'Smiðjan' the Smithy has been lovingly restored focusing on original aesthetics and comfort. It is situated at the edge of a small industrial area where you can enjoy absolute privacy and not worry about neighbours. Cottage in a beautiful valley

This nice cottage is situated in the middle of a beautiful valley, with no neighbors disturbing you. You have a sea view to the north. A stream with waterfalls and rapids down through the valley. The hut is also a good base for skitouring and moutain hiking (many trails in the area) and horse riding. We offer horse riding for additonal fee. We can ride a calm tour with beginners or a bit faster with more experienced riders. Horse riding is mostly available from May till September.

Our Cottage is one of a kind. It's modern, yet rustic, with large windows in all direction for the best view over the lake and mountains. It sits in a hill above Lake Ólafsfjörður and comes with a fishing permit. There is no light pollution in the area and therefore the winter nights light up the stars and the Northern Lights. The cottage is spacious with a double bed room and an attic with a beautiful view. Its only 5min drive from town Ólafsfjörđur.
