The Castrum

The 3-star gîte (CDT 31) is housed in an old 13th century house that overlooks the vast village square and is part of the old medieval castrum (fortified square) whose thickness of certain walls and the embrasures recall the ancient origins of the place. The village is part of the Cocagne region within the "blue gold triangle" connecting Albi, Toulouse and Carcassonne, a region steeped in history related to the culture and flourishing trade of pastel in the 14th century.

Come and discover the old Plô du Roy mill dating from 1484 that we have completely renovated. Our charming village of Villeneuve-Minervois is ideally located, at the foot of the Black Mountain and only 20 minutes from Carcassonne. During certain periods, you will have the opportunity to admire the splendid Clamoux waterfall that borders the mill. Great for recharging your batteries with family or friends. Former mill, the house (the Chayla) is located in a small paradise of greenery. A river that is crossed by a beautiful stone bridge runs through the property. The renovated, bright and warm living rooms open onto superb views of the river or the mountain. The house is large and offers spaces adapted to everyone's needs: 4 bedrooms, but also a living room and library. Come and disconnect at Chayla!
