    Chloe2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A very clean and quiet place to stay. Perfect for our needs. My fiancé and I wanted somewhere quiet to relax for the night after spending the day in Bristol and found this the perfect place. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept very well. The bathroom was clean and the shower nice and powerful. A kettle with tea/coffee making facilities were provided, as well as a tv. Our host let us know that there were some local places we could go out and eat but as we had already eaten in Bristol we did not go out for food so unable to comment about what they are like. Overall, we had a comfortable stay and will not hesitate to book again if we are ever in the same area, cannot fault at all!

  • Bonnie's place was available at very short notice. Despite only staying for one night, I really enjoyed the space I had. The accommodation was very clean throughout and the bed very comfortable. There were a lot of local information provided, especially breakfast recommendations which (unfortunately) I didnt get to try out due to having to work the next morning. Communication from booking up until arriving was fantastic and Bonnie is a great host. I definitely recommend this place to anyone needing a short stay! Thank you for being an amazing host!

This listing is for our smaller bedroom which sleeps two people. It is a recently renovated space with new ensuite shower room. This room has its own front door and is adjacent to our historic family home, in the beautiful village of Croscombe between Wells and Shepton Mallet. This room shares our conservatory as a sitting area. Please see the layout plan in the photos.
Our home is a 15C farmhouse in the village of Croscombe. We have cats, bees, sheep, chickens, turkeys, geese and ducks and sell our produce locally. Guests are welcome to buy our seasonal produce including cider, jams, marmalade, chutneys, cordials, beeswax polish, wool and free-range eggs.
We're in a quiet English village with a beautiful church, pub and village shop. Nearby are the destination towns of Wells, Frome, Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet. The village of Croscombe is worth a visit in its own right; nestled in the Sheppey Valley it was founded in around 700AD it has a historic church with carved box pews and spectacular spire, several old mill buildings and walks with spectacular views over the village. We have a leaflet of a suggested walk around the village which takes in the majority of the notable buildings and are happy to advise those who would like to go for longer walks on good routes to take.

Who would’ve thought that a humble, disused barn could be reimagined into such an uber cool pad? The perfect hideout for two, the Bolt can be found off the beaten track in a wild and rustic countryside setting; for the most part undiscovered and yet within only four minute’s-drive from the town of Wells. Designed around its original features there’s a distinctly urban feel to the space, with split-level resin flooring and steel beams contrasting the interior’s plush retro styling. A contemporary wood burning stove and chic furnishings add to the luxury of the open plan living area, and a modern kitchen complete with a cooker, fridge, and dishwasher means guests get to enjoy their time alone in complete comfort. A large folding door makes the most of the beautiful setting and rural views, flooding the home with natural light and inviting the fresh country air inside, and the deliberately darker colour palette that adorns the walls creates a romantic, sultry mood throughout. Carefully positioned lighting brings a unique atmosphere to every area within the space, and a gorgeous master bedroom featuring a king size bed and bespoke cowry shell chandelier; fashions a sumptuous retreat that’s perfectly suited to lazy mornings and breakfasts in bed. Outdoors there’s plenty more on offer with a spacious slate patio being the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine. Grab a throw and relax on a sun-lounger with a good book, or spend hours soaking in your own private hot tub without a care in the world.

  • The Bolt is such a beautiful and well thought out property, inside and out. Our hosts were helpful, communicative and made us feel so welcome and really like it was our home away from home for the weekend. Everything was flawless, such great attention to detail - everything you could want and incredibly clean. It really made a special weekend perfect. We can't wait to go back. Thank you!

    Chloe2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful hideaway with stunning views. The lambs would come up to the wall from the neighbouring field providing a great backdrop whilst drinking coffee and planning the day ahead.

    Oliver2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, quiet and relaxing location. Decor was stylish but cosy, and it had all the amenities youd expect. The hot tub is an amazing addition. As the name suggests, it's a feels like a great hideaway. My friend and I wanted somewhere to escape our busy lives for a long weekend, and this was the perfect setting. The hosts were really friendly when we arrived and departed, but also allowed us our privacy during the stay. I would recommend and hope to go back!

