Monthly Rentals in Smari

We stayed for 5 nights and had the best time! Manolis place is beautiful, clean and an oasis to recharge and relax. The little house that we stayed in on his farm had everything you would need, beautiful outdoor seating and is private. On the farm you have cats and chickens, beautiful flowers, studding views, etc. Manolis and his family are amazing hosts, probably the best ones we have had so far, extremely friendly and welcoming, they provided us with fresh produce from the village, organized activities and a small dinner for us and were always available. The village is really old and authentic, you can take a little walk. For everything else you definitely need a car and getting up to the farm requires some good driving skills since the streets are very narrow and steep. Over all it really was a 10/10 experience and we will definitely come back! Thank you Manolis & family

We can only agree with the many positive reviews. We had a great time in the beautiful mountain village – it was a special experience. Every morning we had breakfast on the roof terrace and enjoyed the tranquility. At first we thought the sea would be missing, but that wasn't the case at all. We really came to rest – walks in the area were enough for that. Actually, we planned to do more, but we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere so much that we took it easy. Nevertheless, we were traveling by car and made some nice excursions, including to the coast, where we discovered great restaurants. A vacation that will stay with us in very good memory. Kostas and Maria's Gonies Taverna and Appartments are amongst the best and most special places we have ever stayed, both in Crete and elsewhere in Europe. The situation in the mountains, just below the Lasithi Plateau is idyllic, very quiet with just the sound of mountain goats but also on a good road and in a beautiful garden full of bird sound. Kostas and Maria were wonderful generous hosts, the spacious appartment full of personal touches and breakfast (and supper) in their taverna delicious. We stayed 3 nights and would love to come back

Lovely place to stay and well set up - we had a very comfortable couple of days Fabulous to be welcomed with fresh produce most of which was home grown in the fridge and a bottle of wine as well as oils and vinegar and tea and coffee Would definitely stay there again
