Come and bask in the sunshine and fresh air of Taos, and take in the beautiful light and richness of northern New Mexico. Enjoy the artistry of the intimate studio, and close proximity to the Plaza, the heart of Taos. Hope to see you soon!!!
Our private adobe studio has a full bathroom, stocked full kitchen and beautiful architectural features. It is cozy, quaint and comfortable for two people with lovely views! It has a very satisfying full-size IKEA bed with plenty of linens, towels, and a down comforter. Parking is provided on-site, near the casita. Valverde is a quiet neighborhood street, with open-space Sunset Park bordering the western side of the property. It is within walking distance to the Historic Taos Plaza, the world-renown Honuman Temple, and has easy access to shopping, galleries and restaurants. Taos Ski Valley is a 21-mile drive away, or take the Taos Chile Line Shuttle for $1 each way which picks up about 1/2 mile from the Studio. Other nearby attractions include the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, Twirl Toy Store and Playplace, the Kit Carson Home and Museum, Taos Pueblo, the KTAOS Solar Center, the Harwood Museum of Art, the Millicent Rogers Museum, and thousands of acres of National Forrest and hiking/cross country skiing trails. Cid's Market, a natural food grocery store, is also a walkable distance or a short drive away. We love animals, and allow pets on a case-by-case basis, with a required $15.00 cleaning fee for pet guests. We ask that you respect our space and property and clean up after your pet and dispose of any dog waste in the dumpster provided outside. This is also a non-smoking environment. Please do not smoke inside, or near any open doors or windows. Thank you! We also offer an early check-in, or later check-out for a $10.00 per hour fee. (3 hour max in most cases).
This is a great, quiet neighborhood, with a classic Taos feel. It is safe to walk around and close to many of the unique sights Taos has to offer!

Sway in an indoor hammock in a wide open, light-filled space. This period adobe was originally the dance studio of renowned flamenco artist, Maria Benitez. Today it's been reimagined as a semi-rustic, romantic getaway in a private park-like setting.
Built in the 1950's as a dance studio, this large (860 square foot) open plan stand studio house still has it's original oak flooring and rough hewn vigas (beams). It has a rustic southwestern feel without the cliche: a mix of antique, mid-century and contemporary features. There are large new windows and skylights which provide an abundance of natural light and a lovely view of the large trees your own private 1/4 acre property. Casita Benitez feels romantic, whimsical, cozy, bohemian, and a retreat like getaway as well as a fabulous place to unwind. It is also an excellent home base for exploring Taos and surrounding areas. The kingsize bed is dressed with premium organic bedding and very comfortable. The living area has a cozy sofa, chairs and hammock for the ultimate relaxing. The kitchen area has a full size refrigerator, gas oven/stove, all the necessary dish-ware, cook-ware, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, and microwave. The dining table seats 4. The bathroom has a brand new clawfoot tub with shower. There is a large covered porch with views of the big silver poplar trees as well as a enclosed porch with bistro. There is high speed WIFI, Cable TV, and Netflix. For those that need to work there is also is a desk and chair. Although the Casita is large and spacious there are no walls so if you are planning on having more then two guests just be aware there is not much privacy for 3. The sofa is not a pull out but comfortable enough to sleep 1 under 6ft tall. I also can provide a single fold out mattress so please indicate in advance if you plan on having a 3rd guest and I will set aside the proper provisions.
Casita Benitez is in the Canon neighborhood, a mile from Taos city limits, in the foothills of Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The area is filled with Spanish and Native history. Great hiking trails at El Nogal in the Carson National Forest are nearby.
  • If you’re on the fence about booking, don’t be. Just do it. It’s beautiful. Every detail has been considered. Quiet, private, and one of the loveliest places we’ve stayed. The bed is heaven, you won’t want to crawl out, and the hammock is the best touch.

    Eric And Susan2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at Justin’s place! The space was styled beautifully, it had a lovely ambience and aroma, and the sheets were extra soft. He even gave us a well thought out list of things to do in the area.

  • Incredibly lovely place to stay :) Beautiful decor, thoughtful details, seamless check in & out, and convenient location from which to explore Taos. I LOVED my stay and can't wait to come back!

    Catherine2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Had to take a picture of the sheets to order some myself because that bed was so comfy. Major fan of the hammock!! The entire place was so creative and artistic looking!

    Maxwell2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle. The Casita was beautifully decorated and cozy. Justin made us feel so welcome and cared for. The bed is very comfortable with amazingly soft sheets and cozy bedding. We loved sipping wine on the front patio and swinging in the hammock while listening to the birds in the trees. We enjoyed a lovely and meaningful tea ceremony with Jade, and all the recommended hikes and restaurants were great. We especially loved the Love Apple and Chokola. We were not able to go to the Pueblo because it was closed for religious ceremonies until April, but overall we had a memorable and restful stay and would love to come back.