If you need to use the sofa bed please note this is covered by the £15 additional person fee for the use of extra bedding and towels. An iron, ironing board and hair dryer are provided to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. The large bathroom is accessed through the bedroom. Please bear this in mind if you intend to use the sofa bed in the lounge, as any additional guests will need to go through the bedroom to use the toilet/bathroom. Complimentary shampoo and shower gel are provided. We provide a travel cot for small children free of charge but you will need to provide your own bedding. There are a few children’s toys and books in the Hideaway for your use. There is a high chair and kids cutlery and table ware in the cupboards. Please let us know if you need anything else during your stay.
We live in a lovely traditional English village with an ancient church, a village school and a cooperatively run village shop. Our friendly village pub “The Waldegrave Arms” has just reopened after undergoing renovation, it is open all day and a three minute walk down the road. It is very welcoming to families and children. We have a village ‘club’ which is open to all in the evenings and offers a bar, skittle alley and pool table. There are lovely walks from the door and other fabulous pubs close by, including The Litton and the Pony and Trap which has a Michelin star. There are great places to visit and hundreds of day trips to do. Wookey Hole, Weston Super Mare and numerous National Trust properties are all within easy driving distance. The Bath Christmas markets are lovely to explore in the run up to Christmas and Wells has many festive events in the winter months. As well as our small community village shop, we have a small Spar shop nearby in West Harptree and a newly opened Budgens just a five minute drive away in Bishop Sutton. This shop is big enough to easily supply you for a few days.
  • A perfect bolt hole I'n the Mendips. Sparking clean, comfortable and warm. Loved the little touches like fresh milk, butter, jam and pain au chocolate. Kate's husband shared top tips for local walks and checked in to make sure I was comfortable during my stay. Would highly recommend a stay at the Harptree Hideaway and look forward to returning in the future.

  • A great apartment in a beautiful location. Very clean. Easy to find, and the fire was nice to have after a cold wet day in Cheddar Gorge.

    Hannah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great, Kate is very attentive with directions and details before the stay and on arrival for anything we need. The hideaway is very clean, stylish and very warm. It was our first holiday with our 6 month old and Kate made sure there was all the bits we needed like high chair, travel cot, cutlery and even some toys, this made it much easier for our stay. We definitely recommend.

  • Lovely cottage and very attentive host. Communication was excellent, Sparkling clean rooms, small touches like wood for the burner, chocolates, bread and milk, made us feel very welcome. We could even stay longer than checkout time as no one was booked after us, which made our stay even more relaxing. Cant fault our stay at all, was perfect.

  • My partner & I enjoyed our first stay at Gert Lushing & exploring the local area so much we returned for a second time to celebrate my partners birthday & again we had a lovely, peaceful & private few days at the hut. Charlotte was fantastic, kindly arranging flowers & a card for my partners birthday to be in the hut to surprise him on our arrival & leaving us extra blankets, heater & hot water bottles to keep us extra warm at night! We were there mid December on the last weekend before they close for the winter & were impressed by how warm the 2 heaters kept the hut, we were nice & toasty throughout our stay. Charlotte was always there on the end of the phone if we needed anything but gave us lots of privacy & space to relax & enjoy our time together. Great space, great host, great time, thank you!

    Julia2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Gert Lushing is the perfect little place to get away from the hustle and bustle for a while. Communication was great and we had everything we needed for a few days stay. The Oakhill Inn served lovely food and the 10% discount was a bonus. Would definitely stay at Gert Lushing again!

  • We loved this cozy cabin! It had everything that we needed. We were worried about being cold during November however were pleasantly surprised by the 2 heaters which made it very warm and toasty. Charlotte was a great host and provided quick replies. All in all a great stay and we will definitely be coming back sometime!

  • Beautiful cabin with stunning open fields, peaceful, tranquil perfect for getting away from the rat race.

    Sarah2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, great views of the field and farm and a really cosy cabin! There was everything we could possibly need to cook and prepare food, managing to make fajitas, hot sandwiches, jacket potatoes and even bake some cookies! The cabin was amazingly clean and cosy, and the choice of two heaters to use to warm the room up were much needed when it got chilly! It felt especially comfy when laying in bed listening to the rain on the roof (there was lots of it!). Thanks again Charlotte, we hope to see you soon.

Both rooms share our conservatory as a sitting area. Please see the layout plan in the photos.
Our home is a 15C farmhouse in the village of Croscombe. We have cats, bees, sheep, chickens, geese, turkeys and ducks and sell our produce locally.

