Holiday rentals with a patio in Harrisonburg

Rosemary's Nest is awesome! The view off the front porch is a different movie every night. Old Rag, White Oak Canyon and the Skyline Drive are about 40 minutes away, Culpeper is 16 miles away. I suppose we were a little different type of guests, as we stayed ~six months. I was there to recover from a full hip replacement and the steep-ish driveway was perfect for physical therapy. Rosemary and Joe became like family, kept an eye out for us and they invited us upstairs for many delicious dinners and a Civil War quiz. If I have to get my other hip done in the next year or so, we certainly will be returning!

My husband and I decided to extend our honeymoon stay in the area and the lodging we had been staying at couldn’t host us for the extra day, which is how we came to find this gem! We loved this apartment and wished we could have stayed longer! The location was great and the home itself was just STUNNING. From the low lights & jazz music playing on arrival, to the cute & homey decor, to all the extras (robes, espresso, cozy blankets), this place completely impressed us. Oh, and the outdoor area was just an extra plus! The host was super responsive and sweet and couldn’t have possibly done anything better, it was all perfect! We would 100% recommend this stay and we hope to return for an anniversary trip!

Communication with Isabella was a breeze. She was responsive and friendly. Location was good - just a few minutes to JMU, grocery stores, and restaurants. The place was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The kitchen had all the necessary amenities - stove, oven, fridge, microwave oven, kettle, and coffee machine. There are also washer and dryer which are able to handle big loads of laundry. The bedrooms are comfortable, as were the beds and pillows. Even though the bathroom is small, the shower water pressure is very good. Isabella and Lorenzo provided us with helpful information and recommendations of where to eat and things to do in the area. Thank you 😊

Jennifer's place is a great stay! We were there for just one night and it was perfect for access to downtown Harrisonburg to meet up with family. very quiet and peaceful setting in the countryside. We did not hear the hosts the live in the space above the apartment. additional information/instructions were around the apartment that were very helpful. we would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.

Glenn is a great host. Friendly, helpful, flexible. Wonderful lawn that goes down to the river. Canoe and kayaks available. Fire pit with lots of free wood. Well equipped kitchen. Very quiet. We’d go back anytime.

This is a lovely place in a great location. It is beautifully decorated and near to some great restaurants and a coffee shop with unbelievable scones!

We are repeat guests at Paula’s and it’s always a great time. Visiting our JMU Duke and staying at the Southern Charm Retreat is always fun, convenient to the campus and relaxing. House is roomy and super clean. The game room is a fun bonus and the back yard deck is beautiful, well maintained and great for entertaining. Thanks as always Paula !

I really enjoyed my stay. I was in town for 10 days for work, and this was exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of room to unpack, to work, to cook/eat, and to hang for a longer stay. Bed was comfortable. Coffee and cream were provided throughout my stay. Hot water and wifi were both great. Kitchen had the basics. It was nice to be able to prepare at least a few breakfasts and save/heat up leftovers a few nights, instead of eating out for every meal. Location can't be beat. It was a 0.5 mile walk to the beautiful park and 0.5 mile to the downtown area with all the restaurants and shops. I walked everywhere! Park has some workout equipment in addition to a 1-mile-ish walking loop that kept me active. Highly recommend this spot for short or long stays. Note that if you are over 5'10", you might not find this a comfortable stay. Ceilings are quite low in spots throughout the apartment. More than fine for me at 5'7" but my 6'2" partner wouldn't have wanted to be there a week!

Clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The host was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Check-in was smooth, and the location was convenient. We had a comfortable and enjoyable experience—would definitely recommend and stay here again!

My wife and I were able to stay at the gray house to celebrate her birthday. Emily and Gabriel were great hosts. We were close to wineries and good food, and couldn't complain about a single thing during our stay

What a great place on the river!! Very peaceful. Clean. Comfy. Loved the screened in porch. The birds are incredible. Has just about everything one would need. Host was responsive. This is 30min outside Luray, but well worth it in my opinion. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and definitely recommend for the easy going traveler. A+ in our books.

We had a wonderful, relaxing, much needed getaway for a birthday weekend. We really enjoyed the screened in patio and the hot tub! We also appreciated the guidebook that was provided for us in the living room. It was much helpful! We felt right at home and even wished we had came a day earlier. Great stay!

The place was really well set up. the drive up is a bit confusing the first time for sure. The house has everything a couple could need. Little bit of privacy, a nice space and a close proximity to a couple of small towns. The house was clean and had plenty of blankets, towels etc. Only negative (and it's a nitpick cause there was a lot of rain the weeks leading up to our stay) but the back deck furniture was covered in mildew and dead leaves. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Our stay at OverlookLoft was amazing. Host James answered our many questions, and made us feel right at home. The loft is about 20minutes from Shenandoah national park, and within 60minutes of 10 different hikes along Skyline Drive. The loft has upgraded amenities, including remote control hvac, and a new outdoor propane grill. You’ll find comfy outdoor seating on the refinished deck. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, spices and more. Making a home cooked meal was easy and convenient. The onsite water supply was fresh, clean and delicious, I strongly recommend giving the tap a try. Inside you’ll find a thoughtful guidebook, loaded with numerous pages of local hotspots and town history. The local town of Elkton was filled with super friendly folks. As was nearby Harrisonburg. Glad we had our 4x4 with us, as some parts of the road and driveway were steep.

Our stay was everything we could have wanted for a weekend with friends. James was extremely helpful, flexible, and communicative, and the house is clean, well stocked, and packs a lot of space & fun into a small footprint.

This is me and my bf 2nd time booking one of sheilas cottages and we will do it over and over again, her response time is unmatched and always wants us to be satisfied with our stay and i really appreciate everything she does for us. i will always come back to her whenever im in this area, BEST HOST EVER

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Randolph’s mountain getaway! The space was peaceful, clean, and beautifully located—just the perfect escape from the noise and busyness of everyday life. Randolph was a fantastic host—warm, responsive, and helpful! He made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and offered great local tips in his guidebook. If you're looking for a relaxing, private retreat in the mountains with a thoughtful and welcoming host, this is the place. We’ll definitely be back!

Joy's condo in Bridgewater was very pretty, spacious, comfortable and clean. My traveling companions and I thoroughly enjoyed using it as a home base for our activities. It had everything we needed to feel at home. The neighborhood that it was in was very quiet and easy to get in and out of. I would definitely recommend it as a wonderful place to stay when vacationing in that area of Virginia. Susan

Molly was a great host. The Airbnb looks exactly like the photos. The place was clean and had everything we needed. It was quiet and we couldn’t hear any neighbors. Molly gave very detailed instructions which made checking in super simple. The beds were a little bit hard but other than that, this was a perfect place to stay.

This was exactly what my husband and I needed to get out of the busy shuffle of the cities. Peaceful. Great breweries nearby! The house was very clean, but still had that cabin feel. Porch was a great place to sit and drink coffee or hang out with beautiful views.

Very clean and a great place to sit back and relax after a long day out. The living room features two sliding glass doors with screens, which was perfect for the weather in early-June. That and the covered balcony was where we sat back and relaxed.

The rental and grounds met our expectations and needs very well. Lots to do in the surrounding area. The pool and hot tub were just right. Comfy beds and cozy common area.
