Robert's house, Granddaddy's Place, was wonderful. I grew up just a few miles from the house and when we drove into the yard, it felt like home. It actually felt like my granddaddy's place. The yard was immaculate with large pecan trees and grape vines. The house was very clean and decorated nicely. Comfortable beds and linens made it easy to get a good night's rest. We didn't cook, except for a simple breakfast each morning, but the kitchen had what we needed had we decided to do so. I enjoyed my morning coffee sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch. enjoying the sounds of a farming community waking up to start the day. The cooing of the doves and the wind through the pecan trees put me at ease immediately. Mr. Robert was very helpful and we found out he knows my family in the area and he attends the same church I grew up in. I was impressed that he included an invitation to church in his guest book. I hope we get to stay with Mr. Robert again.

What a wonderful little gem of a place to stay in Whiteville! The home was pristine and had very thoughtful touches. There were snacks and drinks for us and our dog loved playing with all the toys in the doggy toy box. We were within walking distance to most restaurants. And we bought the best peaches at the local farmers market! If you ever need a place to stay in Whiteville, this is your spot!

We had the most delightful time. Larry is personable and a great communicator. We loved the farm like atmosphere yet being close to town. Stella and Remy were the best part of our stay. We will definitely stay again next time we are in town.

In a small rural town that has more than expected bc it is a crossroads & county seat - these accommodations were much better for the money than a motel etc (as confirmed by a friend at the wedding we attended who stayed in motel). Love having a bedroom so one can be out watching tv and someone else resting or reading in bed. Convenient location with cafe across street and others around the corner plus easy access to roads going in all directions. Parking right there and despite the obvious conversion from a commercial building in the past, functional and cozy place to stay. The ratings are accurate!