The first official Earthship ever built back in 1979 is now refurbished for use as a nighty rental. It is called the “Hobbit House”. It is described as follows… * Eco-friendly house with all modern comforts and amenities. * Studio size with kitchen/living/dining and greenhouse with shower and toilet. * Wood burning fireplace and gas back up heater - very cozy * Sets on five acres of apple orchard two miles east of Taos Plaza
The Hobbit House is the one of the first Earthship ever built back in 1979 and is now being refurbished for use as a nightly rental. It has a studio size with kitchen/living/dining and greenhouse with shower and toilet. There is a wood burning fireplace and gas back up heater to keep it very cozy as this was an early design we had not yet figured out how to heat the house with the sun alone as demonstrated in our newer models. We provide kitchen cookware, place settings, coffee pot with coffee and tea, salt and pepper and olive oil. The beds are made and we offer towels, shampoo, soap, and lotion. Daily maid service is not available, but additional linens are available for stays of one week or more upon request.
The Earthship is conveniently located close to the center of Taos. The house sits on five acres of apple orchard and is two miles east of Taos Plaza which is full of shops and restaurants.
  • An AMAZING space! Truly magical if you’ve next stayed in an earth ship before. I highly recommend staying! Check in was a breeze! Everything you need to cook along with some additional seasonings. I especially loved the greenhouse bathroom!

  • The Hobbit House Earthship is an amazing, cozy, whimsical place. It was easy to find, wonderfully furnished and stocked, clean, and warm (we were there in February). Michael and Christine were good hosts, and helped us work out accommodations when unforeseen circumstances arose. I would recommend staying here, and hope to do so again myself.

    Brandon2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A truly amazing place and the pictures do not do it justice. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend to anyone! One of my favorite stays ever.

Sitting out in the courtyard with our dog was relaxing, and the interior of the house was super cute. Meet Sandy. Raised on the open plains of Oklahoma, she is a Midwestern girl through and through. Due to her large stature, growing up she didn’t get to travel much and, like most Midwest beauts, she dreamed of California. Palm Springs to be exact. Laughing it up with the likes of Marilyn, Frank and Dean, sloshing down Mai Tais and working on her copper tan. Like all starlets-to-be, one day she reached her end, proclaimed “I’m a big girl with long lines and its time the world gets to love me!”, left the ranch and hit the road. With a happy heart and big dreams she crossed the country and took in all the sights, sounds and smells it had to offer. But, while crossing New Mexico, she fell in love. Enchanted, she made camp, and here the Spirit of Taos spoke to her. She knew she was entrapped. Life is about choices and sometimes it throws you an unexpected curve you never saw coming. • I loved the peaceful ambiance, sands was amazing with much space. Loved that it had all the essentials to store and cook food. And the bed was amazingly comfortable!! Easy place to find. Loved seeing the mountains in the distance. Close to nature and town. Recommend this little getaway in Taos.

  • The location of this place is outstanding. Even though its a bit outsite of Taos the views are spectacular and totally worth it, not to mention the strategic location of the brewery right next door out in the middle of nowhere. The place was charming and clean, will very likely stay here again next time I’m in Taos.

  • Great location, less than 10 minutes into the center of town. Small space but my wife and I really didn't mind it. We did have some difficulty with check in, bed was kind of hard and there was no hairdryer. Overall a good value and pictures were representative of the space.

Little Casita is located 2 blocks (0.3 mile) from the Historic Taos Plaza and Taos Historic District. A short stroll to Taos Plaza's shopping, galleries, restaurants, breweries & museums. Approximately 19 miles to Taos Ski Valley (35 min drive) or 0.9 miles to the Kachina Lodge, a stop for a free Taos Ski Valley shuttle. This clean & comfortable guesthouse includes a queen bed, internet, TV, kitchen, bathroom & parking.
parking is next to the Little Casita, it is safe and private, the property has 3 houses but is on an acre of land, and fenced all around. So parking is not a problem. I greet my guests, most of the time. I give guests space but am available in person or by phone if needed. I socialize with guests, if they request.
The neighborhood is quiet and safe, thus far.
  • Anita is just an amazing host! She is accommodating and so easy to communicate with. Her rates are reasonable, the property is well taken cared of, and the location is perfect for visitors who wants to experience the local charm of the town. She is welcoming, generous, and her laughter is contagious. I am looking forward to the opportunity to stay at her property again!

    Lucky2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Anita was so helpful and quick to respond to any and all questions or comments. She made us feel very welcomed on our honeymoon stay, and even gave us a nice glass of wine to celebrate with! Would highly recommend staying here, as the hostess is great and the location is awesome!

    Ashley2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Anita was a great hostess! The casita was so cute, very clean, and within walking distance to lots of things!

