Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Lake Hickory

We would stay here again and again! The space felt like a great value for the price. Close to everything we needed and wanted. The area felt safe and was walkable. Each bedroom/bathroom space felt private, and the common areas were spacious to accommodate our party. Dan was available as questions came up and made sure issues were resolved to completion. We had a beautiful stay at the BEE-N-BEE! The home was spotless and nestled in a peaceful, mountain setting with tall trees and fresh, clean air. We loved walking across the street to the honey store — our daughter enjoyed the animals and playground, and the honey was delicious. The owners were incredibly kind and hospitable, and there’s a meaningful mission behind the property that made our stay even more special. It’s close to Boone and Valle Crucis but still felt like a quiet escape. We expected road noise but hardly heard a thing. Sunrise and sunset over the ridges were stunning. The porch was a favorite — mosquito-free with rocking chairs and soft lights that made it feel magical. The kitchen had everything we needed, and it was amazing knowing honey is processed right behind the home. We’d absolutely stay again — 5 stars all around!

I had a great visit in this adorable spot right on the water. I was able to meet my new grandbaby and have a quick but relaxing visit. Would definitely stay here again! The courtesy snacks were a nice touch!

I have to say we travel cross country and have been staying in cabins and homes for years, this is one of the best! I could live in this home, it's perfect, everything was immaculate. Fully equipped kitchen that had everything you need. The view is beautiful on the lake, its a quiet off shoot of Lake Hickory a few boats and jet ski traffic but extremely quiet. The master bedroom is extremely large with a huge bathroom and walk in shower, there is also a large 2nd bedroom with attached full bath plus a half bath off of great room area. Hosts both Wendy and Tina are the best! when we arrived I messaged Wendy if there was a Kurig, wasn't a show stopper for us there were 2 drip machines, a while later Wendy stopped by to make sure everything was OK and found the Kurig for me. Tina also responded immediately about a check out question I had, Perfect Customer Service! We had a wonderful stay here and will definitely return again, next time for longer.

We had a great week at Pie in the Sky. The views are spectacular and the home is welcoming. Although there are other homes nearby, the neighborhood feels so peaceful. We enjoyed quiet mornings and evenings on the deck. Options for daytime activities are plentiful in the surrounding area. (Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Blowing Rock, Linville, Asheville) Corinne was very responsive with any questions that we had. Any issues that we had were quickly resolved. The home was well appointed with everything we needed to settle in and make the week easy. We picked up groceries at Lowes - a short drive west. The hot tub was so nice after a long day of hiking. My kids loved the separate lounge area and the cabinet of games. We would love to stay here again.

This place was cozy and very nice; this is definitely someplace I could see myself living if I lived in Morganton. We were in town for my father's funeral and this place was perfect as central hub for all of the family to locate as a reference to where everything else in town is. Clean, quiet and easy to get to, would definitely recommend. Thanks Virginia.

Johnny’s place offered everything I needed and more for a night. It’s easy to walk into and around the little town Banner Elk, but it also has beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Johnny and his wife are very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my visit!

Had a wonderful time in Davidson. Mike’s studio was quiet and private, but also a quick drive to fun restaurants and close to Davidson College. Mike was proactive with communicating and instructions were clear and easy to follow!

Joanna’s place was clean and comfortable, located close to local amenities. This was a great place to stay!

Our stay here was Awesome! It's exactly what we needed. The space was lovely, beautiful, and very peaceful. I was in town handling some stressful business and I was able to escape into an oasis at Jaime's house. Thank you so much for being accommodating to me and my family.

Simon and Julia are super helpful and kind. The place was just as expected, kitchen was fully equipped, everything was clean - and beautiful views. You can hear the neighbors pretty clear upstairs - but you can’t do much about that - plus it was disclosed in the listing. So overall I give 5 stars to Julia and Simon because THEY were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - super responsive, I will definitely be returning ❤️ p.s. my bro forgot his wallet in the bnb after we checked out and there was absolutely no issue going back to find it - they are a delightful couple.

Kyle was helpful and responsive. The place was very clean and the decorations were beautiful. My friend and I had a girl’s weekend and wanted different rooms (because we like to sleep in opposite temperature) and this fit us perfectly. We each had our own bathroom and the beds were very comfy. It was nice to have a kitchen and laundry option too. The directions were easy and Banner Elk is a 5 minute walk. The best part was the 180 degree view! I miss it already and didn’t want to leave! There were deer outside our window both days so that was a bonus. We would stay here again for sure!

Amanda’s hidden gem was an amazing spot for me and my boyfriend to escape reality from! Check-in was very easy, and her space was very easy to find. Her space looks just like the pictures and we felt right at home. Amanda was also kind enough to supply some light snacks and coffee cups for the place which we were very grateful for! It was very clean, and we felt very safe and right at home. We were also able to have access to the country club, which we went for the hot tub which was so nice! The view from the balcony was amazing!! Overall, we loved our stay with Amanda and we will be back for a ski trip!! :)

I really enjoyed my stay. The view of Grandfather Mountain was beautiful and peaceful. The thoughtful decor of the condo felt welcoming and modern. The location is great as a base for hiking and outdoor activities in the surrounding area. Downtown Boone is about 15-20 minutes away, which has cute stores and some good restaurants. I liked Kimberly and Lauren’s food recommendations of The Cardinal and Lost Province.

Great stay. Host was super responsive. Only a twenty minute walk from Bank of America Stadium. The place had everything a person or couple would need for a great weekend in Charlotte.

This was the perfect getaway we were looking for. The owners did an absolutely great job at providing clear and precise details on how to get to the unit. Additionally, it was helpful that they mentioned that there was no AC so that we could bring our own fans with us. The location had a beautiful scenery in the morning. Also, there was even some wildlife that we spotted from the porch during our morning coffee. The little touches of coffee being provided and dog toys for our Happy boy was very sweet. We would definitely stay here again
