Holiday rentals with a kayak in Lake Lure

The house had everything we needed in the kitchen and living areas. The boat dock was very well equipped with kayaks and easy to dock a rental boat. We had easy access to the lake. It has a wonderful, large dining table. We enjoyed the screened porch! The pool pavilion next store was lovely and very convenient. Jake was a very responsive host through the whole process. The information about things to do was very complete and helpful.

The Lake house was perfect for us! 8 of us stayed at the house for celebrating a graduation and 10-12 of us gathered there for lunch and breakfast and it was great fit. It is literally steps away from a sweet little lake, that had baby ducks and geese when we were there in the spring and was a lovely 15 minute walk to downtown Black Mountain. The hosts were great - when I reached out for recommendations on a restaurant or caterer to help us with after the graduation lunch, they wrote back quickly and made great recommendation. thank you! Oh, and they recently added a game table and my husband loved it and we always knew were to find him, haha.

We had a very peaceful 5-night stay at the house, which was very comfortable. It was clean, well stocked with essentials, and had high quality furniture, bedding, linens and towels. The neighborhood is very quiet and secluded. There was no cell signal for me at the house, but the Wifi was fairly reliable - though a little too slow for uninterrupted streaming of TV shows. One thing that was a little tricky was the lighting situation. Some labels on the light switches might help, as some seemed to do nothing, while other sets of lights (those above the bar, and the outdoor ones by the hot tub) were either broken or had switches we couldn't find. The filtered water from the fridge was also not working, and in the separate "treehouse" building (where the main TV is), the only functional source of heat was a small Dyson space heater.

I will definitely be staying at this house if we come up here again, very comfortable, clean, peaceful. Every morning we had deer in the yard. Such a great place!

This place is heaven on earth. So idyllic, quiet, lots of hiking. The house itself is cozy and well stocked. Kevin and Linda are wonderful hosts.

Tara and Tim were great hosts. They communicated well and everything was just as described. We were there to celebrate our son’s wedding and the home accommodated our large group very well.

Little gem. Only weakness was the TV is a bit older and the internet bandwidth isn’t consistent. Cell service is weak up there too, so be aware of that. But if you want to truly unplug and enjoy nature, especially during the warmer months, this place is a treat. The owners have put a lot of intentionality into the place and accommodating the stay of their guests. Overall, wonderful.

The cabin is beautiful and peaceful which is what our family was looking for. We enjoyed all of the amenities, and the kindness Michelle showed our family. It was clean and offered everything you needed to cook and enjoy your surroundings, even a BBQ and smoker. The beds were comfortable, and linens were good quality. Lots of extra towels if necessary. Thank you, Michelle. We enjoyed your lovely cabin in the woods.

The Cottage at Lake Lure provided unmatched views and a relaxed and peaceful retreat. Outdoor spaces are beautiful but unfortunately the boat house that was present at the time of booking had been taken down by the time of our stay, reducing the ability to be on the lake. Access to paddleboards and kayaks a plus and the ability to rent a pontoon was a wonderful bonus. Wifi access was spotty and phone service challenging - this provided some challenges to individuals who planned to work a remote day from the booking. Overall a great stay with fire pit, grill, time on the water, and gorgeous scenery.

We had a quick stay for camp drop off. Very comfortable home and beds. Clear instructions for getting there and staying.

What a cool property! The house was cozy and clean, but that's only the beginning. My kids played in the giant field, explored the woods, cold-plunged in the creek, relaxed in the hot tub, made s'mores in the fire pit, and played lots of ping pong! This isn't just a house; it's more like a camp! It was more charming and memorable than we ever expected. We had everything we needed and wished we could have stayed longer! The driveway and parking area were adequate and navigable, even with my 15-passenger van. The surrounding area is beautiful! During our 3-day stay, we hiked 6 waterfalls and did Sliding Rock, all within a 30-minute drive. So glad we didn't miss the experience of staying at this unique and lovely property. We'll be back!

