Situated in the lovely village of Portinscale this warm detached family home provides everything you might want to enjoy a stay in the Lake District. We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

The property offers character and charm whilst providing all the comforts of modern living. It is ideally suited for families with children, couples wishing to stay together or for one couple. There is a pub in the village serving good local food and drinks, and lots of activities in surrounding area, including low level and high mountain walks right from the doorstep.

The village of Dockray overlooks Ullswater with walks from the door to Aira Force waterfall, Hellvellyn or The UIllswater Way. The C2C cycle track runs from up the road along the old roman road from Keswick to Penrith. Friendly pub with dinner & ales is 2 min walk down the road.

The Bothy is a small snug barn conversion adjoining our home close to Ullswater The living accommodation on the ground floor is open plan and has green electric heating and a wood burning stove in a sandstone inglenook, a wooden staircase leads to a bedroom with ensuite facilities.
