Nestled at the foot of the mountains, the Rhune and its famous little train, it is the ideal place for the departure of hikes. In the heart of the Basque Country, only 10 minutes from St Jean de Luz, its golf course and beaches, 20 minutes from Biarritz, and 10 minutes from Spain and its "Ventas". Many activities and entertainment are offered all year round, for young and old.

Pleasant Gîte in Ascain near St-Jean-de-Luz

A 17th century house, the Altxua house (Aulnaie in Basque) was renovated in 2006 and offers an independent upstairs apartment with its private terrace (with barbecue). It is a short walk from the village of Ascain and all shops (800 m), 10 minutes from the sea and its beaches, golf courses and is the starting point for many hiking trails including the one leading to the Rhune. In summary: a quiet, relaxing place but close to all the points of interest of the Basque Country.

You can visit the caves, climb the Rhune aboard the little rack railway, go hiking (PR, GR8, GR10), go see the ocean (14 km) or visit the Spanish side.

Quietly located 500 m from the center of the village, easily accessible on foot, you will enjoy the south-facing garden and a magnificent view of the Rhune and the village. 10 minutes from the center of Bayonne and Biarritz, Jean and Isabelle will be happy to welcome you to the Millet house, an old house that they have restored. Located between Maharin Park and the pine forest of Chiberta, the Anglet beaches will be 5 min drive or 20/25 min walk away and accessible by bike through the forest. The duplex accommodation with a private garden of 30 m² is an outbuilding attached to the guest house. Easy street parking.
