You will appreciate the clean private guesthouse that is located on a quiet neighborhood street in a newer central subdivision that is close to all that SW Missouri has to offer. Please note that we offer a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes, and utensils in the kitchen area, there is no stove/ oven. Parties and events are not allowed. Any extra guests need to have prior approval from the host before they arrive on site.

The guesthouse is attached via a breezeway to the main house. There is a covered pavilion where you can grill and eat. We have a pool that is open May-September. We have 2.5 acres mostly fenced. There is a concrete walking trail in the back yard about a 1/4 mile loop. The home is pet friendly with NO additional charge, just notify me when you book the house. We allow up to 2 pets. We ask that you keep them on a leash in the pool/courtyard area. They can run in the backyard and potty back there.

Gorgeous newly-furnished upstairs apartment provides a comfortable stay for 1-2 adults. Swim in the beautiful inground pool or lounge in the hammock under the pergola (available Jun-Sep). Enjoy the well-equipped interior features like TV/streaming, dedicated workspace, and a small-but-mighty kitchen. Located near I-44 and Main, close to hospitals. Dedicated entrance gives access to a private two-room suite via self check-in. Great value for a beautiful space where we anticipate your every need!

Private and Quiet! Small studio apartment (254 square feet) feels spacious with beautiful natural light and modern decor. Perfect for extended stay! No extra cleaning costs. Keypad access and driveway parking. 2019 build! New queen bed; full size fridge and shower. Close to popular spots in Joplin. Local guidebook located in apartment. Nice residential neighborhood. Close to both hospitals, medical school, MSSU. Right in the hub of retail shopping and restaurants. Easy access to highways.

Lots of room outdoors to walk around, the terrain is rocky and uneven so sturdy shoes are recommended. With a small pond close by Deer, fox, skunks, raccoons and coyotes are roaming the woods so please pay attention to small animals and children when outdoors

This place was great! Exactly how it was described, it’s also very clean and well organized. Only complaint, I wish you all had patio furniture and more cleaning products to help keep the space clean during the stay. This was our second time staying at the Black Dog Lodge. We stay here while driving cross country and it’s a great place to stop after a long day on the road. It’s very well taken care of, on a very quiet street, and with no detail overlooked. We seem to always manage to leave something behind when we stay here but Gary is extremely kind and our son’s favorite stuffed animal is in the mail to us as we speak. Thanks again! We hope to be back the next time we’re in Joplin!

Angela’s place was perfect for our quick trip home. Honestly, it was one of the cleanest, cutest and relaxing stays we’ve had. The location was convenient, I was born and raised in Galena but didn’t know these places were out there. Definitely recommend. Better than a hotel stay.

She was so kind and responsive! Kim was so kind and accommodating. Smelled like cigarettes because people like to smoke outside and she offered to come and help spray to help with the smell. She was so kind and the spot was clean and looked exactly like the pictures! Loved this place great for a person or two plenty of space.

Merre is very friendly, we had a mishap the day of check-in but it was all fixed the very next day!!! We arrived to fresh bread and eggs!! The place is just as described, it’s very quiet and peaceful. There is a pond on the property that can be walked to. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

Kristi’s place was gorgeous and just what we needed on our family road trip. The space was clean and there were snacks and bottled water left for us, which our teens promptly gobbled up. We took some of Kristi’s guidebook advice and ate at a couple of the restaurants, which were delicious. It was a great stay and we’d stay again if we travel through the area.
