Welcome to our home: where we have found peace and relaxation for over 20 years. A German native, Big R fell in love with the open land and rolling hills of Wisconsin, becoming a US citizen in the 80s. He met Curly, a Chicago city girl, who brought a little city to his country life. They enjoy raising buffalo and spending warmer days on their porch enjoying the fresh air and beautiful views (with no mosquitos!). Now they want to share their idyllic and peaceful home with you. Drive down a dead-end road and pull up to a rustic cabin filled with high-tech and cozy amenities. We have something for everyone with a gas fireplace, tv (complete with dish, Cinemax, HBO and a Bluetooth sound system), board games and a full kitchen. Take a drink outside to soak in the hot tub or sit around the campfire. When the day is done, you will fall asleep instantly on the memory foam bed, either in the loft or the bedroom, and wake up to a beautiful sunrise looking out over your little getaway.

According to Forbes, Escape makes "the most beautiful tiny houses in the world". Ours is perched near our home above the Black River. It's a quiet neighborhood just minutes from the interstate, parks, trails, and our vibrant downtown with cafés, shops, and great restaurants. Enjoy privacy and breathtaking views from the enormous windows or the cozy daybed on the porch! Deer, beaver, eagles, and more make frequent cameos as the seasons paint shifting riverscapes and astonishing sunsets. *No Pets

Nature’s Nest

Unwind and immerse yourself in nature at this cozy cabin overlooking Timber Coulee Creek. Large living room windows and a spacious deck provide you with a bird’s eye view of the rippling river and many types of wild life. Deer amble through the property; eagles soar and keep an eagle eye on everything. Turkeys, squirrels, coons, and myriad of birds go about their business in this serene environment. This family-size, fully-enclosed suite with a separate entrance from the host's attached house offers all the comforts of home within 15 min. of Minocqua, Rhinelander, and premier outdoor experiences- hiking, biking, fishing, boating. Inside find bright spaces, full log beams, and a hobbiton feel; open concept living area with fully stocked kitchen, table, bunk beds, large couch, TV and Wi-Fi; bedroom with queen bed and stowed air mattress; full bath; play room. The entire suite space is yours.

Little House on the Pretty! Tiny Home in Woods

Little House on the Pretty(LHP) is part of Sittin Pretty Farm. LHP is tucked into the woods giving a place to retreat and restore. The home is finely crafted embodying a simple elegance and character of the Driftless locale. Once inside, a sense of marvel and serenity are sure make heartfelt memories. We are six miles from Viroqua and nestled among Amish Paradise with several neighboring Amish farms. In season the Amish have roadside vegetable stands where you can purchase veggies and pie!

Rustic cabin near Wildcat Mountain State Park and Kickapoo Valley Reserve. A quiet place to disconnect, hike, and enjoy the Driftless. The cabin has electricity, supplied water and a non chemical port-o-let, a heater, wood stove (we supply all indoor wood), fire pit and charcoal grill. Creative souls love my marvelous studio retreat, a delightful one-room loft-style space featuring tall ceilings, an entire wall of sliding glass doors, kitchenette, piano, and an expansive view of a picturesque barn, pasture, and wooded hills. This amazing, heated, spacious country getaway has no plumbing— it's just a few steps across the yard to the main house guest bathroom. Come create, relax, and renew here! Well-behaved dogs, included in your reservation, must be leashed when outside.

Driftless Bluff Glamping Cabin, Peaceful, Secluded

Rustic forest glamping in a heavy duty waterproof fabric shelter, 14 x 20ft. with a 5ft. awning. The perfect get away from it all, relax and enjoy nature. Flashlights, solar lights, propane 2-burner stove, and fire pit with grate. Kitchen set up with dishes, silverware, fully stocked coffee bar, filter water pitcher, shower bucket and most everything else. Compost toilet and foot pump sink. Small wood stove for when it's cold and a fan for when it's hot with battery to charge extras.

Enjoy a weekend off the grid in our rustic cabin on 30 acres of wooded serenity. Watch the sunset on the covered porch, or relax around a campfire. Feel free to explore the woods taking a hike on the network of trails. Nearby you can visit winery's, Wildcat Mountain State Park, the Kickapoo Valley Reserve and more. The driftless region is known for great fishing, scenic drives through the hills and biking. Contact us about additional camp sites on the property for larger groups.
