Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Mount Desert Island

We loved the location but we were already familiar with the area. It was so much fun watching all the different birds fishing for food. Seagulls, eagles. ducks etc. The house is set very close to the highway so the street noise could be annoying. If you are an early riser it's not a problem. There are no bedrooms on the ground floor so you need to be able to do stairs and they are quite steep. It is one of our favorite spots on the island and we would stay there again.

We loved our stay at Sweetwater! The house is located in a lovely quiet neighborhood away from the main road. The house itself is very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed. Very close to great hikes and downtown SW Harbor. Would most certainly stay here again.

What an amazing cabin in the middle of Acadia National Park, extremely conveniently situated - minutes away from town center, a large grocery store, beautiful hiking trails, and Echo Lake (swimming). Mary Ann was a great host, and our two pups had a great time running around in the fenced-in yard. The cabin had all the amenities and supplies, and was more than large enough for our group of 5 adults and one toddler.

A beautiful home off the beaten track, surrounded by woods, and stunning view of Bartlett Narrows make this house special. On the quiet side of MDI, we had bald eagles, a school of porpoises and loons. The caretaker told us that seals come up on the private beach as well. We loved the seclusion and quietness of the place - particularly when the lobster boats weren’t working. The rooms are a good size, kitchen has all the necessary tools to cook, beds are firm, and the deck is comfortable. Place was clean upon our arrival. There are no stores within 15 minutes so planning your grocery trips is important. The Quiet side is great for hiking, and kayaking nearby. For lobster dinners, our favorite is Archie’s with live music and outdoor seating and views. Bar Harbor and the other part of Acadia National Park are a 20-30 minute drive. If you want a place away from the crowds, this is it.

Lauren was a wonderful host! We had an amazing stay at her cottage. It was less than a 10 min drive from her place to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia. Lauren was attentive and fair when handling any issues we ran into during the stay. We will definitely be back!

We loved staying a short drive away from Bar Harbor and central the the sites and hikes in Acadia National Park.

We had a wonderful week stay celebrating our one year wedding anniversary. Samuel and Isabel and were wonderful hosts! The icing on the cake was being greeted by their sweet labs, Enzo and Stella. Our two year old daughter always had a smile on her face every time she got to see them. She poured all her love (and many hugs) to the two of them. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Mount Desert area look no further! Their guest home was beautiful, quiet, and serene. We hope to come back next year!

For my husband and me this place was perfect! Simple, clean, very homey. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials (and more) and even spices, etc. We went to Acadia to hike and LOVED the location! Very easy access to trails, yet not too far for those who want to access downtown Bar Harbor. Allison was very responsive, kind, and helpful and gave us some great recommendations! We loved hiking Acadia so much and would love to return. If we do, we’ll definitely stay at Thelma’s Cottage!!

Kevin and Donna’s place was very clean and comfortable. It is just a short drive from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia national park. Watching the geese and ducks in the beautiful backyard each morning was a bonus. Kevin and Donna are responsive and friendly.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Snuggery. The whole place is actually quite spacious compared to any hotel room and the little kitchen area was very handy. Shawn was very responsive and quickly resolved an issue with the coffee maker, so that I could enjoy the delicious free coffee that was provided. The only drawback is that the window blinds do not fully block out the daylight, so you might want to bring an eye mask, if you don't want to be wide awake at 5am in the summer.

Pam's place was wonderful spot for our trips back and forth to Acadia. Away from the crowds of Bar Harbor and only a short drive. The place is cute, quaint and well stocked. Very pleasant stay!

Really nice well-kept space. It was very clean! Location was perfect for visiting the area. Private and peaceful! Loved walking down to the river just outside of the apartment. Would definitely stay here again!

Great little place for a small group to stay!

