Shepherds hut holiday rentals in City of Winchester

An absolutely dreamy escape for two! complete with scenic views, and enough special touches to feel at home. Fiona made everything so comfortable and we look forward to coming back!

Well, what can I say? Everything about our stay was simply perfect. A ‘girly time’ spent chilling in a beautifully refurbed Shepherds Hut, with everything provided for a very cosy night. Amanda was such a hospitable host. She made us feel so very welcome with her two dogs, ducks and pigs (we a need to go back and meet the horses and donkey) Amanda lit the fire pit for us after a rainy afternoon, and made the most delicious breakfast and coffee the next day. Joining us after breakfast we enjoyed hearing a myriad of her life stories - and nearly five hours later we departed with lots of happy memories. A little bit of heaven in the Hampshire country side. Exactly as advertised; very generous breakfast brought to the door of the hut by prior arrangement and at reasonable price. Bathroom hut basic but very decent shower with plenty of hot water and spotless.

Fabulous host, gave us the most wonderful recommendations. Helped with ferry tickets and buses to arrive. Beautiful location, so peaceful and calm and relaxing waking up to the sound of nature. Will definitely be visiting again!

What a beautiful cabin/shepherds hut and location. I booked a solo weekend getaway and travelled by train from London, getting a taxi from Woking. All easy. Hosts came to say hello and were super friendly and welcoming. I went on a couple of nice walks but could have easily hung around the cabin all weekend. Perfect for solo getaway or as a couple. A delightful and charming place to stop and relax. Everything was superb - the hut, its private garden, the thoughtful book selection, the bed linen which smelt of fresh air, the warm croissants and home made jams. Daisy the retriever, was the icing on the cake. Sarah and Frank are warm, available as needed but respectful of privacy.

The best site ever. We could enjoy unique hut with a bathtub and private space. The scenery of the hill from there was so nice. Our dog could be a good friend of sheep in the next field and excited for a wild rabbit was running through the field. Facilities are well maintained and clean, especially the wood stove inside worked well and nice. Thank you for the stay and see you again! We found a good Japanese restaurant 5 minutes drive from the site.

After walking 56km on the South Downs that day, seeing the Shepherd’s Hut was a delight. As I arrived I just called up Pauline and she met me outside, and chatted me through the area and told me all about the farm which just added to the magic. The hut had everything you need, kettle, fridge, light, electricity and beautiful views. The area was silent and so private whilst just being next to the South Downs Way path. The bed was so comfortable and the hut was super warm. There is an electric heater should you need it in the winter months. I would 100% stay again!

Honestly we didn’t know how much we needed this break until we got here and experienced our perfect 2 night woodland getaway! Highly recommend and we will definitely be back for another child free chill, Thankyou so much to Victoria, a real gem and got us thinking how we can live more eco friendly at home :)

A really wonderful trip away, the hut is perfect & Laura has really thought of everything - the small touches are really perfect & make your stay feel that bit more magic! Luckily weather was amazing, so made good use of the BBQ & hot tub in the cooler evenings. Some really fantastic walks straight from the hut! The meal options & catering is also such a great idea, had a couple of those during the stay & means you can fully relax knowing everything is taken care of for you! Would absolutely love to come back & stay again ☺️

Had a wonderful weekend in this Shepherd's Hut – cute and cosy, it was lovely both inside and out. Inside: stylish design, everything you need, and a comfortable large bed. Outside - peaceful surroundings which felt private, a sweet veranda with chairs and a table where we sat both in the evening and in the morning when we had our breakfast. The host was responsive and helpful and had very kindly left us plenty of breakfast ingredients, drinks and snacks. Parking space was available and some cute towns can be accessed a short drive away – we visited Petworth and Arundel, both charming and full of antique shops.

Lovely 2 nights. Small but very well equipped,we didn't want for anything. hot tub was pre heated (wood fired) ready for our arrival, which was most welcome. Fire pit & logs also provided. We very much enjoyed our stay & would recommend! As per other reviews, there is a train line with in frequent trains, we honestly didn't find this intrusive at all.

The hut is very cosy and in a wonderful setting with fantastic amenities. The hosts were always responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. We greatly appreciated the provision of kitchen essentials and surprise extras including beer and icecream! We will highly recommend and hope to return :)

Emily is a great host, friendly and helpful. Gave us lots of local recommendations. The place is good, BBQ and fire pit was fantastic. Farm shop is nearby. The only small downside is the traffic noise.

Really enjoyed my stay at this brilliant shepherds hut! It's super cosy, fully equipped with everything you might for a short stay, comfy bed (loves the night sky fairy lights inside), beautiful and quiet surroundings. Felt private, but safe. Matt was a great host.

We wanted a relaxing few days and that’s exactly what we got! The shepherds hut is beautifully appointed and is in an idyllic situation. We had lots of things planned to do but in the end just chilled as the spot was so beautiful (we were also very lucky with the weather!)

Had a beautiful time at The Great Escape! Such a peaceful place with lush surroundings. The hot tub was such a treat and the hut was very clean with all the amenities you could need. Would absolutely come back!

Absolutely amazing! This is such a great find! We had family staying at Whitecliff Caravan park so this was perfect for us as a couple who prefer something a little more alternative to a caravan! Every was as described, and more! All the little details had been thought of… from discounted ferry, fresh milk, bread and eggs (thank you!) plus soft bedding and local recommendations. The whole check in and out process was seamless and very private, but we knew help was there should we need it. We have stayed in a few Shepherds huts and this was by far the best.. clean, tidy with just the right amount of personal touches. Thank you!

The most wonderful stay in the most beautiful little hut. From the moment I arrived I felt instantly relaxed. Emily has created the most perfectly peaceful space, inside and out. She is also a wonderful host & was able to help me with my forgotten item. Waking up to the sound of the birds, with the greenery outside the window was my favourite part. Emily’s hut is a delightfully comfortable space and the log burner keeps you very cosy in the evening. The village itself is also delightful to walk around, there is plenty to explore in the area and a great pub on the doorstep. The only downside was checking out.

The Deer Hut is a total gem, tucked away down a country lane with a lovely outlook. Was so peaceful and I loved lying on the cosy cabin bed watching the sun go down through the stable-type door. Emma was really friendly and helpful, even lending me scales which I randomly needed! The hut has everything you could ask for and more - it's been beautifully fitted out with such attention to detail. I'll definitely be back!

A lovely hut in the New Forest, beside the local pub (which we didn’t actually try). A peaceful location! Really well appointed, luxurious hut, with v comfy bed and a lovely bathroom! What more could you want!

Katie and Jason were very kind and welcoming. We loved the place. It’s isolated and the nature is beautiful. Facilities were great as well, bbq, hot tub, picnic table and lounge chairs to enjoy the surroundings. Small things like having biscuits, milk and eggs were very much appreciated as well.

Absolutely fabulous stay! The location was stunning—peaceful and surrounded by nature. The shepherd’s hut had everything you could possibly need, thoughtfully equipped and super cosy. The highlight? Beautiful horses grazing right at the bottom of the garden—just magical. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Will definitely be back!
