Beautiful place, very relaxing and peaceful. Spotlessly clean and provided everything I needed for my stay. Home from home! Ian was very efficient and kind. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

We had a lovely time at this special location. The bedrooms are all decent sizes and having two bathrooms is really handy. We made use of the hot tub and firepit. Charlotte was brilliant - super responsive and helpful. We booked the additional use of the swimming pool and games room. Whilst this is an additional expense it was a real treat and we would honestly recommend this to everyone for the experience.

We had a lovely weekend at Suzanne’s place. The surroundings were beautiful and so peaceful. The hot tub was the highlight and we spent a very relaxing weekend in it. The place itself is so clean and has a lovely layout. Suzanne and her husband were so friendly and were always reachable if need be. We will definitely be back. Rachael and Sarah :)

A wonderfully cosy place where we were able to truly unwind. The fully enclosed garden was perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the peaceful sounds of birds and nature. The house itself is comfortable, well-appointed, and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The jacuzzi was an absolute treat – a perfect way to relax at the end of the day. We really appreciated the attention to detail, and felt right at home.

We absolutely adored our stay. Blissfully peaceful, clean and had all that we could have asked for. We loved the visiting ducks and having duck food provided was fantastic! So much to do locally that there's something for everyone. But so cosy and inviting that I could have easily relaxed at the lodge all week with a book series! I cannot thank the hosts enough for how friendly and helpful they were/are. I cannot recommend this place enough! Book it! And have a wonderful holiday!

We had a wonderful stay in one of the cabins! Easy instructions to find, and ample parking. Beautiful landscaping around the pod cabins, and although there were others, it felt very secluded and private. Very quiet and loved hearing the horses and birds. The wood fired hot tub was AMAZING and was the perfect place to catch up with friends. BBQ made for easy dining and we were able to sit out on the patio. Small inside (for 4 people) but perfectly formed and had absolutely everything we needed. Loved our stay and hope to return!

Just had the most amazing three day stay at Kingfisher cabin. It’s a peaceful simple cabin with absolutely everything you could need. Plus special touches such as a hot tub, fire pit, comfy outdoor chairs and a bbq. But the best bit about it is its location , walkable to Horstead Mill Pond and being able to swim along 1k to a nearby pub on the river. Many beautiful wild river swimming spots nearby including from Hostead Church & Buxton by Lamas. Sue is the kindest and most generous host and has a wealth of local knowledge. We couldn’t recommend a stay there enough.

Thanks Debbie :) Pros - peaceful - private - stunning views over fields - comfy beds - loved the sun deck - very dog friendly - easy to find & follow instructions - great recommendations for things to do/ see - milk was left in the fridge for us - cool even on hot day due to shady trees everywhere Cons - curtains in bedrooms aren’t black out so very light in the rooms until late - walls in between the rooms in the cabin are very thin so if anyone’s in the kitchen / living area you can hear everything, not great for sleeping children - birds very loud in ceiling of bedroom very early in the morning, maybe birds nesting in the floorboards above..

The lodge was very clean and comfortable. There was so many little touches, which Kate had in the lodge, including the emergency toiletries and homemade cookies, which was such a lovely gesture. The lodge was fully equipped with all essentials, Kate has really thought of everything. We walked to the local pub for a drink and the locals were so friendly. Any questions which I had, were answered in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this lodge and give it a 5 star rating.

Jenny’s cabin is a great place to stay - very cosy and immaculately clean and we had everything we needed. Location is perfect for local dog walks especially the walk to Wivenhoe via Alresford Creek. Jenny left us lots of welcome treats which were greatly appreciated and also gave us a larger electric fan as the weather was very hot. Definitely recommend

Fantastic lodge in beautiful surroundings . Lisa goes above and beyond to ensure the perfect getaway. The lodge is immaculate and the basket of goodies left for us was amazing, hubby really enjoyed the fishing I loved kicking back and relaxing on the deck with a brew. We would love to return as soon as we can and cannot recommend Lisa and Andy’s lodge enough.Thank you for having us Lisa you certainly are are a super host Karen,Will and Milo xx

A lovely cabin in a beautiful setting with chickens and ducks all around. We loved playing cricket and the kids had a great time in the woods. The cabin itself was lovely - spacious and had everything you needed. The fresh bread and eggs was a lovely touch too. We struggled a little bit with streaming videos with the Wi-Fi - but otherwise a fabulous place. I’d recommend dinner at the Bell Inn down the road - dog friendly and lovely homemade food!

Stephen is an excellent host who went above and beyond for us. I highly recommend staying at Oak Tree Lodge. The lodge was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of space, well designed. There were welcoming biscuits, teas, coffees and milk for us when we arrived. Everything you needed is there. It is in a very peaceful and green area. The secure garden was perfect for our dogs. Everything was comfortable, easy and very relaxing. We had a wonderful stay.

beautiful lodge in a quiet area which would be great for any fishing fans. only 30-40 mins from a selection of great beaches too, so an ideal location for exploring the area. Ruth was a great host and even dropped off some freshly laid eggs and some plastic cups for the hot tub!

My daughters and I had a really restful stay in Sally's caravan; it was just what we needed. The caravan was clean and homely and was just a minute's walk from the beautiful beach. Would recommend and would definately come here again.

The Director’s Shed is a great location, and it is excellent to have a kitchen/fridge/freezer. The garden is filled with wildflowers which gives the shed privacy. The nearby pub with the river is wonderful.

Amazing lodge, very clean and had all the amenities needed. We stayed for 1 night for my husband’s birthday and the little touches were lovely. A bottle of prosecco and orange juice plus milk in the fridge, toiletries in the bathroom and robes for the hot tub! The hot tub was so nice, especially sitting inside and taking in the views! Thank you for a relaxing and chill weekend

We had a lovely stay with the dog! Particularly enjoyed the paddock behind and saying morning to the neighbouring horses. Views amazing from the cabin and plenty of nearby walks. We strolled into the village and visited a local tea room for lunch and spotted 3 deers on route on the old railway walk. Bed was comfortable and all amenities to hand! Hope to stay again!

We wanted somewhere near the beach but also far enough to be peaceful and this chalet fit the bill. It is compact but plenty big enough for us, 2 adults and a 1 year old. Julie provided a high chair and gave us ideas of things to do to keep little one entertained which was very helpful! It was nice to be able to use the clubhouse for free (not always the case), bingo and the quiz were fun and everyone we met, staff and other holidaymakers, were so friendly! The beds were very comfortable and the sofas were nice and big. Decent shower, towels on the small side but soft and nice to be included, good kitchen area with all the utensils we could need. £10 electric card included and it was more than enough for us for the 5 days. Julie was very helpful, we were able to check in early and leave a little late which was so helpful with the baby. We had a lovely stay, thank you!

We had a lovely stay at the Pod. It’s really well set up and thoughtfully designed, with everything you could need for a comfortable getaway. The location is great for anyone looking to unwind by the coast — 20/25 min walk to the beach and town. We’d definitely love to return!

Had such a lovely stay at Pete’s cabin. Sally and Paul are great hosts, very accommodating & interesting to chat to, and it’s a beautiful spot. So generous of them to share it with people! We really hope we can come again for a longer stay. PS: Absolutely fell in love with Biba