Burnby Cottage is a quirky wooden framed, tin clad cottage, sitting on the banks of a stream. Although small it feels much bigger with a fully equipped kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. It can sleep 4 people with the use of the sofa bed. It features a wood burning stove, (don't worry it also has central heating), a gorgeous mural across one wall, a verandah for sitting and watching the world go by...oh and it also has full WiFi, smart TV and sound system if this all sounds a little rustic.
Although small it has a beautifully spacious feel with the verandah making it feel even bigger. The entire back wall is covered by a mural of trees painted by a local artist. Enjoy cosy winter evenings by the wood burning stove or sunny summer ones swinging in the hammock on the verandah. For the more technologically minded the cottage has full wifi, a smart tv and bluetooth soundbar. One thing to bear in mind is there is no mobile signal in the village, so if you want to get away from the rat race then you won't be disturbed :) The cottage was built by ourselves from reclaimed timber, everything from the pine cladding to the nifty mobile charging point was built by hand. We have had a lot of fun sourcing vintage and retro items from far and wide, the bedroom curtains were found in a street market in Madrid. The woodburner was made by a little company in Caerphilly. We built the cottage in our own garden with our own hands and loved doing it, not everything is perfectly made but we have tried our very best to make Burnby Cottage a very special place to stay.
Situated in the village with walking, riding, cycling, caving, climbing, fishing all within 5 to ten minutes. Walk from the cottage through the woods to Blagdon Lake. For the more adventurous Burrington Combe in the Mendip Hills with it's caves and climbing are only ten minutes drive. Or you might like to cycle through the lanes to Sandford and explore the Strawberry Line which will take you through stunning countryside all the way into Cheddar. We are close to Bristol, Bath and the lovely cathedral city of Wells. The village is very quiet but there are numerous pubs within a 5 minute drive. If you want some excitement you may be able to persuade Charlie to take you caving in the Mendip Hills or if shopping is your thing then Helen runs a vintage and retro stall at the Cheddar car boot sale.
  • Rolo, my dog, and I enjoyed a fabulous stay with Charlie and Helen in their delightful cabin. It was just perfect and exactly what I was looking for, cosy, quiet, clean and comfortable. Close enough to get into Bristol with ease and with some amazing walks nearby. Highly recommend staying here. Thank you Charlie and Helen for being such great hosts

  • Simple bedroom and sitting room accommodation next to the hosts' house. The entry is via a keypad so there is no need to arrange to meet the hosts although their communication was prompt. • Such a great, cosy place to stay! Perfect for watching a movie and sitting by the log burner, also great surroundings and walks you can do. Everything inside was very high quality and clearly well built and cared for. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wishing to get away for some peace and quiet!

  • Excellent little gem of a hideaway! Quirky, cosy and with everything you need with great little personal touches. Highly recommend Charlie and Helen as hosts!

    Lindsay2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie and Helen are great hosts who make you instantly feel welcome , explain how everything works, then leave you to enjoy ( even though they are next door, you are given your privacy). The cabin is beautifully made and thoughtfully appointed with just the right balance of pretty arty bits and clever tech. The heating and shower are fab( vital on a freezing , wet February evening) ,the little wood burner is a sinch to light and the big TV cleverly placed on the wall makes for a perfect wind down after a day exploring the sights. We sat on the veranda and watched the sunset with a glass ( wishing it was summer !) You can easily cook meals in the kitchen area or just enjoy a welcome cuppa with the thoughtfully provided supplies. The bedroom is beautiful and comfortable, as is the sofa bed. We enjoyed the local pub in Blagdon ,the New Inn ,that does home cooked food and allows dogs. Dont forget the stream ! It sent me to sleep each night. The best place I have booked so far !! Love it.

  • Lovely, cosy room with many TV channels, a lovely, modern shower and small, considerate touches. The basic kitchen facilities and laminated card with thoughts about the area really assisted out weekend stay. Hannah is a welcoming and friendly host in a quiet, family neighbourhood. Suitable for a cosy, weekend couples stay.

  • I decided to book Hannah and Ben's place at very short notice and straight away I received messages from Hannah regarding the chalet. I received communication leading up to my arrival. Hannah was very accommodating and she met me outside to show me the place I was staying in. I received a very warm welcome from her. The chalet is very cute and has everything you need for a comfortable stay including extras like breakfast items and facilities to make hot drinks. Hannah's place was very clean and just perfect for what I needed it for. Parking is easy outside, even with some work being on the driveway, there is plenty of on-road parking. I would definitely recommend Hannah's place and if I ever need another place to stay temporarily then I wouldn't hesitate booking Hannah's chalet again. Thank you for being a great host!