    Riley2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time in Taos, and Anita's place was ideal for the two of us. Anita's cozy casita, though rustic, was comfortable, quiet, and conveniently located within walking distance of the town plaza. The 25-mile trip to the Taos Ski Valley was an enjoyable and scenic drive. One tip for people driving to Taos from the Albuquerque or Santa Fe areas: gas up in the town of Espanola (about an hour from Taos) since all of the gas stations in Taos have a fixed price that is about 50 cents a gallon higher than the city of Espanola.

    Rob2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The little casita was a perfect place to stay. Short walk to all the shops and galleries in the middle of town, but tucked away, quiet, and private. So glad we had the chance to relax here for a couple of days. Definitely recommend it!

    Chuck2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place very close to the plaza. Taos has a lot to offer and Anita's place is a great Basecamp. Location is prime and Anita is very responsive.

    Traci2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at the Casita for our ski trip. The space is cozy and comfortable. It is in a great location close to shops and restaurants, and not too far from the ski valley.

  • This is the absolute cutest place ever! The location is amazing. You have an excellent view of them mountains, as well as every star in the sky. It was nice and cozy inside. You would have never known it was 20 degrees. The shower house....glorious! It's not that its fancy or anything, but they have really gone the extra mile making sure your shower is warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this place!

    Mallory2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and modern trailer converted into a hostel environment with 4 bunk beds. Unfortunately I was the only one in the hostel the night I was there (I would have enjoyed meeting someone else), but I really enjoyed my stay nonetheless. I loved the kitchen and dinning area, and very much enjoyed my morning coffee on the attached deck while watching the sun rise over the Taos mountains in the distance. The toilet is in the trailer but the shower is in a separate building, which wasn't a problem for me. Check-in, and general communication was a breeze. It is a bit of a drive outside of Taos, but all-round a very nice place to stay.

    Corey2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location next to Taos Mesa Brewing which has a stellar happy hour and good entertainment nightly. Cute retro trailer with a thoughtful remodel at a great price. Easy access to the Ski Valley so you can ski by day and hit the brewery by night. Classic Taos kind of place.

  • Great location! Sweet property, spacious, good layout with bedrooms in separate ends. Appreciated the authentic feel of the adobe, mixed with modern conveniences. Nice, share-able bathroom (I’m picky!) with hooks, extra towels, a bench, good lighting and plenty of storage! Kitchen was great and we cooked several meals at home and played games on the big dining table. Gas fireplace was a great touch! Easy in/out and super-responsive hosts! Will stay again!

  • We LOVED staying here. It was so spacious and comfortable! We cooked in the kitchen and did yoga in the living room and slept very well in both beds. Highly recommend! Also, the location is excellent—easily walk around all the shops and galleries. Visit the Harwood Museum right across the street. Visit Taos and stay here!

Walk to the Plaza, galleries, and the many festivals at Kit Carson park. Located in the heart of majestic Taos - a few doors down from the Mabel Dodge Lujan home on beautiful Morada Lane, this 2 bedroom 1 bath is a peaceful / fun place to stay within the historic district.
Upstairs fully furnished in the Historic District. Quiet 2 bedroom overlooking Kit Carson Park and the area. Be a part of the neighborhood - walking distance to everything. This is not rustic or roughing it, more like a modern loft This is the as close to the pulse of Taos as you can get in the town. The place comfortably fits four to six - so it's probably ideal for a couple or two couples traveling together. The back entrance to Kit Carson Park is seconds away. Watch a baseball game or hear live music from the deck weeknights in the summer, go for a morning run, or just stroll to the cemetery. WiFi and HBO.
This neighborhood is steeped with history and interesting characters. It is also very beautiful and the home is perfect for those who want to spend some time away from it all (or not there is wireless internet!) The space is also perfect for someone who wants time to think, write a dissertation or escape the pace of modern life for a while. I find minimalistic decoration is the best backdrop to focus on whatever is important at the moment. Have coffee or do yoga in the living room at sunrise or watch the sunset from the back porch with a glass of wine. All modern conveniences in a very historic area - warm and cozy in the winter, breezy and cool in the summer.

  • Juan and Patty were amazing hosts and their place is very special. It is beautiful, clean, amazing beds, a lovely kitchen where we cooked our meals, very quiet, within walking distances of the plaza. We hope one day to return.

  • This was the second time we have stayed at a property hosted by Patty and Juan. The apartment is beautiful and clean, and the amenities, such as the linens, are high quality and make this home away from home even nicer. Being able to easily walk downtown from the apartment means a lot to us. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe. Thanks Patty and Juan for providing such wonderful accommodations!

