. We visited Dinefwr (part of the National trust) for a good walk. We would also really recommend driving to Wright’s Food Emporium, lunch there was excellent! Thanks Helen, we loved it!

    Catrin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A really welcoming, warm and cosy little cottage. Thoughtful touches like the welsh cakes, milk, decent coffee and wine were very welcome! Great little place to stay and we would definitely come back. Thank you Helen!

    Jamie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Helen’s place is really nice, spacious and sparkling clean. We loved little touches around the house that made it really homelike and cosy. There was a welcoming gift for us in the kitchen which was a really nice surprise. The location is very quite and peaceful, lots of cosy narrow streets with local shops and cafes. Unfortunately we didn’t have chance to explore the town but hopefully we will do that when we come back. Definitely recommend staying at this place! Thanks again Helen!

    Olga2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely 2 bedroom cottage with a fully fitted kitchen, lovely bathroom and living room with a fireplace. The main table is nicely positioned away from the living space so together with the kitchen you can eat in, in style. There is also a conservatory area - we couldn't use it as it was winter, but looking forward to coming back in the summer as there is also a long garden and probably room for a BBQ or two! The location was ideal for us as we have family in Ffairfach, but if you're looking for Llandeilo it's also great as it's only a 10 minute walk up the lovely bridge into the town. Parking here is good too, with a space right outside the property and more room on the street if needed. Helen is a wonderful host, very quick to answer messages and respond to our questions.

    Alex2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Helen’s space was bigger than anticipated. She was very kind and left a little gift on arrival which made my daughter’s day! We would definitely stay again.

  • Small and cosy space in great location, we spent the weekend walking. Friendly doggies and great extra touches, everything you need for a weekend away :D

    Jasmine2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is exactly as advertised. Comfy, cozy and incredibly peaceful. We spent a long weekend away in the loft and we found ourselves not wanting to leave! Kate adds so many extra amenities like home-made snacks, cereals, yogurt etc which really show that she cares. The weather wasn’t fantastic during our visit but we didn’t mind in the least because the loft is so warm and inviting that we found ourselves playing board games, reading and just enjoying a nice cup of tea (out of some beautiful hand-made mugs made by Kate herself!) Kate was easy to contact and always available via the airbnb app or by phone. And she offers an information booklet which helped us out tons as we wanted to find local things to do. The area is stunning with beautiful national trust properties nearby and we enjoyed some lovely hikes around the area as well. Overall, a quiet and serene escape from the everyday life and we will most definitely be coming back. Thanks so much!

  • A lovely and very special cottage in a perfect location with beautiful walks and a friendly town right on your doorstep. We will be back for sure!

  • Great central quiet location, good value, everything you need provided with easy parking. Easy check in and prompt responses. Will use again.

    Gareth2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage exceeded our expectations for value for money, location and the general cosy feel. Perfect for a couple. A few decent dog friendly pubs in the town was our bonus!

  • Private and quiet location yet only 50m or so to Rhosmaen Street (main street) and parking permit available for guests. Has all the basics inc wifi and everything else you need at a pocket friendly price.

    Gillian2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Well located and cosy living space in a small town with good local shops. Parking is on-street with permit which was never a problem for us, always a space free right outside the front door. Excursions to the Brecons, the west and south are easy.

    Daniel2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage location is excellent and the check in and parking was really easy. If you're planning a stay in Llandeilo I'd highly recommend Abbey Cottage

    Richard2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location close to the centre of town but still quiet and tucked away.

    Jacob2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is located in a beautiful town with great access to amenities and entertainment. You're right in the historic center and it was a pleasure going out for close walks to the river or up to the castle. There's a great cafe on the corner for lunches and specialty supplies and a short walk to a supermarket and a local grocer. Co-op is also only a 10 minute walk away and the train station is about 8 minutes away. While the cottage itself is small, it easily can fit a couple very comfortably for long periods. We stayed just under a month and cooked for almost all our meals which was easy with all the supplies available. The internet was consistent around 8-9 Mbps and we were able to attend video conference calls without issue. I would recommend a car or bike if you wish to access the national park hiking system but many walking trails are accessible without transit near the castle. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would recommend the cottage for anyone looking for a charming and convenient market town in Wales.

