Old Coal House: a cosy village hideaway by the sea

Spacious garden building. Not too far from the harbour. Parking was fine. Teaspoon and a bit of crockery would be a good addition bit generally we were happy with our stay

Sandy Toes + Salty Air

KatherineRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Corri’s cottage is fabulous, beautifully decorated with comfortable sofas and beds. Kitchen was kitted out with everything we needed to cook on the few evenings we didn’t eat out. Lovely garden with sofas/chairs to lounge on which we did get to enjoy despite some mixed weather. Mousehole is a perfect place to set off on some stunning costal walks which is what we spent our week doing. We also enjoyed dinner at 2 Fore Street, Mackerel Sky & the Tolcarne Inn.

Pretty cottage opposite the beach in Marazion

I had a lovely week at Jeans place with my elderly mum. It is literally across the road to a Cafe or the beach and the Hotel across the road has a great terrace which you can enjoy a drink overlooking St Michael’s mount. There is a convenience store for the majority of essentials you need, a couple of bars, some lovely art and jewellery shops, a philps pasty shop and of course a fish and chip shop. You could easily enjoy a relaxing week and not walk more than 100 yards. It is also a great base for exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall. Penzance, St Ives and Hayle are just a short drive away. The accommodation itself is perfect, beautifully arranged and decorated. Lovely comfortable beds and tasteful fixtures and fittings. Functionally it has everything you would have at home and a lovely private garden is the icing on the cake. There is no parking but I managed to book a great space with ‘JustPark’ near the church for £50 for a week. The long stay also does week passes.

Beautiful House, Huge Garden, Unrivalled Sea Views

RobRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Great little place in an unspoilt fishing village. We loved Mousehole. Pros Felt at home. Super comfy beds, great linen & soft towels. We all slept extremely well. Some beautiful lounge chairs. We loved the leather chair in the lounge. Perfect for a morning coffee and the papers! Peaceful and great views of St Michael’s Mount etc. Cons Not many. Very uncomfortable sofa. Few chipped plates Not related to the house but Mousehole. The parking was very tricky. To the point we were unable to park on 2 occasions and my partner had to park quite far out of the village and walk home in the rain very late at night. It’s something to bear in mind. We wish we just got the local bus or taxis everywhere.

We had a wonderful stay at Mousehole, what a fantastic village. Ben’s place was a perfect location with stunning views at low or high tide. We loved the decor in the house which was so fitting for the location. A special, unique part of Cornwall and certainly a highlight for us. We absolutely loved Cornwall and recommend Ben’s place, it was awesome. Many thanks Chris and Steve, New Zealand

We stayed at Saurabhs lovely place which was 15 minutes away from St Ives. It was clean and just what we needed after driving for 5 hours. Saurabh was very kind and helpful when checking in. I would stay here again!

Charming Cornish cottage

BethRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Without a doubt the best place we have stayed through Airbnb! The most perfect house in the heart of Newlyn. The views from house are perfect- quite literally opposite the harbour. The house is very beautiful. You can walk into the centre of Newlyn within 5 minutes, Penzance in 30 mins and Mousehole in around 35mins so it’s the ideal location. St Ives and local beaches are within a 20 - 30 minute drive too, so lots to see and do! Lots of places to eat that are very very local too which is handy. Highly recommend Mackrel seafood bar in Newlyn. Rosie left us lots of recommendations of places to go and eat which was really helpful too. The perfect stay, thank you!

We stayed next door 2 summers ago, so we knew this would be just as perfect. A great location, super quiet, and friendly cats! No faults whatsoever.