Enjoy a romantic getaway at this intown location with an inroom Jacuzzi 'Tub for Two', wood burning Kiva fireplace (mid-October through April) and high viga ceilings with skylights. The room also has a king bed, shower, wet bar including a refrigerator and microwave and AC. Sit out under the portal and enjoy a wonderful view of Taos Mountain. Private outside entrance.
  • LeAn is beyond amazing and her willingness to help you around Taos is like no other. I have been to many airbnb's, but this location is one like no other. Perfecr place for a romantic getaway or even just a place to be completely relaxed. LeAn is by far the most helpful host I have ever encountered and I definitely plan on returning ASAP.

    Tyler2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great value and everything a couple could want or need in a space! LeAn was super attentive and greeted us at check-in when we arrived complete with a tour of the place and directions on how to use the jacuzzi bathtub and the fireplace in the room. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever experienced in an AirBnB before. We would totally stay here again on future trips to Taos.

    Trisha2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The room is cozy and clean. There is no shortage of hot water. LeAn is the perfect host-- helpful and available, while still allowing for privacy.

    Jennifer2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • LeAn was a great host. Her location and amenities were exceptional. The kiva fireplace was the bomb (loved it). i highly recommend this great Casita right off the plaza. There was a lot of attention to detail.

    Janet2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • LeAn’s place is perfect! As a few others have mentioned, the pictures do not do it justice. Very thoughtful touches, a cozy & clean space, super comfortable bed, awesome host, great location- everything was superb!

    Kari2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at this adorable hideaway! We had a fire in the fire place every night and loved walking out and seeing the mountain every morning. It was so great to be so close to town without really feeling like we were. The bed was also so soft and comfy and I slept so well! Would def stay here again!

    Abby2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at LeAn's place during our visit to Taos. She went above and beyond expectations with lots of little touches to make us feel at home. Everything was was first rate in every way. Highly recommended.

Tucked away on a quiet street a block from the plaza, this charming apartment is the cozy get away you've been looking for. Truly a hidden jewel.
Best Casita is a hidden jewel only a block from Taos Plaza. It is part of a historical hacienda style adobe that once housed nuns working at a church nearby that burned down in the 60's. Newly and tastefully renovated, the interior was designed with comfort and convenience in mind, and it features high ceilings, a well appointed kitchen, oak floors, a kiva fireplace, and a cozy living area. An old apple tree and a plum tree stand in a small, grassy courtyard that feels almost Mediterranean in it's serenity. It is located on a quiet one-way street only one block west of the Taos plaza. Gas range and a large collection of cooking supplies. Nespresso machine with milk frother, French press, drip coffee maker. Toaster oven, panini press. French door refrigerator, microwave. Full size washer and dryer, heated bathroom floor, a gas heating stove and a kiva fireplace. Electric baseboard heater in bedroom, ceiling fans. Premium linens and a down comforter and pillows; a comfortable plush/firm queen mattress. Full sleeper sofa with memory foam topped mattress. High speed internet, HDTV, DirecTV, Blue Ray/DVD player, surround sound entertainment system, NetFlix streaming, Pandora/Spotify/Apple Airplay ready stereo system. Small wall safe, hair dryer. Large selection of books and games (backgammon, chess, dominoes, Scrabble, Apples to Apples, Old Maid, Memory, Anomia, Bananagrams, cards). The location of the apartment is one of it's greatest assets. From the front door, a five minute walk will reach twelve restaurants, dozens of galleries, the best coffee in town (The World Cup), Shree Yoga Studio, Smith's grocery store, the Bent Street shopping district, Ledoux Street, and of course, the Taos Plaza.
The apartment is in the historic district of Taos. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and ideally located to nearby museums, restaurants, shopping, and the Taos plaza.
  • We've stayed here twice now, and the location and price cannot be beat. It's everything you would need as a single or couple. Clean, comfortable space with well stocked kitchen, but we enjoyed eating out instead. Thanks Marcus & Melanie!

    Jen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Best Casita was an outstanding stay! The place was sparkling clean and the amenities were just perfect. Kitchen had plenty to cook full meals if wanted. The sheets, towels and bedding was super comfortable and that’s a huge thing for us! The bathroom had more than the basics. The location was perfect and walkable to many places in Taos including the plaza. Overall, it was one of our top AirBNB’s we have stayed in.

    Elise2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • For my first time using AirBnB, I was not expecting to have such a wonderful experience as I did. The bar has been set very high and I am extremely thankful that my search brought me to stay at Marcus' casita. Perfect space for two, wonderful location, amazing/safe neighborhood, and plenty of amenities and appliances to ensure we could get by in the comfort of the casita. 25-30 minute drive from Taos Ski Valley. 3-5 minute walk from Taos Plaza. If you are looking for a stylish, quaint, and cozy reservation then look no further. I can say with confidence that you will enjoy it as much as we did.

    Charles2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this property. Super location, beautiful space, great amenities, and very comfortable.

    Andy2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. Close to everything, very clean and Marcus had some great tips for places to check out. We’ll stay here again.