The bed was comfy and the added touches of tea, coffee and breakfast items were really lovely! Excellent value for money too! Thanks Hannah and Ben, you made a short stay very pleasant indeed.

  • The Old Beauty Room was incredibly cosy, private and well placed to hop in a car or cab to Bath & beyond! One of the hosts, Ben, greeted us and showed us to our chalet where we were greeted with some complimentary breakfast snacks, teas & coffees - along with a lovely shower, hair dryer, telly etc. It’s all you need for a cosy night in Somerset! Thanks again for having us, can’t wait to stay again sometime soon!

Diamond Lodge is a tranquil home from home with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. With space for the whole family, this two-bedroom eco lodge is bright and airy during summer, and cosy and warm in the winter.
In the living area, pop your favourite playlist on the Bose Sound Dock, or enjoy a Blu-ray on the 50” wall mounted Smart TV. French doors lead outside to your spacious decked terrace where you’ll find the bubbling hot tub just waiting to soothe those weary limbs. By day, the hot tub makes the perfect spot to admire those country views, and when darkness falls, the LED mood lighting adds a touch of romance for those after-dark dips. The decked area also has a built-in barbeque and seating, so there’s plenty of opportunity to stock up on local produce in nearby Cheddar and cook al fresco style with the backdrop of some stunning sunsets. After dark the large open plan living, dining and kitchen is a perfect space for all the family to create those special holiday memories either around the dining table or having fun at the games board.

  • Lovely one night stay at Andreas. Really easy check in and out - great room with all we needed and a quick walk to village. Thank you!

  • What wonderful accommodation with such thoughtful touches ❤️ Andrea and Roger went above and beyond to ensure I had the best stay! Thank you so much! Will definitely be back ☺️ x

  • A perfect overnight stay - clean and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly too!

    Christian2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely beautiful room and ensuite in the lovely village of Chew Magna. We received the most amazing hospitality from Andrea and Roger and loved every day of our stay. The room was super clean and payed out nicely. The check in experience was easy and we could come and go as we pleased with respect to the house and family of course. I recommend booking a massage with Andrea as it’s one of the best I’ve had and I’ve had many, plus it’s just on the doorstep. There is yoga within the neighbourhood, a lovely cafe to let time escape you as well as local pubs and nature. Highly recommend this stay.

    Krysta2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a lovely stay! I was here just for one night but I’m so grateful to Andrea and Roger for their outstanding warmth and hospitality. The room is absolutely beautiful, decorated like a 5 star hotel with Andrea’s wonderful taste. When I arrived, Andrea and Roger went above and beyond to give me a vacuum and supplies to clean up my rental car. There was a small issue with the drain in the bathroom, and while Roger fixed it Andrea offered me a free aromatherapy massage, which was heavenly! The combination of their lovely energy and their beautiful home, in such a sweet and beautiful town with ancient sacred sites nearby makes this a really special place. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Please read our reviews :-) Too much to say !! A room with 2 single beds and a shared toilet/bathroom, one of 3 guest rooms in a self built Eco house, surrounded by woods, scrap, art and artists, inspiration, walks, etc. This is our home where we live with Boris the cat and lots of interesting things !! ... 10 miles from Bath and Bristol. 15 from Glastonbury, Wells, Stonehenge (45 miles).
What makes it unique ? Well, what doesn't!! First of all I would suggest reading some of our reviews. We are very proud to have over 800 reviews across our 3 listings, and you won’t find many that are unhappy :-). There are probably not many places like this (in England at least)... It's more like a West Coast USA house as seen in Lloyd Khans amazing books (look him up). This is our own self-built eco house set in 5 or 6 acres of its own land. The house itself is in a private area, but within the grounds of the property there are many other spaces including a therapy suite ( you can book separately for massage, acupuncture, hypnotherapy etc) , workshops for metal and woodwork, recording and rehearsal studio, a part time vegan cafe, a huge and eclectic collection of obscure artefacts from aeroplanes to gypsy caravans, and anything in between !! It is also home to upwards of 20 other people who are engaged in work with circus/ festivals and events management. There is an early stage forest garden , solar hot water and electric and more being added daily. There is always something new at Rockaway! If you're looking for somewhere fastidiously neat and tidy or you're scared of spiders it's probably not for you , but if you like what you see, we'd love to have you here ....,( although of course we do our best to keep it neat and tidy, I am just trying to put off over- fussy guests :-) We like to think we understand the ethos of Airbnb and the desire to change the world for the better by encouraging conversation and the sharing of ideas. We have found the whole experience to be thoroughly rewarding and we hope you will too. The room itself, although part of the main house, is a private and very relaxing place. The bathroom is less than 5 steps from you room. Feel free to mingle with ourselves and other guests in the rest of the house or enjoy a quiet and peaceful break on your own. We also have an apartment and a double room that are both available through Airbnb We very much look forward to meeting you and sharing our space. Mark and Marta
The house is set in approx 6-7 acres of land part of which used to be a scrapyard and some of which we still run as such. There are woods and great walks very close by and good bus connections for Bristol, Bath, Wells and Glastonbury. We are about half a mile from the village of Temple Cloud in a secluded, redundant stone quarry. There are mature oak trees all around the house and the site. We still run a van dismantling business from the adjacent yard and help out from time to time with artistic projects involving scrap, including photography, film and video projects. If you're looking for inspiration or looking to meet people to help further your ideas and plans , we may be able to point you in the right direction or hook you up with the right people... Our hope is that the B and B will just help to make further and far reaching connections and not just be a soulless interaction... Of course though we are just as happy for people to come and just chill.
  • Great place very relaxing

