Kid-friendly holiday rentals in West Cliff

The only negative is that I can only give them 5 stars when they deserve a 10!!!!! We had a little bit of trepidation when we saw the blue door and the stairs but once we made it into the loft all we could say is WOW! and we immediately extended our stay. The loft is perfectly positioned to get into Whitby with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. And with a view of the Abbey out of your window, I spent hours just gazing at the view! Thanks guys and amazing property and fabulous hosts, we'd definitely stay there again!

5* Accommodation was spotless. Smelt clean and fresh as soon as you walked in the door. Lovely welcome pack included all the essentials. Lots of attention to detail and little extra touches which made the property feel like home. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed and more. Located just outside of Whitby but easy to travel in and around the area. Views from the front window were amazing Would highly recommend and would definitely book again.

Excellent place to stay, really lovely comfortable cottage and all the facilities you need. Close to local bus stops , Cleveland way coastal path and coast to coast path plus lots of walks inland and lovely food in the village pub 5mins walk . Highly recommend to anybody looking at this property.

Really enjoyed our stay. Sandsend is a better choice for us than Whitby as it’s quiet, has a lovely beach and has great variety for places to eat out. Accommodation is great and all restaurants are easily walkable. Great place for dogs as the back garden is fully enclosed. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

1A is a credit to both Ian & Sarra. The property is perfect for 4 adults with each bedroom having it's own bathroom with another WC for emergencies downstairs! The presentation of the property is 1st class with you wanting for nothing. Ian & Sarra really have thought about everything. As an EV driver the ability to charge on site at anytime, at a very reasonable rate, was a bonus. The location was perfect for us, just a 10min stroll to the harbour providing your happy to tackle the Khyber Pass!.. a lot easier than the one in Pakistan!! We have no hesitation in recommending this property and it's location to anyone who wants a relaxing enjoyable stay in Whitby.

Fantastic! This was our first holiday away with our toddler, and it was perfect. There were toys and books available, as well as a travel cot and high chair. The private garden was appreciated to kick a ball around. The whole place was immaculate and Lora should be very proud of this place. Big bonus - during a heatwave, the bedrooms remained max 22 degrees (we bought our room thermometer from home). We kept the curtains closed all day and everyone slept well at night in the cool. The fish and chip shop up the hill provided us with a delicious takeaway for our first night. It was only 10 minutes drive to the local Lidl, and another 10 to Whitby town centre. We may well be back!

We had a great stay here. Location was spectacular and peaceful, away from the bustle of Whitby but close enough to walk 15 minutes down cinder track. Lockable storage for 2 bikes if you need it. House comfortable with well equipped kitchen. Thoroughly recommend!

Fabulous stay in a lovely home. Everything you need is available for a comfortable “home from home” break. Easy check in, great location and only a short walk into Whitby and very convenient to visit other coastal towns. Amanda was a great host and was on hand if needed. Dog friendly with a secure courtyard to the back. Parking wasn’t an issue as there was plenty of space directly outside. We will definitely return!

Immaculately clean place, just as described. Host really responsive in regards instructions and slight tweak to parking. Located close to the town centre which was perfect for what we were after.

Great place to stay in the centre of Whitby

This is a really beautiful property! Although one has to deal with many steps, the beauty and peacefulness and quiet are really worth it. It is comfortable, well equipped, and quiet, with a really charming balcony to sit on – a lovely view of the Abbey. Very easy access to town, beaches, et cetera. The host was helpful, and answered our queries fully and promptly. We would certainly recommend it.

Found the place quite easily, the place was spotlessly clean and a lovely little hideaway, cant fault the rooms, bathroom was lovely, couldn’t initially get onto the drive as the FIL parked over, once on the drive difficult if you are in a big vehicle to reverse out with cars parked opposite behind, so parked back on the road, unfortunately there was a concrete post at an angle hidden in the grass, i opened my door onto it denting it quite badly, shame we wasn’t made aware of this, i removed the yellow post Two real gripes, the heating situation only having two hours at a time is not good, it was cold nights when we visited, so when we went out for the night we came back to a very cold room, for the money paid, heating should be controlled by the guest or at least 4/5 hours on time Struggled to get a phone signal as in a valley, so resorted to Wi-Fi which was awful, it was that slow i could not update my iPhone, so be aware of this if you want contact with the outside world

We had a great stay, it was everything we wanted for the weekend. Comfortable, clean and cosy. There's a little local shop nearby, garden centre. We walked into Whitby which took about an hour ish, nice walk. The first part is on main roads. We would definitely look at staying again.

