We contacted Anthony at very short notice to book the annex on the same day. He was extremely accommodating and helped us out of a tricky situation! The annex itself is very clean and new, with a spacious bathroom. There is access to a garden and the location is well situated. We had a lovely stay and would recommend this property to anyone!

Ian and Jane were excellent and communicative hosts who were on hand to solve any issues or problems we might have had during our stay. The accommodation was wonderful and exactly as advertised/expected, nestled in the old core of Bere Ferrers. It was thoroughly clean and provided a nice roomy space for a couple. We used it as a base for exploring Dartmoor and found it to be a terrific place to stay, but would equally work well for a romantic break with bedroom views across the Tamar. I would certainly not hesitate to book again when I am next down on Dartmoor.

We loved the Old Byre as soon as we arrived. The location was superb for exploring the moors and places to eat. The cottage was perfect in terms of size, cleanliness, facilities, and beautiful garden views from the patio. It is dark and quiet at night too, so great for a good nights sleep! Being able to use the paddock to walk our dog first thing and in the evening was ideal. The hosts, including their gorgeous dog Harley, gave us the warmest of welcomes whilst leaving us to enjoy the peace and tranquility. Thank you for a really lovely few days, we’ll definitely be re-booking!

The Big Broom Cupboard very much felt like a home away from home, spotlessly clean and exactly as it appears in the pictures. Robert personally welcomed us when we arrived and showed us into the house and made sure that everything was okay. We wondered if the cake in one of the pictures was just for show but it was there ready for us when we arrived and was absolutely delicious! The house is in such a peaceful location only disturbed by the sound of the birds chirping. We had chosen this particular property to stay at due to one of our group being elderly and with mobility issues and so one of the bedrooms being downstairs and with its own bathroom, worked well. We hope that we get the opportunity to stay here again some time in the future.

Glorious Glamping on the edge of Dartmoor

Alison's shepherd's hut is absolutely heavenly. I went with my seven year old daughter who loved seeing all the sheep and dogs and cats. The hut itself is very beautiful and wonderfully set out with a cosy woodburner. Plus an outside kitchen and wonderful shower and compost toilet. There's a lovely space to eat and toast marshmallows. And the view is breathtaking, absolutely outstanding. You feel private but the farmhouse is near if you needed anything. And you don't need a car to get there.. it's a 7 minute walk from the local lovely train station. And there are beautiful walks nearby and a river within ten minutes walk. It was magical and Alison was a great host. I loved it, so did my daughter. I hope to stay there again. We didn't explore the local village Bere Alston yet but will do another time. We went one train stop to Calstock.. lovely.. to visit our family. It is the essence of peace and countryside! Many thanks to Alison and her family for sharing the magic of it! Beautiful!