  • The New Mexican word for hygge is Best Casita. We’ve stayed at Best Casita twice now. Once in 2016 and just recently for the new year. Marcus and Melanie are super prompt and warm hosts. The courtyard is a beautiful preface to the lovely interior. Well heated, comfy bed and sheets, AMAZINGLY stocked kitchen supplies, and (my personal favorite) a built in kiva fireplace. It’s quite something to trade the artistic magic of the Taos shops and studios for the homecoming magic of Best Casita. We will be back again!

    Hannah&Mike2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Marcus's Casita is just so wonderful! From booking to staying everything was seemless. So clean, perfect location a 5 minutes walk to the Plaza, super cute apartment that felt like home, fully stocked kitchen, and washer/ dryer to boot! Our favorite Airbnb to date and we travel quite frequently. Last but not least is Melanie, Marcus's co-host -- she was a delight and met us at the home with wonderful tips, a very easy and friendly conversation, and made us feel taken care of. Thank you to Marcus and Melanie!! We'll be back :-)

    Emmy2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is an outstanding property with a great location--easy access to the plaza but on a very quiet street. Without a doubt the best-equipped kitchen we have ever had in a vacation rental--great stove, coffee maker and Nespresso, good cookware, a well-stocked pantry with basic spices and oils and staples. Highly recommend, especially if you plan to use the kitchen.

This Casita is within walking distance to the Historical Taos Town Plaza. Sits on its own fenced yard, plenty of privacy. Tired of the hustle, noise, traffic, this Casita is located on a quiet dead end street. It is perfect for a single or couple. Many works of art to admire. Bookshelf with local literature. And best of all, a view of the glorious Taos sunsets! Monthly rates available.
  • Perfectly sized for a couple, this casita is about 5 mins (drive) from the plaza and all the restaurants/bars in town. We were there for New Years on a ski trip, and it proved to be a great spot to rest up after a long day of skiing. Hot water pressure was A+ (a nice touch after a night out in 10 degree weather). Would definitely recommend!

  • Very great place with charm, easy access to town but the feel of being in the country.

  • Had a good stay at Petra and David’s place. Cozy casita with magical views from the back window. Great spot for a creative retreat, we had an inspiring stay in Taos.

    David2019-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is terrific! The sun pours into the kitchen/dining area. There is wifi and a television in a comfortable sitting room with lots of material on Taos. The kitchen has everything that you need if you want to cook and eat-in, but you're within a short walk of the Plaza with its many good restaurants. Being so close to town, you'd be surprised at how quiet it is on the dead-end street. It's very secure with a gate and the owners live just across the street. The bed is so comfortable that you'll want to skeep in. The price is very good for all the room and amenities that you get.

    Alicia2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Petra and David were easy to communicate with and their place was close to the city center making it easy to get around town. Their home had everything we needed and was quiet, clean and comfy. We would definitely come back.

Gorgeous mountain views and all of the comforts of home greet you in this beautiful 1954 Silver Dome travel trailer located just minutes from town and the area's outdoor and culinary attractions. Enjoy a full bedroom, bathroom (with new plumbing finally!), kitchen and living room with a mid-century aesthetic and inviting fenced yard.
Bright sunshine streams through the many windows of this rare mid century coach and provide stunning views of the mountains in nearly every direction. Sunrise, sunset and the starry nights are unencumbered by city lights, and you can enjoy the show from the coziness of the trailer or from the huge fenced yard. The trailer itself boasts many amazing original features, along with updated plumbing and electrical systems, a stove, microwave and refrigerator and a darling turquoise bathroom with a tub and shower. The bedroom features a full sized bed with a brand new mattress, lots of cozy linens, a built-in vanity, and of course those gorgeous windows to the stars. The sofa in the living rooms pulls out into another full sized bed if you need additional sleeping space. Heat is provided by two radiant heaters and the original crank windows can be opened to let in the fresh mountain air. All outlets work and wireless internet is available 24/7. Step out the door and enjoy a deck and fire pit in a large, fully fenced yard shared with my own home (a pristine 1957 Spartan Imperial Villa mobile home). This is a great place to spend a night or two in the tranquility of the mountain, under the New Mexico stars. We are all about respecting the space and our neighbors on the hill by keeping the noise down and limiting access only to those on the reservation. You'll find this makes for a wonderful evening for all! Whether you've been trailer park dreamin' and want to try the vintage trailer life on for size or are just looking for a unique, comfy home away from home in Taos, you've found it!
The trailer is located off Lower Los Colonias Road in El Prado, just 5 miles from the intersection with Highway 64. From that intersection (known by locals as the blinking light), it's just a few minutes to the Taos Mesa Brewery and the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge to the west and a few minutes to historic Arroyo Seco and the Taos Ski Valley the other direction. The Taos plaza with its abundance of art, culture and culinary delights is just 12 minutes away, and there are plenty of shopping and eating opportunities in between.
  • Amy’s was amazing!!! Perfect location and stylish interior! Can’t say enough good things about our stay- it was absolutely gorgeous. We also loved the pig & dog

