De Oude Smederij

Enjoy and relax in the Frisian countryside? This is possible with us in De Oude Smederij, which was formerly a forge but has been completely renovated into a comfortable vacation home. The Oude Smederij is located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the village of Arum (on the Elfsteden route) and is centrally located between Harlingen (on the Wadden Sea with ferry services to Vlieland and Terschelling), Franeker (Planetarium and Frisian Museum), Bolsward (Broerekerk) and Makkum, located on the IJsselmeer with boulevard and beach.

“Koesen” means sleeping well in Frisian. And that will be possible in the comfortable beds, made up with luxury bedding. In addition, "it Koeshûs" is a charmingly decorated and quietly located accommodation, equipped with all the luxuries, with 4 bedrooms. The loft living room with open kitchen is located on the 2nd floor with an adjoining beautiful roof terrace. On the ground floor is your spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath. There is free parking at the door. The bustling city center is within a few minutes' walk.

Beautiful place to relax in Workum

This lovely apartment, located on the first floor, has beautiful views over the countryside, is right on the water and offers plenty of privacy. Through the front door, you enter a spacious hall where you walk up the stairs and enter the apartment. Through the hallway, you reach the bedroom with a comfortable double box spring bed. Opposite the bedroom is the toilet with the spacious bathroom next to it. At the end of the hallway is the spacious cozy living room with kitchen and also two sleeping places.

The Landscape

In this luxurious spacious home, you will experience rural life at its best! With a magnificent view over the countryside in the characteristic landscape of the Frisian Forests, it is wonderful to relax. Even from your bed, you can enjoy the great views and a beautiful sunrise. Who knows, you might spot deer, cows, birds and hares in the meadow. Enjoy the alpacas in the yard. The Landzicht is a great starting point to explore the area. Located near nature reserves, Drachten and the A7.

Rural accommodation on the Frisian Elfstedenroute

Op loopafstand van het centrum van Bolsward, aan de Workumertrekvaart, de originele Friese Elfstedenroute, ligt onze landelijk gelegen boerderij. Wij bieden u in deze landelijke en waterrijke omgeving een royale kamer aan, die voorzien is van een groot tweepersoonsbed, (2x0.90), tv/zit-hoek en een geheel nieuwe badkamer met jacuzzi. Extra slaapgelegenheid is mogelijk. Deze nieuwe ruimte hebben wij gerealiseerd in onze voormalige koeienstal, die grenst aan onze privéwoning.

Dedgum, rural on the waterfront.

This little house has two sides to it. On the breakfast side, you sit very peacefully looking out over the meadows. With a bit of luck, the cows will walk past on the road towards the pasture. On the other side of the house, you are situated on the well-known Elfstedentocht route. It's a bit livelier here. Boats, cyclists, and many tours following the famous Eleven Cities route. The sun circles the house, which means it has a wonderfully sunny garden at any time of the day.

Near the Elfstedenstadjes Bolsward, Sneek, IJlst and Workum, lies this beautiful rural holiday home with stunning views. The vacation home is located at the back of the yard of our farm with dairy farm. It is a very neat, fully furnished house with its own kitchen, bathroom and cozy pellet stove. You will not be lacking anything in the house. The farm is a great starting point for the many cycling, hiking or canoeing routes through the beautiful Frisian Lakes area.

Slow down in this unique, soothing accommodation. You will feel like you have gone back in time to the time of the servant and the farmer in the authentic Knechtenkamer and Bedstee van de meid. This beautiful building has been completely restored in 2024/2025. This centrally located accommodation is tastefully decorated and is situated in the heart of Workum overlooking the harbor and the large church. All the shops, restaurants and museums are within walking distance. One of the most beautiful town squares in Friesland, "De Merk," is just a stone's throw away. There is a lot of parking space around the cottage. Even trucks are no problem.

This exclusive villa is very suitable for relaxation. The whisper-sloop is ready for you to silently explore the Frisian water. Splash into the water from your private terrace or relax on the lounge sofa. You can also enjoy the veranda with patio heater or the other facilities of this recently built villa.
