Caxton Cottage was the perfect base for our week exploring the Lake District. The location is perfect — just steps from the train station, bus stops and a beautiful large grocery store. Within minutes you can walk to any kind of restaurant/coffee shop in town, or down the hill to Bowness. The cottage was a wonderfully cozy, comfortable and peaceful home for us. Well outfitted, we cooked and stayed in several nights after our active days of biking, boating and exploring. Kay is wonderful. Every interaction was warm, gracious, helpful and she responded within minutes!

Lovely house, great views, within 30 mins drive to all main south lakes sights. Communication and check in all very easy and clear. We had a great stay :)

A cozy spot perfectly located for an escape to the lakes. The birdhouse had everything you could need and the bed was so comfortable. We had such an amazing weekend and can't wait to come back!

Had a fantastic 3 night stay here.. lovely and quiet but close walking distance to the town centre. Felt like home from home and had everything we needed! X

Had a lovely short stay at The BoatHouse. Views were absolutely stunning and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable. The beds were super comfy. The work next door was a little noisy at times but we were pre-warned and to be honest it didn’t bother us. Just beware to close the blind in the bathroom as the crane provides a direct view in! Please note that you need to bring your own toilet/kitchen roll for the accommodation otherwise everything was extremely well stocked. Would definitely return!

The drive to the cottage from easedale road, with around 5/6 gates, didn’t phase us at all. I wouldn’t recommend driving along the tracks in a hatchback, but in an SUV it was fine. Also currently in the middle of a drought, so no wet mud to contend with. As I’m young and fit I just jogged between the gates while husband followed in car behind. Check in was fine, the usual key box as with most Airbnb’s, which I prefer over a physical host. Cottage was great, lovely place, gardens and views amazing. It didn’t quite say in the listing, but the whole garden is shared with the other property - it’s massive so space isn’t an issue, it’s more that with dogs this means you have to be constantly watchful which isn’t relaxing - if there was a boundary like a small fence with chicken wire, you could let the dogs roam in peace with the doors open. The mattress was way too hard on the kind size bed for preference, and the other property had a 30 min shower at 2am so I didn’t sleep well sadly.

The venue is stunning, the photos do not do it justice! Everyone has everything the need in each room with their own en suite and the grandness of the building is something else! You have so much space, the large garden area wraps around back and side and is beautiful with stunning views! Everything you could need in the kitchen and welcome bottle very kindly provided by our hosts! Plenty of entertainment and eating areas! When leaving one of our cars broke down and they were very understanding and accommodating! Perfect location, made our stay extra special!

An excellent property in a superb location. Everything you could ask for was provided including a friendly welcome, a beautiful house, superb views, a fantastic hot tub with stunning views, spacious rooms and areas enabling total comfort and relaxation for our three generational party and not forgetting the milk and Prosecco chilling in the fridge and a lovely welcome hamper including local produce and a few treats. Overall a fantastic three night stay (even if it did rain a little bit!) we wish we could have stayed longer and would definitely recommend and will hopefully return soon.

We stayed at Simon and Belinda's place for a week and it was exactly what we needed. Fantastic location for walks and food. The Wainwright's Inn is only 0.2 miles away. Great food and local ales on your doorstep. The cottage is cosy, the kitchen is well equipped and the information provided was very thorough and useful. There are some books in the house they have prepared to show various walks and local recommendations. We did some of these walks and our 5 year old enjoyed every second! We took advantage of the leisure facilities at The Langdale. This was a great addition to the cottage! Really recommend if you want a place near to town locations, walks and local pubs/cafés/restaurants.

We had a wonderful full time at Ribblesdale Park. Really good location with beautiful surroundings and wildlife. The lodge was clean, tidy and cosy and couldn’t have asked for a better host! Will certainly be visiting again in the future.

Really enjoyed our stay, we were celebrating my Mother’s 90th birthday and had other family members staying in other lodges around the park. Beautiful scenery and great location. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

Lovely caravan sited on a well kept location. We are an older couple who only stayed one night to break up a journey, but would thoroughly recommend this space especially if you have a young family. Spotlessly clean and stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay, it makes for a very enjoyable holiday. Many thanks to the hosts!

Had a lovely weekend in this beautiful lodge, weather was good and loved how the doors opened right up, perfect for outside living, a few drinks at night and breakfast on the decking in the morning. Loved the extra touches flowers, doggy basket with towels, treats etc.. was very home to home. Will definately like to return in the future.. thank you 😊

What a fabulous few days me and my boys had ..I’ve never seen them so relaxed (ages 35 and 37 )x I think it was the lovely energy we felt in the beautiful Nest xx looking out over the river each morning set us up for the day. Would recommend 100% , we had everything we needed ..I couldn’t fault it ..the bedrooms immaculate and the beds /bedding were soft clean and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the gym and pool offer also x staff there were lovely at the Swan Hotel. Thank you xx

We have just returned from a few nights away staying at this little piece of paradise. If you’re after a tranquil, relaxing holiday then this is the place to stay. From the house itself, to the spectacular views , the amazing pool house and the lovely, friendly neighbours, this place ticks all the boxes and more. Highly recommend visiting The Queens Arms for a meal (or just a cheeky drink), the staff are so friendly and just made our time away extra special. Malham is only a 20 min (ish) drive away and is stunning (a must see). The only thing I would advise is to make sure you take plenty of supplies (or do an online shop for delivery as we did) as the local shop is a 20min drive away. Thankyou again David, we will definitely be back.

100% wonderful experience. The apartment looked as beautiful as the images, and well-equipped. The location was very convenient too, only 5mins walk to Windermere station so it’s quite lovely to cook. Would defo recommend.

Beautiful accommodation in the heart of Kendal. Clean and aesthetic, we came here for a birthday night away and it was perfect. Had a fantastic stay at Silver Cottage! Staveley is a great spot to stay whilst exploring the Lake District - it has good local cafes and food options as well as dog walks. The cottage was perfect, as described kitchen is on the smaller side but had everything we needed for 5 days. Margaret is a lovely host and who’s highly responsive and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We had a great stay at Hilltop, it's a lovely cottage. I was able to have breakfast outside every day of my stay which was a real luxury for me. We did some great hikes too venturing to the Borrowdale valley with its stunning views and even went down to the beach one day. Good communication with Natasha as well, would definitely reccomend.

It was a great stay, great location and great host. Village is amazing, you get everything you need for short or long stay. Would recommend this if you are planning to visit Lake District as everything is within an hour drive or stay back and relax.

A lovely little place in the centre of Windermere. It’s very small but all you need and a lovely place.

The cottage was stunning and in a beautiful setting, ideally located for getting to and around the lake. Highly recommend for a family get away for beautiful scenery and tranquility.

Had a fantastic stay with my girlfriend and our little dog had such a chilled time could just do with a tv in the bedroom but can’t complain love every second of it definitely be back👍