Quiet house with a single room for rent situated in a cul-de-sac with my partner and myself. ( And the animals) I like music (a lot) so please expect to hear some being played and also expect to hear the drums every now and then as I am an active musician that records at home. Lots of public transport links to the centre and close to Bottle yard studios.
  • A lovely welcome from charming people.

  • Where can i start? The experience in James and Nicky's house was wonderful! They made me feel at home from the beginning and I spent only good time with them! Their house is not far from the airport of Bristol, located in a very quiet area, very well served by buses that go directly to the city center. The room was really comfortable and with everything I needed. I also met Mister Watson and Meowgi, two of the cutest pets in the universe <3 ...and yes, James sometimes listens to music in his studio: but always and only very good music ;) Thank you guys... I will miss you a lot.

A book of local shops and attractions was left for us. The place was so cosy and clean and when we came back one evening, they had put some lovely christmas lights up outside. • An amazing place to stay, especially if you're attending a wedding at Coombe Lodge. Great local tips and amazing ammenities/breakfast options in the property

    Matt2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We attended a wedding at Coombe Lodge and it was the perfect location. Donna and Rob has lots of baby bits (Bath, high chair etc) and kindly set up a travel cot for our baby which made life so much easier when we got home late! There were 4 adults (and a baby) staying and we fitted fine! Would definitely recommend and not hesitate staying again.

    Rebecca2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The annex was warm, clean and cosy. Good breakfast options were supplied and the hosts were very accommodating. We had our two young children with us and no car. We were attending a wedding nearby and couldn’t get any taxi companies to come and collect us as the location was so remote. We should have hired a car which would have allowed us to get about and explore a little easier.

  • Don’t doubt just book it! Perfect little romantic cottage for two. Me and my boyfriend went for a long weekend and loved it! The decor is gorgeous and makes you feel at home right away. (Also 5* from cleanliness!!) There’s everything you possibly could need for a break away. Even Netflix and catch up tv even if your looking for a cosy day in watching movies. Instructions and communication are brilliant. We let our self in and out with no pressure of returning a key. It’s completely detached so you have complete space to yourself. Situated in a good area- driving distance away from must see places like cheddar gorge, Glastonbury tor, Ebbor gorge and Wells! If you’re looking for a quiet few days away to relax with a book or a movie, or even looking for an adventure around the Mendip hills this is perfect! ‘The garden room’ did not disappoint at all!

  • The room was lovely - clean, cosy and deliciously warm on a stormy night. The bed is outstandingly comfortable and the room had everything I needed for a pleasant night. Breakfast was very welcome and good value for £6, brought to my room and not too early for a Sunday.