    Remy2020-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's cozy cottage, was an experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life! She mixes comfort with common sense. Happiness and history, and cleanliness with reality. Social distancing, is always top priority, but she kept in constant contact, for anything that we needed. Just prior to our arrival, she has the place unlocked, and stocked with every amenity we needed. Being a disabled photographic journalist during one of this country's darkest chapters, is exhausting. We found a weary traveler's oasis, on one of the most remote and amazingly beautiful spots on earth! The view that we had from every angle, was simply breathtaking. We have a 5 month old puppy, who is learning the ropes of constant travel, so when our yard was totally enclosed, and we could let her run... she did! We were greeted by Maxine, the Potbelly matriarch, who loves apples! There is not enough space to tell you all of the incredible things that she had waiting for us, but I know where we are staying now, whenever the news of the day, or simply vacation plans take us to Taos...Amy's place! Bravo!

    Christopher2020-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a cute, unique place to stay off the grid. We never met Amy but her partner was around feeding their sweet pig (who lives under the trailer next door) and gave us some good tips about hot springs if you hike down into the canyon on the rio grande which was fairly easy. Offered some other good tips for hiking as well. The only problem we found was the hot water didn’t last very long at all for our showers. Otherwise everything was great.

    Wendy2020-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in this cute, retro, 70’s trailer! Easy check in, and great communication. It was very cozy and we specifically loved the fully equipped kitchen, coffee, scrabble board game, fire pit, and soft blankets!! Would not recommend more than 2 people stay, as the space is quite small. Shower & bathroom is also very small, but considering the age of the trailer, you wouldn’t expect otherwise! The view of the stars at night is also breathtaking!

    Adrienne2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute spot! We really enjoyed our time here and i would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get away

    Ryan2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The address is incorrect on the airbnb website. READ EMAIL before you lose cell service or try to find it in the dark, tired like me...

  • Robert was a great host. So kind and friendly and helpful

    Stephanie2020-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice host. The place wasn't quite as cute as the pictures (the photos don't show the murphy bed, TV, paintings, etc..) but it was still very comfortable, the view is amazing, and we appreciated all the thoughtful amenities that were provided.

    Sophie2020-03-16T00:00:00Z

    Alicia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly lovely and warm oasis

    Jane2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place is conveniently located close to Taos plaza and not far from Taos Ski Valley. Though it was chilly and rainy outside, the unit was warm and there were plenty of blankets. Although I didn't personally meet Robert, he called me around check-in time to make sure I understood how to get into the unit and to ask if I had any questions about getting around Taos.

    Rhea2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as advertised, great location every point of interest in Taos is less than 15 minutes away. On the final day we had limited hot water (which wasn't an issue) However Robert offered to cover a day at the local spa for us to freshen up. Overall 10/10 experience and look forward to coming back.

  • The decoration and how her whole place is set out is just beautiful. Also the town Taos is well worth visiting.

  • The Sister Casita was everything we hoped for on our vacation to Taos. Authentic decor made for the ultimate New Mexico experience and the convenient location made exploring all the shops, restaurants, scenery and Taos Ski Valley very easy. Jessica was not only a phenomenal host, she helped us through our first experience with AirBnB, quickly replied to all messages, and went above and beyond to assist us late at night. I’ve traveled the world and there are very few places like Taos, you’ll love it here.

  • We loved staying at the Casita!! We came to Taos to ski as a last minute trip. We are so delighted that we got to stay here! Check in was a breeze, Jessica was very informative. She was always quick to answer any questions I had, and even checked on us to see how we were enjoying our stay! The casita has everything we needed, I like to cook so I was very happy that she had a well stocked kitchen! The casita was clean and tidy, and also decorated very nicely! The location was great, everything was close! Plenty of great restaurants nearby ( our favorite was Orlando’s) and there was a organic healthy grocery store right across the street. We didn’t get to see any of the Taos local attractions but they were all fairly close. The drive to the ski resort was only about 25-30 min. Would highly recommend staying at Jessica’s casita! Can’t wait to stay here again next ski season! Thank you Jessica for sharing your beautiful home with us!

  • Very charming, super clean, great location, reasonable price, dog friendly, friendly host, couldn't have asked for anything more. Hope to be coming back this summer!

    Hilary2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Sister Casita is a cute, one bedroom located within a duplex. The walls are quite thin, and we could hear the other side of the duplex's conversation early in the morning. However, other than that, the space is perfect, and Jessica is extremely timely with communications. The check-in is simple, and the casita has its own private space. The location is great - near The Love Apple, and we also walked to coffee at The Spot.

