Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Mark the host gave us super easy and clear instructions to get to, and get in the caravan which made things super easy. The caravan is absolutely stunning, so clean inside with absolutely everything you need, from plates, cleaning products, even a slow cooker and dishwasher. Everything was left for our one year old including a cot and blankets, and they even had bubbles, loads of games and books for all ages. The WiFi worked really well and honestly we couldn’t fault it. The site was lovely, although there wasn’t loads to do for the kids, they made use of the golf, football pitches and pool. The entertainment was decent and we even won £500 at bingo! Thanks for a lovely stay!

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was just as described and in the perfect location so we hardly had to use the car at all and were able to walk to Windermere, Bowness and Brockhole with our two girls ( 13 and 8). The use of the nearby pool was an added bonus after a day in the mountains. We’ll definitely be back! 😀

This place was beyond our expectations. Immaculately presented, super clean, tidy, jaw dropping views. I can't fault it in any way and I can't rate it highly enough. Will definately look to return in the future. Stunning!

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Badgers Rest. The home was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and in a great location. The facilities were amazing nearby too.

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

Melissa was a great host, who communicated all the essential information and was always on hand with any questions we had. The property was in great condition and perfectly met all of our needs. I would highly recommend staying here. Amazing.

We had a great stay and would love to return one day. We went as a family of 4 - with our 17 & 19 year old sons and all really enjoyed the holiday cottage. The stand out 'wow' is the beautiful garden that leads down to the river at the bottom....a very rare find. The cottage is in the heart of the village, so there's easy access to small shops and variety of pubs to eat in. We had mixed weather and so enjoyed local walks but were glad of the log burner and heating to warm up at the end of the day. There's still a beautiful view of the garden even if it's raining. The cottage was well equipped and homely - it was much lighter and brighter inside than we'd thought it would be. Great stay - Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay here and made amazing memories. The surroundings were stunning, and we felt right at home. We loved the cottage and the little touches made the stay even better - the brownies were to die for. Rosie was a great host, and we’d love to come back in the near future.

Our stay at Bowscar farm was a moment of peace and happiness. The accommodation is even better than the description and really comfortable, we had everything we needed. Pat and Neil are amazing hosts, always keen to help or to share recommendations about walks and restaurants. We couldn't have dreamed a better place to stay during our mini honeymoon. We loved the surroundings and the Lake District. We highly recommend the farm and will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Welsh Yard retreat. Such a lovely quirky place. Nipping clean & the bed was so comfy. Minutes from the Main Street in Penrith & shops & takeaways right across the street. Parking was no problem across the road. Thanks for a wonderful stay xxx

A wonderful spot. We loved our time here and the house is just so homely and cosey but bags of space. The BBQ, sauna and hot tub really made it a place a bunch of friends could make home. There were some lovely walks super close and and one lovely one down the river into Sedbergh. Lovely stuff.

We had a wonderful weekend at Mount Pleasant cottage with our family, celebrating a big birthday. The cottage was just perfect with lots of space and a big garden for the children and dogs to play in. It was well stocked with everything we needed and even lots of toys for the children. The location is really beautiful, and close to the Lakes. We would definitely like to return!

The house has the wow factor. Clean, tidy and you have the use of a hot tub or an amazing bath after a long walk. I would recommend taking a bath robe and flip flops for the spa/hot tub area. Everything you need is in the kitchen. The fireplace is stocked up with wood and heats the whole house and it feels so cosy. The homemade lemon drizzle cake was a treat to take with us on our walks. Dog friendly and a basket of treats for our pup and considering it’s dog friendly the house is kept immaculate. The area is perfect for those that enjoy peace and nature and amazing views. So many walks straight from your doorstep. There is a small post office in the village and Alston town not far away for bigger shops and fuel station. Lovely neighbours with a wealth of knowledge of the area. My husband and I along with our dog had an amazing stay and would definitely go back.

Harriet is so welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in her stunning barns. Everything is finished to a very high spec and the spacious bedrooms and en-suites are wonderful. The farm and countryside setting is beautiful. We were sorry to leave!

We had a lovely couple of days in Natalie’s beautiful cottage. It was absolutely perfect for our needs. Beautifully presented and scrupulously clean. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We had dinner at The Masons Arms (3 minutes walk away) one night and practically had to roll ourselves back to the cottage we were so full 😁 The scenery around here is gorgeous and we even managed to see a red squirrel when we stopped at Orion Scar Cafe. We stayed here for my girlfriends birthday with our dog. The house is absolutely stunning and very large - the photos don’t even do it justice! Iain and Louise were very responsive, beds were incredibly comfortable and we very much enjoyed the beautiful village setting. We would love to visit again!

Large spacious house and garden. The shower was great. WiFi was a little slow but it didn’t affect our stay. Overall, excellent base for our family stay with beautiful walks from the doorstep.