Lovely accommodation, only a five minute walk from town centre. Co-op only stones through away around corner. Everything catered for in all rooms. Minimalistic so easy to keep tidy and gather belongings at end. Beds veeeerrrrryy comfy. Host v. Communicative and on the ball with info, including a v. Useful app so everything you need to know is in one place. Also basement allocated parking a bonus. Only thing needed now would be a seagull silencer for bedtime... 🤣

Amazing location and it is even larger than expected! The pictures do not actually do it justice. As others have said, there is a separate sitting room with a TV in it that connects to all major streaming networks easily and quickly. the Wi-Fi in the flat was not perfect but it was appropriate for the location. Besides, most people do not go to a beautiful place like Whitby and work like I did. There was public Wi-Fi available for free around the entire town of Whitby that was much faster. I ended up connecting to that as well. Fantastic communication and check in instructions! All in all, The Lookout completely exceeded my expectations - I will be back!

Wonderful apartment - very clean and in walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Only a few mins walk to shops and 5 mins walk to the waterfront. Lovely decor and amenities. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Whitby.

Ray’s lovely cottage lived up to expectations and beyond. There was ample room both inside and out. The furnishings and fittings were of a high standard and supplies of fresh , clean towels and lots of hot water was a bonus. Also the little extras to make you feel at home, tea , coffee , milk and a tea cake. I especially liked the private garden area and the lovely Summer house which was perfect for relaxing in after a days walking. Parking on site is also a big plus. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

A lovely flat with amazing light and views from the windows. Welcome pack very appreciated. It was very comfortable and easy with everything we needed and in a great location. Good instructions to gain access.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shambles Secret. Jenny proved to be a first class host, who went above and beyond to make her guests happy; we cannot thank her enough. The flat was exactly as depicted in the pictures, lovely and cosy and a real home from home. We slept really well, and although the flat is right in the centre of York, it was remarkably quiet. We enjoyed our time in the flat as much as we did sightseeing in fabulous York. Shambles Secret really is right where you want to be, EVERYTHING was within walking distance. We loved our stay … the apartment was comfortable, light & airy with a pretty view out to the garden and the walls of York. Very easy walking distance to everything you would want to see & do in York. Great local restaurants. Could not recommend this apartment enough!!

Fabulous place to stay. Calm, peaceful and a beautiful view of the sea. I stayed with my husband and two children and we loved it. Lovely walk to pub down the road and only a short drive to Scarborough, Robin hoods bay and Whitby. Would definitely like to visit again!

Outstanding! For two travellers Eleanor's quiet haven in York is a gem. Location is ideal being easy walking to/from the hubbub of central York with an elegant setting in leafy quiet retreat after our busy days within the city walls. Furnished tastefully with a period feel, though modern in layout and fit out. Attention to detail with everything awaiting our stay was exceptional.

What a lovely little place!! Spotlessly clean, great shower and quiet location. Beside the river as listed, just so peaceful while enjoying a morning coffee!! As described a short walk into York. Perfect location. Becky and Andrew made every effort to make us feel very welcome. Everything has been very well thought out. A good selection of utensils, glasses and crockery to tea and coffee, making a longer stay and perhaps dining in very easy. The cafetière was much appreciated! Thank you. Offering to arrange to have a few birthday bits ready on arrival was a great service!! And a lovely surprise for my daughter who was celebrating her 21st. Our hosts were very responsive and helpful and we simply loved our stay at The Cocoa pod. We would most definitely return should we find ourselves visiting York again. Thanks again Becky and Andrew