    Katie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for our short stay in Taos. It was very clean, cozy, and charming! The bed was very comfortable and the hosts were just amazing with super quick response time and lots of info on things to do and places to see. The Casita is close to everything in town and only 15 miles to the ski area, which was a bonus for us. The kitchen is well equipped with pretty much everything you'd need for a short or long term stay and we loved the beautiful bathroom. We didn't want to leave, but it's time to get back to work :). We will definitely be staying here again!

There is an incredible view of Taos Mountain from front of property. Architecturally, the Artists Retreat's interior is a balance of archways with contemporary linear angles, intimate yet spacious, sleeps three, designer decorated, fully equipped kitchen, Direct TV, 50” flat screen, wifi, washer dryer, & french doors lead to private patio to celebrate the evening with a glass of wine. Walking distance to historic plaza, museums, fine dining, Bent St. Shops & Kit Carson Park for music events.
The view of Taos Mountain is vividly present from the front of the property, with cows grazing in the pastures in the foreground. A segment of a rural scene is juxtaposed within a family residential area, a short walk, about 15 minutes, (.5 miles), to the historic Taos Plaza, library, museums, Bent Street Shops, fine dining, farmers market and Kit Carson Park where many art fairs occur and music groups perform. It is about 19 miles to the Taos Ski Valley for exceptional skiing / snow boarding. Our charming duplex originated as a renovation from a typical Taos 1930’s ranch house. It accommodates three, is approximately 600 square feet and some guests have described it as “intimate yet spacious”. The modern feeling of spaciousness may be due to the ceiling angles, at the high point the ceiling is close to 10 feet and at its low point, it is close to 8 feet. Architecturally, the Artists Retreat is a balance of archways with contemporary linear angles. The walls are all hand troweled with a very light peach gypsum plaster that emits a modulated contemporary veneer adding to the tactile warm appearance. Upon entering guests pass under an arched passageway before approaching the living room. Guests wanting to prepare food will find the well equipped compact kitchen with a fridge, gas stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker & grinder, toaster oven, a variety of pots & pans, cutlery, utensils and dish ware. We provide organic coffee beans and an assortment of teas. Rather than decorating and embracing a single period or style, we have contrasted modern furnishings with vintage and contemporary wall art, creating spaces that exude charm, travel and warmth which are intended to make guests feel relaxed in a comfortable atmosphere. The brown stained concrete flooring is enhanced with a variety of area rugs. The living room couch transforms into a single pull out mattress for a second sleeping area. Facing the couch, is a large 42” HD TV with a Roku system, Netflix and Hulu availability, DVD player and wifi. The bath room has a shower and tub, with high quality towels including a hair dryer. The stacked washer / dryer including detergent is convenient for those guests who have been on the road for a while and for those who may be traveling with children. The large bedroom is designed for ease and comfort featuring two sizable closets with luggage racks, a queen size bed, Serta pillows, and high quality deluxe linens. The mid century bed board includes a reading lamp and clock. An oak dresser with end tables and crystal lamps offers ample light and storage. When the sun shines in the morning the bedroom is filled with natural light from the windows above the bed illuminating the entire room. The french doors in the bedroom welcome a sunny space that opens to a private tree lined back yard and intimate patio where guests can enjoy coffee or tea in the morning or celebrate the evening with a glass of wine. The patio is situated in a private back yard with shade trees and a sitting area for four. Come summer, shade wings cover the sitting area for additional coverage. The back yard fencing, a traditional northern New Mexico "coyote fence”, made from "latillas" ( aspen poles ) surrounds the back yard giving a sense of privacy. Natural gas heating with thermostat controls. No air conditioning but two table fans provide plenty of cross ventilation in summer. This is a smoke-free premises. There is NO SMOKING permitted in the unit or on the property. This includes e-cigarettes, "vaping" or other forms of inhalants. No candles. We cannot accomodate pets as some guests have allergic reactions to pets. If you are visiting friends or family in Taos, their pets cannot be brought to the property. We do not permit parties, gatherings or events of any kind without prior approval of the host. In essence, we offer a well-appointed home that speaks of art and a warm and welcoming environment for those that stay.
Quiet long established family residential neighborhood within walking distance to plaza, restaurants, galleries, library, Harwood Museum and historic museums and farmers market. Wonderful view of Taos Mountain from the front of the property.
  • Perfect, stylish, and comfortable place to stay while exploring Taos! Spotless, great amenities with soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee, and all the comforts of home. Super close to the plaza with wonderful shops, galleries, and restaurants. Highly recommend!

  • We enjoyed staying at Patty and Juan’s place. It was a great base for our ski trip - a quick walk to town, an easy drive to and from the ski area, as well as a quiet spot to relax after a day of skiing. Also, there is a fine view of the mountain out the front door. We highly recommend this spot.

  • Lovely and cozy space! Would stay again.

