Family-friendly holiday rentals in Solothurn

It was our 2nd stay in this spacious, very clean and tidy place. Ferdi and his wife are VERY responsive and seek to adapt to our needs: thank you very much. We'll be back next year. 😉

Perfect place for a group of people who want to go for a hike and relax afterwards. The view from the house is beautiful and the house has everything you need.

Perfect for a large group of 15 people + 6 children! An escape from the daily life of the city, especially when it's a hot weekend on the plateau. It's not the North Pole, but in terms of isolation from civilization, you could almost believe it. The view is magnificent, the amenities (fireplace for raclette, grill/fire pit - both working with wood fire available on site - Nordic style hot tub - which we did not need to heat given the heat of the moment - and without forgetting the large canvas that can be deployed by pressing a button offering shade on almost the entire terrace). The kitchen downstairs has all the amenities and enough space if the group is well organized and tidy (which was not our case!) You have to live with two cows, the farmers next door who work there during the day (but don't sleep there) and the fact that the parking lot is a 3-minute walk away, at the edge of the forest. Would we go back? Yes.

The Apartment was everything we needed. It is located above the families house in a beautiful area. There isn’t a view from the apartment however there is a nice outdoor seating area looking over the valley. The driveway is steep. We drove our car up it, but you wouldn’t want to if it was wet. Walking up was no problem. The house is located in a beautiful valley. Thanks!

We loved our stay here. The house was incredible, as pictured with enough room for our party of 8 including 5 adults, 1 teen, 1 toddler, and 1 baby. The ability to request a pack and play for infant and toys for my toddler was a game changer. The space was thoughtful and enough room for everyone to relax. The town is very quiet and sweet. You can easily walk to Migros and local restaurants. It was perfect for day trips to Thun, Lucerne, Bern, Zurich. It was the perfect landing spot for our group. Laundry is always a plus! Just a couple notes if you have kiddos and plan to do all public transportation, (not a big deal if you have a car but we didn't want to travel with car seats): the home is all tile throughout, not a lot of space to roll around if you have crawling babe etc. The house was absolutely walkable with a stroller from bus stations but don't follow google maps on the 345 bus stop, it'll take a shortcut up to the house that is all stairs. Take the 346 bus instead.

Esther’s place was the perfect home base for our Switzerland trip! The apartment was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was quiet and peaceful, but still convenient for train travel and day trips. Esther and Peter were kind and responsive hosts, and made us feel at home. Would absolutely stay here again!

Lovely, spacious, light-filled apartment near the bus line (but be prepared for a slightly strenuous walk uphill—a good quick workout, though!). If the weather is nice, there’s a very private patio/garden area, perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Nice view of the lake from the dining table. Great storage so you can unpack and move in for the stay. Be sure to visit the Laténium, just a few minutes downhill, along the shoreline of the lake.

This is the second time I have visited Thomas, and it is always a pleasure to find the calm of this cabin in which we feel good. Ideal for relaxing and spending time peacefully. Thomas is a very friendly, responsive host and communication is very clear.

Katharin’s Chalet was fantastic, great welcome, superbe view and well equipped. Katharin is a friendly host and made a special stay for us in Ementhal. I highly recommend

Looking for a quiet place to stay with that certain something, we finally spent New Year's Eve at Lamahof. Not only our dog Hope could enjoy the few days, far away from fireworks and firecrackers. My husband and I were also able to relax between wood-burning stoves, country house charm and many cheeky llamas and other farm animals. Thanks Karin and Family for the wonderful experience.

We were at Stefan's and his family's for the first time and felt right at home. The small apartment had everything and for the children it was a real dream. The location is great for a number of excursions. We'll be back.

Excellent stay, just a few meters from the best view of Bern. We really enjoyed our stay here, and Stefan was very responsive (provided additional pillows after our first night!). So handy to have a parking spot, yet it is walkable (within a half mile, I believe) to the beginning of Old Town. The Bear Park is even closer! Comfy lodging with plenty of space, appreciated being able to give our teen kids separate sleeping area even within the same room. Great well-set kitchen for cooking lots of meals - wish we had time to try Stefan's restaurant! Great shower in the bathroom, pressure and hot water after a long day of hikes. If you give Stefan your bdays and names, he can provide Bern transit passes - this will even get you up Bern's home mountain The Gurten, where there's an alpine coaster and other fun stuff to do. We'd love to come back and take advantage of that! All in all a lovely opportunity to feel like a resident of Bern 😍

We had an amazing stay! The space was so convenient and comfortable that, for the 7 days we were here as the developer team of Lynx, it truly felt like home. Julian, you are one of a kind – thank you so much for the warmth and hospitality you offered us. Everything was spotless, thoughtfully arranged, and welcoming from the very first moment. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area – and we’d definitely love to come back!

very nice cottage, in the middle of the forest. A change of scenery guaranteed. Pierre was very welcoming and full of good advice. There is everything you need for a great cocooning stay, by the fire, sauna, surrounded by nature.

Nice place in the center of Basel with free access to public transportation. Easy to walk to various areas of Basel. Storage available for bicycles too. Gordon is super quick to provide great insights and helpful instructions. We walked to the river and then on to a restaurant while staying there.

We had a very nice time with Rita. My 6-year-old daughter was very warmly received by Rita and taken directly to the farm. There, she is allowed to drive a small tractor. There was also a small wooden farm and other small toys in the apartment. So, for a vacation with children, it's just really nice. I can therefore highly recommend it.

Dear Tom, thank you for letting us celebrate our wedding in your accommodation and create unforgettable moments! Your attention to detail and your plants is very fascinating! Despite the rainy weather, jumping into the Rhine was a must! We enjoyed the last evening on the terrace with very nice, romantic lighting. We booked the accommodation for a family weekend, 8 adults and 9 children. It was the perfect time to enjoy the time with fun and games, we could let our children play in the large garden with a safe feeling. All the equipment was available and Martin was always available with advice and help. We especially liked the evenings in the open air, which we enjoyed in the pavilion and the children could watch a football game on the big screen. We highly recommend this location.

Perfect stay, an apartment in a condominium of beautiful contemporary architecture, a sublime pool and a refreshing calm! All within 15 min from Bern! Lisa was a great help with the instructions and very responsive! Everything was perfect!

This place is absolutely stunning extremely tasteful stylish & loving furnished with very beautiful mountains views. Yves is a super friendly very helpful responsive person he went way beyond to make my stay so comfortable & very memorable he's one of the most thoughtful host I ever meet before. The apartment is in a great location, right on the village square. Communication with Margarita was great, uncomplicated and fast. The apartment is well equipped and we enjoyed the two balconies enormously.

Franziska was a fabulous host. Very welcoming and really responsive to queries and advice before we arrived. There was food provided for breakfast and dinner (although we ate out in the evenings) and coffee, tea and biscuits! Also toiletries in the bathroom- everything we could need. Also very convenient location as next to the train station with a 7min journey into Basel and a 2 min walk to tram also. Made our visit for Eurovision 2025 even more enjoyable! Thank you