HOME “The Den” is a purpose-built ground floor double en-suite guest room, separate and opposite our main house. It has its own entrance and a parking space is available for our guests. An ideal choice for a pre or post stay when flying in or out of Bristol International Airport. We are conveniently situated one minute’s drive from the silver zone long stay car park and two minutes from the main terminal, however we are in a peaceful country side location and not under the flight path.
“The Den” is used as guest accommodation and has just been purpose built, including 1 x King Size bed, 1 x Single bed and brand new shower room etc. We appreciate that a stay with us is normally at the start or end of your holiday, so we want to make it as pleasant as possible. There is ample room to host a Travel Cot, can be supplied if required or bring your own. Parking is included in the price for each night of your stay. If parking is required for more than one night or for more than your stay with us (eg while your away) then please contact us to discuss – we can arrange limited number of Holiday Parking stays at a small additional charge we can also arrange to shuttle you to/from the airport. Please contact us for prices. Please note: we are up a farm lane/track which is 'work in progress' and a little bumpy in places, please bear with us. Unfortunately we are unable to accept arrivals after 10pm.
We do have dogs and cats around the house, but they are never allowed in “The Den”. Due to the proximity of our home we do not cater for stag and hen parties. The accommodation is better suited to single travellers, couples or small families. “The Den” is ideal accommodation for pre or post night travels for flights at Bristol Airport or longer periods as a base to explore Bristol and Somerset
  • Definitely recommend staying here, so close to the airport and Mell even offers a parking space and drop off and pick up at the terminal for small extra charge which is a lot cheaper than parking at the airport! Very modern space with a comfy bed and powerful shower. Nice little amenities for breakfast in the morning and fresh milk provided. Great touches, great host! Will definitely stay again on our next trip away, Mell was quick to reply to queries and very friendly too. Highly recommend 11/10!!

    Harry2020-03-04T00:00:00Z

Manor Farm Barn offers extremely spacious, detached accommodation in an idyllic countryside setting - just a few miles outside Bristol city centre yet surrounded by fields overlooking the Chew Valley. Suitable for guests that want to relax in the countryside (with great walks and pubs in the surrounding areas) or as a stopover before/ after flights from Bristol Airport (5 miles away). Come and relax in this beautiful area of North Somerset - we love it and are sure you will too!
The Barn is a separate building to the main farmhouse, with its own entrance, so ensures privacy for guests, yet the owners are close by should you have any queries.
  • A lovely, calm space in a peaceful countryside location. Easy access by car to Bristol and beyond. A spacious bedroom and open plan kitchen/ living room with a decked balcony off the living room which you can sit out in and watch the sky go by.

  • Although three of two days in my stay it was rain, but since this house had everything I needed for a cooking, bathing and enjoyment with stunning view from the terrace, I was greatly satisfied without going out. Beautiful property with breathtaking views, very clean kitchen and useful bath amenities. I recommend everyone!

    Nanae2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and the barn has fantastic views which add to the relaxing feel of the property. • What a lovely place to stay. Really clean, warm, comfortable and roomy. All tastefully decorated. Fully equipped with everything we needed. Loads of places to visit in Bristol and surrounding countryside. The views are amazing and the whole atmosphere was very peaceful. Love to come back in the Summer to do some walking.

  • This is a really great Airbnb to stay in. Tons of space, quality fixtures and fittings, very comfy bed and a very well equipped kitchen. Sam gave us some great tips where to eat and was extremely welcoming. Good communication and access details. Thoroughly recommended

    Fintan2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the Manor Farm Barn. Great location, stunning scenery and close to Bristol. Hosts were away but the communication was great and instructions very clear. The apartment had everything we needed for self catering. All in all, a very nice break in a comfortable space. Would definitely recommend.

    Lize2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was very clean and as pictured. We had a good time.

    Molly2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sam was such a brilliant host, quick to help with anything we needed. Such a great stay, close to youthful Bristol City and yet completely rural at the same time. The property feels remote and peaceful surrounded by beautiful views, farms and great places to walk. The space is all on one level which was perfect for our 1 year old to crawl around safely. We love to cook and the kitchen was perfect equipped. We loved the original beams and the fluffy white towels. Thanks for everything Sam, we’ll be back. Chris, Freya & Arlo