    Lauren2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The duplex was just perfect with lots of storage space, comfortable furniture, and a well-stocked kitchen. The neighbors were quiet on all sides. We couldn’t have expected a better experience!

    Catherine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Juan and Patty's, and it was just as nice as the first. Clean, full of light, quiet, plenty of space and within walking distance to all of the shops/restaurants in town. Will be back again!

    Mike2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the proximity to the town square. It was a 10-minute walk and a great way to work up our appetite before dinner downtown. It was an easy drive to the Taos Ski Valley as well.

    Joe2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Juan & Patty were excellent hosts! They responded quickly and the space had everything it said it did. They left detailed instructions for check-in/out that were easy to follow. The location is walking distance from the plaza and only a quick drive to the mountain for skiing/snowboarding. I would definitely book with them again!

Good day and thank you for checking out Casita Kahnert! This wonderful room is located atop the main house and features it's own private entrance and a porch with spectacular views of Taos Mountain. This room is perfect for a traveler on a budget and is located in an ideal location on the north side of Taos (nearest side of town to the ski valley, gorge bridge, one stop light away from Pueblo entrance, and walking distance to grocery stores).
This is a simple one bedroom apartment with a private bathroom, a small fridge, and a microwave. The views are amazing and the house is unique and inviting.
Casita Kahnert is located very near Paseo de Pueblo Norte. We are one mile from Cid's Organic Grocery Store and Taos Market. Both are excellent sources of delicious food. The Casita is also located near Elevation Coffee, Orlando's New Mexican Cafe, and the Taos Ale House. All are very tasty and talented at what they do best.
  • Awesome location! So convenient. The room is big and has a wonderful view of the mountains. It was really quiet, which I appreciated. Private parking and private entrance allowed me to come and go as I pleased and I never worried about safety. Paul was friendly and communicated well. I would definitely stay here again!

    Nancy2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A charming apartment with a view of the Jemez mountains. The woodworking and bath is spotless clean, light and airy. Location is very convenient to US 64 west and Taos Pueblo. Paul was very responsive and helpful to my last minute inquiry when my hotel turned out to be a dud. Thanks for the nice stay. Outdoor stairway may be challenging for people with physical limitations ( arthritis, etc).

Ideal location!! Newly renovated studio apartment just 15 minutes to Taos Ski Valley and 10 minutes to downtown Taos. Loads of entertainment, restaurants, and shops close by in Arroyo Seco, on the way to Taos, and in downtown Taos. Close to Angel Fire and Red River. We allow pets!
Great romantic getaway for couples! An excellent place for people wanting solitude. Also excellent for people who want a quiet setting with lots of entertainment options close by. Unit includes: Essential amenities, wifi, self check-in, laptop work space, iron, hangers, hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner, and body wash.
We are out in the country and as such, enjoy incredible mountain views. We have 3 empty acres on either side of us so the space outside feels very spacious. The adorable little town of Arroyo Seco is just 5 minutes down the road.
  • Great stay. Although the studio is close to the main house and casita, my wife and I felt like privacy was not an issue. The location is amazing for a remote getaway within driving distance of incredible outdoor activities. Great communication from host, place was clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a great stay for great value!

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. It was such a great value, for such a clean and comfortable space. The views were spectacular!

    Melissa2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were more than happy with our stay at Robin’s. We accidentally ran into her husband the first night, and he was kind enough to give us some great local places to eat. The studio was perfect and clean, and we enjoyed being able to cook our own meals as well. Perfect location between ski valley and the city of Taos!

    Taylor2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful suit centrally located for skiing at Taos ski valley (20min), food in downtown Arroyo Seco(5min) and downtown Taos(10min). The suit was clean and stylish with plenty of room. As a gesture of kindness the guys brought a taste of Palm Springs to this fun-loving lady. Southern Cali meets the mountain life – maybe you can have it all! No, she never made it to that west coast party; she simply became the party and now the world comes to her. So come alone, come with friends, but come ready for a good time and let Sandy show you the way! Until you stay the night with her though she insists on being referred to as The Sands. A girl’s gotta have her standards
  • Perfect for a few days on the slopes, and the WiFi’s good

    Ryland2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • The whole place is well kept up and very clean. There’s a brewery next by with music and food and even though I am a light sleeper I didn’t notice any noise with a live musician playing. The bed was very comfortable and check in was very easy. I would recommend for a unique experience.

  • I was a bit nervous doing a hostel for the first time, and on my own. The booking process was quick and accommodated my last minute reservation. Facilities were clean and easy to navigate. I heard from my fellow travelers that they were just as happy to stay at the compound as I was.

  • I booked the hostel and was lucky to have the place to myself. Super cute and unique hotel concept. It’s a short drive from the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge where you can do a nice hike on the west rim trail before you check in. Stunning views, great location for traveling solo or with a group.
