Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Bishop Auckland

Janice was a perfect host , we were made to feel very welcome and knew she was on hand if we needed anything . First cottage is spacious and well equipped , boasting stunning views we particularly enjoyed the peace and tranquility It was perfect for getaway for a holiday with our grandaughters they enjoyed visiting the Roman museum , Hadrians wall and Kielder forest bird of prey center Will recommend to family and friends and hopefully will be back for another visit

Clean, spacious and beautifully decorated house. Lots of useful appliances, and books and games for people of all ages! We were pleasantly surprised at how thoughtful it was all arranged. Fabulous range cooker. Ideal for entertaining a dinner party.

Had a great stay at Tom’s place, after a 5 hour drive we approached Durham and received a message letting us know the property was all ready and waiting for us which was a real bonus. We were really impressed by how spacious the bedrooms were, and the shower and bath were amazing too. Kitchen was well stocked for us to enjoy a drink before heading out into Newcastle for the day. This was our first Airbnb experience and we have to say that the bar has been set very high. Our host Trevor was lovely, the area beautiful and interesting, and the accommodation excellent. There were plenty of great walks within an easy drive and it wasn’t overcrowded which made it all the more pleasant. Although the accommodation is great, it is worth being aware that the stairs to the bedroom may present challenges for some people, but if you think you can manage them, you will love this property. There are different options for heating, constant hot water and the kitchen has everything you need. The four legged neighbours are also friendly, if hungry; and my guide dog very much appreciated the lovely dog bed, fleecy blanket and flashing toy! Thank you so much Trevor, it would be lovely to be able to return in the future if we can manage it.

We stayed at the cottage for a couple of nights and had an amazing time! The cottage itself is gorgeous and feels so cosy and homely. The decor is beautiful and the place was pristine. The large bathtub was a real stand out and worth booking the cottage for that and the log burner alone! Everything you could ever need is provided and we were so grateful for that. Any extras were available at a local small corner shop which was fab. We had a lovely couple of days away relaxing and have already recommended to a couple friends. We’d definitely come back again. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Michelle’s cottage was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Convenient parking right by the house was a big plus. We enjoyed our stay!

The perfect place to stay for the night, very spacious rooms and clean throughout. Communication from the hosts was excellent and it was easy to get into the property.

Firstly we have to say a very warm welcome was had. We are very new to Air B and B. Many little items were found, such as dog treats and the welcome pack. Erica came across as very understanding as we took our own bedding as we do not use a duvet. The garden is fully enclosed which suited our dogs perfect. The baby gate came in very usefully as the rules of no pets upstairs.

Wonderful hosts; friendly and responsive. Great location that was close to the main shops, pubs and restaurants in Hexam as well as for visiting Hadrian's Wall. Extremely well equipped and clean. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved my stay here! The place is beautifully decorated with so much character—stylish, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. The setting was perfect too—peaceful, charming, and a great base for exploring the area. What really made the experience stand out were the hosts. Super friendly and welcoming, with incredible local knowledge that totally upgraded my trip. From hidden gems to the best spots to eat and explore, their tips made all the difference. Linda's apartment was just perfect for our stay. Absolutely spotless, everything you could possibly want was available. Great location, 5 minute walk to the Metro then just 3 stops into the city centre or a little bit longer to the coast. Linda was lovely, very welcoming with great communication. Absolutely 5*. This is a very nice apartment and I would definitely recommend it. The location is very good. It is spacious and well equipped and also very clean.

Anne’s place had everything you needed for a short stay , was easy to find with handy parking behind the property . Breakfast was supplied which was a real bonus and milk and tea/ coffee and the beds were comfy . We went into Durham which was only 3-4 miles away and had the best Italian I’ve ever had so all in all a great stay . Thanks Anne . Sarah

Thomas’ flat was just as described. Great location to so many attractions and I loved the milk, bread etc that was provided. I’ve stayed in many Airbnb’s over the years and this was in the top two. Looking forward to visiting again at some stage. Thank you Thomas.
