Just minutes from campus, downtown, and the airport, The Depot is a historic home attached to 5 wooded acres, a lake, and a "big sky" view across the prairie for watching sunsets and night skies. Originally a train depot constructed in 1857, it has been fully modernized for contemporary living. However, we have taken great effort to preserve its rustic charms that Abraham Lincoln would have known during his circuit riding days before the Civil War. These include graffiti from 1917.
“My hubby and I loved this space. Everything was so easy from the booking, check in, and check out. We sincerely appreciate Donald's understanding of our situation and late arrival. We loved reading the history about the place and admiring the antiques. The foodie in me loved the kitchen space and the breakfast provided! We hope to return so we can spend more time there next time and to meet Don and Judy (we arrived too late and left too early for that to be possible). It is experiences like this that make us love Air-b and b'ing so much!”
Bright, cheerful, and relaxing studio apartment in the center of town. Quiet neighborhood full of charm. Short walk to bus stop and Clark Park and about 5 minutes from campus. Perfect for your next weekend away or business trip! Check in 3:00pm Check out 11am please note: this is a petite space, and the shower is sized accordingly. The queen sized mattress is soft and luxurious (some people say it’s like sleeping on a cloud!), but if you prefer a firm mattress, this may not be the bed for you
“OMG... This place is sooo super D duper cute! Super clean, well-appointed and actually a little bigger than we thought. Plenty of room to walk around each other... It is true...the bed is as soft as a cloud.. and we thoroughly enjoyed laying in it to watch tv/read. We were totally fascinated by the elements of design thruout the space... as well as how much 'kitchen' was packed so comfortably into a compact space! Hope is super attentive to detail, helpful and kind. If you have time, take a walk thru her neighborhood! The houses are soooo fun to look at! We were oooing and ahhing. haahaa Very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend if you ever make a trip to Chambana!”

“As a mom to a freshman at U of I, I was not familiar with Champaign-Urbana. My first visit there was at a Hampton Inn, a typical 3 star hotel located on "hotel row", not very exciting. Covid caused me to look into airbnbs in that area, and I found this. What a gem. It's just a few blocks from campus and there's a great cafe called Caffe Paradiso just two blocks away. Manuel & Shannon's place is right above their garage, and it feels like an elevated treehouse. Their backyard is filled with trees, which I love. They are located on a beautiful street, and the street itself is made of brick! It's easy to find good food in the area. The amenities in the room are complete, and it's just comfy. Check-in & out is easy, which means a lot because it's not always the case. I thought of not leaving a review out of "fear" that more people will know about it, and someone will beat me to it when parents visit Champaign. But that wouldn't be nice... So here it is. I'm a fan. Also, Manuel is a yoga teacher who teaches body awareness - you might book a session with him... and Shannon teaches at U of I. Both great peeps.”