  • Beautiful place, warm and welcoming. Sonia and Tim are really friendly and showed us around the property. I highly recommend to stay in their farmhouse.

    David2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with lots of character and a gorgeous wood burner, really friendly and laid back hosts. Such a great find, would certainly come back again.

    Zoe2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A special house. Warm and homely and just up the road from gorgeous Llandeilo. We really appreciated the logs and extra time today when Storm Dennis was doing his worst.

    Elisabeth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • After a lovely scenic drive Sonia and Tim greeted the family as we arrived. After the quick introduction we were walked around the grounds surrounding the property, which was perfect for the dog, and then through the house itself. Sonia had freshly baked and acquired some local delicacies which were left in a hamper in the kitchen, safe to say they didn’t last the day. If you’re looking to sit and disconnect for a few days there is a log fire in the front room or a conservatory surrounded by the garden which you could literally sit in all day watching the world go by. Sonia and Tim were amazing hosts as they were there if you needed anything at all, but if you didn’t, then you were left to your own devices to soak up all Glanddu had to offer.

    Thomas2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sonia and Tim's place. It's a lovely old property set in beautiful gardens with surrounding grounds perfect for dog walking or for children to run freely in. It's a lovely setting with gorgeous countryside views and also only 3 miles for Llandeilo so an easy drive or taxi ride to all that this delightful market town has to offer. The house is large and plenty of space for us four ladies who were enjoying a night away together. Sonia left some welcome provisions including freshly laid eggs from Margaret the resident chicken. We particularly liked the log burner in the lounge. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Carmarthen countryside.

The guest suite is ideally situated to visit Aberglasney Gardens, the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, and the National Trust Dinefwr property and castle nearby. The cottage is next to a sheep farm and there are views towards the Black Mountains.
My cottage is 2.5 miles from the town of Llandeilo. Nestled within the Towy Valley and surrounded by castles and gardens, Llandeilo is a gem. Llandeilo has an excellent range of independently-owned shops, from antiques, galleries and boutiques, to butchers, bakers and ice-cream makers. There are several cafés and delis selling locally-produced products. It also has its own award-winning brewery, Evan- Evans. Nearby attractions include Dinefwr Castle and Newton House, both owned by the National Trust.  The beautiful Aberglasney estate is located 3 miles west from Llandeilo and is popular with gardeners and plant lovers. Carreg Cennen Castle, one of the most romantic castles in Wales, is 4 miles away in the village of Trap. There are regular train services to Llandeilo on the Heart of Wales Line which extends between Shrewsbury and Swansea.  Llandeilo hosts a number of events which are well worth visiting including Festival of the Celts (May), Llandeilo Jazz Festival (July), Llandeilo Show (Aug), Llandeilo Festival of the Senses and Dinefwr Park Christmas Fayre (November).
  • A cute little self-contained space with everything you need for a mini break. We arrived during storm Dennis so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors but can testify that it was cosy and warm with the log fire burning. Carol and Brian are super friendly and helpful, going above and beyond in making sure we arrived safely.

    Lynsey2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Booked Carol’s place for my parents in law as their Christmas present. They had a wonderful time. Great place to explore the area.

    Ella2020-01-05T00:00:00Z

  • Carol's place was a perfect, cosy winter cottage. Very clean and well organised. Lots of information in the folder for local information and more. • Carol and Brian were friendly and welcoming as soon as we arrived. They showed us around the cottage and provided us with information on how things worked. Carol had previously given me her contact number and said we could contact her any time we needed anything. The cottage itself is lovely; a quaint little space which is relatively modern in it's decor and had all the amenities we could need. It was absolutely spotless too! The cottage was ideally located so we didn't have to travel far for any of our day trips out and was very close to some local shops. Carol had also created a folder which had information regarding local places to visit and restaurant recommendations as well as emergency contact details for doctors and dentists - which my boyfriend and I thought was a very nice and thoughtful thing to do! As the house itself is a bit difficult to locate using a sat nav, Carol had contacted me with some very descriptive and helpful directions. It made getting there a lot easier and more stress free for us; so we really appreciated that. All in all we would highly recommend Carol's place to anyone who's thinking of staying in Wales. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

