Holiday rentals with lake access in Williamsburg

The property is spectacular. Everything about the accommodations was excellent. Not one complaint. Just praise. The host was very friendly and helpful. So were the neighbors!

Tommy and Janet were very responsive! They were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend special. The house was a wonderful experience!

Matthew’s home was beautiful and comfortable. As a group of 8 we were a little worried about space. But this spot was perfect!! Walkable distance to the beach in a quiet area. And we had plenty of room both inside and out.

The house is so cozy and made with so much love that you immediately feel at home. Perfectly clean and has absolutely everything you need. The host is exceptionally responsive and helpful and provided us with all the information we needed. If you like fishing or kayaking, you should definitely come. Well if you love nature and birds, this is your place. Big and small, there are a lot of them, and you can watch them endlessly. The place is very quiet and relaxing. I hope we come back.

We so enjoyed our stay!! I frequent the Mathews area for a variety of reasons, but this was by far one of the most beautiful waterfront views I’ve seen at any place I’ve stayed. Buddy and Robin were extremely communicative and flexible— we were in town for a wedding with specific event timings and were able to check-in early to spruce up after travels. Which was SO helpful since some of our group had driven from Cleveland. We ended up spending quite a bit of time doing wedding activities out and about, but I crave coming back here and being able to relax at the beautiful pier and taking a kayak out. Would book again! The proximity to Bethel Beach should be a major selling point. It’s a wonderful walk with great birding opportunities!!

Wonderful stay. Bay Lake Escape is charming, comfortable, and impeccably clean. Betty was a friendly and proactive communicator, offering clear instructions for check in and check out, a digital guidebook, and even a video walk through of the house. The house is well-stocked from the bathrooms to the kitchen; we ate in most days and had all the utensils and appliances we needed for cooking and baking. There are so many thoughtful touches, both decorative and practical: fluffy towels, a jug of filtered water, assorted comfortable seating options (we loved the trestle table and the backyard seating!) dishes especially for the kids. We especially loved the porch and balcony, as we could still enjoy the outdoors on the day it rained. The house is located about two blocks from the beach, making for an easy walk even loaded down with beach supplies. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Thank you, Betty, for the amazing stay!

I rented Deborah’s place for my family so they could stay close by to my home in Urbanna. The house was spotless easy to find easy to get in and very well equipped. While the weather didn’t cooperate, there was plenty to do and the house feels much larger than it is due to the open floor plan and lovely decor. The house is less than five minutes from town and there is lots of shopping close by as well as several restaurants which we visited. We really enjoyed the quiet tranquility and the well-thought-out decor. One of the best Airbnb’s I have stayed in. We will be back!

Everything was as described. We are fully satisfied and would love to come back in the future.

Beautiful home, It was a pleasure to bring my mother back to her home state after 55 years. Thank you for your time and hospitality. It was an amazing event to share this experience in your home.

I would definitely stay here again! My absolute favorite part was the deck outside. It had so much seating and a table with an umbrella. The home was lovely. The queen size bed was comfy. The space on the side of the bed with the wall is awkward because the intake vent is there, and that vent is also loud and annoying. Just wear earplugs! We added two of the wooden tray tables from the closet as night stands. The house is clean except the floor, which I'd imagine is hard to sweep or mop because the boards have shifted, making the floor uneven with cracks through out. So the floor felt and looked a bit dirty, but you're by the beach with sand, so eh not a problem.

Everything went well for my stay-cation. I am familiar with the area and decided to try one of the Airbnbs. The apartment was clean, quiet, and we'll appointed. My only issue was actually with the Airbnb app, it kept lagging for both of us when we messaged each other. All in all, a great atay.

My friends and I stayed for a few days the space was clean and comfortable we felt right at home sitting in the living room together on the big couch, we needed something small just to accommodate the few of us and this worked perfectly not far from stores and fast food which we liked overall great place! We would stay again .

This past weekend, my partner and I celebrated our wedding and needed a welcoming space to host my adult children, their families, and one of our officiants. The Pearly Oyster proved to be the perfect choice. From the moment they arrived, they were captivated by the home's thoughtful layout, breathtaking views, immaculate cleanliness, and the delightful abundance of board games. Lindsay and Randy’s communication was impeccable—keeping me informed every step of the way, allowing me to seamlessly update my group without ever needing to follow up. I cannot recommend The Pearly Oyster highly enough—an exceptional experience all around.

Great house. Perfect location easy access to the beach! Lovely front yard! Plenty of room and had absolutely everything we needed. Even a sweet goody bag with local items and a dog toy for our dog❤️ Hosts communicate very quickly!! Highly recommend!

We had a great day wonderful views of the river. Love the screened in porch and the swing and the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed in my family loved fishing off the dock.

We wanted a retreat from busy life and a place to all come together and this place did not disappoint. We enjoyed crabbing and fishing every day and throughout our five night stay we were amazed at all this place had to offer. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had all the necessities.

We are two old & dear friends who needed a getaway to catch-up, and enjoy some R&R from hectic schedules. We had a short stay, but loved our time at the Haddie James House (it was perfect for us!) We felt safe, we were very comfortable and had a lot of fun shopping/eating in Gloucester (Main St) and downtown Mathews. We would definitely stay here again and add more time to our stay. We never met the hosts (just one of their sweet dogs) but trusted they would respond to us if we had questions. Beautiful property and an adorable little home. Note: We easily found the house following the hosts' instructions and GPS in the daytime. But the hosts are right about it being "tricky" to find in the dark. I was glad we arrived when the sun was shining.
