We loved Gabrielle’s place. Surrounded by nature, the frogs sang us to sleep. It was lovely sitting outside on the stoop and spacious to be all together. And was also lovely and cosy sitting around the indoor fireplace. Will definitely go back!

We had a wonderful time at David's cottage and would definitely recommend this spot. There's heaps to do in the surrounding areas but just chilling out and disconnecting and exploring the farm is enough! Thank you Colleen and Janie.

Quaint off-grid old cottage in a beautiful rural setting. Very nice hosts and divine home baked bread on arrival! Also leads to very scenic back roads in the area that are worth exploring.

What a wonderful stat!! We absolutely loved the cottage feel with the quiet and remote location. The lapa/pool area was amazing and we spent happy days swimming and evening braais while stargazing. Close to stilbaai for outings and great to come back to the farm to relax. Erica and her staff were absolutely amazing, so welcoming and willing to make us comfortable in any way. Highly recommended!!

The two hosts Helen and Owen are very warm people, it was very easy to feel comfortable there quickly. We had the apartment with its own kitchen and private terrace. There is also a shared kitchen that we could have used. Our wet things could be placed and dried in the garden. There is plenty of space. And since we were there for Christmas, Helek had even baked for everyone. It was a very nice stay.

Great rustic farm stay outside of Swellendam. Safe to explore the area and the wood fired hot tub was a perfect addition. We loved exploring the farm and spotting all of the animals, especially the giraffe! Comms from the host could have been better though as we had some difficulty finding the farm for check-in without any directions.

We were welcomed from the moment we drove through the gate to the basket of goodies we needed. Absolutely lovely! The dirt road may seem long to get to the farm but just enjoy the ride and the farm is beautiful!!! I Wish we would have planned a couple days just to sit back and enjoy everything. We were still glad we went and hosts went up and beyond to help us out!!! Special place! Highly recommend!

We had a marvellous time at Brian's house. A well equipped sparkling clean house right on the Breede Rivers banks. Spectacular sunrise and sunsets. A truly special gem of a place.

Comfortable place, friendly host and an indoor fire place

We had a very nice stay with Sam and her husband. They are both very warm and interesting people. We were warmly welcomed by Sam and her dogs and accompanied to a restored house with impressive historical interiors. In the kitchen was freshly baked bread, which tasted delicious. For our children, it was a highlight to help Joe feed the animals and they could also feed and pet the animals (dogs, cat, donkey, horses, sheep, pigs, birds) alone at any time. For us, it was a great experience to be so close to the animals. A goat or the donkey liked to stand outside our door. We took them all into our hearts. One day we were on the beautiful beach of Stillbay. Due to the short time we could no longer explore, we very much wish to come back again. We highly recommend this place. An animal adventure is sure to await. Otherwise, the history of the house is impressive.

Absolutely perfect cottage and location for a peaceful getaway. Very clean, well furnished with thoughtful touches like binoculars, books, well stocked braai utensils and grids. Even stocked with fresh farm milk and eggs. Bernadine was a great communicator, very accommodating and all-round amazing host.

It’s a brilliant and peaceful place on the river. The boathouse is a great place to come with a group of friends or family. You can swim in the river or do a little bit of canoeing, which is really nice for it to be right on your doorstep. Overall, a highly recommended place where I hope to come again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our farm stay with Braham. The peaceful setting, fresh air, and quiet distance from town created a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle. We'll definitely be back for a longer stay. Thank you Braham.

Has so many different spaces to utilise, from an undercover braai, to an outside braai, to an indoor fireplace. Also multiple picnic spots next to the river. Had an amazing time :)

Stunning accommodation for an escape to nature. It was easy to locate and the hosts were friendly and welcoming.

What an absolute gem - the perfect breakaway from the city hustle. It was so peaceful and the Mountain View was absolutely breathtaking. This was also perfect for our dogs - great big property to run, but perfect enclosure too. Tharien was a superhost, always responsive and willing to help. Definitely a must visit; looking forward to being back!

It was a home away from home. I love everything about it and I’m definitely coming. The warmth I felt there from welcoming to a nice chill with the hosts made my trip complete.

We absolutely loved our stay at Riversong farm. The home has a lovely flow and good sized bedrooms for a family or 2 to have a wonderful stay together. The deep verandah has lovely views and we found ourselves braaing every night. The river is beautiful (and was so warm!) and we enjoyed canoeing and swimming. A bonus that it had a gate so we didn’t have to worry about the little one wondering down on his own. Piers was an excellent host and we enjoyed our conversations and he was very attentive. We look forward to staying again soon!

It's a very picturesque place, an attachment to the main house built inside of what used to be a water reservoir!! It is perfectly transformed in an unique and beautiful ensuite room, confortable and cozy. Despite the fact that we arrived very late and on really short notice (we booked the place while we were on the road and just a couple of hours away), Neels was extremely friendly and helpful, he offered us welcoming drinks, let us use the kitchen facilities on the outside of the house and even shared his food with us!! We didn't get to meet his wife, who was out of town at the occasion, but we met their three beautiful dogs, which are very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it, but notice that it is a small farm a little bit away from the town.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Kliphuis. We could switch off and relax from the moment we got there. The directions and self-checkin worked very well. The house had everything we needed, even an ice machine. As our host Jacques was not expecting any guests on the day of our departure, he offered that we could stay an extra night if we wanted to, and of course we did! It felt as if we were in the middle of nowhere, we did not see other people for our whole stay. Although the place is quite remote, its very safe and there is cellphone reception. The huge stoep with comfy coaches on wheels and one of them hanging, was such a highlight. We sat on the stoep almost the whole day enjoying nature, birdlife in/around the river below, and the amazing view of the starts at night. We were woken up by 4 owls on the stoep on our last morning, what a treat for birders. We were also fortunate that there was water in the river during a hot December.

Sionsberg is an absolute gem. The perfect place to escape city stress and corporate mayhem and just come up for air. Anita's home is magnificent - beautifully curated, high quality bed linen, well-equipped, loads of small special touches and a truly exquisite garden. She went out of her way to ensure we had a wonderful time.

We had the most delightful stay at Doorways. Daph is an extraordinary host and her rooms are comfortable and really well appointed. Spacious, clean, peaceful and surrounded by a beautiful garden, you really can't ask for more. We can't wait to go back.

Our stay at Stonehouse Lodge Olive Farm in Stillbaai was unforgettable. The house is stunning, with 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms downstairs, plus 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The wrap-around stoop was perfect for al fresco dining or enjoying coffee while soaking in breathtaking mountain and sunset views. The pool table, table tennis, and swimming pool were fantastic for relaxation, especially in the hot weather. We loved kayaking on the river and spotting wildlife like peacocks, goats, cattle, buck, and horses. Alison, our gracious host, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and even offers a fun booze cruise for 7 pax at R900. A short drive to Stillbaai revealed charming local crafts. Highly recommend this gem! The starry nights, peaceful surroundings, and thoughtful touches made it an ideal getaway for our group of 6 adults and 2 infants. This is a must-visit for anyone looking for tranquility and adventure in one place.