This was my second visit to Marthas and once again it did not disappoint. This time we decided to book specifically for a father son fishing trip. We had a blast caught plenty bass blue gill and some catfish. I normally never catch any bass but they were pumping on my hook all weekend. Martha is always helpful very responsive and so polite she always leaves a little snack in kitchen when you enter. The furniture is cozy and very comfortable the setting is relaxing and beautiful view. The neighbors are polite great restaurants nearby and easy to drive to with many grocery stores close by the locals are so friendly and welcoming.

This was the perfect location for our celebration of my mountain biking husband’s 50’th birthday. While the guys were biking the rest of our crew hiked the private trails at Conastee Falls within the neighborhood and paddle boarded and kayaked on Ticoa Lake. The house is located right on the lake, and adjacent to the boat launch and dock with a ladder, which was very convenient. The home has its own dock with kayaks and paddle boards to use. We did not use the Pedal pontoon. (It is noted in the description but for water access you need to be able to walk a good may steps down to the water from the house or drive down to the Ticoa Lake access one space over if it is too steep fo you to descend and ascend the stairs. We brought our dog with us and Jenni’s home accommodated her so well, with a large crate and dog toys and feeding bowls. The lower deck has the ability to fence in a space for pets while you relax in the hot tub or sit on the deck. The home had everything we needed.

My family enjoyed a week at Ashley's place in Lake Junaluska. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked, and everything in the house is very well-kept and clean! The pull through driveway is helpful on the narrow curvy road. The light on the front porch (which you are blocked from turning off) does glare into the second bedroom; keep that in mind if you have light sleepers.

I've spent many years using Airbnb. This was a very special experience! The cottage is perfection. The grounds and surrounding area are stunning! But the hosts, Melinda and Hal , made a lasting impression. You both made my birthday one of the best! I am forever grateful and can't wait to return.

This rental is a hidden gym beautiful at night quiet and relaxing. My husband and I took the whole family and we enjoyed every moment. They thought of everything! Alberto was very responsive proactive, and friendly. This is a very secure location with gated entry. Our drive from Maryland was worth the 8 hours. We will definitely be back. Thanks Alberto for giving our family the escape we needed.

We had a wonderful visit with spectacular views, with lots of peace and quiet. Everything we needed was supplied with excellent communication with host. Would definitely recommend this property and you will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house! The breathtaking mountain view was unbelievable, and the house itself was so cozy and comfortable, with comfy furniture and beds. The kitchen had everything we needed, even for our large group. Having access to Rumbling Bald was a fantastic bonus – we really enjoyed the indoor pool and mini-golf. Communication with the host was excellent, and check-in was smooth. We highly recommend this house for a peaceful family retreat. The only downside? Our kid was so sad when it was time to leave!!! Thank you, Kathleen, we will definitely come back.

Beautiful piece of heaven. Even though it rained the majority of our visit we were still able to enjoy the serenity of the area thanks to the covered porches. This home is so peaceful and quaint. Exactly what I wished for, and we look forward to staying here again. Highly recommend folks stay at this beautiful cabin with the lovely view.

This is by far the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in. Everything was phenomenal. Sleeping with the water rushing right outside was so relaxing. Knowing we were surrounded by nature was refreshing. All you need is some groceries, a good book and great company to have a blast here.

This was a BEAUTIFUL space for our gathering. The house was stunning, super accommodating, and cozy for our large group. There was a lovely trail beside the house that led to a relaxing mini-spring. We loved how private it was and the community surrounding it. We appreciate the host’s flexibility and have already talked about coming back. You will not be disappointed booking this house.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful, well furnished, and stocked with everything we could possibly need. It felt like home! The views from the house are incredible...even better than the photos. The lake has a small beach that was a highlight and there are some nice trails around the property. The host was very responsive and the information we received in advance very helpful. We were especially appreciative of the host's flexibility with a special request. I highly recommend this location and would love to return.
