Hey everyone! unfortunately, we've decided to stop renting the tipi for now. Covid here in AZ is on the rise so we think it's best. We are also looking into better ways to clean the tipi & how to do self check ins. Once we figure all this out we will re-open. Please don't forget about us! Our place is really special. Thanks for understanding & we hope to host you in the future. Sincerely, Aj & Lisa Rising
“My friend and I had a wonderful night in the tipi. We played music on the bongo drum, danced around the fire, and gazed at the amazing canopy of stars above. One note: we were there in summer heat and while it was perfectly pleasant in the evening, the tipi does get warm when the sun comes up so be prepared to get up and started on your day! We followed our night with a visit to the Chiricahua National Monument, which is totally worth a side trip.”
Our house is a well-equipped home decorated in south western style. It has been rented by visitors from many parts of the world since 2005, some of whom have returned many times. It is situated at the mouth of Cave Creek Canyon in the beautiful Chiricahua Mountains which are noted for their abundance of wildlife and walking trails. The pristine night skies is evidenced by the number of private observatories. For more details visit arizonaskyvillage.co.uk
“Had a great time staying at Neil's place - lots of thoughtful touches. Enjoyed the bird feeders and bird bath a lot we could have spent the whole day just lounging on the porch and watching the birds. Kitchen was well appointed and had everything we wanted. Also all the star gazing equipment was great unfortunately with the monsoon we had limited clear skies to do starwatching. Close to Portal and Cave Creek Canyon where we did a lot of hiking and birdwatching. Neil replied to all inquiries promptly and it was a pleasure to communicate with him. Wifi was good except one evening when it was up and down. Overall we can't wait to stay here again on any of our future trips in the area!”
This is a cozy one-room cottage with bath (shower) that comfortably sleeps two on a queen-sized bed. A small refrigerator, toaster, coffeemaker (coffee/tea pods, creamer and sugar supplied), dinnerware and microwave allow you to prepare simple meals and picnic lunches for your excursions into the canyon and national forest. The wisteria covered front porch offers a place to kick back and relax with views of the surrounding mountains.
“A true gem. A way to enjoy the remote beauty of the Chiricahua Mts and feel like you are in an even more special place. Bring your 4 wheel drive to properly explore the area Wake up in the middle of a moonless night and sit on the shared patio beneath the stars. Listen to the owls after a gorgeous sunset across the mountains. Leave room for my return.”