You’ll love our cosy family cottage with its underfloor heating and large wooded garden set in the peaceful hamlet of Cwmbyr. Ideal for a romantic break for two or take the kids (2x2'6'' beds). Recently restored Glandwr is close to the Brecon Beacons near Llandeilo with its excellent shops, restaurants and takeaways. The lively Community Village shop/pub is 1.5 miles up the lane. Relax watching the wildlife from the cottage, or one of the seating areas in the garden and listening to the stream.
Glandwr has been completely rebuilt and modernised over the last couple of years but in a way that retains the character of a mid 19th century workman's cottage. The cosy family cottage comprises a sizeable double bedroom on the ground floor together with a modern fitted kitchen and shower room. The all new upper floor has a twin bedroom with 2 x 2'6" beds and a light and spacious lounge with patio doors overlooking the extensive garden. There is a spiral staircase between the two floors. The cottage has the benefit of underfloor heating on both floors which, combined with the latest exterior wall insulation, provides a constant ambient temperature all year round. As we regularly use the cottage ourselves the beds and chairs are comfy and you are welcome to use the games, books and DVDs etc. There is a larder with all the basic condiments, jams, tea, coffee etc. which you are welcome to use so long as you leave some for us when we next visit! Glandwr cottage is set in the beautiful Welsh countryside. There are pubs and restaurants in the local towns and villages, and family-friendly activities. The Dolcauthi gold mine is nearby and the Red Kite feeding station is within easy travelling distance. You will love the independent shops at Lampeter, Llandeilo and Llandovery. All 10-25mins drive. Carmarthen, with its mix of independent shops and major retailers is just over 30 minutes drive away. The Cwmdu Community Village Shop/pub, staffed mostly by volunteers, is just a mile and a half away up the lane. You can also get an excellent meal there on a Saturday evening (booking recommended). Glandwr has been recently awarded a 4 Star Rating by Visit Wales. **** Please note that there is no landline or wifi and mobile phone reception is intermittent. For more information and pictures go to: glandwrcottage co uk
Talley and its surrounding area is very friendly and welcoming. You will find a warm reception in all the local shops and pubs. Welsh is spoken in most shops and out on the street, many people think it is 'put on' when tourists arrive. This is definitely not the case as many Welsh children in Carmarthenshire do not learn English until they start school. Many local schools teach all the lessons in Welsh and English as a 2nd language. It is a very difficult language to learn, we can only manage a few words, but all adults speak English and you will not be expected to try!
  • Our second stay at this fantastic tranquil cottage. Great all round!

  • Alison is a really thoughtful host. Her cottage is perfect, cosy and well-stocked. The garden was an unexpected joy. It was quite unexpected too, to discover what a child friendly cottage this is. My grandchildren were delighted to find the summerhouse, the swing and the fairy house. Cleverly, Alison has created a very grown up space and these delights are nicely hidden away.

    Jane2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fan bloomin tastic. The place is a gem, super clean, lovely setting and a beautiful house. What makes this place extra special is the effort that Alison and Co have me put in to make it a home from home. Can't recommend highly enough.

  • Glandwr is such a lovely cottage! We stayed over Christmas with our one year old who absolutely loved the toy box and we enjoyed browsing the books. So cosy and homely, all the little touches, including Christmas decorations greatly appreciated. We would love to come back and visit again to make more use of the garden! Peaceful and relaxing. Alison and Mark were very communicative and helpful. Everything we needed and more. Thank you.

  • This is truly a gorgeous cosy cottage to escape to! It has been renovated to a level where the cottage still has that old world feel but also has updated tasteful touches. It was nice and clean and we felt at home here. We travelled here in Autumn so the days were warm and nights were cool. We had the fireplace lit during the night which warmed the cottage up nicely. After days packed with seeing the sights my family and I would come back to this little retreat and share Welsh cake (provided by Cristina) by the fire after hot baths. Cristina also provided fresh milk, tea and coffee which was a nice touch. There are a number of books on the shelves and games as well so more then enough to keep us entertained. In the mornings we would wake to mist on the mountains, the stunning abbey ruins and sheep doing a morning meander. It was peaceful to watch it all with a morning cup of hot coffee. Cristina suggested a number of local places to eat, which were great and obviously loved by the Welsh speaking locals, it was a joy to hear them speak around us. Our only regret is we didn't do much walking around the property as there is a number of walks you can do, we are looking forward to coming back soon!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Red Kite Lodge. It is set in a beautiful, peaceful location and the cottage was really comfy and perfect for what we needed. The information you are sent by Cristina before your stay is outstanding; so many local recommendations to choose from, including local pubs, restaurants and also places to visit. One of the recommended places to visit is a local RSPB conservation area which was magical, and we had such a memorable walk along the river there on our last day. We're planning on returning as soon as we can!