Treat yourselves to a relaxing stay in the beautiful Chew Valley. Set in peaceful, rural countryside yet within easy reach of Bath, Bristol and Wells, The Granary at Manor Farm is a beautiful old stone barn that has been converted to provide all the comforts you need for the perfect break. Bright and spacious with high ceilings, exposed beams, splashes of colour, contemporary furniture and access to an indoor pool and extensive gardens. ***Good Homes Magazine selected The Granary as one of their top ten 'Best UK Airbnbs with Stunning Interiors'.***
The Granary at Manor Farm is on the upper half of a traditional Somerset stone barn. The accommodation comprises a bright, spacious open plan living and kitchen area plus a bedroom and bathroom. All rooms enjoy high ceilings, original oak beams and lots of light from the south facing windows. We have designed it to be private, peaceful and to take full advantage of the views across the garden and lovely Somerset countryside beyond. The Granary benefits from underfloor heating throughout and a Morso wood burning stove, so plenty of comfort for those who enjoy a quiet night in. Where possible we have retained or recycled features from the Granary’s previous incarnations to achieve an appealing blend of the old and rustic with the new and comfortable. The furniture and fabrics are all new. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher and large Liebherr fridge freezer. In the living area there's a TV, Freesat and blu-ray player. The bedroom is simply furnished with a kingsize divan bed and high quality 400tc cotton bedlinen. The bathroom has a free-standing bath with a separate, spacious dual-head rain shower and a double basin. Outside, we hope you will enjoy the extensive garden which we open one day each summer for the National Garden Scheme. There are lovely areas to sit and we can lend you a barbecue if you would like to enjoy some al fresco dining. Beyond the garden we have a couple of paddocks which are (usually) occupied by sheep, and the garden is surrounded by fields, so it is not over-looked. You will also have access to our indoor heated swimming pool and conservatory area in the lower half of the Granary building. Please let us know in advance when you would like to use the pool and we can make sure that you have exclusive access at the arranged time. We provide towels and bedlinen, soap and kitchen essentials. Our welcome basket includes milk, bread, tea, coffee and home made preserves. If the dates you are looking for aren't available don't forget we also have Manor Farm B&B listed on Airbnb. A huge, luxurious en-suite bedroom, delicious breakfast and the use of the swimming pool!
Stowey is in the heart of the Chew Valley on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Chew Valley Lake offers first class opportunities for fishing, sailing and birdwatching. Rural walks and bike rides can be accessed from the door and we are right on the edge of the Mendips with further opportunities to explore the beautiful Somerset countryside. There are many great pubs & restaurants close by including the Michelin starred Pony & Trap. Bristol, Bath and Wells are all easily reached.
  • Such a lovely place, brilliant facilities, beautiful location. Made for a very relaxing visit. Welcome basket was a lovely touch & had everything we needed.

  • Immaculately clean, wonderfully peaceful and quiet, stylishly decorated, very warm (underfloor heating throughout), super comfortable beds and delicious homemade bread and jams. We stayed for our mini moon and enjoyed it so much we didn't want to leave. Richard is lovely and very responsive. Absolutely book this place.

  • This place is wonderful, we were welcomed with freshly baked bread and homemade jams! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook ourselves dinner. The bed was super comfy and everything was very clean. the view from this place was beautiful, and when the sun sets its really something! A nice touch to this place was the underfloor heating throughout, and the log burner, we stayed in March so it was quite cold out, but the flat remained very cosy and we didn't want to leave! Would highly recommend Richards place, and would definitely come again.

    Abigail2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

The Garden Room is a delightful, spacious, self-contained, open plan, contemporary style living space in a converted green oak barn in a village location. It has two double beds, kitchenette and shower room and a small patio area. It has its own off road parking space immediately in front of the property. You can walk straight from Burrington Farm onto the undiscovered beauty of the Mendip Hills and stroll for miles, with only the wild ponies as company. Prices dependent on duration of stay.
The Garden Room is within the curtilage of Burrington Farm - a tradition Somerset longhouse that dates back to the 1600’s. Your room occupies the first floor of a converted barn and overlooks the garden on the one side and a gravelled courtyard on the other.
We are in a village with beautiful surrounding countryside. There's fantastic walking, horse riding, mountain biking and within casting distance there's Blagdon Lake famous for trout fishing.
  • Great communication, no doubt a gorgeous situation and accommodation.

    Heather2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The garden room is an excellent self contained place to stay for exploring the Mendips. Really enjoyed our short break.

  • Barry’s place is amazing. We stayed during a rainy week, and it was lovely, but I’m sure during sunny or warmer weather, it would be outstanding. There were quite a few spiders hanging around, but luckily there are no harmful spiders in England. Overall, our experience was a good one and would love to stay again sometime.

  • We stayed here over Christmas with our 9-year daughter and loved the space with its high beamed ceiling. It was very cosy, had lots of character, the beds were very comfy and there’s a great shower. Ros and Barry were perfect hosts and we enjoyed listening to owls (and the rain!) tucked up in bed.
