Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Ullswater

Lovely house, great views, within 30 mins drive to all main south lakes sights. Communication and check in all very easy and clear. We had a great stay :)

Fabulous home from home, within walking distance of the town, great local pubs with top class food. Lots of Bus routes to some great places and beautiful walks, what a great place many thanks for letting us stay

The drive to the cottage from easedale road, with around 5/6 gates, didn’t phase us at all. I wouldn’t recommend driving along the tracks in a hatchback, but in an SUV it was fine. Also currently in the middle of a drought, so no wet mud to contend with. As I’m young and fit I just jogged between the gates while husband followed in car behind. Check in was fine, the usual key box as with most Airbnb’s, which I prefer over a physical host. Cottage was great, lovely place, gardens and views amazing. It didn’t quite say in the listing, but the whole garden is shared with the other property - it’s massive so space isn’t an issue, it’s more that with dogs this means you have to be constantly watchful which isn’t relaxing - if there was a boundary like a small fence with chicken wire, you could let the dogs roam in peace with the doors open. The mattress was way too hard on the kind size bed for preference, and the other property had a 30 min shower at 2am so I didn’t sleep well sadly.

The venue is stunning, the photos do not do it justice! Everyone has everything the need in each room with their own en suite and the grandness of the building is something else! You have so much space, the large garden area wraps around back and side and is beautiful with stunning views! Everything you could need in the kitchen and welcome bottle very kindly provided by our hosts! Plenty of entertainment and eating areas! When leaving one of our cars broke down and they were very understanding and accommodating! Perfect location, made our stay extra special!

We’re just home after a very lovely stay in the most beautiful location. Louise communicated well and provided us with a pristine place to stay with everything we could wish for to make us feel at home. The apartment has the most amazing views from every room and is very comfortable and well equipped. There are so many lovely places to visit in the area, some walkable from the accommodation, that we definitely need to visit again. We would have no hesitation in recommending this air bnb - it’s one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you Louise and Mick 😊

Ann's cottage was amazing as ever, 2nd stay here and it won't be the last, beautiful village and the muddy duck cafe is a must, brand new renovation with stunning outside space, great for breakfast and lunch, and the odd fellows pub great for evening meals, the bed in the cottage is one of the best I've slept on and Ann has thought of every possible detail and the garden is perfect for relaxing in too. Thanks again Ann was for the perfect getaway xx

The Lodge was exactly as described with everything I needed. It was located in a lovely and peaceful part of the country, which was within their grounds. The lodge was closer to their home than I thought but this wasn't an issue for me at all. The enclosed garden space was a bonus and my dog loved it! The cake was a lovely touch too. The local town wasn't too far away and pubs were dog friendly which was great. A lovely relaxing break.

Jo was a great host. Very responsive to messages and always happy to help. The house was so clean and spotless, and that's saying something from someone who takes bleach and wipes on holiday to clean! I didn't need to clean a thing here! The location is perfect to the town with many restaurants and supermarkets. Only a 1 min walk away! We had our own parking space in the cul de sac with plenty of room Highly recommend and will be back if needing anywhere to stay in/ near penrith. The beds were the most comfortable beds we'd ever stayed in! Better than home! And lovely fresh linen

Had a lovely couple of nights here. Asked for recommendations for restaurant and takeaways before hand and both we chose were very good. Both Marcelle and Alan are very friendly, as are the dogs! mentioned we were staying for my husbands birthday and without asking banners were put up in the room. thank you. Will remember this place if we are ever in that area again.

This was one of those places that you would wish to keep a secret. The views are breathtaking, the area is quiet, perfect for a retreat for people willing to charge their batteries from their busy lives. It's a bit off the beaten track, so you need a car or a taxi from the train station to get there, but you can rest from the busy touristic towns of the Lake District. Jeanette was a very discreet and lovely host. She furbished the place with great care. Thank you Jeanette for hosting us, your place was a dream come true!

Really nice location, 5 minute walk from town. Was a really lovely stay despite the weather we had, lots of maps and walking guides in the front room and the kitchen came fully equipped with stuff to wash up.Our only recommendation would be to exchange the pillows for firmer ones. Beautiful place in the countryside! Super clean, has everything you might need… and more (like an homemade cake we found in the kitchen waiting for us ❤️) The hosts are super friendly, responsive and helpful, the location is superb if you like quiet and off-the-beaten-track places!

It was a lovely flat in a quiet location. Lots of walks direct from the door. Close to the centre and shops. Instructions for parking and access first class with photos.

The apartment was clean, easy to access and in the middle of Ambleside, close to everything the town has to offer. Parking was close by. We had one question/request to which George responded in the most positive manner on the same day. Beautiful town. Good People. Good spot. Good value.

Scafell View had everything we needed. There was onsite private parking so guaranteed an easy space opposite the property and the apartment is a good size with everything you need. There were 3 of us staying and it great base from which to explore the local area and the views are amazing, especially the night sky! Sharon provided clear instructions on how to find the property with some suggestions and helpful info in the apartment. The only thing I'd ask for would be a few more adult board games for the evenings.

Beautiful property, excellent location. Would love to have stayed longer. Would have preferred the garden to be more private and secure, but this didnt spoil our stay and we had a lovely time . Kitchen was well equipped and the property was bigger than it appeared on the photos!

Such a lovely place, had a nice girly weekend for my hen do with my bridesmaids and maid of honour and the hosts were really sweet. They were happy to co-ordinate with my maid of honour so the whole thing was a really nice surprise and it was overall really private and peaceful with such stunning views. Would highly recommend and think we will definitely be booking again 🤍

With a 15 minute drive into Lancaster and the Forest of Bowland on the doorstep. The Barn was set in an ideal location. It was what my wife and I needed. Some quiet time and fabulous walks in the countryside.

We had a great stay. The house was in a beautiful location, right on the estuary. Plenty of beach for walking. Beds were comfy and ample linen and towels were provided plus a great welcome hamper. The games room provided hours of entertainment and the hot tub was lovely for relaxing in after a busy day. The nearby rock park/quarry was a really interesting day out. We also enjoyed a meal out at the King William IV in Kirksanton. Jenny was a great host and was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Really brilliant place. Lovely house and great amenities. Really well stocked (unusual to have such good wine glasses!!). Well def use again!

We've stayed at other places in the past, but none have given off the positive vibes we experienced here. The care and attention given to the extensive grounds is truly exemplary, right down to the precise way the grass was mown. I never seem to get a good night's sleep except in my own bed, yet here I slept like a lamb for three nights straight! Great beds and luxurious bedding. Finally, the cherry on the cake has to be the privacy and tranquility.