We absolutely loved Lise’s apartment. It had a beautiful view of Cadillac Mountain. The kitchen was updated, high end appliances and had everything in it that we could need, from organic eggs, bread to fruit and yogurt. The bed was very comfortable. I loved the bathroom with the hand held shower. She was the was the most friendly,attentive hostess we have ever had. This is one of the best AirBNBs we have stayed at and we have stayed in many. We definitely will stay here again!!! Thanks Lise for making us feel special and at home. Roger and Charlotte

I can’t say enough good things about this place! The location was amazing. Right off Main Street and totally walkable to anything in bar harbor with a parking space! It was on the right side of bar harbor to get to Acadia within 5 minutes. We loved all of the restaurants close by and the access to the park. The place was so comfortable and cozy! Beautifully decorated and warm after cold hikes in the park. We did not hear any noise at all from the hospital which is tiny compared to the hospitals in Virginia. I didn’t even notice it was there. Brianne was so kind and responsive and recommended lots of good hiking and dining options. I can’t wait to come back here again! If I could give this home 6 stars I would and I am usually a picky reviewer! We will definitely be back to the same house if we come back to Bar Harbor, which I hope we do! It’s a great base for exploring Acadia! The kitchen was well stocked and the bedroom was very comfortable. Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Love this Condo. Superb location in Blue Hill Village, easily walkable to everything downtown. Modern and updated making it very comfortable. Well equipped with cleaning/cooking supplies so you can "live normally". The hosts are super responsive and helpful as well. Highly recommended.

The location of the condo is perfect if you are looking to stay in Maine to explore Acadia. The condo itself is minimalist but completely adequate. The indoor swimming pool and amenities at the clubhouse are perfect for anyone with kids and/or rainy days! The views were beautiful off the deck. I would definitely stay again!

The photos don't do this place justice. It was spacious and squeaky clean. Beautiful views of the water. For a busy marina it was pretty quiet. During the day there would be people just outside the unit talking but nothing disruptive. Great price for a beautiful place. Only about a 25min drive to Bar Harbor. We would definitely stay here again.

My family and I were very excited about visiting Acadia National Park. This location is close to the park (about 10-15 min driving). We stay in the large room for six people. The place is good for a group who can sleep closely (our kids slept next to each other in the two beds and the couch), also keep in mind there is only one restroom. Having a kitchen to cook our meals is always a plus. The common areas are very good. We used the hot tub, the fireplace and the grill. Everything was great! Arthur is an excellent remote host, quickly answering all our questions. I recommend this place for families willing to visit Acadia.

We rented both the Toddy House and Rocky House for a week for our family of 12. The houses were as described and in pristine condition. We loved the fact that they were close together, so the late night group could stay up socializing, while the children could be put to bed without distraction. The Toddy House had a pool table which provided lots of late night entertainment. It also had a large open common area to accommodate our group, and we spent a lot of time on the screened porches. We really liked the access to the water with the dock, the canoes and kayaks, and the super cool fire ring. We are the type of family that asks a lot of questions, and Mark was quick to answer and take care of any questions or issues we had. We spent a great deal of time at Acadia, and while the drive was about 45 minutes to get there, it was not a problem at all. We would definitely return to 3Havens if we decided to take another vacation in this area. Mark and Laurie were excellent hosts.

We had a wonderful stay in Ted's place. It has amazing views and the unit is well stocked with all necessities. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful location and house. There’s nothing better than sitting in the living room or front porch and being able to see the Belfast Bay. The house is very clean and neat. Beds are comfortable, shower is very hot. Don’t miss the sunrise in the mornings. Overall this is one of our favorite places we have stayed in Belfast.

Brian's place was great!! It is a great location - you can walk to all the main shops and restaurants right in Bar Harbor, and it is also just blocks from the Bar Island bridge that you can walk at low tide. It's also an easy/quick drive to Acadia. The place itself was just as pictured and very clean and cozy. Before I booked, I read in some others' reviews that the parking was tight, which made me a little nervous, but when I got there, I thought the parking was just fine! I have a regular SUV and had no issues. Brian was also very communicative - I didn't have any issues or need anything while I was there, but he was nice in checking in with me anyway. Highly recommend!
