A lovely 2 bedroom cottage with a lovely ambiance, lovely beds and furnishings. The village has lots of eateries and shops. A lovely quiet location.

The accommodation was homely, comfy and spotlessly clean. Communication from the host, Barry, was excellent and offered recommendations. The only down side is we could only manage to stay one night. Location was in a beautiful village with plenty of cafes and pubs. Would definitely recommend 100%.

We fancied a nice quiet weekend away and it was perfect for this :) Ailsa was very responsive and helpful. We bought some eggs from the farm we stayed on and they were lovely! The place is so cozy and it was spotless. The local village (Helmsley) was so pretty and we enjoyed taking in the local sights. It’s worth noting (which is not in any way the fault of the host or venue) that if you fancy getting into the local village, the only local taxi firm won’t service this Airbnb as it’s too rural. The spot Ailsa let us stay at in the Bothy had plenty of animals around which we loved, although maybe not one of you’re not a cat lover as there is a very friendly one and it took to meowing outside through the night which woke us a few times! 🤣 We enjoyed our stay for a cosy couples weekend, loved the hot tub and the venue, thank you Ailsa for your helpfulness and for the thoughtful local recommendations left at the venue too. We hope to come back one day! Top marks all round.

Perfect location to explore North Yorkshire: Whitby; York; cycling in Dalby Forest; Castle Howard and near to charming Helmsley and Rievaulx. Beds comfortable and bathroom /shower great for the 2 of us. Very elegant and comfortable kitchen. It had the added benefit of digital access to the heating of the house so we did switch to 20 degrees one very cool night. Parking available outside the house on occasions or park within 50 metres round the corner.
