Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Monroe Lake

This is the second time I stayed at John’s property. It is conveniently located on campus, and walkable to the stadium. The home is furnished tastefully, clean and stocked with all essentials. John also responds quickly to questions. I would definitely recommend checking out this property. It’s a gem!

We were so impressed with everything at Alex’s place. We totally appreciated the snack layout especially - LOL. There was plenty of space for us all. We totally enjoyed the access to the B-line. The decor was amazing, especially as IU grads of the early 90’s. The porch was a great hang. We played cornhole in the back yard. We would definitely stay there again!

Chad was very proactive and responsive to any questions we had. Great home, great amenities, would stay here again!

Can’t say enough wonderful things about this beautiful place. Just the peace and quiet we needed. They had everything we could need or want. Such a wonderful, generous host. Best bed ever! They get everything right!

We had both of Amy’s airbnbs over IU graduation wknd. We’ve been staying at the campus house for 4 yrs. I just realized that I left a review for that house on her woodland retreat house (new to Airbnb). Doesn’t seem to be a way to edit, so I’ll comment on that here: Outdoor wonderland! Beautiful! The house is great and comfortable, too! Amy’s artistic eye is obvious :) Having gotten to know Amy during our daughter’s past 4 yrs of undergrad at IU, I can attest that she is not only one of the best Airbnb hosts, but truly one of the kindest people on the planet💚…our dogs agree☀️

had a pleasant stay at Nicolas’s basement studio. The space was impressively clean and well-maintained, which immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease. Nicolas clearly takes pride in keeping the studio in great condition—everything from the floors to the bathroom felt freshly cleaned and tidy. The studio itself is well-organized and has all the basics you need for a short stay. The furniture was comfortable, and the bed provided a good night’s rest. I also appreciated the quiet and privacy that came with being in a basement space—it felt like a peaceful retreat. That said, one thing to be aware of is that the studio is a bit dim. As it’s located in a basement, there’s limited natural light, which made it feel a little enclosed during the day. Adding more lighting or finding a way to increase natural light would definitely improve the overall atmosphere. Still, if you’re looking for a clean, cozy, and quiet place to stay, this studio is a solid option.

The place was fantastic! It was nice, clean, and comfortable. Everything was new and updated with a lot of space for gathering. Highly recommend!

I left this place absolutely gobsmacked. It really should be listed in a special category within Airbnb because it is a time capsule so exquisitely captured. I personally have always loved farmhouse-modern style houses and appreciated midcentury, but now, having stayed at David's place, I have ABSOLUTE REVERE for the genius and excellence of mid-century design. This house has been so perfectly preserved. Because the wood slats on ceiling are structural, the sound when it rains is like being cocooned in a canvas tent with padding on top. It was so incredibly good for sleeping (in conjunction with the black-out blinds). It rained every night—what a treat! The cove lighting, the fixtures, the furniture...all perfect mid-century iterations. And the sheets and pillows were ridiculously soft. I can't speak highly enough of this place. It really is a gem and a masterpiece. AND!, David was a super attentive and friendly host. I highly recommend.

Great stay overall! We had 16-18 people and the property slept us all comfortably with plenty of space to eat and relax. Much cleaner than other places we have stayed as a group. Quiet neighborhood and great hot tub! We would love to come back.

This airbnb was true to the pictures posted on the web. It was clean, and in a very quiet location, wish we could have taken advantage of the pool, but we knew the pool would be closed. The home had everything we needed and would stay there again.

Property was accurate to description and photos online. Couch should not be considered as sleeping option for adults.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place is simple and cozy. Nice property. Pots and pans and coffee were nice. Recommend if looking for seclusion.

Absolutely wonderful for families - lots of room for everyone! My kids loved the pool! Lots of thoughtful extras - the snacks in the kitchen were so nice after a long travel day. You can tell they want you to feel at home.

I absolutely loved Denise’s place. She was very responsive and so thoughtful with the extra touches. The area was very peaceful and her place was clean and exactly as pictured. I would definitely stay again and recommend her place to others.

We loved our stay here. The house has so many rooms, we could have fit more. The different locations of the rooms was great for multiple families. The backyard was the biggest hit (the second was the hot tub) - with multiple playgrounds and lots of room, our kids spent most of the time out there. The dining area had plenty of room and chairs. The host was so friendly whenever we saw him. We would definitely have a reunion here again!

Comfortable spacious home right on the regional airport property. Home was exactly as described on listing. It was unique, enjoyable, and close to shops & restaurants. About 15 mins from IU, but we didn’t need to be near the campus. The house was plenty big for us to spread out and enjoy the big TV. The pots and pans in the kitchen were very handy, but when shopping, be sure to buy basics like cooking oil, salt/pepper, & coffee. A dishwasher would’ve been handy, but to avoid washing, we just brought paper plates and cups. We eat a lot! The shower water had great water pressure and got comfortably hot. Lots of towels and linens too. We appreciated the blackout blinds in the bedrooms as it got quite sunny early in the mornings. Beds were comfy too I like a little reading lamp at my bedside, but there was only one lamp like that in the sitting room. I took it with me to the bedroom every night just so I can read & turn it off easily. Kristine was responsive & helpful. Great stay!

We came for my son’s IU graduation and we had a great time. This is the BUSIEST weekend in Bloomington so all reservations are done at least 12 months in advance and every place is overpriced including rentals, hotels, restaurants, etc and you are happy if you can get a vacancy. We booked several months in advance. It was very easy to communicate with Joseph, he is very friendly and responsive. My daughter arrived a bit earlier and checked in the house. She texted me that there was dog hair on the floor and furniture. Since the place is pet friendly, i expected that this might be an issue. Joseph was very resourceful and responsive, he asked someone to come by and clean the floors the same evening. While it was not perfect, I appreciated Joseph’s willingness to fix the issue and resolve it right away.

We absolutely loved staying here! The cabin was so cozy and welcoming. It had everything we needed and more. The outdoor space is perfect! Waking up and enjoying our coffee under the new pergola was pure bliss! The birds singing created the most enchanting and relaxing atmosphere. It was the perfect way to start each day and truly unwind. Highly recommend taking advantage of this beautiful outdoor space! We couldn't have asked for a better place to call home during our trip. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone!

The perfect weekend get away. Cabin is cozy and the location is private but close enough to town that it’s not a hassle to go and grab something to eat or run to the store. Our entire party has already started planning our return. Hosts communication is clear and reliable. Thanks for a great weekend!

The Monroe Bloom was a small apartment but perfect for what we needed… being close to IU! Very clean and comfortable. Only issue was the WiFi being spotty, but that’s to be expected out in the woods. I would definitely recommend!!

We were looking for a place to just rest our heads since we would be gone during the day. I did not expect the home to be so clean, spacious, and beautiful. I stumbled across the listing after having to cancel the reservations we had at a nearby hotel. So happy we did because the stay here was so much better! Lindsay was super nice and asked if we needed anything while we were there. 10/10 would recommend

Austin was a great host and super accommodating. This was our second stay at the house and it has worked out perfectly for us. We would absolutely stay there again.

Overall, a great stay! The place was clean, cozy, and just as described. The host was responsive and check-in was smooth. Loved the convenient location and being surrounded with nature! One small incident—on Friday morning, some strangers knocked on the door and didn’t respond when asked who they were, which was a bit scary at the time. They eventually left after the third attempt, and I reported it to the host right away. The host mentioned they might have been from a religious group. Thankfully, it didn’t happen again for the rest of the stay. Despite that, the neighborhood was generally quiet and I’d still consider staying here again!
