We would like to thank all our wonderful guests over the past 10 years but as we will be moving home the Post Office Cottage will not be available after the end of October. 2026 located on the Bere peninsular yards from theTavy river. An area of outstanding natural beauty. Ideal base for a relaxing break or to explore West Devon, and Dartmoor. The Cottage provides high quality accommodation in a beautiful , rural location. The Old Plough Inn, pub serves real ales, cider & home cooked food.

The Old Smithy, Idyllic hideaway on Dartmoor

The Old Smithy is set is a secluded valley on the river Tavy. It is a mile from the nearest road, down a private track through beautiful moorland and woodland. It's an ideal base for walking, cycling wild swimming and getting away from it all, a true nature lovers paradise! We live in a house on the same site so will be on hand for any advice or assistance. We are on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and an hour's drive from numerous beaches. The thriving town of Tavsitock is 7 miles away.