Our high-end Summerhouse nestled in a rural setting, with green fields and stunning scenery, located midway between Llandeilo and Carmarthen, approx. a 30 minute drive from the sea. It’s easy to kick back and relax.
The building is sunny, warm, light and airy. The garden has views stretching for miles where you can sit and enjoy incredible sunsets behind the rolling Welsh hills. The summerhouse is open plan with a double sofa bed, TV and heating. There is an electric shower and heated towel rail in the bathroom. The garden has a bistro patio set and a veranda for undercover outside dining. The summerhouse is self catering, and the kitchen is fully equipped, with a fridge, kettle, toaster and a new hob and oven. Some basics are provided, like salt, pepper, some herbs and spices and cooking oil. There will be complimentary tea and coffee. There is no clothes washing facilities. Bedding and bathroom towels are provided. Guests and friends often tell us that they have not slept and relaxed so well for a long time. Maybe it's because there are very few places left in Britain where you cannot hear the hum of a busy road or the sound of vehicles every few minutes. Here at the cosy Summerhouse, the village lanes are extremely quiet and you are completely surrounded by nature. All around you are hills and mountains. Except for the neighbouring farm buildings, you could easily believe that you are tens of miles from civilisation; yet 3 miles away is the small town of Llandeilo. As we are out in the sticks, mobile service is intermittent, but most networks can get signal somewhere, even if it means a trip to the garden or short walk into the field. There is no landline, but there is internet/Wi-Fi. There is a village pub nearby in Salem. Guest access Access to the summerhouse is through our main drive and easily accessible for people with limited mobility.
The historic town of Llandeilo is a small lively place that has a variety of attractions and award winning cafes, pubs and restaurants, local shops and art galleries.
  • A very well designed and executed space which includes all you could need for a few days out of town. Debbie’s communication was excellent, and she made sure that she answered any questions we had. Her place is lovely and clean, well thought out, and stocked with lovely breakfast provisions. It was the perfect space for myself and my friend to relax in for a couple of days, and I would certainly love to go back and try it out in the summer months.

    Laura2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • From the minute we arrived, we felt welcomed and comfortable with our surroundings. The host’s were lovely, we was provided with essentials such as bread, milk, jam, butter, biscuits etc which we was very pleased with. The photos do NOT do this place justice, it was waaaay nicer then we expected!! We had such a refreshing and wonderful night away, we had a wine and cheese night (with board games of course) and it was nice to get away from the busy city for a night. Would definitely come back!

Golden Grove locally known as Gelli Aur is a Country Park with 60 acres of wooded parkland surrounding Golden Grove mansion. It was once the home of the Vaughan and Cawdor families. The park features a number of nature trails. With its beautiful walks and wildlife it is definitely one to visit. The deer are wonderful and you may even see a peacock wandering around the grounds. There is also a small park for children and a lovely little cafe. The National Botanic Gardens of Wales is set in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside and right on our doorstep. The garden is a fascinating blend of the modern and historic. Here you’ll find an inspiring range of themed gardens, the worlds largest single span glasshouse, the British Bird of Prey Centre, a tropical Butterfly House, play areas and a national nature reserve, all set in a Regency landscape which provides the stage for a packed programme of events and courses throughout the year. • We stayed for almost a week at the Cow Shed. We're there with the two of us + a baby and there was plenty of space! A large living room for us to relax and play with the baby. From the Cow shed you are within an hour drive from a lot of nice things to visit! We saw the Brecon Beacons, went to St. Davids, the South Coast of Prembrokeshire, Cardiff, and all the beautifull things just around the corner like the pretty town of Llandeilo with Dinefwr, Carreg Cennen and the Aberglasny gardens. Lots to do! And Alice was a wonderful host, quick to react to al my questions and very willing to help us. Would definitely recommend it!

