“The place is nice, clean and in a great location. We also had a great chat with Ian who is very hospitable. Our visit was by the end of July 20 and the place was sparkling clean so we felt safe considering the current pandemic situation.”

“This place was a great find. As former students at York, it was great to revisit Heslington. The Annexe is close to the village and University, as well as being a short bus or bike ride into the city (also walkable). The property was sparkling clean, with obvious, thorough disinfection, and left us completely confident about it being a safe place to stay (including with a small child). The self check-in description worked a treat, and the annexe has its own entrance via the main house's garden. The owner was very quick to answer a couple of queries we had. It's a lovely, quiet location, and the annexe has its own little patio overlooking a beautiful garden. The beds - including the large sofa bed in the living room - were particularly comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped, with nice extras like Nespresso machine and capsules.”

“This is a beautiful cottage with everything you need. It’s lovely and cosy and spotlessly clean. Sara has added lovely touches such as flowers and a card to welcome us. She called us the day before to check everything was ok and if there was anything we needed. There are fantastic views across the fields which are great to look at from the bedroom window. Kitchen is well equipped and makes for easy self catering. Everything was so lovely when we arrived that we booked another night. The location is perfect for visiting Castle Howard, Pickering (steam train takes you to Whitby) and York as well lots of lovely market towns. There’s a supermarket nearby and some great pubs for eating out. We will certainly be returning so that we can explore more of the area.”