  • The Cow Shed exceeded our expectations - beautiful space, thoughtfully decorated with everything you could possibly need. The water pressure was excellent for hot showers, the twin beds super comfy, great quality linens and spotlessly clean throughout. Alice had left some lovely treats for our breakfast that were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The sofabed wasn’t comfy, so would recommend only for those that sleep well anywhere, but otherwise our stay was wonderful from start to finish. Loved the beautiful views out the window and fabulous walks to be had. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality!

Garden Cottage is a secluded and idyllic holiday location, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside; it is the perfect place to get away from the hustle-and-bustle of modern day life, a place to relax and enjoy the peace and serenity of the beautiful Welsh countryside. The cottage and its walled garden is seeped with history, being built in 1854, the grounds used to produce fruit, vegetables & cut flowers for the Cawdor Estate.
Garden Cottage sleeps 6 people and the three bedrooms (1 Kingsize, 1 Twins/Kingsize & 1 double) all have garden views. So from the moment you wake up there’s no forgetting you’re in the middle of beautiful, peaceful countryside. The 3 bedroom renovated Victorian cottage offers a blend of traditional character and modern amenities. The entrance to the property is through a wooden stable door into a very practical and generous utility room, leading straight into the country kitchen/ dining area. The kitchen at Garden Cottage has oodles of charm, with a traditional Inglenook fireplace housing a Rayburn, Belfast sink, gas hob and electric double oven range cooker as well as original quarry tile flooring and a dining table for sociable lunches and dinners. • Hello Kate! Our stay was truly outstanding! The flat is adorable! We LOVED the rooms. The penny floor and stained glass in the bathroom are such a creative touch, along with the other design aspects of the flat. The fresh flowers, gin tasters and baked treats were such a nice touch. Sparkling clean, fully stocked with amenities for all of our needs. Unrelated to the apartment, we really enjoyed dinner and drinks on Saturday night at the ginhaus deli. Please tell your team thanks for taking such good care of us. All in all, it was an absolutely perfect weekend. Thank you so much!

  • A fantastic stay, the apartment is modern and thoughtfully decorated with quirky touches with local influences. To be able to nip downstairs to the Delhi and.....a gin or three was an added bonus. The hosts were always on hand to help when needed. I recommend this home from home 100%

  • Wonderful house and perfect for a short break in Llandeilo

    Laura2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay at the Ginhaus apartment over Christmas. The space is so much bigger than you might expect, plenty of seating, well equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches like scrummy bread and coffee from the Ginhaus deli downstairs. The beds and bed linen are superb and the whole place is decorated in a laid back but smart cool style. Position is perfect for everything lovely Llandeilo has to offer. We'll be back (if Kate will have us!)

    Helen2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place is brilliant! We're a family of four (two adults, a five year old and a three year old) and the house was perfect for us. It's really well decorated and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Kate was very helpful before our arrival (super-quick responses to emails) and we knew she was on hand if we needed any help during our stay. Llandeilo is a lovely town, and the house is in an excellent location. Overall: Thoroughly recommended!

    Alistair2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Really stylish and cosy accommodation in a small town that has lots to offer. Great base for exploring castles, beaches and forest walks. The bed is huge and the pillows the most comfy we’ve slept on. There’s good Wi-Fi, a smart TV with Netflix, iPlayer, prime, now tv etc. An excellent coffee machine with a local blend provided. And of course there’s all the great food and booze downstairs. No parking directly outside but we were able to park just around the corner for the 4 days we stayed. Highly recommended,

Gelli Glamping is a perfect fit for those who love the outdoors! Explore our ancient castles and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Tywi Valley from your base within the Brecon Beacons National Park. Our safari tent is the latest in luxury glamping, with one king size bedroom, a king size cabin bed “cwtsh” and two single beds on the mezzanine floor. A fascinating history, breathtaking views, good food and a warm Welsh “croeso”!
Our grand safari tent is both spacious and luxurious, and boasts the most incredible views of the Tywi Valley.
Llandeilo is a bustling little town that boasts all manner of shops, galleries, cafés, restaurants and bars.
  • A lovely stay, we had an amazing time. The views were breath taking, the safari tent is outstanding and is just what’s needed for a nice break, especially the hot tub. Carys & Rhodris responded to our message straight away and was pleasant and approachable making us feel at ease and at home. We would love to visit again in the future. The gift basket it was a really nice touch.

  • Myself and a couple of girlfriends just got back from a lovely and relaxed stay at Gelli Glamping. The tent is by far the best glamping experience ever, everything you need and very warm and cosy with the burner on. The tent is a private place with wonderful views of the town below and beyond, though, we seemed exceptionally lucky with the weather. Our first night in the hot tub the sky was so clear we could see the Milky Way and loads of shooting stars, just magical! We will definitely be back!

    Alia2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Safari Tent went beyond our expectations. Rhodri even came out in the pouring down rain on the night of our arrival to welcome us! The little gift basket was really special and the children loved toasting the marshmallows. The weather can not be planned and we had torrential rain and howling wind. However, we remained warm and cosy with the wood fire, electric heaters and hot water bottles. It really is a special place and we would highly recommend. We hope to visit again when the weather may be a bit warmer.

    Liza2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The safari tent been great, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Great host seams to thought of everything. Peaceful secluded location but not too far from Llandeilo either. Great for exploring on foot, on bike or in a car.

    Joanna2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the most special holidays that I have ever taken. The safari tent was spacious and the location peaceful with magical views. The welcome basket from Carys and Rhodri was thoughtful and completely unexpected and we enjoyed toasting marshmallows over the fire! We were anxious that we might get cold, however the fire quickly warms the place up and there was thick duvets on all of the beds so you remained toasty overnight. I would however recommend slippers for the morning whilst the tent heats up! The tent has everything you could ever need and more, and we loved sitting out each evening with a blanket and a glass of wine enjoying the views and sunsets. I cannot recommend this place enough and plan to book again soon!

  • Well what to say about this little gem! We arrived on the friday to stunning views of the country side and the the near by beautiful little Welsh towns which the safari tent over looks, completely blown away from the off. Rhodri helped me more than a few times with things I was abit out of my depth with I.e fires and what not, safe to say we will definitely be returning here! This is not just accommodation this is a true taste and experience of a fantastic little part of the world. Thank you Rhodri, Carys and family

    Ross Anthony2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The safari tent and location were perfect and much better than we even expected. An amazing experience in an alternative accommodation. The view from outside the tent was beautiful and tent itself was well equipped for a lovely stay. Due to us expecting such bad weather we took extra care to pack things we thought we might need for our stay, but we needn’t have bothered as Carys and Rhodri had already thought of every little detail. A wonderful weekend, we are already looking at when we can return and would highly recommend.

For the garden lovers, the Botanical Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney and Dinefwr are a few miles away. There are views of Dinefwr Castle, whilst the ruins of the world famous fortresses of Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn Castles are a short drive away. The Towy Valley cycle route is nearby Grove Hill is conveniently situated for wedding guests
Grove Hill is in 14 acres surrounded by woods, a small lake and fields. It has private courtyard parking. The bedroom has a double bed and adjoining toilet and shower room. Breakfast is served in the family kitchen /diner and in the warmer months, guests may sit in comfort in the garden. We would be grateful for your approximate arrival time as the dogs are sometimes roaming and we can make sure they are safely out of the way.
Space, peace and quiet.. unless the dogs bark. An opportunity to see nature at its best. Red kites fly overhead, ducks, moorhens and sometimes Canada geese swim on the small lake. There are squirrels pinching food from the bird feeders and ponies in the field. The town of Llandeilo is a 5 minute drive, Carmarthen is 15 miles away and the beaches of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire are about an hour's drive away. The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are also not to far away.
  • We had a warm welcome (tea and a warm woodstove), Vivienne was very helpful with directions and local knowledge. The room was comfortable and a convenient, quiet location.

  • Grove Hill provided us two with a perfect stay for our weekend getaway. Full of character and charm, this very clean and tidy, well-eqiupped en-suite accommodation is within easy access by car to many nearby local attractions such as the Dinefwr Castle and Aberglasney Gardens. Our lovely host could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grove Hill and would highly recommend it to couples or single travellers looking for accommodation in the area.

  • The entrance to the drive up to this pretty old farm house is a little tricky to spot on the road but the hosts instructions were very accurate and useful. We had a very friendly welcome and had tea and biscuits with the host in a charming period kitchen and had the run of the kitchen for breakfast the two mornings we were there. We were left well alone most of the time but had a chance to get some local knowledge from the host on the first night. Our room and bathroom although ‘cosy’ were well appointed and very clean.
